In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

[Tia Dalma]
Within a recessive room, deep inside the quaint little shoppe, Tia Dalma sat at a small, wooden table. She sits, head bowed and eyes closed, holding her hands cupped before her mouth as she mumbles incantations incoherently. The words she utters under her breath are ancient and lost to Man.
Opening her eyes, suddenly, she threw her hands down. Thrown down, is an assortment of bones and crab claws and legs. Tia Dalma stared at the crude objects and their positions for a long while. Satisfied, she scooped them back up and began again. She repeated this process three times over. Ever since she had come to this world, the world called Radiant Garden, she has received one bad omen after another. Being a Goddess bound in human form, Tia Dalma is not one to outright ignore an omen, good or bad. And when several come to her again and again? For some time, Tia Dalma had felt that this world was not right for her, that she would need to find another new home; though she had no way of traveling between worlds. Hopefully, that won't be for some time.
Tia Dalma stopped after a while of this, hearing a faint noise near the front of her temporary home. She had put up protections against malevolent beings after her first... visitor. Tia Dalma was hoping she would get at least a few good customers; maybe even one willing to pay... anything.

((Once poked at the idea of playing Jack.../man, I should have done it! D<
Ah well, I'll play with Tia Dalma.))
The new shop had perked the interest of the Queen of Dalmasca when she first say it, but it worried her at first. However, curiosity overruled fear, and she finally decided to enter and see what was in the building. As she opened the door and let it close, she looked around before noticing that there was a woman behind a counter, and she approached the counter, watching as she seemed to be rolling crab shells.
"Pardon me, but I was curious as to what you do here? The shop is quite unlike one I've seen before."

Tia Dalma raised her head at the voice of the girl. She set her Seer's utensils aside as the girl approached the counter. "Aye, girl. Dis shoppe es... uniik. Onliik aneh oh-tter. Whaat you sii all abou' you is what I offer... for ah price." As she spoke, she walked around from behind the counter, throwing her arms around and gesturing at all the unusual objects within her shoppe's walls.
"Whaat I offer is liik not'ing of dis world, any world." She leaned in close to the young woman before her. "You hold ah great... destony. Whaat is you nemeh?"

((Nah, I read it fluently, like the nerd I am. xD))
"My name is Que...just Ashe Dalmasca. I am from a world called Ivalice, one much unlike this one, and I recently found my ship...however, it is unoperational."
As the woman mentioned she had a great "destiny", Ashe froze and her eyes widened in surprise.
"Yes, you could say that...I am on a mission to find my friends. However, all I've found is more and more questions, instead of answers."
With a twirl on a booted foot, she looked in the woman's eyes and smiled.

Tia Dalma smiled toothily at her. "I'ah noun by maneh nemehs, bot you may caall mii Tia Dalma. In dis shoppe... you may fend anshehs tu you kwestahns; bot maneh moor kwestahns may priizent demselfs tu you." Tia Dalma backed away from Ashe slowly, turning to walk around the walls of her shoppe.
The ageless woman stopped before a shelf holding various baubles that looked to come directly from the bottom of the ocean. She rummaged around the shelf before pulling out what looked to be a small box. Tia Dalma slowly walked back to Ashe Dalmasca and presented the box to her. "I offeh dis tu you, f'ee o' chaarj. Mah-be dis wiill halp you fend de anshehs you siik. 'Im who 'ad hit befoor have no uus of hit noa." She opened the box to reveal it to be a truly odd compass.

"I thank you Tia Dalma, but this seems to be a regular compass, if not a little pre-used..."
As she took the compass in hand and opened it, she noticed that it had started to move randomly, and she looked at it in wonder as it kept spinning, then stopped pointing to her right. She turned, confused, for she knew that wasn't north, and walked in the directions it kept turning, finally stopping at a shelf.
As she looked up, she saw something familiar, and picked it up, turning it in her hands.
"Manufactured Nethicite..."
((//OOC:This is a part of her airship she lost. Perhaps Tia Dalma found it in RG?))
Turning to Tia Dalma, she held it to the light, saying:
"This is a piece of my airship, and also very unstable if not kept properly. Is it possible I can atke this off your hands? I'd be willing to pay, if you like."
Then, looking back at the compass, she asked:
"How did it do that?"

(Thought I'd advertise the first customer gets the compass, but I never got the chance lol)
[Tia Dalma]
Tia Dalma smiled at her knowingly. This girl had potential. The former Goddess walked up to a snake hanging from a branch in the ceiling and reached up to let it slither onto her arm and across her shoulders. She began to pet the snake on the head as she turned back to the girl.
Slowly, she asked, "Whaat es iit you waan mos', pin dis worll?" She gestured to the compass. "Dat cumpaas du nutt pont nortt. Bot, it wiill liid you tru'r than de mos' foncy o' cumpaases."
She let the snake slither onto one of the shelves to her left after the creature gave Ashe a leveled stare. "Noa, I wiill aadmut, I haff no uus for soch ah piitty trenkad; bot, I du nutt give aneht'ing awah fo' f'ee wit'ou' guud rahsen. Whaat iis you wiilling tu pay fo' such an oubjiict?"

Once more the door at the shop front creaked open, but this time a handsome silver-haired man stepped over the threshold, violet eyes gazing about his new surroundings before alighting upon the two women.
"Madame," Setzer bowed to the shopkeeper. Then he turned to Ashe. "The old duck knows nothing, nor do the moogles nor any of the other residents of this Garden. A few mention the crash but nothing more. Hopefully you have had more luck than I."
He tread quietly about the small establishment, examining the wares with curiosity. It had been evident before he so much as walked in the shop that its owner was of another world. As Ashe had pointed out earlier, there was no 'Queen' of Radiant Garden, and the wares in the store front seemed like nothing he'd ever before laid eyes upon. He also found that, for the most part, he hadn't the slightest inclination of what any of the items were for.
Though he remembered little of it, Setzer was a man who had traveled far and learned much during his lifetime. His perusal through the oddly stocked shelves was wary, careful. It was as if his subconsciousness was softly reminding him to regard powerful unknown objects with respect, and not play the fool who takes things for as they seem. Inexplicably, this tiny, unassuming shoppe had set his mind on guard.
"Is that the object of our search?" Setzer asked, having reached the women, looking at the material in Ashe's hands with interest. It seemed improbable that a simple compound or mineral could sustain an airship, when the Black Jack had utilized years of technological advancements to achieve flight.

[Tia Dalma]
Tia Dalma had looked to the door as it swung open for another. The young man who swept in was full of confidence. He addressed the Goddess with a bow before turning his sights upon the young Ashe. Tia Dalma knew their next words were not to be public in their own right, so she turned to manage some of her more... conspicuous wares; however, she couldn't help but listen in on the words exchanged. Could you blame her? Being an immortal being with power enough only to offer mortals a nudge in a direction and no further could, after all, become quite boring. Though she often found them frivolous, Tia Dalma found the meager misfortunes of world-bound creatures to be at least somewhat entertaining.
Tia Dalma wasn't completely heartless, either. She would always help those that she was able; and helping this young woman of royalty seemed to be quite fruitful. Surely Jack would make some glamorous return and want his compass back and the wise woman would have no choice but to present it to him, as he justly paid for it. But... There is nothing stopping her from giving circumstances a little push to see how things progress. Who knows, maybe things will take a turn for the better for her and she can find a mortal man gullible enough to release her from the bindings she has, once again, found herself in. She gave the young man behind her a quick glance. Yes, that could easily happen.
Tia Dalma found something on a shelf. This hadn't been here before... It's not uncommon for lost items to appear in her abode. Eventually their owners would come to claim them once again. It is not uncommon for it to happen, but it still doesn't happen often. She slipped the curious new item into one of the folds of her dress, holding onto it for future reference; she may very well find use for it. Tia Dalma was able to do this without the pair's knowing and she turned back to them now, while still giving them the privacy they deserve.

Ashe was interrupted by her companion walking in, giving her the information she wanted, followed by the million-dollar question. She held up the small crystal in her hand to the light.
"The nethicite will suffice in powering the airship for a good week. However, the subject of trade has arisen..."
Turning to Tia Dalma, she said,
"I have nothing of value to trade at the moment, but perhaps we could make a negotiation?"

[Tia Dalma]
Yes, now we come to the good part. The age-old Sea Goddess rarely gives anything away for free. Tia Dalma looked to Jack's compass. He paid a fine price for that; it was fleeting, but good payment nonetheless. She was curious as to what this young lady had to offer her. She was awfully quick to negotiate, Tia Dalma might have to be a bit careful.
"So, anlehton mii, hoa du you prepohse we... niigoti-at?" An easy smile crept onto the woman's face. She momentarily turned to the young man, giving him one of her more sensual grins, before returning her attention to the young royal. She was enjoying meddling in this certain mortal affair, probably a bit too much than need be. Tia Dalma might let them off with... minimal payment, they are new to her shoppe, and she may find a use for the pair later on. Then, Tia Dalma had a thought. Turning to the man to her left, she commanded with outstretched hand, palm up.
"Let mii see ya hend."

(( Psst - threads are typically run with a posting order, which in this case is Tia Dalma, Ashe, Setzer. I wrote this post before I saw your most recent one, but I'll edit. ))
"A week, and then you'd be yet again left stranded," Setzer mused thoughtfully. He reclined upon a nearby shelf, arms crossed with the heel of his boot resting against its wall.
The woman had turned back to determine the price of the lump of Nethicite. As interested as Setzer was in the wares, he had no intention of purchasing anything right then.
Careful, m'lady, he thought, though he dare not speak the words aloud in front of the shopkeeper. He kept his silence, eyes narrowed as he observed the negotiations. If the trade betrayed any dubiance of nature he would step in. It wasn't so much that he didn't trust the woman who ran the odd store; he simply felt that something of value to her would not be quite what was considered tradable worth in his world, or Ashe's.
"Let mii see ya hend."
Expression guarded, Setzer held out his palm. He deemed now an inappropriate time to revert to his womanizing antics.

(Figured there must have been some kind of order determining posts, but I didn't figure it out XD Sorry I skipped you T-T)
[Tia Dalma]
Hastily, Tia Dalma took the young man's hand in her own, pulling him closer so that she may have a better look. Tia Dalma studied his palm for a long while, tracing the lines of it with a finger several times. She turned his hand over and over, inspecting his entire hand in great detail before returning to his palm. She traveled down his wrist for a moment before studying his palm a moment longer.
Tia Dalma raised her piercing gaze to the young man's eyes. She stared at him for what seemed like hours. It was only minutes later, however, when she suddenly pull ed away from him, mumbling to herself. She wandered back into the depths of her store, rummaging through who knew what. Clanking and rattling preceded her return to the store front. In her hands, she carried a small jam jar that seemed to be filled with water. "De day I gave away t'ings of' f'ee is de day Darkness flees de worlls for all edernedy." Her face was the picture of pure unpleasantry when she came back to the man. "I regred dis soom day, mark mii wor's. Here!" She thrust the jar into the man's hands without waiting for him to take it. Her job done, she returned her attention to the girl.
"Noa, de paymend 'efor' I gave away somet'ing else dat I meht regred!"
"Perhaps I could be an escort for you to other worlds, once I manage to find something people around here called a Warp Core. They said it may work on my ship, and I'm sure by traveling to other worlds, we could find some most useful treasures."
Ashe had been thinking of this while Tia Dalma and Setzer had been talking, and deemed it appropriate to invite this woman, however strange she was. She knew much about odd bits and ends, and could be of some use to the duo later.
(( No problem. xD Basically, with post order, everyone should post before the first person gets their turn again. A new arrival to the thread doesn't normally reset the order, but adds to it. For example: earlier, it should have been You, Chris, You, Chris, You, Chris, You, Me, Chris, You, Me, Chris, You, Me, Chris.
Hope that makes a tad more sense. I didn't explain it all too well. ))
Setzer watched the woman fuss over his hand warily, but did not break eye contact when she caught his gaze. When she finally let go he held his hand before him curiously, examining his own palm and wrist as if in interest of what she saw in it.
He couldn't hide his surprise when a large jar was thrust into him. Bemusedly, Setzer caught it, glancing at Ashe with one silver brow raised. But she was paying him no mind. In fact, she was offering the foreign women her flight services. Inviting her to travel with them, from what he gathered.
"Do we have a deal, Lady Dalma?"
Dalma. It was the first time Setzer heard her name. It was ironic; if she accepted, he'd be spending quite some time with her in the future (he'd long since realized that he'd be accompanying Ashe for a while longer yet) - yet technically she was a complete and utter stranger, even many times more unfathomable and difficult to understand than the average new acquaintance. For a moment he considered his predicament, curious as to why he wasn't entirely thrilled with the thought of being drafted for a journey with two women. It was a moment before he realized that his reserve was due to the fact that the Dalma woman unnerved him.
He chose not to dwell on the inexplicable feeling, otherwise content with the notion that they'd soon be on their way again. Setzer was always one to love the company.
