In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Well, part of the reason we seem to be running low on patience, and the idea of the historians becoming straight up GMs makes me personally a little nervous is because no one is communicating with us at all. The picky details have not been worked out so we can see them. The jobs seemed to be handed out by default. This is not to say that I think none of the historians are suited for the job, however, because there is so much required for this job, it would be nice to know that all of our needs are being met, that they will be active and coherent, and a communicating team. There is also a lot of untapped talent on the site in the way of GMs, who are not on staff.
Bottom line is: the historians weren't put on staff for their GMing abilities.
How man GM's there are, what their EXACT jobs are, and what kind of system their working under is VERY important to us without any power.
About the Boss fights; There should indeed be a boss at the end of a Deep Dive. Deep Dives =not Roleplay sample Deep Dives = A test of the Heart for potential Keyblade wielders. Ergo, Only potential Keyblade wielders will Deep Dive, and have a fight there.
And, in response to CG, If Nella were to Deep Dive, He would get a weapon as part of the dive (sword, staff, shield). You can't take your weapons into your heart (keyblade nonwithstanding because they are a weapon of the heart).
As for other boss fights, there should be a way to create bosses for others to fight. There have been a few of these (Ex. The Virus). Plot Hooks are also good, usually leading to a boss fight and a reward (Da-na-na-NA). Ex. (This is true!) Currently, the cornerstone of Light (The MacGuffin of all MacGuffins) is currently sunk to the bottom of the Timeless River, with a huge Aquatic Heartless Boss Monster (As of yet to be defined) and a swarm of heartless piranha guarding it.
Depending on who can get into the Timeless River, this could be used for both good or evil. Either King Mickey will reward you, or you have access to the universe's biggest Light-powered battery.
And will someone please put up a description about GMs like my description of the Keyblade Keeper? Please include duties and why we need it.
Well, then what do you suggest the RP test be? What's more, we've only been able to play as the keyblade wielders. How do you know that they're the only ones that go through it?
Also, there is something called creativity. It doesn't have to be a copypasta of what you see in the games. Use your creative processes to, oh, I don't know, have them NOT HAVE to go through that part. After all, you only need to have them tested on a few key things:
Dialogue Scene Interaction Minor Combat Boss Combat
And that's it. This is easily done via dream sequences.
However, I'm in total agreement on you with the bosses. Me? The Judgemaster heartless, a la FFTA. YES, that's right... LAWS! *laughs maniacally* You heard me. Standard attacks? Can't do it while no attack law is in place! Fire? Can't use anything fire elemental when No Fire is in place! What would happen should you try? A whole lot of nothing. It makes for a delightfully evil, yet fun and entertaining, boss fight. For those of you who've played Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, it'd be kinda like fighting Bowyer. It could be extremely crippling, or totally harmless, depending on which law is in place. What should happened is at the beginning of each one of the Boss' posts, a law replaces the old law, up until the boss is defeated.
I don't think we should institute such a test. Unless people are actively kicking over the castles, I'm not inclined to chase them out of the sandbox. There's room for all of us.
I would like to point out that it is possible to play without a GM. Successfully. What it requires is for everyone to listen to each other, and to roll with anything that happens. Not even roll with it -- pick it up and run with it. I'm not pushing the concept, I'm just saying - don't overgeneralize.
Although I do think it IS possible to rp without a GM successfully, I think World Destiny could really use them.
Regarding Deep Dive: I don't think everyone who gets a Keyblade should go through it...there's no reason to. Kairi didn't. Probably Riku didn't. Sora and Roxas did, but perhaps for another, more complex reason. Someone is clearly watching them, for reasons not revealed. They are presented with the figurative Sword, Wand, Disk, and Chalice (Sword, Wand, Shield, and Kingdom Hearts) and given the choice between the first three, which in turn are Air, Fire, and Earth respectively. As Sora's rper, I feel it was ESSENTIAL to choose the sword, which was his element and symbol as a warrior. Roxas's close connection with the fire element prompts the choosing of the wand...at least in my opinion. We never actually KNOW who the disembodied voice is that guides Sora during his initiation, but doesn't it seem like this thing was set up for him alone?
That and...I mean, come on, Deep Dive is just to teach the players how to use the control settings...
The Keeper of the Keys should be able to figure out who knows what they're doing and who doesn't.
Things a GM should do:
1. Conduct Heartless attacks. 2. Guide the plot/characters 3. Play NPs, settings, arbitrary Given Circumstances 4. Communicate with Historians/lesser GMs.
Keeper of the Keys:
1. Keep close watch on active characters. 2. Select characters to award Keyblades and write them in as though narrating the event. 3. Take Keyblades away as characters become corrupt (See: Riku) 4. Monitor strengths and weaknesses of Keyblade. 5. Confer with GMs?
Although I do think it IS possible to rp without a GM successfully, I think World Destiny could really use them.
This. At least for a little while as we try and get a site-wide form of plot moving, just to ease into the new set of corcumstances. Should the GM sowly back away and leave the game in the players hands after a short time, I think that is also fair.
3. Take Keyblades away as characters become corrupt (See: Riku)
Nitpick: Riku was never stripped of a Keyblade. The Keyblade simply chose the stronger wielder, which was meant to be Riku, but ended up being Sora, who would lose it to Riku when he in turn became stronger through the Darkness, but again returned to Sora when he found stronger resolve in his friends and goal. I don't know that a character can really be taken away from anyone, as even when the Kingdom Key returned to Sora, Riku still ended up with his Way To The Dawn.
This might suggest that even when a Wielder loses the Keyblade they were meant for, it does not take away the ability to wield them.
Good point, Rook. I think it's all a matter of the strength of the person's heart. They may lose the ability to use a light-aligned keyblade, but they should still be able to get a dark-aligned one (see: Aros). They'd just have to have a plot thread in which they make that transition.
I would argue that a Keyblade was still taken from Riku and in either case, the Keeper of the Keys would be in charge of keeping track of all that musical chairs business.

Alright, I'm back weeeee..and will be catching up on the few threads I have.
Now I've read up and seem the..mini GM vs. Historians
the info of Historians that was update on the 22nd of February. Job Description:
As a Historian, the staff member will be given up to two world boards which will be theirs' to moderate. Of course Overseers and Admins will assist in moderating if need be. Moderating powers will only be available within the Historian's chosen worlds. Moderating means locking and moving old threads to the Archives board, taking care of disputes between members, keeping a close eye on the plot thread for mini-modding, power playing etc, and updating all important threads of the world.
It is the job of the Historian to create two important threads in each of their worlds that list all major events which have occurred or are occurring. One thread will contain all events related to the site's main plot and the other will contain events from non-plot threads.
One of the more fun aspects of being a Historian is that all characters of a world (whom are not currently being role played by another member) must be role played by the Historian in order to keep any plot events moving forward.
And the info for the GM is above.
In a way they shade over each other with similar actions.
GM- manipulate heartless attacks HM- manipulate free world characters for plot GM- are to guide the RPers through the plot, but once they get on the ball. They must back off unless it's plot related.. HM- are to guide the RPers to the extent of the usage of the character they would have to manipulate. GM- they plan the minor plots for minor worlds HM- they organize the minor worlds.
They work hand-in-hand. That calls for communication, which I think...is what this rp doesn't have much of. Really, many post in plot threads, but...they aren't even acknowledge. (which I personally think it should be another responsiblity for historians= to construct a time-line with just a mini summary of plot events that affects minor worlds as a whole).
Now my question is...which has been stated. How many GM and HM do we need? If they work so closely together, then there should be some what balance. I would see it a strain for an HM to juggle with two GMs, or a GM to juggle with so many HMs.
Now one might say...why not give the HM all of the duties...I would see that a bit too much. They would have to act as world characters and plot manipulators. It's like going double time with Tybo!
If a historian have two worlds to moderate. (which we still don't know what that is//sorry not trying to bash or go all grrrr, but just revealing the "communication" that we need and lack), then a GM should do the same. That way one HM have to only communicate with one GM.
If so then this goes back to what I've stated before we must have 6 Historians to rule over the odd amount of worlds here, which would equal to 6 GMs. Do we have 10 people right now fit for the job?
......So yeah, we can either go through a nomination/hunt/etc. for those ten individuals..or make a HEAD HISTORIAN- Who would have the secondary title as the GM like a President being the Commander in Chief.
With that the H. Historian(GM) would manipulate plot with other Historians. This calls for less people, and lessen the chance of someone being inactive with their position.
Now if you all like that idea, then the same can go for the Keeper of the Keys. Overseers already...or suppossed to oversee what we do in rp, so they would or should be closer with knowledge of rpers. It is their main objective to look over boards and members.
This group of staff members will assist the Administrators and Historians by moderating all boards. You are in charge of looking over the boards and making sure all members are following the rules and role playing fairly. If a post or thread is reported by a member, it is the job of the Overseers to solve the problem and contact an Admin if their help is needed.
So their can always be a Head Overseer to act Keeper of the Keys, which can coincide with the other similar duties.
The Overseers are also in charge of running competitions and events around the forum. Some competitions include: The Wielder Awards, Keyblade Contests, Signature of the Week, Battle Competitions, etc.
If they already make such decisions, then one can be applicable for being Keeper of the Keys.
Alright, so a list of duties that we need to have taken care of. And please, before you comment on this post, decide if your comment is actually necessary and will advance this point.
We need someone to: Run NPCs (currently Historians) Manage Keyblades (Currently Bluey) Give out Quests/ rewards for quests Run random encounters Run Boss Fights Keep track of the major past events (Currently H) Update current events/world status Threads (Currently H)
We do not need: Someone to force the plot on people (The plot will happen, whether or not anyone forces it to. It may not be the exact plot you want, but There Shall Be Plot! However, we do need someone with all the answers to 'What if' plotwise.)
My proposal; Keeper of the Keys - manages Keyblades (1 Person) Historians - Keeps track of Major events, updates threads (2-3 People, 2-3 worlds each.) World Mods - Runs NPCs, gives out quests, runs random encounters, runs boss fights (5-10 people, 1 per major world, 1/2-1/3 per minor world) GM - Admins, makes sure the above can do their jobs, manages major plot, has all the answers ('What if' plotwise. (Yuffie, Bluey)
'What if' plotwise means "If I tried to get Org's hearts back by doing ______, would it work? If not, what would happen. If so, what specifically happened?
Unless anyone has any major objections, I would like to present this to the Mods.
We also need to do something about the Academy Instructors, as many of them do not seem to be doing their jobs. I site Naxyr, for instance: Why is it taking almost 2 weeks for him to get a reply?
We need people in charge whom will do their jobs, and whom will be on the ball about it. The best candidates, beit for GM, HM, or AI, are the ones that claim to have no life. IN SHORT OF THAT, they're the ones with the most time on their hands. For an advanced RP like this one, I also say they NEED to have some kind of GM/Moderator experience, so they know what they're doing.
But come on, guys... two weeks? Even if the one working with them (Leon, I think) dropped the ball, the other should have recognized this and swooped in to assist. In essence, stop whining that we're whining that your not doing your jobs, and DO YOU JOBS!
Every senior person on this site claims to have a life. I will say that certain people could do with being more active, but, seeing as I do not have any mod position, I have no real say.
Hell! Two of our senior members just lost their lives! Everyone who knew them is just a little depressed right now, so maybe that's why people are a little slow right now. Perhaps we do have other things to worry about that are more important than if some new person is having a fast-food profile experience!
And you, with your incessant ranting, are really starting to get on my nerves. You are a new member (Just over one month), and you just prance in here, pretending like you can tell everyone else that "RP, ur doing it wrong." You insult every mod on the site, tell us that our application system is something that belongs in the toilet, and decide that we should overhaul everything we believe in.
And, even if what you were saying was correct, I would say that the Mod presumptive would have to show good spelling and grammar, and to re-read their posts. That said:
Learn grammar, politeness, and people skills; Learn patience; and most importantly, LEARN WHEN TO SHUT UP!
Most of the time I am a very polite guy. I do not know what sparked this post, it might be that you just came at a bad time. In light of that, I do apologize if this rant offended anyone besides RoleOfDATS.
