In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.
The icons you see across the site are from FontAwesome, an amazing icon library.
All images on this site belong to their respective owners or creators. Kingdom Hearts: World Destiny does not claim ownership of anything except our unique story.
All Original characters are the intellectual property of their respective RPers. Do not steal any characters or other creative works.
All Canon Characters belong to the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Square Enix and Disney.
I actually hate that idea a lot. It seems to me that it will force people to take characters that don't fit them. I would be very bad a playing most of the cannon, and I wouldn't want them in my head anyway.
With a rule like that - Seph wouldn't be Sephiroth, he didn't pick up Xigbar till later. I probably wouldn't have joined in the first place. I needed to play an OC for a while to get my feet under me, and then I picked up a World. Not a cannon, a world. Our current Xemnas started with Leon. I could go on.
I think I would also result in a lot more turnover, and that can mess things up way worse than not having the person around. This is from experience - do you know how many Clouds we went through before this one stuck around?
I would rather wait, write around the person, that have someone who didn't fit and couldn't play the person but had been made to playing my traveling companion, my best friend, my beloved. This may have a lot to do with the way I play, but that is how I feel.
I agree with Serif. Why must we limit peoples creativity. After all thats what Rping is all about. My idea is to make their third Character a CANNON. That way they have some exprience in Rping here in World Destiny.

Just to make it clear, the idea wasn't meant to "limit" their creativity. They still have their creativity. It was only to aid the fact that this site's plot is too dependent on canon and possibly world characters. Look at the situation now, we are only permitted to have one canon for they can be evenly distributed, but they are not even being picked. We have more original characters than anything, and the plot isn't transcending because it majorly effected by canons.
For example, how much of a plot or success would this site be if there weren't effective Dark XII and Organization XIII?
The other Keyblade wielders must travels to all lesser worlds and defend them against the Dark XII and Organization XIII, or darkness could befall everyone. How far will each groups’ plots go? Will Kingdom Hearts be seized by anyone?
Now that's the little explanation. Also despite it all, people creativity are limited, so please refrain from making such statement. We can create anything we want, but not everything. Regardless I can see both viewpoints clearly, but still the canons need to be distributed some way.

But we cant necessarily force someone to take a world or canon character as their first character. Some people are not very skilled in playing canons. I know Im not. Ive been slowly working on it, but Im not very good at playing them just yet. Ive people saw that their first character HAD to be a canon or world character, I have a feeling we will push a lot of people away from joining. Just because the write up of the plot revolves around canon characters, what if someone decided to make up an organization that also wanted to obtain Kingdom Hearts? And it was made up purely of Original characters?
I also agree that this is not a very good idea. Let people create who they want, and if they want to make a canon or world character, then they can. Also, dont forget, while you are only allowed one canon, you can have as many world characters as you want. There are 36 canon characters listed. Of those, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pete, Master Yen Sid, and an unknown number of Dark XII members are those that arent taken. But the majority of the canons are taken. However, there are A LOT of World characters that havent been taken. So if you have a canon, then at least create a world character, its sorta like a canon character.
Though my own ideas for this are while we are normally only allowed one canon, if no one is taking a canon character, and one person already has one, they should be allowed to RP the canon until someone comes along who actually wants to play the canon. Then the character is passed on to that person.
No, see, you're right that we need something. And it's not that this would limit creativity, it's more that my creativity is limited. As in, by it's own nature. And it's not fair to the others to play someone you aren't any good at and have no conection to.
I know that now I can play a lot of characters that I couldn't have when I started on here. But say, Donald? I couldn't play him at all. I suppose it's because I subscribe to the MPD School of Roleplaying.
But a solution...... Yeah. I am sorry, I'm shooting your plan without a viable replacement. I still don't have anything good, but I promise to think about it. Brainstorm?
I suppose it's because I subscribe to the MPD School of Roleplaying.
And what a good school this is.
Now...
I also disagree with this mightily. There are some here with no interest in playing any character that has been created before by someone else -- and that is fine. Some people cannot merely pick a character that has been pre-created and manage to pick up where another writer left off. This is why some people cannot or will not play canon/world characters, and I respect this fully. I was one of them for a while, due to not wanting to risk getting the character wrong.
Yes, there are some not taken, but this means that they are open to be written in by proxy, and taken by others who have the urge or desire to play them. This is, in my opinion, the best of both worlds. Yes, there will be those missing, but this means there isn't anyone forced into anything. A forced muse for a character sounds forced, and not quite on the bar.
It is my belief that one should take a character one can write, and knows one can, not because it needed to be taken, ability to play said character be damned.

From what I understand of what Seph said I agree lol. And I can’t remember where but someone earlier made a comment about how we need the cannons for the plotline to work? (I think someone did anyway xD) Well surely if it has come to the point where the plotline WILL NOT work without more cannon characters.... Can we not (And I don't know as I am an idiot) simply change the plotline to accommodate for the lack of characters? Perhaps even involve some of the OC's in the plotline to enhance it?
This entire website is based on people using their imagination, even the Worlds and Cannons still need a certain amount of imagination, as we don't know exactly what each would do in ever single given situation. Although, making someone do something that they don't particularly want to do, will rip this site apart. This happens whenever such rules are imposed anywhere. Think of it, if you where given the option (as this IS just a website you could quite easily leave) to either do something you didn't want to/ enjoy in any way shape or form, OR you could simply leave and go somewhere else, what would YOU do?
Now a little idea that popped into my head was that perhaps we could do trial periods? I know they sound a bit lame but they might work to a certain degree. Perhaps make a board where people can try out World and Cannons to see if they enjoy playing this character or not (but still not forcing them, Although encouragement is good) If they do, then great we have one more Cannon/World if not we can get past that. As I said earlier a change to the plot to accommodate for the lack of players and perhaps involving OC's would solve this problem.
On the subject of Canon, I know we touched upon the great amount of deviation from the games this site has taken by giving Final Fantasy characters the access to their original worlds that the game did not when it made Radiant Garden the home for all of them (minus those from Destiny Islands and Auron), but is it really necessary to flat-out outlaw certain characters from being used?
Example, Zack Fair. Yes he did die before the events of Final Fantasy VII, and the "new canon" on this site seems to disallow him from coming back. But if we're including the loony amount of non-KH FF characters into the roleplaying, why can it not be said that he, as what would canonically happen in the games should it happen, can't come back, or be written in, as a resident/former resident of Radiant Garden as the FF characters originally were meant to be?
In the same vein, another popular character in Vincent Valentine has been blacklisted for being in a state of suspended animation when Gaia fell to shadow here in this "canon". The same goes for him, if we can be broad enough to include a vast array of other FF characters, how can we effectively outlaw one of the most popular, when the reasons he is outlawed don't technically mean anything to the plot of Kingdom Hearts, only a vastly different canon a few players chose to form?
If it's a matter of keeping with a canon that goes directly against the games, would allowing an origin for the characters that DO go with the games be more feasible? I just think it's a bit silly, and off-putting for new members who would otherwise apply for them to put in an excellant bio only to be told what amounts to "We don't do that here."

.... Can we not (And I don't know as I am an idiot) simply change the plotline to accommodate for the lack of characters? Perhaps even involve some of the OC's in the plotline to enhance it?
And this was one of the idea I was hoping someone would touch on as a counter oppose to me. See this was something I wanted to be reached out upon by the little ripple I started. We have enough canons and worlds characters not taken. Although the aid of world moderators, (if that idea is still alive) can accomadate the missing link, there still would be that problem. So why not have a plot that won't be too dependent on canons, but to motivate OC characters to carry it out? We have so many and might as aid by leaving a route for they can extend their creativity to solve a mystery, a question, a problem.
As to Rook's statement, I can understand the little..conflict, but it seems that the way to juggle it is to practically try to write the Final Fantasy history until it matches with the universe of KH. I think Seph and a few others are working on that.

If only I knew what you are referring to...as in the first character thing...no...I've already experienced that once before and didn't enjoy the obligation. (O.o then why did I displayed such thought here? To see if the outcomes ever led to what I've been pondering on...which it have.)
The need to release the confusion of the structure of the Final Fantasy characters with the universe of KH...yes
A plot that can be easily influenced by OC's and accomadate the lack of key characters...yes
My thoughts have been solved for me by a few others on the site.
It's true that without showing true differentiation, we are not showing our true RPing selves. We do indeed need custom characters. Still, we must think of the things that we don't have enough of. I mean, the Dark XII is hardly more than a handful of people. I myself would love to see some fixed members.
So we must think of a way to solve this.
Maybe the second character should be Canon. I mean, just a thought, and not even very well meditated, but there must be something we could do.
I just don't like the idea of forcing people to take certain characters in general... They might not like the character or might not have a good muse for them.
Heck, it turns a lot of people off, actually. I'm pretty sure a good portion of the people here wouldn't have joined if at any point they were forced to play a canon when they didn't want to, or when the ones they wanted to play were taken.
Or they could just wait. Everyone might end up waiting for the last canon to be taken so they can play whoever they want without being required to play a character they don't want. That would get us no where.
And what would happen to the people that already have 4 characters? They'd be forced to give them up, no? That'd definately bring up big arguments. Big arguments. Also, there'd be some issues if all the characters are taken and then one or two are later dropped because the RPer stopped coming on, etc.
I say it's better to leave no requirements for the canon characters with this little left to choose from. I'm sure some other people would feel they'd do a horrible job at playing the current available canons like I probably would.
As for the FF character history, I'm a bit confused (partially because I haven't played the games. Don't hurt me! >.<) But also by the fact that (in the manga, at the very least) Yuffie, Leon and Aerith were young when Radiant Garden was destroyed... And RG was destroyed... I think it was 9 years prior to the first Kingdom Hearts game...? Something like that...
Edit: And as for world characters... I have nothing much to say except did anyone else see how BIG the list of Pirates of the Carribbean world Characters is?! @.@
