In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

Wonderflex is a plastic-like material. It has a sheet-like appearance when you first get ahold of it, but becomes pliable and foldable when heated up (I use a heat gun, bought for $10 at Walmart), and retains it's shape when it cools back down. It also adheres to itself, so instead of using hot glue guns to keep the pieces together, you just press two heated pieces together, and they meld to one another. You can also reheat and reshape the material.
So far, my process is as follows:
1) Create patterns from paper
2) Translate patterns to foamboard and cut out, scoring the foamboard with an exacto knife in order to give it the ability to bend without breaking.
3) Make an approximate trace of the wonderflex for the pattern on foamboard, cut out the wonderflex and heat it, apply it to the foamboard and shape it. When it cools, it is now covering the foamboard, and retaining the shape I want it to.
4) After all of that, I will take a paint-like substance called "gesso", and cover the armor with layers of it, and when it dries, use sandpaper (usually 80 grain) to smooth out the gesso. The wonderflex-covered armor will now have a smooth, plastic-like feel to it.
5) Paint. I use airbrushing for smaller parts, and spraypaint for larger single-colored areas.
They're a couple of leather grieves I bought at an Irish Festival. They were sitting around and I needed a base for the gauntlets. Yay for re-purposing!
Matsuricon! Coming up here in Columbus Ohio in two and a half weeks. That's my deadline. I'm probably about 90% done with the whole thing, so I should be done in time. After that, I'll be heading to Youmacon with Tiki up in Detroit in early November and Ohayocon back here in Columbus in January.
That's my whole con schedule for the fall/winter as far as I know. =P
I have a zentai bodysuit I have fabric-painted into the design of the red/orange/black suit under Terra's armor, and I will be using Industrial Strength Velcro to put the armor and cape on. Later on, maybe next season, I'll add the helmet as well.
Update! Wore the whole thing for the first time this past weekend. Joined my friend Selena (Aqua) on stage for the masquerade on a lark, the last entrants. Ended up winning Judge's Favorite! 1 for 1, yo!
Here we are in a candid in the waiting area before going onstage:
