In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There aren't enough praises in the world I'd like to give to wonderful coders for the Proboards community. The following have contributed to World Destiny in some way: W3 Schools for countless how-tos and countless of other souls who have helped get WD up to where it is.

For once I agree with Locue on something. Hell hath frozen over.
Role, the site is not going to reshape itself to your standards, no matter how much you rant, complain, harp, or whine. The system we have now has worked thus far, and it's not going to change because you decide to hop in here and say -- as Locue put it so well -- "ur doing it wrong!"
We aren't.
We RP to have fun. And if we're having fun, well, I'm pretty damn sure we're doing it right.
I've tried to keep an unbiased opinion of you. I kept an open mind with your ideas. I've attempted to show you respect and have expected equal respect from you in return. I'm sure the UPS just misplaced it. With every post you make, my opinion of you shrivels away little by little.
When you first joined, I found your views interesting and worth looking into.
Now I just find you rude, crude, and socially unattractive.
I understand your frustration, to an extent. I have been on sites before and felt that it was not run the way I would run it.
However, our similarities end there.
The world as we know it does not revolve around the personal whims of one individual. If you believe the only one that matters is yourself...
I try to be reasonable, and I aim to be fair in my dealings; however, I'll admit that recently things have been sub-par in reality for us, and events have left me - the site - reeling. I'm not the only one. Everyone here is doing what they can when they can, and considering the circumstances --
Please, stop being childish. You may think you are doing what is best for the site, but directly attacking those who are working together in order to run it in order to 'help' it is a contradiction in terms. In short, for a time, things will lag. Things may fall under. But they will come back up, given a little more time. But if you feel that the only ones that are worthy of a role are just those that currently have nothing else to do, and not those who know what they are doing and are temporarily swamped with life, then you have no place here. We are dedicated; we have been here for a long time, a good deal of us. We have kept with the site far longer than you have ever known it existed.
That is all I have to say to you.
Edit: If I sound irate, that's for a reason. I am tired - of this, of a lot of things, and that is majorly beginning to show. That is a reason why I am taking a brief hiatus. I likely am not the only one who is. Apologies if I offend - to all but Role, for I am very much not sorry for my words.

I don't mean to jump on the band wagon here, but... no, wait. Yes I do. Mainly because I'm rather sick of being insulted when I try to do nice things for people, kthnx.
Yeah, see, there's the little problem of people being dead that many of us feel we need to, oh, I don't know, mourn maybe just a little before thinking we can take on a couple of new tasks. That's two massive losses to our moral, as well as grouping. Especially since a number of us knew them (though not entirely myself) personally. I'm rather sick of being nice.
Shut. Up. The world does not, in fact, revolve around you, and some of us are more grown up to realize that.
There's been enough issues with all of the staff being smacked with everything all at once. I personally love keeping up with all the members here, seeing their ideas, watching what they have to say and do. I feel we are all, in a way, a family. But there are some of us that need to gather our crap here in life before we can stand on our feet. I realize that, as part of the staff, I need to be active. I need to be here. Well, we happen to be, thanks. Send a PM, we read them usually. It may take us a while, but we do. Have a problem? Sure! We can do what we can to fix it. But the more you whine, the harder it is for us to do your job. I'm not going to comment on your grammat/spelling-- that's been done, and I'm not much better. It may seem like we're ganging up on you.
We probably are.
Maybe because we care about other members and feel a need vent sometimes. Maybe because we look out for everyone, tending to express our individual views JUST LIKE YOU. This seems a good enough place to do it.
We've already decided we're not over hauling everything. For someone who's only been here a month, you have a lot of ideas. That's a good thing. But you know that thing where you open your mouth and put your foot in it? You're doing that right now, and only making yourself look silly. It sounds harsh. I am being harsh. If you want a position, try out for it. If you get it? Good! You were what we were looking for. But this is NOT the way to going about seeing your name in pretty colored text.
By the way. Read the rules.
4) No Member Bashing I'm repeating myself, but its no fun to have someone continually hi-jack threads flaming another member.
5) No Staff Bashing Us staff members get no payment for our labors looking out for the boards, and as such we kindly ask you to respect us. We are not gods, we make mistakes, but don't think you can abuse us.
That's there for a reason, and we've already had to deal with that, as it is, and would not like to continue having to do this. And as a mod, I plan to enforce this for the simple fact that, yes, we've been lenient, and need to crack down, and that it's NOT HELPING anyone getting around to doing what they need to do, staff wise and member wise as well. Change comes slowly sometimes. Politeness tends to help. You catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. And as Seph has said-- yeah. That life thing? And swamping? It happens. TO EVERYONE. And we're all a little tired, still upset. And have probably had it up to past our eyeballs with this ridiculousness. Hence the irritation, if not being outright pissed off by the fact that around every corner, we're expected to be perfect and continue to cater to everyone's whims.
Please get a reality check. People sometimes aren't like that and sometimes just aren't very nice when you push their buttons/limits. Which you've done.
And I'm not apologizing for showing my limits, either. I post this not as staff, but also as a MEMBER. Keep in mind we're living beings.
The way I see it, the problem is twofold - the first is that you're taking this as a personal attack, when I'm just trying to get a heads up and tell y'all that something needs to be done.
But the more important one, though, is that you need to make your presence known. Even IF you're really working hard in the background, if you don't put something out there to show for it people will lose faith. That is NOT to say that you don't have anything, it's just that you've not said or done anything that the players can see.
This lack of faith leads to people leaving whom otherwise would have been good roleplayers. I doubt that's what you want. All you need is something simple letting people like us know what's going on. This is easily accomplished by a simple thread letting everyone know you're still here, and talking about things you've been working on. You don't have to give full details, in fact for story-based stuff you should be vague on purpose, but at least show people that you're actually doing something. Some of us KNOW you are, but there are others with a lot less faith.
tl;dr - If you don't have some kind of actions to support your words, even if your words are true, people won't believe you and will lose faith. Just let them know a little about what you've been working on and it should be enough.
Edit: I must say though that the activity check is a very good first step.
And I'm sorry you misunderstood me. It wasn't meant to bash anyone or as a personal attack. I don't think anyone's a robot, and I understand that you've got personal limits. Just let us know when something comes up or you're gonna be busy or something.

Are we honestly going through this again? Why is it that whenever some site discussion goes on it always ends up with someone being insulted. If people can't learn how to leave others out of thier ideas and complaints about World Destiny then we will never get down to actually making this a better site because everyone hangs on what someone said on (Example) like 2 and still complaining about it on page 6.

Gotta agree with Ominous here, this has strayed off topic greatly. The best thing to do here is to completely forget and ignore ( Possibley delete ) all of the posts that include flaming, I know you all have your strong opinions ( as do I ) But having a fire fight about it will not solve anything.
Aaand here to revive this semi-zombie thread, how about some consideration to laxing the Character-limit rules? As it stands, the Org. XIII outnumber the Dark XII twelve to six. If for no other reason then to help bolster ranks, would anyone have and good for or against arguments on this topic?
Those with World Characters or lesser Canon's might be able to help out some. I know I wouldn't hate seeing both at full power again, even if one or two folks have one in each party. That might be a bit too far, conflict of interest, or whatever, but it could be implemented that no played having one Org. and one Dark. member could be corresponding with themselves [i.e. Splinky can't play Xemnas and Ansem, etc.] to keep it fair.
Well, I have to agree with rook about a character limit rule, only with a different character limit - I find that signatures are hard to do once you get so many characters that you try to link. It kind of forces you to use tinypic and tinyurl. However, even if you increase the character limit by 50%, it would help a great deal. Even with Tinypic/url, you tend to run out of room kinda quick. It may have little to do with the story, but it would help. So long as it's not so big it's abusable, it should be fine.
Another thing that could help is to list a size limit for signature pictures - it would really help people like me who are trying to make sure that they don't page stretch by accident.
And once again, I apologize for dragging the thread off topic. I tend to do stupid things when tired, and that's probably why I went and did something stupid like that. I didn't mean to bash anyone or anything, but even when I'm NOT tired, I have a hard time getting what I'm saying across correctly. It's only worse when I'm tired. After re-reading my earlier posts, I could hardly understand what I was trying to convey. So then, once again, you have my apologies.

Well now that Tonaki is back, i suppose any points I may have brought up in favor of are mooting nicely. Just wanted to try and find a way to get plots moving more fluidly. We need plot action!
Okay, this is relatively minor, but... Can we have a different selection of colors to choose from than the ones we have now? The ones we had now were from 4.0, and work best on a light background... And, well, for people like me whom color dialogue, with the current color scheme, most of what they say may not be all that readable...
Pastels, similar to those of the staff names would help, or just the ability to use a wider variety of colors (currently, the tag doesn't seem to have the standard 16,777,216 colors usually available to it... It seems to be restricted to the 16 in the colors box instead). Nevermind, it seems to be working as it should.
Anywho, I guess it'd just be a courtesy for those not familiar with hex codes to plug into the tag. Again, minor, but... Just a suggestion.

Actually, I have a solution for that! If you use firefox, look for the color picker/blender plug in. I have it and I use it for all sort of things, text color included!
EDIT: Pfff. Should explain more.
What the color picker for Firefox does it allow you to use any color of any pixel in your browser window, as well as give you blending/color options. It appears as an eye dropper in the corner of your screen~
Yes, but there are those that don't have firefox for some crazy reason, so it'd be more of a courtesy for them. Me? I'm perfectly fine with hexcode. Though, I guess I should ask if it's even possible... I mean, with invisionfree for example, I, for the life of me, cannot find a way to change what colors are available. If it's something like that here, then I guess the whole thing is moot.
Again, it's nothing major or important, but it is helpful for those whom want it.
You can get firefox via the internet for free over at firefox's website, if I'm not mistaken.
I must ask, though... about the Online/Offline thing next to the profile names... was that supposed to be going vertical or something? It just seems odd to me, kinda out of place...
Perhaps placing it underneath the profile pic would look better?
