In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

I began posting threads like this one in the Staff Board but guess what? I haven't gotten many opinions or suggestions on it. Big surprise, huh? Only about 4 or 5 staff members bothered to say anything so now I'm asking the members to help recreate this site and help solve some of our organizational problems.
I am going to make this announcement right now as well -- It is not completely official but I am deeply considering leaving the site after all of the problems on this list have been sorted out and the staff can take care of themselves. You guys deserve a much better admin than I have been...so I'm going to try to redeem some of my respect by solving as many of our problems as possible.
Goals: - everything in the staff system needs to be reorganized and sorted; including getting new staff members and removing others - the plot needs to be rewritten and made easier to understand and execute (I propose we at least pause the plot right now or just start over all together after we revamp it) - the rules need to be looked at and moved around - the thread policy needs to be redone - the keyblade list needs to be updated and redone - the character lists have to be updated and redone - the enemy list needs to be finished - all plots in the worlds need to be completed - new site rules need to be added and reinforced (especially we need to be reinforcing the intermediate/advanced RPer rule...)
That's my list so far. Please feel free to post more here and I'll add them. Each item will be crossed out when it is completed.
Please share your opinions on these issues. I will also be making separate threads for each issue so don't talk about each in this thread. Just please give opinions about what needs to be added or taken from the list.
Trying to help where I can, here. You might already be aware, but if you're looking for pictures of the Keyblades and Enemy lists, Keyblade's and pics can be found here, while images on the Heartless and Nobodies can be found by scrolling down on the pages. They have full lists of both on the respective pages.
Gods above, a WORLD MOD system! I've proposed this through Nella already on the staff board, but I'll go ahead and do a synopsis.
Each world has one world mod who is in charge of keeping the world running and interesting. This means playing all untaken world characters, making the worlds have PLOT, deciding where the world heart is, bringing in random heartless, etc.
What this would solve: When people make a thread, say, to find a world heart, they actually know where it is.
People who have world characters have people to RP with who aren't just OCs.
Worlds with no world characters taken could be visited and NOT have threads consisting of just two OCs.
Problems: Who would have the position- I recommend the selection process be treated like a mod position, where people interested in becoming a world mod list the worlds they would be interested in and their qualifications for the job and the admin and/or mods decide . People RPing with themselves- As one person would have multiple characters, if multiple should be in a thread there could be issues. To fix that, I suggest that A) People should be advised against modding a world in which they have a character (For example, if I took Coliseum, Hades at this point would have no threads except with other people I play.) B) Should multiple people controlled by one person enter a thread, they post separately. Say I was modding Agrabah and had two OCs playing with my Genie (Order OC1 Genie OC2). If I bring in Jafar, the turn order is (OC1 Genie OC2 Jafar), not (OC1 Genie/Jafar OC2).
All in all, the faults are easily overcome and the benefits would aid the site immensely. I and others here have seen the system work before (admittedly with one person controlling NPCs for the entire site, not having it divided) and I'm sure it could work now.
One thing that I would like to see is a "what you need to know before you play on this world" thread. The people who have the world characters would post important things about that world.
Such as (For RG); If you are in town, and a heartless or nobody, YOU WILL BE ATTACKED BY THE CLAYMORES.
I think that this sort of thing would be helpful for new players to get oriented.
Also, It would be wonderful if the RGRUC Organization could be accepted.

I REALLY like this idea and I plan to have it a part of version 5.
As for the heartless/nobody list, that is being addressed. I am working on that.
I'd also like to ask for assistance in writing up the KH-verse versions of the FF timelines for the various games. Seven and Eight have been more or less covered, but other than that, we're still needing definitive versions. I would like to be able to write the entire thing up as a thread/external link and post it up, but I'm not dictating other games.
If you have a character from another FF game, writing up in detail the entire timeline/plot and sending it to me would be helpful for compilation. Just a note.
Despite Radiant Garden taking the place of those worlds? Sources do state that the Garden is the homeworld for Leon and the crew that resides there. In the KH-verse, there is no FFVII or FFVIII World.
Fair enough, just so long as there's no confusion about it. Leon's profile in KH2 specifically labels Radiant Garden as his homeworld, as do other sources. I just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page.
For some time he took refuge in a different town, but thanks in part to Sora's help, Leon was able to reclaim this, his hometown. Now he works tirelessly towards its restoration.
RG takes the place of the homeworld of all the FF characters who live there. According to Nomura, since the writer didn't have much of a complete sense of history for all the FF characters they added to the cast, many were split, and those who weren't were accumulated and given Radiant Garden as a default homeworld, so no Gaia exists within Kingdom Hearts.
[Edit: I'm not picking at what we've established here, having them on the site is fine, I'm just pointing out they didn't exist in Kingdom Hearts as a video game.]
This also explains why characters like Seifer, Squall, and Selphie all have such varying backgrounds in the game. The same writer wasn't completely aware that they had strong connections as characters other than being from the same game.
[Edit 2: This whole thing is also entirely counter-productive to the point of this thread, so let's get back to the brainstorming!]
Many of these issues have been addressed, readdressed, refined, re-readdressed and with little result. Months ago, you may recall several ideas presented for forum discussion and instead of discussion, there was general consensus that new ideas were bad.
Well here they are again for kicks:
Job Assignments:
To make things run smoother, a new system of moderators and teams will be organized.
The Academy will be in charge of reviewing profiles, accepting, rejecting, and submitting them for rp training.
They will also be responsible for the training process until they feel comfortable allowing the applicant to rp on the main boards.
The Academy will have the right to review previously accepted canon characters and submit them for training or put them on probation if they so desire.
The team:
1) 2) 3)
The Historians will be in charge of keeping track of the Worlds and updating its history as the rp continues. They will keep careful watch on all plot-threads, making sure that the rprs continue to follow the general rules of the site.
They will act as both record-keepers and moderators.
The team: 1) * Radiant Garden * Pride Lands *Traverse Town
2) * Twilight Town * Halloween Town * Agrabah
3) * Destiny Islands * World * Olympus
4) * Disney Castle * The World That Never Was * Insert World Here
In addition, I want to point out a great idea Gorrad mentioned over MSN, regarding "DMs" for Worlds; someone who looks at a scene and says, "Hmm, this is a good place for a Heartless attack," or "These characters are about to look for a character we don't have yet. I'd better fill in or create something else to keep the rp moving." Some characters will probably never be applied for, such as various Greek gods in Olympus, or some of the nameless lionesses in Simba's Pride. World Mods might be considered World DMs.
Site Maintenance:
This job is divided into two parts:
One person will be in charge of keeping the codes clean and tidy, fixing bugs, fielding technical problems. This person will also keep the Welcome board updated.
1)
The other will be in charge of keeping the boards, clean, neat and organized, including the final profiles board, the canon character list, contests, enemy lists, etc.
2)
Welcome Committee:
These people will be in charge of fielding questions and posts in the Arrival/Departure board. They will greet newcomers and make them feel at home. They will also keep the staff informed if canon characters leave.
The team:
1) 2)
Communications
This person will be in charge of fielding questions both posted in the Questions and Suggested board, and from new rprs. All questions from new rpers should be directed to Communications. This person is responsible for making sure everything is clear and understood between the rpers and the admin. Rpers, think of this person as your mommy.
1)
Any of these teams should be able to propose changes for discussion.
Plot:
At the moment we have a large, very complicated site plot that depends on at least 26 members to be active and organized. In order to create a site-plot that can maintain itself, we must launch something much broader, and we must commit to following the laws of time and space by using a modified version of the Plot-Threads.
A new site-plot should require only three members or so to be consistently active to function properly.
I had proposed earlier that those members be: Hades, an Unnamed force behind the Keyblades, and the Door, but it could alternately be: Kingdom Hearts, Keyblades, and Heartless in General, depending on what was decided on for the plot. The main thing is, however, there must be a presented problem and the possibility for both resolution of that problem, and the lack of resolution for that problem.
The thread-policy would work accordingly:
Each player may rp in as many non-plot threads as he wishes, without regard for timelines and space. Their doings will not be recorded in the World’s history. They are free rp, each thread having no direct relationship with any other thread, unless specified by the rpers present.
Each player may have one and only one plot-related thread at any given time. It must move on the same time-line as all the other plot-related threads. This means that if a character is talking to someone in Traverse Town in a plot-related thread, he may not participate in a tournament taking place at the same time in the Coliseum. All plot-related threads must be marked with a * so that the historians can find it and record.
This also means that participating rpers, must pay close attention to the location and time of each thread. There may not be more than one thread in the same location, at the same time.
Proposed Given Circumstances:
A word about this. The best rps work when there is a combination of strict guidelines and creative freedom for the rpers. Given Circumstances are the unalterable facts of the rp, that the characters are forced to work with and around. Basically, it means creating an environment, a situation, sticking the characters in it and seeing what happens.
It means, anyone could end up being the hero or the villain, canon, non-canon, or world.
GS: Each person, big or small, destined for greatness, or to sweep up the coffee shop after hours, is comprised of two essential parts.
First and foremost, there is the Heart; the center of emotion, compassion, spirit, and feeling that drives a person to perform deeds for good or ill. Within each Heart lives the potential to bring destruction and creation. Light and Darkness dwell, forever side-by-side both at odds and both dependent upon the other to remain in existence, for it is Light that creates Shadows, and Shadows that give meaning to Light.
There have been those who thought to experiment with matters of the Heart and dissect and isolate the essences of Light and Dark. Horror and chaos followed.
It was soon discovered that not every Heart possessed Light and Dark in equal parts. When separated, the Darkness within manifested itself in the guise of a Dark creature, straight from a child’s nightmare, ironically named: Heartless. In soothe these very creatures were the Hearts themselves, given the power to move and act on animalistic instincts, propelled by the power of Darkness.
They seek, not the Hearts beating within chests, but the Darkness within those Hearts, ever wishing to grow stronger, attracted to the power. They prey upon the powerful Heart tainted with Darkness…and every Heart has Darkness in it. As they destroy, the Heart of the World on which they consume grows Dark as well, until it is rotted from the inside out, and so dies.
Some are more powerful than others. Those who’s Hearts were all ready tainted with Darkness, the Light all but a flickering within became the most terrible Heartless of all. Their powers were great and their fierce lust for more Darkness greater. The greatest of them all retained a human form, and called himself Ansem. He is the only one of his kind, thus far. Few in history have ever been so vile and black of Heart as he.
Second, there is the body; the vehicle with which each person goes about his life with, carrying out the acts dictated by the Heart. Each body in possession of a mind that retains the memories of all past deeds, giving each person an identity, a history, and a place in the World to live and function.
When the Heart is split, the Light within, banished to Darkness, manifests itself as a shell of its former being; a Nobody. Without a Heart, the Nobody is not driven to create or destroy, however, the mind remembers who he is. He retains his identity, his history, and physical place in the World. It is through this that the Nobody acts. His deeds are a reflection of his former self, a vague sketch of what he may have been like when he was whole.
Some of these Nobodies had such powerful personalities, that they remembered much, and grew powerful under the direction of a leader. They were the head-strong, self-defined characters of their Worlds, set on their track, and nothing could stop them, even after death. They continued on because it was what they had always done. The musician with no Heart does not play because he is passionate about music, but because his mind continues to recite the familiar chords, making connections between lyric and melody, on into eternity. The gambler gambles because he cannot think of anything else, forever calculating the odd, round and round the eternal roulette of his mind. So it goes…
And there is magic.
Light is a powerful thing. Just as the Darkness made the Heartless strong, the Light empowers the Nobodies to do extraordinary things.
The Keyblade:
A marvelous weapon with mysterious origins, the Keyblade seems to have a mind of its own, orienting itself, for now, with Light. It has been prophesized that the one who wields it will open the Door. What precisely this entails is soon to be discovered.
It is known that the Keyblade chooses its wielder based on the strength of Heart. They are a rarity.
It further separates the Dark from the Heartless, banishing the Darkness to the shadows. The Hearts, with no body, float away to Kingdom Hearts: the Heart of All, where it lies in keep.
It has the power to cut down a Nobody, though many have been brought back by mysterious means.
Aside from the Keyblades held by Sora, Riku, Kairi and the King, some decided number would be available on World Destiny to be granted and taken away as the Keyblade sees fit.
An unknown staff member would keep an eye on who passes through and will grant the Keyblade to who he deems worthy of it. The Keyblade may also be taken away, based on character development.
There will be no applying for Keyblades and no asking for them. Characters will receive them or not receive them.
The Door: (Here is where I'm just being creative. I like the idea, but other solutions may apply).
The Door of Possibility has been kept careful secret for many lifetimes, namely because no one has sough it out. It is neither hidden, nor in plain sight, nor is it affiliated with Light or Dark. Its existence is for that of the seeker to understand and find out. A mystery beyond that of mortal comprehension and a phenomenon larger than life, the Door exists somewhere or anywhere. All connections to the Door, about the Door, regarding the Door or vaguely affiliated with the door will be run by one person.
Now there is a problem: Heartless and Nobodies. There is also a mysterious solution: The Door. Heartless and Nobodies can organize. Heroes can organize. They can do whatever they like to create conflict. If six people playing original Nobodies on the boards decide to get together and say, "Hey! Let's do something nasty to a World!" Then they DO it. If a few good guys notice this and say, "Whoa, we're not cool with that! We're gonna make a plan and fight you!" Then they do it. Spontaneously, on their own. The plot is flexible...kinda like real life. Anything is possible. A Nobody might become disenchanted with being in Org XIII and leave. Sora might become sympathetic to the Nobodies and try to help them. Who knows?
Anyways these are just ideas. Take them or leave them. I'll be on the boards.
Whew.... As long as that took to read, Aryn, I much agree with you on many of what you have stated and pointed out. The history of the worlds bit was what caught my attention, and if it is to come into action, I certainly would have no problem with being the one that does it. I have a lot of free time on my hands most of the time.
As for the nameless/various characters that you have pointed out... why not have a special group of people that don't mind, just jump in with some certain Heartless or attacks just to keep the RP moving along.... It really is quite disappointing to have an RP just start up to die without being completed.
The DM thing.... Well, I can't really argue with that one way or another, however, it's a good idea, nonetheless! As there are people who have certain characters that are the main character there, i.e. Simba in the Pried Lands.
I was also really thinking hard about that Heartless thing, as Heartless take the darkness in hearts to gain power and thus turning what they took the heart from into Nobodies... wait, is that right? Ima need to reread up on that.... ANYHOW... just like with Keyblades being random to choose their owners, OCs and other characters being turned into Heartless/Nobodies should be implemented as well, I think. It's just a personal opinion....
Keyblades.... Definitely something I've been thinking about.... I mean, Keyblades do choose their wielders by the strength of their heart, as Aryn had stated in the above. I strongly agree on having a secret staff member or members going through and reading a lot of the RPs for character development and seeing if one character or another really deserves to be a wielder. Also, I strongly agree on the fact that there should be no applying for Keyblades. Aryn has pointed out several facts about wielding a Keyblade... and if she didn't point them out, I would have.
Now... some other things that I would like to see is perhaps more worlds.... I mean... what if someone is to want to create Ariel or Mulan? Where would they RP, if anywhere? There's no Atlantica... no Land of Dragons.... It's just; it'd be really interesting to RP in those areas as well instead of only having about... I guess, two-thirds of what there is already. To be honest, it was the only thing that disappointed me when I joined up on the site....
So.... I guess I’d like to see:
Agrabah Atlantica Beast's Castle Land of Dragons
And… I think I’m missing maybe one or two…
Anyways... I suppose that's just my two cents for the time being....
