In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

o3o The only sensible thing that pops in my head is that they're flashbacks.
(Lea lacks his likkle tattoos, and still hadn't been renamed to Axel, during Org induction ceremony of x's. Could he be a nobody at the time...maybe just to say Org ranks are what...when their nobodies was found and after the original apprentice crew it's followed by two other Radiant Garden residents)
BBS was 10 yrs before KH, so you have that long gap of time to deal with and obviously enough to age. Sure Radiant Garden was invaded by heartless via Maleficent 9 yrs before KH1, but it seems they stayed o3o and probably became roomies with Malefypoo.
With the KH timeline they pretty much touched everything except that 10 yr gap, which they are already showing with a.) older apprentices b.) Malefypoo vomiting about her mingling with Xehanort and knowledge of the princess of hearts, and by this time she only was succesful in getting 3 (Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora)
I'm presuming the question that trailer snipet bring 'how did they became nobodies?' Sure the obvious answer D: they fell to darkness made heartless...yadda yadda yadda, but there's obviously some details and more to it since Xehanort recalls enough of memory to summon Master Xehanort's keyblade, whiiich can what unlock one's heart to be exposed.
o-o With that sticky guessing, one can imply that some of their fall to darkness wasn't willingly or moreso not even caused by their experimentation...but one guy going pollo loco.
I wonder now when does the 'traveling to sleeping worlds' end. I just don't get how Space Paranoids would be apart of that when it's in Radiant Garden, which is awakened and well
I am assuming it has NOTHING AT ALL to do with flashbacks. I'm fairly certain the events are happening in realtime and in the present on account of the facts that:
1) There is no way little Ienzo would have grown THAT MUCH in a single year. Nor Axel, who was Ven's height in BbS. He would have had to have grown over a foot and a half in a single year. Unlikely. Given that Zexion is taller than Riku and looks to be Riku's age as he appeared in KH2, there would have to be at LEAST a few years between the two, OR Nobodies age after they split from their Heart, which is already a highly contended idea (which Ventus will prove or disprove when we get back to him in 3d or KH3).
2) A complete and reformed Axel would go by his original name Lea, and would likely have reappeared without his teardrop tats if he had gained them after becoming a Nobody (which BbS, he didn't have them).
3) The focus on Organization members Axel (Lea), Zexion (Ienzo), and Lexaeus (Aeleus). All three were stronly hinted at being much more innocent in their original lives, and less corrupted on a personal level. Lea was a carefree kid, Ienzo was an innocent orphan adopted by Ansem, and Aeleus was a stronghearted and stalwart royal guard, alot of which carried over into his Nobody. It would stand to reason that these three would be the best bets on having returned to a more "good guy" role post-KH2.
And Maleficent has nothing to do with it at all. Ansemanort did that a year after arriving after the events of BbS, and the Heartless invasion was due to the Apprentices' experimentations. Maleficent would arrive some short time after the place was a graveyard and set up shop in the old castle. This was after she had gained some degree of control over her own Heartless and laid waste to the Enchanted Dominion.
So will 3d have the answers? Yes. But I doubt these are flashbacks that unveil them.

Counter to #1: I'm not saying he grew in a year or that these flashbacks takes place a year after KHBBS, but more so the years between post-BBS and KH1 ...9 yrs of ?. We never knew precisely WHEN they fell to darkness or became nobodies; it was just a general detail tossed out there vaguely bettwen BBS and KH1 to make their nobody existence and Ansem possible.
Counter to #2: I doubt they removed the tattoos just because he reformed and complete.
(actually we have no idea what happened to his heartless. They made the heartless + nobody equation a big deal enough JUST to bring back Xehanort; I think they would be consistent in showing that...rather than a janky "heey rememebr that little shadow you slayed yeah 1 out of 439395305325825 thaaaat was meee" )
I find that a janky design choice (removal of the tats) just to symbolize 'oh he's complete'. There aren't any connections making it very irrelvant.
Personally I think the design was done to display them before they were nobodies hence the slight differences in appearance; pssh how much can they truly change to emphasize the past anyway when wedged betweens BBS designs and KH2 designs?
Designer: -3- Uuuh what about Lea...we have this squirt...then we have Axel D: uuuuuuuuh REMOVE THE TATTOOS Crew: YEEES!
Smart design decisions are to help viewer identify info; I'm sure this info is saying D: 'yo this is Lea befoore becoming Axel'.
Yep I'm pretty sure there's flashbacks involved. If recall there's a trailer bit where you see Vexen and Ienzo @.@ on the floor with lovely darkness wiggling around them, then Xehanort whacks Braig (who's all black haired and not greyed) with the keyblade. So with that...not all of this can be present time some of these aaare flashbacks.
Counter #3: I only mentioned Maleficent, because she appears in the trailer...telling Sir Mickey old news of the 'seven purest lights' >> I don't see how resourceful that information is for the present, but in the past it would be the tone setter that leads to the shunnanigans of KH1. If it's a past event and Lea pops in, then infers that this Lea is pre-Axel and not complete Axel.
Well, BbS happened ten years before KH1. Hollow Bastion happened nine years before KH1. When Maleficent showed up in the already-established Hollow Bastion nine years ago, there was no Ansem, there was no Xehanort (though she already knew the Master of the same name), and there was no Apprentices nor Royal Guard attempting to protect the place.
A la Ansem's Secret Reports:
It appears my other five apprentices, believing it was for the sake of research, stared deep into the darkness and were pulled into it. Even, Ienzo, Braig, Dilan, and Aeleus... They have ceased to be human. I, too, have had everything taken away from me, banished to a hollow realm of nothingness.
All this before mention of being banished into the Darkness as Ansem ponders the fate of his people, still calling Radiant Garden "this world" in the first line of the official entry. All in one entry. If that's not proof of everything happening in quick succession, you won't find any better or official outside of Nomura laying it all down in an annual timeline, or this side of fanfiction: The Apprentices fell to Darkness before Ansem the Wise was banished away as his World fell, which happened BEFORE Maleficent came to Hollow Bastion. Hence, the Apprentices all became Heartless in that one year between 9 and 10 years before KH1.
This would mean that Nobodies DO age.
As for Lea, I fail to see how the removal of Axel's eye tats is a "janky" design choice. It's a very logical way to go about showing he is a complete being again, and really, given what little was ever shown about Lea, the ONLY thing design-wise that can be done to show a change.
Lea had no facial markings. Axel did. I don't see any logic flaw in that and it's a pretty subtle yet substantial change in his character design. Unless you would prefer he went back to wearing the tackiest clothing style we've seen in any KH character yet, what with his orange vest and yellow hankie around his neck. KH3d apparently only had the budget to give one character a haircut, and it went to Riku.
Making Lea a 14 year old again? THAT would be a janky design choice. Trying to pull him off NOW in the timeline, while being younger than Sora? Dear lord no.
From what I saw in it, I can think of two things from the game.
-Some of the worlds that Sora and Riku go are not only stuck in "sleep" but also in time, hence why they visit worlds where Mickey and Pinocchio are in.
-Axel isn't the only one who seems to come back as a Somebody, Braig shows up as well.
-MX appears multiple times as his younger self, seems like he's hiding something.
-Sora starts to have a few doubts about himself and his light, I'm guessing.
If anyone has any other ideas they'd like to share...well...then share them!

Braig: I still look like my Nobody? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*shoves Braig in a box*
My reactions:
--I like seing Axel, Namine, Xion, and Roxas in CGI <3 As well as Xemmy<3 --OMG, you get to treat your Dream Eaters like Pokemon. IT'S EVOLVING! --Apparently, Lea's eye marks DO have something to do with being a Nobody. --SUFFERING THE LORD'S WRATH --NekuxShiki forever. --I will not have Joshua without Sho. --Xemnas is a ninja and pins Mickey down by the face. LIKE A BOSS. --Red-eyed dude at the end? What? Anybody have any idea what that's about?
...Red Eyes from BbS Final Mix? O__________X
Oh, and was that Vanitas's Sentiment a little before that? It kinda looked like Terra's helmet...
This game looks amazing. I'm so glad I bought a 3DS, now.
It was quite the nice trailer @.@ so much loveliness and excitement for the upcoming game, as well as a bit of mindfuck at the end. *rewatches to write down notes*
- First scene is definately located in THE NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL (at least in my eyes) and Vanitas somehow lives within this young, teenage Xehanort. Lovely keyhole at the glass stained window :3 (I expected it to be in one of the bells T.T)
- Nice CGI sequence, summarizing most past games and giving us a glimpse to the future AKA KH3. I kinda wanted to see BBS's trio in there somehow though, but it was lovely nonetheless.
- Quasimodo riding a Dream Eater elephant in the Festival of Fools made me LOL.
- Bit ehh about the Tron: Legacy world... mainly the character models. They're decent enough for a handheld system though and the story looks promising.
- Country of the Musketeers seems like the the mini game world.
- Prankster's Paradise certainly looks interesting I've been wanting the rest of Pinocchio's story to be told and apparently SE has as well *pokes hidden Days files*.
- Symphony of Sorcery: FANTASIA WORLD FAWK YEAH.
- Sora trying to make Tron remember was a brilliant detail. Brilliant, simply outstanding... and Quorra's hawt :3
- Riku pep talk to Quasimodo made me cheer with happiness.
- Mickey/Riku scene's sweetness level fell off the charts.
- Dream Eaters.. I'm not too keen on pulling a DQM/Pokemon crossover with these. I dunno... it just isn't appealing to me.
- Roxas saying "Got that memorized?", reminding Axel of their promise.
- Lea wakes up and finds out he's complete once again! YAYNESS
- "You too shall receive the Lord's judgement!" Gotta love the Asshat and his awesomeness.
- Evil Clu wants the damn keyblade. Silly villain, it'll probably port back to Sora once you restore Tron.
- MASTER AQUA FPKGLDMKLGMHVFSWTYGFVJBFKG THEY REMEMBER HER, AT LAST.
- Braig's sarcasm makes me laugh my ass off. I love him... even though he somehow invaded dream world. Perhaps he's part of the dream as well?
- Sora might be having memory flashes of those hearts he keeps within him. Come on jump about the Sora Express!
- Lea is probably talking about rescuing either Roxas or Xion (or both) with Yen Sid.
- Wow... so, Master Xehanort is now able to have his heartless and nobody running around, doing his dirty work for him. WHAT THE HELL.
- SORA SURROUNDED BY TWELVE OF THE ORGANIZATION MEMBERS OMFG WTH
- Vanitas, Lingering Will, Namine, Xion and Sora, Riku and Kairi, Terra and Aqua, Freaky Red-Eyes (CALLING BBS'S SECRET BOSS: UNKNOWN >O), Ansem's Guardian and Sora sitting among the Organization... just, wow.
- The heck. Why is Ursala there I thought they said they were going to have all new Disney worlds. Maybe just a boss somewhere maybe.
-The Organization is coming back or at least some to there somebody selves. I like it.
- Frollo has epic quotes FTW. But, really I'm hoping he goes all, "And god said he would cast all the sinners down to Hell". Yeah.
- I'm excited for pinochio's world. Wished it was in 358, but this will be nice.
- Tron world seems interesting. I like the models, but they just seem out of place next to Sora. Yes I know they are from live-action movies, but still they could of made them mroe like the PoC world models. Story seems cool though.
- I'm hoping we release at least Aqua or Ven probably will , then KH3 will be saving Terra.
- FANTASIA, THE RETURN OF CHERNABOG MAYBE.
- I like the musketeers. There world seems like it will be fun also.
- Fianlly according to my gamestop, here is the date they said they would get KH 3D at. 1/1/13. Yeah FML.
Well, the Mysterious Figure's identity, or rather appearance, has been confirmed. Will not release the info due to spoiler reasons, yo!
But it's certain that he manipulates time and has golden eyes. There are many theories, but the most apt one (including spoilers) is inside of this link:
Please feel free to read through the entire thing, but I found this alexis person's theory to be quite possibly the best one I've heard in all the damn months people have been going on about this mystery man who could go back in time.
There's a possibility that Xehanort's Heartless/Nobody are not real at all, but a test to further strengthen the two Heroes of Light. So we will see. Once again, read alexis' stuff, it's totally badass. But it has spoilers. :/
Why do you insist on creating a new and now THIRD thread for a topic that is already in discussion on the same sub board? It's getting highly cluttered in here for no reason.
-Axel isn't the only one who seems to come back as a Somebody, Braig shows up as well.
Already established.
-MX appears multiple times as his younger self, seems like he's hiding something.
Already established.
-Sora starts to have a few doubts about himself and his light, I'm guessing.
Yeah, I didn't see any of that in the trailer. At all. Sora is a confident and competent young man the likes of which has never been seen before in the KH universe. I found absolutely no indication his spirit was wavering.
- SORA SURROUNDED BY TWELVE OF THE ORGANIZATION MEMBERS OMFG WTH
Speculation. For all being the Organization, they all appear hooded and enigmatic. More than likely representations of memories, their full selves, or nothing more than an illusion made by Braig and/or Young Xehanort. They WERE his arrow-gun bolts that spawned them, after all.
...and Sora sitting among the Organization... just, wow.
Though details on the room are slight and few, I'd be surprised if it was NOT the Room of Sleep that Ventus was left in during BbS. There is no discernible reason for Sora to have a chair in Where Nothing Gathers.

Apologies, I failed to clarify that most of my post wasn't actually that serious as people apparently XD thought it was. I agree with you here; I doubt these "manifestations" are the real deal. Probably more of an illusion to confuse Sora.

...It's the Realm of Sleep? *pokes Sora and Riku's youthful appearances* The room looks nothing like the Room of Sleep, plus several chairs are spotted in that scene... all similar to the ones located in Where Nothing Gathers. Though this may be pure and utter "speculation", I'm pretty much betting on a dream-like TWTNW.
And nothing about his identity is revealed. Only that he's the same guy (which was speculated), and that he manipulates time (which we all knew).
This answers itself. The thoughts regarding Mysterious Figure were confirmed by Nomura and now they're considered as facts for any future speculation. It's more like a thing we saw coming XD but we weren't quite sure about; nothing wrong with confirming the connection.
