In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Alright we need to strap our big kid undies, because these plots have trascended on long enough. Destiny Island and Yen Sid's Tower plot threads NEED to be FINISHED! I'm at the point that I don't even care if we write up a treatment concluding what happens rather than 'waiting to finish rping it out'.
Really some people can't play their character's future moves when something so major can perpetually change a LOT of things.
So all of those involved...
+ post here for I know you're still alive. I have a feeling we'll need an activity check soon, because some characters can easily be opened up for the taking. (True we don't have a mass influx of new members to anxiously take them, but they don't need more reason to collect dust in a dead account.)
+ I advise a plot whore meeting of whomever representing whatever parties to help conclude what's to occur...unless you want a poll and have the end results be depicted by the masses rather than...the activity and actions in the thread.
+ We can have a treatment for we all know what's going to happen. That way people can continue playing their characters without being trapped in a thread, and can choose to continue to finish the thread properly. (Voila working to a finished thread without having to wait to know the end result)
Theeen we can move ooon towwards other plots such as: Pridelands, Land of Dragons, Halloween Town, etc.
We seem so damn close. xD Just a bit more. As I'm aware:
- Rising Storm status; Larxene and Xigbar are literally next to the door. They've just got Rook barring their way. (Tidus is apparently in there, but not doing much.) Knowing their natures, they'd likely try skirting Rook and opening it, rather than try finishing him off - or wait for one more Org member to pop in and seal the deal. Though those outside seem to have their hands full at the moment. Either way, it's close unless more Light members get in that cave.
And now I want Riku post.
- Clash of Darkness status: The tide still seems turning for a part Dark XII victory, part loss, since Yen Sid plans to collapse the world rather than have the Dark XII take it. That just needs to be carried out, but I'm open for more plotting suggestions if anyone prefers a different ending. I believe you had plotted an Arlene sacrifice. xD Which was to help advance something else as well.
People should help plot in that Pridelands plot thread. D<

Anyway. It'd be really great if we could roll some dice and figure out who wins what out of the Destiny Islands fiasco, but at the same time I don't like the idea of assuming that nothing surprising happens. The fact is, we're trying to rp something that is happening very quickly, but because we are text based and turn based, we are taking a long time to get things done. I mean, one jab and block could take a full week. It seems to me in fight rps, sometimes all that is necessary is a very short post of action, but in turn, more posts are required. It's like a quick dialogue. It needs rhythm and speed, with few frills.
Wait. Ok, I'm having an idea. I'm just going to write this down as it comes to me but you can feel free to shoot it down and I will take zero offense (unless you yell at me because then I will cryIdon'tliketobeyelledat).
For these individual battles that take place amidst a boat-load of other stuff, maybe we could attempt to set up some sort of one-on-one rp in real time (or close to it [or at least something faster]), either over IM or PM and post quickie spars in a single post, with mod approval. I'm talking like the fast action battles.
Either way, I would love to see a new system for battle rps.
What happens is we get stuck in simple, routine play. They require double the amount of posts and half the time.

I'm liking that plan, Aryn. And it wouldn't be mandatory, but definitely an available option.
My thoughts;
- Perhaps we could have an alternate be 'box battles'. A new cbox can be created for this very purpose (distributed by link, not publicly posted), if not everyone can coordinate time for an IM convo. Only issue there is the word limit per entry. But there's less pressure to have everyone online at the same time, if they assign themselves a few days with the box to get through a battle.
- Especially for the short, out-of-thread battles, methinks a posting order should be set.
- We'll have to be careful about these skirmishes being played out in the middle of larger battles. Keeping the timeline straight may be a challenge, but perhaps not so bad if the other participants of the thread are watching the battle too.
Ex: Xaldin/Riku/Era whoever are duking it out in IM or the box, but I figure Xigbar would be calling to Xaldin at some point from the Secret Place. If I was watching, would I pop in a comment to let them know, then play it out in a post later? Something like that may get confusing. But would probably work out. Most of us on WD are good communicators.
One thing's for sure: we definitely need to alter this flow. A five sentence or so post in the battle thread itself would be perfect, should it be quickly followed by another. And another. Until bam, battle wraps up, revert to normal post length to end threads like this. xD
Sounds interesting I like alot of the ideas I'm hearing here. I can see this working very well and allow smooth battles to take place. So you get the Coolkid approval stamp.
On HT I have a topic up so Far I ave Santa, me, and another HFC member active, yeah. I'm still waiting on a reply from Shun, but more activity there would be nice.
Now onto my other stuff. An activity check sounds nice, it will help clean out some old accounts and such. On Ellie's second point about the end result. I can see how both sides can be justified. In my opinion though I feel the results should be determined though what happens in the RP.
I'm here. All the major threads I'm involved in move so slowly that I tend to keep track of them less and less often. My own fault, sure. But I think an activity check would do us well. Keep things fresh and updated, allow the groups like the Orgy and Dark XII to see what kind of numbers they are working with.
That said, the plotwhore thing needs a more stable meeting schedule. Things are apparently just not happening or no one is on the same page. Be it on MSN or here on a subforum, the "meet when we can/wanna" thing doesn't fly.
Activity as a whole is lacking. I dunno if it's loss of interest, personal schedules, or people moving on and not giving up characters. A reshuffling is in order at the very least. Even if it means a few entrusted people take on more than one key character in order to see things progress until someone fitting applies for it, balls need to get rolling once again. We started off with a lot of steam later last year, we can do that again.

Things to Do That's been concluded: + Summer Activity Check
--{Battlebox}--
I think there's a form of chatbox where you have everyone in there as a group, and you can do personal IM one-on-one. I don't recall if its chatango or something else. Oooh Aryn what was the box you made that we were doodling in?
I'm pondering if we use this format we would need a scheduled time...for everyone to plop in, especially if it's that big of a scale like DI. Yet I don't know how many people can find time without being disturbed, since that is how much of 'real time' we'd be able to replicate.
Tinychat! It's the bomb. Skype could be an option as well. My sense is that we could utilize it best with fights that include only 2-3 characters. The ones where it's like five on one, normal posting makes sense to me.
Even in this big brawl on DI, the rp splits into distinctive groups of about 2-3 characters interacting with each other. There are still battles like Axel's and Sora's, where they are essentially fighting one-on-one. I think it could be reasonable for two or three people to chat live at an agreed-upon time.
Posting here to let yall know I'm still alive. (Well kinda - I've been sick the last week and a half and still am. My lung, has you seen it?)
Anyway, Rook brought up an idea that I've seen discussed before - having more than one cannon character. We have a lot of needed characters sitting around, not being played or picked up. I would like to see those characters picked up, be it temp or perm, just to get things moving.
Also, I've been thinking of ways to get plots moving around a little faster, like having an overall plot DM that monitors the overall progression of a plot - similar to D&D or the like. @.@ As things are, plots move much too slowly.
