In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

So, I read this a few days ago, forgot some of it, and I'm too lazy / tired to read it over again so bear with me here.
The tournament idea sounds cool. The whole "picture " thing doesn't because I'm artfully-impaired, as are probably quite a few others out there. Plus, I don't have any technology to MAKE art. >>; But the rp thing sounds the coolest to me. Because everyone can rp, you aren't limited by restrictions that your character has (Think Sephiroth vs. Civilian-with-a-dagger [not trying to pick on you, Seph~ >>;]) unless you're rping that out, but then again that could work better or worse, and everyone has the tools to rp with.
Also, the funny contest could be sorta like you apply to be in it, then you get sent a topic and you just try to be funny on that subject and people read it and such~
But then it wouldn't be the member being funny; It'd be the member using someone else's funny stuff. The word for that is the foe of the common AP English student: Plagiarism.
Well, that's true, but we don't know the rules yet. What if we were supposed to go find a funny joke and share it with the peeps here? We obviously wouldn't be claiming the joke as our own.
And that's just one example.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that as long as we don't claim it as our own stuff, it's okay.

Why would an art competition just BEING THERE be a problem? Of course not all of us are talented in terms of art, so yes, we should have a role-playing competition. But, as I've said a few times now, why can't we have a few comps? There's no problem of someone not being in all of them!
I particularly like the idea of Kaze's last post for the comedy contest. Get sent a random topic and make a funny joke/story of it
OR
We did this in Drama class. Your given three totally unrelated words. An animal, a object and a location. You have to correlate this into a humorous story.
i was also thinking of a Secret Santa type thing in december, but I also thought a "Golden Threads Awards Ceremony" thing, like the Emmy's or the Grammys for threads

The drama class idea sounds more like a forum game than a competition or event. I'd like to partake in it, though.

I can see the "Golden Threads Awards" idea working, but what about the Secret Santa thing? How could we pull that off?
But then again, we could do it with mediums. People would choose silly little web gifts, then give them to the mods so that the mods could send it to the other person. It wouldn't even have to be the mods; You'd just need to find a medium.
For instance, let's say that I wish to give you, Yuffie, some lessons in my sacred art, Jew Jitsu. I could PM our good pal, Leon. He would then send my anonymous gift to you! Then, you'd open it up, and BAM!
I was thinking that... but then the whole trust thing... people would pick who they'd trust. I dunno... Oh! We could have a carrier pigeon who doesn't want to take a part in it and just send out the PMs... that could work. I volunteer xD
Secret Santa: Yesh!! I've done this last December over the internet. It's simple really. There's one mod in charge of it all, then everyone who wants to participate fills out a form like this:
Name: Likes: Dislikes Anything Else:
Then the mod puts all the names into a hat and then PMs everyone with who they have. Then they make a graphic, story, poem, whatever, and PM it to the mod by the given date. The mod then PMs everyone with their present!
