"I do not think anyone's beginnings are ah, very grandiose, when it comes to magic," Marmadue did his best to remind Avari that it wasn't the greatest idea to compare herself, a fledgling mage, to those who had been practicing magic for longer, perhaps their entire lives. A craft that wasn't mastered in an instant, certainly. But the fact that he had brought up his desire to see what she was capable of… Well, it clearly was something that caught the girl's attention, already offering a show! The Yuke tried to decline, raising his hand slightly – he had told her to rest and now he was trying to make her do something already? Oh had he done it now! But, he was curious. Even more curious as Avari pulled a string of Materia from her pocket to show him.
"Ah. I do not believe I have seen these ones before," Marmadue's interest had been caught, his tone colored with intrigue. What a devilish trap. One he had to pry himself from, lest he followed the course of action that would lead them to. Talking was better, safer! It was resting, compared to running around and testing out magic! The Yuke cleared his throat and got back on track. They had been talking about the nature of magic, a quite difficult subject to explain! He hadn't done a very good job of that, as the girl seemed to be a bit confused after his blabbing.
"Ah, yes. Not the easiest topic for discussion, so ah, please. Do ask questions when it starts getting difficult to grasp," he started, but choosing how to continue wasn't very easy! He glanced down, figuring out his words, before looking at Avari again. "Hm. As I am now, I do not have to think how I would have to move my tongue to form whichever words I wish to voice, nor do I have to individually move each of my muscles involved to ah, do this," Marmadue waved his hand, "And ah, I assume you are the same. At some point, we had to learn such tasks from scratch and have honed them through our entire lives, until they are second nature to us. Now, hypothetically, what if you learned that you had ah, a third arm you had never known about before, one you have never used? The necessary training to use this limb doesn't exist, so it does not move, despite your best efforts. What you would need to do is figure out how you can tell your mind to ah, connect to those muscles that exist in the arm to make it act as you please. Magic… Would be the same. But, ah, nonphysical of course, compared to an extra limb growing out of you."
