In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The Nightfall chapter of World Destiny is having its very first Keyblade Contest!
- Any member either already a part of World Destiny, or who signs up and submits their Keyblade entry before the deadline is eligible.
- There is no theme here, so just create the kind of Keyblade you want to! As long as it's kid-friendly style. Basically as long as it's the type of thing we could encounter in the game, it's free game.
- Entries can be submitted in any artistic format one desires: Poetry, song, drawn artwork, et cetera. Art will NOT be judged on standards of Artistic Beauty, but on the Keyblade Concept presented as a whole.
- Please keep it limited to one entry per RPer.
- After the entry period closes, members will vote and the winner of the new Keyblade will be announced!
- Winners may use their Keyblade on any ONE of their characters they so choose. In the very rare case that the member who won the contest doesn't want to use their Keyblade, they may give it away. But don't think this means you can beg the winner for it!
- If you don't win, don't get discouraged! Just enter the next one!
- Once you are ready to submit your entry, you may do so by posting in this thread. So what are you waiting for? Let your creative juices flow! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
The Aes Clavis is a bronze, antique looking Keyblade. It's based on an antique looking novelty key (second image) and is quite basic in color scheme. It's Keychain is based on those strange little silver ball keychains with a lock at the end.

Well, I'm not all artsy fartsy, so I don't have any drawings of it. But, I can design things, and make them interesting all the same. So here's my entry. Best of luck everyone.
Keyblade Name: Iron Will
APPEARANCE
It is clear to see from its appearance that Iron Will is a warrior's keyblade. It's metallic appearance, coupled with its hook-like appearance and spiky teeth, makes it appear dangerous, though not malicious. Especially
Hilt and Handle - The handle is wrapped in a reddish brown leather. The pommel tapers down to a broad spike. The keychain attaches to the side of the pommel and and is the crest of Dryden, a golden roaring dragon grasping a sword and shield in its talons. The guard extends in a smooth, even curve to end just above the bottom of the handle without touching it. The guard has a bright blue ridge along the edges that glows, in contrast to the dark metallic grey of the inside.
Blade - The blade extends out straight and solid from the top of the guard. The front edge remains straight until the end, where it curves to form a gently rounded corner. It then curves up and around to form a half-circle, which forms the "teeth" of the keyform of the weapon. On the end of the half-circle facing the wielder, it curves down to the point of nearly touching the blade before coming to a corner and forming a new edge parallel to the main body of the blade. It then curves back around in a full circle, almost giving the impression of there being a hole in the end of the blade. This gives it a general hook-like appearance. Protruding out of the top of the "teeth" are four spikes, each with a dangerously sharp point. The blade has the same bright, glowing blue ridge near the edges, as well as a strange, eight character script down the center in the same fashion.
Transformation - Iron Will is able to transform into a spear. The spear is the same dark, metallic grey along the shaft and most of the spearhead. The spearhead is long, broad, and flat, spreading out at the base to form a small pair of winged points before curving back inward and turning straight to form the rest of the spearhead. The same blue found on Iron Will's key form is also found along the spearhead, tracing the edges as well as on this strip down the middle on each side. There are also three lines that proceed down the shaft of the spear form, spiraling around each other until they reach the butt of the shaft. The butt of the shaft has a broad spikes on it, exactly the same as the pommel of its key form. Iron Will's keychain is also still connected there.
POWERS
Iron Will is a physically strong keyblade. It also has a transformation, which is in the form of a spear. While in spear form, Iron Will can also act as a conduit for certain magics, able to modify them for differing effects. However, these modifications can only be used when Iron Will is in its spear transformation.
Spell Modifications - Protect/Shell/Reflect: Creates a large, circular magical shield at the tip of the keyblade. These shields can be sent hurtling away from the keyblade as a sort of ranged, magical "shield bash" Fire: Allows the creation of a whip of fire to be created and maintained from the tip of the keyblade. Maintaining the form of the whip continually drains the wielder/caster's MP Blizzard: creates a "bola" of magical ice that is hurtled at an enemy. Can be used to trip them, tie them up, etc. Aero - Shoots a whirlwind at an enemy. Upon contact, it traps that enemy in place very briefly (1-2 seconds), but deals no damage.
These Spell Modifications are neither automatic, nor mandatory. The original, unaltered versions of these spells can still be cast while wielding Iron Will.
OTHER NOTES
Iron Will is an unusual keyblade in that it reacts heavily to the will of the user. The stronger its wielder's will, the stronger it gets, up to a limit. When this happens, its glowing blue lines can become almost blinding in brightness.
When its wielder's will is low however, either through confusion or doubt or otherwise, Iron Will weakens, and can even reach the point of uselessness, even temporarily losing its effectiveness against the Heartless. When this happens, its glowing blue lines dim, and can even reach the point where they no longer have color or glow, and instead become a cold, light grey color. When transformed into its spear form, and its wielder's will falls low enough, it will revert to its key form and be unable to transform again until its wielder's will is restored. The general order in which it begins losing powers due to faltering will are as follows, with the first listed being the first abilities/powers to be lost:
Spell Modifications > Spear Transformation > Locking/Unlocking and other general, non-combat keyblade abilities > Combat Effectiveness (including vs Heartless. This is the point of uselessness)

So just getting a challenge like this is really difficult, because all keyblades have some sort of a theme to them! I couldn't theme it after a character, as I don't know who would be wielding this thing and we don't exactly have worlds to theme things after, either! So it took me a forever to really get anywhere. But eventually I did realize that technically, we kinda sorta do have a world and a theme to go with…
Nightfall
…Okay I'm not very good at keyblades and this one is probably way too simple, so I'm sure someone could take this and make it better and maybe give it a nicer color scheme and everything. Anyway! The uh, shaft would be a bit flatter and wider than just a rounded shape like many keyblades have, and I think that moon-ish thing should be like, curved and hollow and work as some kind of a guard for your hand/arm. It would be a keyblade that is shorter than many, but reach won't be an issue because…
That zippery thing in the middle is actually some kind of chain that extends and retracts, wow! I actually based that sort of on a real key (linky), which I remembered during this contest and thought it was a neat thing to try to implement into a keyblade. Exact range still unknown, that's a balancing thing to figure out. I think it would be nice in combat and out of combat, hopefully. Wouldn't just be your normal kind of whacking things with a key if you want to use this boy to its fullest.

Keyblade Name: Storm Bringer
Storm Bringer is heavily rooted in the concept of volcanic lighting, as such the blade itself is more of a conduit for power than anything else. Though it has moderate physical and magical power on its own it is meant to function as an extension of the self, so any real power comes from the user and how they can handle it.
With lightning and electricity being the base concept, Storm Bringer is able to interface with the electrical network inside of the body to allow it to function as both a metaphorical and physical extension of the self. By linking to the electrical system of the body, what signals the brain sends through the body to control limbs extends to the blade itself to allow for further accuracy and an enhanced sense of self within the blade. Maneuvers performed with the Storm Bringer keyblade feel as natural as would opening or closings one's hand. This has a downside, however, as an amount of pain can be felt through the blade similar to that of a phantom limb. With extended use, the blade truly begins to feel like a limb and the mind begins to create small amounts of false pain; the blade operates like a limb so the brain pretends that it is. Additionally, with separation of the blade from its user the user may feel empty in a similar way to missing a limb that used to exist. Again, the blade functions as a limb so the brain creates more of a connection than actually exists.
The keyblade's main function, other than interfacing with the body's network, is creating cosmetic and functional differences to the thunder spell. The cosmetic differences in the spell come from the color of the spell. The electricity emitted becomes a neon purple rather than the standard yellow, as the color is closer to that of volcanic lightning. The functional differences do not lie in power of the spell, but instead in the basis of the magic. To start, the spell casts throughout the keyblade before being tunneled outward to its target. The major functional change to the spell is the creation of the lightning. The keyblade attracts both positively and negatively charged particles and encourages the collision of the particles. In these collisions the particles separate and occasionally split until the air is no longer able to resist the flow of electricity and bolts are created. This is similar to the process that occurs inside of a volcanic plume when volcanic lightning is created.
The blade of the keyblade mimics the shape of a bolt of lightning and seems to be made of polished dark volcanic rock in both consistency and color. The blade has an opening in the center in the same shape of the outline of the blade. The guard of the keyblade is solid (shown in the illustration as what it would appear as bisected) and is almost a glove, so the user can insert their hand inside comfortably to reach the grip. The grip of the keyblade is on a rotating track which can lock into either a horizontal or vertical position for different maneuvers. The keyblade's keychain is the pattern and color of a volcanic plume (not accurately represented in the illustration due to the illustrator's skill).
This keyblade is intended to incorporate the base of Avari's original sword, cause I enjoy the idea of normal weapons, or at least non-keyblade weapons evolving into keyblades, just like Riku's Soul Eater becoming Way to Dawn. Because Hollow Crest is derived from Avari's current sword, it would maintain the same gravity magic properties, though I've decided to simplify the mechanics of it, cause currently it's a mighty big task trying to describe it all the time. Essentially the user of this keyblade is the source of gravity for the keyblade. You can either expel it away from you, impacting against whatever obstacles are in its way, or you can recall it back. The drawback of this being of course that if you expel the keyblade away, it will leave you vulnerable and open to attacks. You also can't control the direction of the keyblade, it will only move either away from you or towards you in a straight line. Of course you can also call back the keyblade like any other, by having it materialize in your hands, but using its gravitational properties could be beneficial both in and out of combat. Of course if the keyblade goes too far away it will disappear and return to you, so it has its limits.
