Name: Rouge Symphony
Nickname: Posthumous
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Species: Melody
Position: Chaotic Good
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Speed and Coordination: As a Melody, Post has an innate sense of speed that is generally unrivaled. He's quick on and off his feet, and is one of the finest shots around. In hand to hand combat this is especially predominant seeing as Post has an extremely quick hand. In the event that his opponent uses any heavy or long weaponry, close quarters is an extremely dangerous area to be in with Post.
The Melodies have direct ties over sound. Sound is their allies as they can generate sound, which involves distortion, reverb, and much more. This gives Melodies the ability to create high-frequency or extremely low-frequency waves that they use as weapons.
To all of his sound abilities, if he is underwater they are unusable. If broken through, his energy will be sapped and he will have to wait for a post to recover his energy and breath. And in the event that his weapons are broken his mental fatigue will greatly increase to the point that he has to hide to recover himself and rebuilt his mesa's.Low Frequency:
A dull bass that resounds around them. These low frequency waves can only be manipulated directly around their bodies, since the frequency falls apart so quickly. These are generally used as shields because of the force they have at contact range. By throwing a shield up, Posthumous can divert weaker attacks. Stronger attacks will inevitably break through the waves and damage Post.
High Frequency:
These attacks are beyond human sound. They rev up the frequencies from a point on their body so high that when released, the waves create a bullet that flies a medium distance before the kinetic energy fades. This is a moderate-damage attack that potentially leaves bruises. If it scores a hit to the chest is would most likely wind a target. At contact range it's possible to knock an opponent back, leaving them winded longer. It cannot be used at the same time Low Frequency is being used.
One post cooldown.
Melodies aren't well-versed in magic though, which sets any of their spells to the most basic form, mostly for use in the harsh terrain they live in. Basic spells consist of Fire, Thunder, and Cure. Nothing more.
Weapon/Items:Beat Mesa's. These are two cog-like objects that resemble record disks. They are actually brought into existence by Melodies when they are born, and are a part of the Melody in a spiritual sense. The Beat Mesas are as unbreakable as the creature's spirit and seem to be summoned by thought. They generally float underneath the palms of the user and can be used as close-range bashing weapons, shields, or chakrams.
Out of combat, the items are generally used to create music. When the Melody touches his fingernails to them, his Frequency abilities allow him to create tones and even scratches, giving the creature the ability to create multiple forms of music with the Mesa's.
Picture:OneTwoThreeAppearance: Post is relatively tall, literally maybe an inch below six feet. He has extremely pale blonde hair and pale skin, a very natural thing for a Melody to have, but his specialty is in his eye color. Scarlet is a quite rare eye color for a Melody, a race that generally consists of light blue or green eyes, sometimes even pink or yellow. But for the eyes to have the hue that his does makes him quite unique. It accents his face, although he tends to hide them behind black glasses that he found in this new realm.
He's very lightweight, that being one of the associates properties of the Melodies, and probably only weighs 135lbs or so despite his tallness. He wears a lot of white, red, and black, which pales him even further in comparison the the dark clothes in which he wears. His clothes tend to be rather tight and since he found himself in Traverse Town he's almost entirely gotten rid of his original getup from Nova, replacing it with contemporary clothing.
He tends to change his style quite often, ranging from three-piece suits to jeans and a t-shirt. These types of clothing did not exist in Nova, so they greatly interest Post.
Personality: Post holds high disdain for most people due to his World's destruction. Naturally, he'd never seen a human before and their saturation and lack of expression was quite a shock to him. He sees them as a gray race, beings that despite their color tend to lack the muse of his own. While this disdain holds true he attempts to work with them, seeing as he's definitely a minority in the situation.
He can be a little arrogant and more-than-often mean, but it isn't out of rudeness. He's not the type to interrupt you in a conversation, but he tends to be rather cold towards people he doesn't know. Ever since he discovered headphones he's been wearing them, learning of this new land's music, and music in general seems to lighten his mood.
Still, he's not a man of many words and tends to act first and ask questions later, especially when it comes to Heartless.
He tends to speak in a pronounced slang; whether this is to make fun of the human language or whether it's just his preferred speech is unknown.
Original World: Nova
Current World: Traverse Town, and traveling
History:The world I live in is known as Nova. Nova is much like the worlds you reside in today, with snow, seasons, suns, and moons. It consists of one sentient race- Harmony. Harmonies are intelligent creatures that resemble the elves of lore. They war and they break bread, they draw, sing, and do many things. They also respect the dead, for the dead perform a very important act in Nova: they create the blueprints of the art and emotion that we know today.
When a Harmony dies a Melody is born. The melodies are spirits, essentially, and their world is paralleled to Nova. It is a ghostly world, and it exists in a ruinous state, one that the Melodies tend to enjoy for they have no need to build anything- the ruins are their homes. It is in these ruins that the Melodies perform their sacred arts. They are inspiration and muse, and have very interesting abilities. Some can make their paintings live, while others can create illusions of themselves through act. Some make music physical notes that echo float through the sky, etc. These abilities will eventually fade away, and a Harmony with an acute sense of the specific art will eventually unscramble the static blueprints into something clean, sometimes even a little different. Melodies tended not to realize the beauty in which they created, which is where I differed. For some odd reason, I could hear triumph and sadness in the music that drifted around me. I could see despair and joy in the paintings that roamed the ghostly horizons.
The Void-Eaters are dark, spectral creatures with no true form. They are covered in dark rags believed to be art that they have eaten, and they hunt the Melodies. The Melodies then use their abilities to either hide or push the creatures away. Once eaten, they return to the Void/Sacred Null/Beginning, where it is believed that they will eventually reform as Harmonies. The Harmony that held pieces of the said Melody would normally be artistically-inclined in whatever aspect the Melody held.Nova was a world that was split into two parts- living and dead. The dead weren't actually dead, surprisingly. After a Harmony dies, it becomes a Melody and lives in a conjunction with the living world. A Melody generally was eaten by the Voideaters and their spirit and artistic creations would return to the Sacred Null. Think of day and night, only in a more spiritual way. The Melody and Harmony worlds were parallel and could in no way contact one another. Instead, a Melody's reason to exist was to imprint art onto the real world. They are the essence of music and drawings, stories and dreams, and Post just happened to be reborn as a Musician.
Instead of gaining the ability to create beautiful visual works of art, he gained his Mesa's and was able to create sound from the world around him. All of his past life was forgotten and he began his second life in a world much different from the first. In Nova, the Melodies had many things to fear. Living in the shadows of the true world, the Melodies found many dangers hiding in the tall, dark buildings. The Melodies had to band together to clear out these abodes of the disgusting, dark, spectral Voideaters so that they could rest away from the creatures who ate the very souls of their compadres.
Luckily, the individual powers of the Melody natures banded together were a force to be reckoned with.
Posthumous found his abode within a skyscraper, and often found himself creating beautiful music, but could never appreciate it. His reason to exist held no true meaning on this world- see, the music never reached the others as emotionally as it did him. Even the music of others touched his heart like a fire, strengthening his will to exist in this strange, pale world. Thus, when the Heartless did come, he found himself able to actually fight them, while his fellows' abilities just hit the walls behind them.
And when he woke up on Traverse Town with his Mesa's sitting in the snow behind him he didn't know what to think. At first he was upset, but in time he began to realize that it honestly didn't matter. These new worlds that he had discovered held so much more potential than his own and he wanted to be the first to dive in.
