In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Most of Shorik's abilities stem from the items in his possession, however this is not to say he is helpless without them.....
Knight-Trained- Being trained to be a knight from age 12-17, along with active use since then, Shorik is quite skilled in swordplay. He can properly wield single-, double-handed, and even bastard swords, and can also use them both offensively and defensively.
As for the abilities granted from his items.....
Agile Warrior- By activating the magic in the Agility Rune Stone, Shorik's attacks and movements are much faster, and more accurate for three posts. Recharge time is three posts.
Abyss Knight- When Shorik wears the Abyss Claw, it's dark magic briefly overtakes him, encasing him in a full suit of Abyss Knight armour. In this armour, Shorik is slower to move, and restricted in the kind of attacks he can pull off. To compensate for this though, his defenses and strength are much greater, and his sword will leave a trail of burning flames in it's path. The armour seeks to control Shorik entirely, however, so he may only remain in this form for 1 post before he must discard the armour.
Weapon/Items:
Ancient Rune Sword- A one-handed, double-edged sword made of mythril. Etched in the base of the blade are the four symbols present on the sword's sheath, albiet smaller. The sword is well-cared for, and reacts to the Rune Stones corresponding with the symbols on it.
Rune Stone: Agility- A spherical stone that fits in the palm of one's hand. Etched onto it is an ancient symbol that means "Speed" or "Agility". Magic is contained in the stone, and will only activate to the wielder of the Ancient Rune Sword. There are 3 other stones like it, scattered across the worlds.
Abyss Claw- The left hand gauntlet of an Abyss Knight's armour. Was found in Shorik's possession after the destruction of his home world. A dark magic resonates from it. Activates the "Abyss Knight" ability when worn.
Appearance: Shorik stands at approximately 6'0", and weighs around 165 lbs. His body is built tall and slim, with slightly toned muscle. He has fair skin, untouched by scars. He has blue eyes, and an untidy mop of dark brown hair.
Shorik, despite his heritage, doesn't dress as nobility. He wears black cloth pants, which are held up by a brown belt with various pouches attatched to it. Over his torso, he wears a simple long-sleeved red tunic. Strapped to his back is a sheath holding his sword. The sheath itself is black, with four symbols stitched into it with black thread. Only the top-most one glows a faint white.
Lastly, Shorik wears brown warrior boots, as well as brown leather gauntlets. The only real piece of armour Shorik normally wears is a set of steel shoulderguards.
Abyss Knight When Shorik activates the corresponding ability, he is covered in a full set of heavy, black obsidian armour. The armour has a very demonic look to it, with clawed hands, demon-inspired designs on the chestpiece, topped off with a set of slightly curved horns on the helmet. In this armour, none of Shorik's other clothes or features can be seen, making him unidentifiable by those who aren't already aware it's him.
Personality: Shorik used to be a carefree young man, able to enjoy life, even if sometimes a bit recklessly. However, the events of his life in the past 2 years have changed him. His mind is often occupied with revenge and regret. Revenge against his brother for the crimes he's committed. Regret for not being able to prevent it. As a result, Shorik is a lot less sociable than he used to be. To strangers, he appears fairly cold, and task-oriented. Getting to know him on a more personal level is something that will require some persistence.
One aspect of his personality that Shorik hasn't been able to bury is the need to help and protect others in danger. Even if the conflict has nothing to do with him, he can't resist getting involved. He is also quite brave, standing up to challenges most would run from.
Should someone manage to become his friend, Shorik is a warm guy, able to laugh and have some fun. His loyalty to his friends is unwavering. If asked what he likes to do for fun, he'd say he wasn't sure. Given the events of his life, he's had less and less opportunity to just have fun along the way. He does enjoy friendly sparring if the opportunity arises, though he's open to try anything that may be fun.
Shorik is rather tolerant of most people, though he can't stand people who view others as tools, or lesser beings.
Original World: Aerion A world divided into six different regions, inhabited by a variety of species. With the exception of one, each region has a single "ruler" that represents them to the others. Though for the most part, the cities and towns all operate on their own terms. Magic does exist, and can be taught to those who desire it. Civilization is roughly on par with the medevil age.
Current World: Radiant Garden
History:
Shorik was the second son born to the noble Cadoc family. His father, Sefito was well-known as a knight, and for his role in unifying the world during it's last great war. As such, he wanted his sons to follow in his footsteps down the knight's path. Unfortunatly, the first son, Aerigen, was more inclined to magic than the sword. This turned Sefito's hopes to Shorik, who had a knack for swordplay. As a result, he was overly hard on the boy, and had him training from an early age. Shorik reacted negatively to this, growing more and more rebellious as he grew older. Foolishly, Sefito only became more and more strict with Shorik.
On his seventeenth birthday, Shorik had enough, and fled from home. He journeyed across the world, looking for adventure. Early in his travels, he stumbled across an old ruin that contained the sword he wields today, along with a stone with a rune symbol engraved into it. A few months after starting his journey, Shorik helped a village of demi-humans end a string of assaults from a nearby city, and was claimed a local hero. In the process though, Shorik had met his older brother Aerigen, and had some disturbing truths revealed to him.
Shorik's brother had become extremely well-versed in dark magic and was using it to slowly take over the regions, and become ruler of the world himself. Shocked, Shorik continued to travel the world, only to find his brother gaining more and more power. Deciding to take action, Shorik returned home to confront Aerigen with the help of some allies he'd made, as well as his father. However, things didn't go so well, and Aerigen murdered Sefito in front of a crowd, disguised as Shorik.
Framed for his father's murder, Shorik fled his home once more, and went into hiding disguised as a member of Aerigen's new army: The Abyss Knights. For a year, Shorik remained hidden, unable to stop his brother, who had now taken over all of Aerion. However, he began to make allies, and joined one of the resistance groups that opposed Aerigen's rule. Shorik had made some friends in the group, and even developed a romantic relationship with a girl named Aiona. Things were starting to look up.
Of course, in Shorik's life, that tends to be when things go bad. During an attack on one of Aerigen's strongholds, Aiona was possessed by one of his spells, and by accident, killed by Shorik's own blade. Aerigen, while amused, took some pity on his younger brother, and cleared his name, and let the resistance retreat for the time being.
Shorik's resolve had been shattered, but with the help of his friends, was gradually restored. He continued to fight alongside the resistance, and was given co-leadership on a mission to take back Aerigen's main stronghold in the Deserted Lands. The mission was going well, until Aerigen himself appeared, and called forth strange creatures with inky black bodies, and glowing yellow eyes. The creatures proved to be trickier than any opponent Shorik had yet faced. His attacks were barely effective on them, and they could melt in and out of the shadows with ease. However, it appeared that even Aerigen couldn't fully control the creatures, as some of them had ran off on their own. Shortly afterward, though, a violent storm had begun, and the creatures went beserk, multiplying and attacking both Aerigen's forces and the resistance! Shorik fended off the creatures as best he could, but soon he was overcome by them, and fell unconcious.
Shorik's story isn't over yet, though... In a new world, he will awake.
Role Playing Sample:
Out among the blue cliffs that surrounded Radiant Garden, a young man was slumped against one of the rocky walls, unconscious. Ugh... What happened? Slowly, the young man stirred, and brought a hand to rub the top of his head as he opened his eyes to look around. This is weird... The young man was a traveler by the name of Shorik Cadoc. In all his years of traveling his homeworld of Aerion, he'd never seen a place like this. Blue jagged cliffs, with the occasional crystal cluster... The only civilization within sight being a small town, with a strange castle in the distance. Getting to his feet, Shorik decided to retrace his steps. We had managed to get inside Aerigen's stronghold in the Deserted Lands.... Then he showed up and summoned those dark creatures... Then the storm started, and they began to multiply... I think even Aerigen was shocked.... Now Shorik remembered. The bizarre storm had begun shortly before the creatures had suddenly multiplied. It had been odd, since there had only been a handful of clouds in the sky up to that point. Then, the creatures started attacking every living thing around them, overpowering them with sheer numbers. Shorik had tried to ward them off, but even he was overtaken by them. The last thing the young man remembered was being dragged into a pit of inky darkness as the creatures piled on to him. Then, nothing.
Shorik looked over himself. He had no injuries that he could see or feel.... He had his sword, his money, basic supplies, and one of the Rune Stones. Wait, just one?! Surprised, the young man hastily checked his other pockets. No luck. The other stones must've been lost in the chaos... or stolen. Shorik sighed, and looked down to the ground, only to be greeted with the appearance of a black gauntlet.... one that he recognized. It belonged to a set of Abyss Knight armour. Even though it was just a gauntlet, it was still dangerous. Shorik had remembered how the armour had once tried to possess him when he wore it. He couldn't risk someone coming across it, and becoming consumed by it. So, handling it carefully, he placed it in one of his pouches for safe-keeping. Better figure out where I am.... Looking around the area, Shorik deduced his best bet was to head towards the small town off in the distance. He hoped it was welcoming towards strangers, as started walking.
