In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Tifa raised an eyebrow as a a boy toppled into a puddle of water. Naturally, Yuffie took out that oversized shuriken of hers at once, ready to start eviscerating the poor boy, but she decided to help instead. "I haven't seen him for quite some time now," she sighed. "It's a little annoying, really, he seems to come and go like the rain."
Concerned, Tifa followed Yuffie, looking at the boy curiously. He looked like one of those smart "genius" types, carrying..books..around...
Kuu felt a supportive hand on his arm, and looked up at his helper, a girl slightly shorter than himself, dressed in what appeared to be variations on combat clothing (it seemed to have been shrunk in the wash then mixed with summer clothing, a surprisingly well-suited combination). He gratefully took it and pulled himself up off the ground, taking care that the movement didn't unbalance his rescued books out of his hands. The raincoat had prevented most of his body from the wet, but the bottom half of his trousers were soaked.
Looking at the girl who had aided him, he noticed that she held a star-shaped weapon which she seemed to have put away rather hurriedly. The points were too long to be chakram, and it didn't seem to be a ringblade, as it appeared it was made to be thrown, judging from the handles being near the centre as opposed to part of the outer edge. So some kind of oversized throwing projectile in the shape of a star - perhaps a shuriken. So some sort of ninja? What were one of those doing here?
The logistics of an assassin having such a large weapon aside, courtesy called for his thanks.
'Thanks,' he said with a slight smile. 'I'm fine, though I might not be able to say quite as much about my trousers - they've seen better days, alright...'
As he tried to wring out some of the water, a figure appeared from behind him - "Are you...alright?"
Kuu started a little, the sudden movement once again causing him to almost lose his grip on his books. He clutched the top of the pile with his hand, just preventing the whole column to go toppling into the recently vacated puddle. Turning to the person in question, he noticed that it was a she - a tall, black-clad and rather stunning she, as a matter of fact. Where were all these women coming from? Had he gatecrashed in the middle of some sort of out-of-town slumber party that happened only on rainy days?
'Yeah, yeah, I'm good - completely unhurt,' he said, stepping further into the bailey and putting his books down to prevent further potential mishaps. 'It was only a trip-up, I think the water made it sound a lot worse than it was. Thank you for your concern, nevertheless.'
He took off his drenched raincoat (could raincoats get drenched?) and laid it down next to his books, attempting to shake out some of the moisture from his hair where the rain had managed to find its way under his hood. 'Sorry for alarming you, I'm not usually quite so graceless - it's a little embarrassing.'
As he stepped a distance away to keep the shaken water droplets from falling onto the two women, he inadvertently caught sight of yet another slender figure looking at him with curious eyes. Blinking at her through his glasses, he was able to make out red hair, a colour he found unsettlingly familiar, and blue eyes. With an alien sensation of recognition creeping up on him with the speed of a bullet train, he took off his glasses to see her better, and was met with the violet-blue eyes of a girl he had met so many years ago on a beach in a tiny world he had once lived in.
Still not quite believing it, he spoke a name, as if testing how it sounded in the air.
With a small chuckle, Yuffie stepped back and observed the stranger as he stood, glad he was unhurt. As he got all the way up, she realized that he had recognized Kairi, who was standing a small distance away, and confusion showed on the face of Yuffie.
"Umm...I'm lost. Are you from where Kairi and Sora come from too, or do you know her from around here? I guess that Ke...umm, you guys would be well known, but you haven't got around much, right?"
A hand slid to the handle of her shiruken, worry now setting in.
“Hm,” Kairi hummed to herself as she stared at Tifa with her large expressive eyes, which resembled an innocent doe, while the Princess of Hearts try to read the other. She wasn’t an over analytical person, but she always walked with that old phrase of the ‘eyes are the pathway to the soul’. At least with her strong focus one would know they had her undivided attention, while she tried to read between the lines of expressions, reactions, little sighs here and there, and glances. For a moment, Kairi felt like she was onto something, but Tifa switched gears. Contemplating on Tifa, it took Kairi a moment or more to turn to see what captivated her attention.
She’s sad; she missed him… a lot to the point it looks like it hurts.
Oh she hoped the boys weren’t like this either. Sure while she waited on the islands for them, there were painful ebbs to it, but she kept her spirit up knowing that they would come back; they had to. With this circumstance, she didn’t left a letter, a farewell, or a promised return. Her guilty conscience was eating her up. The sooner she left Radiant Garden, the better it would be for everyone.
Snapping out of her ‘la la land’, Kairi walked after Tifa and Yuffie (since she definitely lacked an umbrella now) only to pick up bits and pieces of conversation. She saw a patch of silver hair, and for less than a second her breath caught in her throat, but similar to Tifa, there was dissatisfaction; he wasn’t who she was looking forward into running into, nor was he who she was looking for. He had lengthy hair like Reno and Riku, lacked their eyes, and overall demeanor. He was definitely NOT Reno, and she doubted she ever caught Riku with some many books…outside of school. Still her face hadn’t dropped as she stared at him; something very distant was nagging and probing at her, but she couldn’t put her finger on it. It was as if she was looking at something familiar, and her mind was working hastily to put the pieces together, but all she got was a clear vivid blankness.
“Kairi,” her name rang loudly in her ears at the acknowledgement, but it startled her all the same; he knew her. Yuffie and Kairi shared the same face, utter confusion. Yuffie was quick to respond to her own tenseness and uncertainty as she loosely interrogated.
“Do I know you?” Kairi started hesitantly, while her mind reeled elongating the last word in her mind. It had some to do with ‘you’, but not with ‘sue’. It was simple, yet foreign, but simple.
You Youuuu no Suuuue NO Rikuuuu no cue …It didn’t start with a q, but it had a ‘kah’ Unconscious her lips were moving subtle testing out syllables and sounds until something felt right, and after a while it was becoming frustrating. At the end of all of her thinking a simplistic syllable slipped from her lips, “Koo.”
There was no mistake. The look of recognition on her face told Kuu all that he needed to know. This was the girl he had met all those years ago in a world that had become the closest to what he could have called a home. The girl he had spoken to on a distant beach about stars and worlds and places beyond the sky. The last real conversation he'd had before fate had ripped him away and flung him into the shoes of yet another life. Kairi.
'Kairi,' he repeated, with more confidence.
But what was she doing here? As far as he knew, there ought to have been no way to get from Destiny Islands to anywhere. The Gummi Ships he'd found about here did not travel to such a tiny world, and even if it did, he could think of no reason why the sweet sincere schoolgirl he'd known back on the Islands would have any reason to leave that peaceful lifestyle - he knew he wouldn't have if he could.
'It is you, isn't it?' said Kuu, the tiniest hint of self-doubt creeping in. 'You've... you've filled out. I mean, er... nice. You look nice.'
...Congratulations. You have successfully consolidated your first impression as that of a creep. More than thousands of words in over twenty different languages in your vocabulary and you had to use 'nice'.
"Umm...I'm lost. Are you from where Kairi and Sora come from too, or do you know her from around here?"
Kuu looked at the ninja, and noticed that her hand was returning to her weapon - most likely the result of his comment. Sweat breaking out on the back of his neck (or was it the remnants of the rain?) he assured her quickly, 'No, no, we met a long time ago back on Destiny Islands. So sure, you could say that I'm from the same world as her and So-'
He paused, taking in what she had said. Sora. He had heard that name for sure - during his time in the Chinese army, he had heard whispers of the legendary Fa Mulan and her exploits with the mysterious warrior called Sora. He had never thought that the Sora they had been talking about had been...
Kuu turned back to Kairi. 'Sora... that's the guy you were always hanging out with, right? So Sora is this mysterious "Keyblade Wielder" I've been hearing whispers about... wait, more importantly, how did you guys get off the Island? And what're you doing on Radiant Garden of all places? Have you been here long? And what-'
Kuu stopped himself, realising that he was going into the creepiness again. He needed to curb back on his impulsive need to know things, or it would get awkward very fast. 'Sorry, that was weird. It's just that... I didn't think I'd see any of you guys ever again. So... well, I guess it's just really great to see you.'

Instead of falling into an awkward moment and oddly enough not read too much into it (since her childhood were pretty much forged around boys), Kairi merely laughed wholeheartedly, “hehehe you filled out too. “
She probably put too much emphasis, but the unusual greeting had lightened up her spirit excessively right when she was in the stupor of loneliness and suffering from the distance of childhood friends and home. He truly picked an opportune moment for turning an embarrassing moment to something utterly light hearted and helpful. Finally her laughter died down with a sigh of satisfaction as her frustration and yearning converted to happiness, while little remnants of ticklish butterflies fluttered in her stomach, “Oh wow it’s so god to see you.”
Her dazzling sapphire and violet tinted eyes smiled at Yuffie not picking up her hesitant nature; she was just too high on the moment to realize the ninja’s defensive nature at first. Kuu was able to wiggle out of it on his own, but Kairi added with a childish nudge on Yuffie. “He’s fine Yuffie.”
Seeing the ninja’s endearment of her, only made her feel warmer inside; she knew the ninja cared, but never witnessed the degree of it. For a moment she felt stupid to even feel so alone when there was someone not far from her.
Wait a minutes
Where in the worlds ever happened to Kuu? He poked right back in her path as quickly as he had left. One day no one could find him anywhere. It was a mysterious event and was even unnerving for weeks. Unfortunately the unwanted conclusion was eminent, and people just continued on with their lives. Unlike the masses, youngsters who dreamed the idea of distant worlds kept a lighter ending even if it seemed more of a fantasy of denial. But with him here, it must have been true than; he left the world, but why, when, and how?
So many questions. And naturally he may have had just as many; both weren’t where they were the last time they crossed path. Snapping out of her daze of questions, she hummed and nodded a reply to Kuu before clarifying, “Sora and Riku.”
Naturally questions breathed more questions, which Kairi was very lenient too; she was just as curious, since his departure was far more mysterious than hers. Funny how some things about him were consistent, so much uncertainty. “It’s not weird at all. Actually I find it weird not to ask, because it’s been….years. I will warn ya’ it’s kinda a long story too long to tell in the rain.”
She looked behind her to see if she can spot Merlin’s house from her, her temporary residency. “You know…let’s go to Merlin’s house. You’ll be dry, warm, and we can catch up. I’m sure Yuffie wouldn’t mind.”
A slim finger teasingly probed Yuffie’s side before giving a quick glance and ushering Kuu along.
With a bashful chuckle, Yuffie loosened her grip on the shuriken and ran to the door of Merlin's house, which was fairly nearby. As she burst in, per usual to the ninja, she looked around, expecting one of Merlin's traps. However, seeing nothing, she walked in, only to be hit by a harmless yet powerful spell, knocking her out of the door and onto her back.
As she got up, she laughed and smiled at KAiri, Kuu and Tifa.
"It's only me, Yuffie! Spell, go away!"
Then, as she walked in, she remembered and said,
"Oh, I'm bringing some friends too, so let them in."
((GAH I FORGOT! PLEASE DON'T PUT ME UP FOR ADOPTION ELLIE~))
Kuu followed the pair, still a little in shock at how he was walking beside someone from his past - a new thing for him, to say the least. Usually his history involved a year or two of his life being folded and packed away in a deep corner of oblivion, leaving it to forget him slowly. But now, something had unfolded, and was sharing in his footsteps, with only the rain washing it away from the cobblestones.
He was shocked out of his reverie by the ninja girl being blown backwards by some kind of automated spell. 'Wow,' he said, impressed. 'An anti-intrusion spell linked to a recognitive spell restrained by a set of magic limiters that impose conditions on who enters the house, connected to another recognitive spell to form a deactivation spell chain. Very cool.'
As they entered, Kuu looked about with eager curiosity for more interesting magic floating about, and felt a slight pang of disappointment as he saw everything obscured by columns upon columns of heavy books. He placed his own stack a little ways from the nearest pile - for some reason he got the rather frightening feeling that one book could go an awfully long way into the abyss of tomes if it got too close.
'It looks like the house of a magician, alright,' he said with a slight laugh.
He turned back to Kairi. So much to say, so much he wanted to know, and he didn't even know her that well. All he needed to do was ask, and she'd reply with that little hum and bright smile, like it was the easiest thing in the world. Just the way he remembered her. Except this time, it wasn't just a memory - this was real, and it was happening. Something about that just made him smile helplessly.
Oops. Being creepy again.
'Sorry, I'm being weird again...' he began, but then, of course, what better time than just then for his trademark drowsiness to kick in? Without warning, he had rolled onto the floor, unconscious, well into a steadfast doze.

Blue eyes blinked, while watching Yuffie get crudely rejected by the house. A finger with up to her mouth in thoughtfulness; she truly had forgotten that about the house. Perhaps she should've been concerned with the house letting Kuu in rather than the corky ninja. The princess snickered at the ninja's antic, then chuckled at Kuu's excitement; it seemed like she always surrounded herself with interesting characters; it's as if her life was set to be non-boring, "I see your into to magick now; it's quite endless as if nearly anything could be possible. Yep this is Merlin's house, a very knowledgable wizard, but he hadn't been around lately. I guess that's why he left the spells here. Someone had to protect it."
Being used to the cluttered space, Kairi blindly navigated through the mazes of books before finding a dinning table not far from a rugged dirt tinted bed. The house was quaint, but humble nonetheless, so Kairi hardly complained about the conditions; as long as there was food, plumbing, and baths, she was content.
"So explain yourself Mr," Kairi started with mock anger as she flopped on a nearby chair and gestured for Kuu to take the other. Looking at him, Kairi noticed he was in a dazed state; her head tilted in concern. "Kuu?"
He merely called it being wierd and apologize, but optimist Kairi just waved it off with a smile hardly finding a problem. Then she let him HAVE IT, " Sooo Where have you been? How did you get off the island? Why didn't you come back?"
Question birthed question, and they flew out of Kairi's mouth like hurricane winds, but she slowed herself down once coming up with another, " Did you wanted to come back?"
There were times when people had that restlessness about them, and it had tagged Riku that hardest amongst the trios with their attempt to 'leave the islands' in a mere childish raft that would hardly survive a tide or a storm. Their minds were so simple then, but Riku's will was quite adament. One can say he got his wish, but not the way he wanted it. Did the same happened to Kuu? Did he not want to return to the islands? Now being out in the worlds, she knew the islands were quite simplistic, but was it that bad to leave it altogether without a second glance or a goodbye?
Thump was what shook her out of her train of thought; her eyes fluttered as if yanked from a dream only to awaken to the reality of Kuu sprawled out on the floor. Thinking it's serious, she bolted out of her seat and yelled for Yuffie. Was this guy traveling the worlds sick and became insane enough to stroll in the rain with a bug? Her arms reached out to grasp him firmly before shaking the limp body, "Kuuuu KUUU!"
She could still here him breathing, and he didn't feel abnormal...temperature-wise, then a ludacris thought dawned on her, "Did he just...fell asleep...literally?"
Maybe he is sick...or something. Kuu what in the worlds have you been up to. She brushed her hands against his silver white hair to check if forehead; nope nothing unusual there. Sometimes she just didn't get him, and this was one of them.
"Hey Yuffs, help me lift him up. I don't want to potentially drop him."
((Kuu's asleep - he has a tendency to fall asleep at inopportune moments because of the strains his enhanced brain processing power and perceptive abilities on his mind, especially when he takes his glasses off, which he did recently to check if it really was Kairi a few posts back ^^))
