In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Her eyes snapped open. Darkness surrounded her, and she felt the tug of gravity. There was however, absolutely no wind. The air around her was dead, and she didn’t seem to be falling very fast. The darkness loomed everywhere, frightening, yet… comforting as well. Suddenly something else loomed. A circular platform, made of stained glass. It had two hearts displayed on it. One that was mostly white with a small swirl of black, and one that was mostly black with a small swirl of white. She landed gently on the glass. A voice rang out in her mind.
Darkness and light in harmony... Together in balance... Child of the light, make your choice...
Three beams of light appeared. At the same moment, Rose's weapons vanished. They reappeared instantly in the light.
The sword... Weapon of warriors, a strong blade from a foreign land... The gun... A soldier's weapon, powerful and destructive... The hammer... A weapon made by you, a weapon made by science... Choose your path, child of light...
"Wait, what? Choose my what? I gotta pick? The voice didn't answer, and Rose looked at the weapons in front of her. The Sword? It was mostly for looks. She wasn't very good with it. The gun was bought because she needed something to shoot with, and she was a crappy sniper. But the hammer, she had made herself. She had built it, and it was her weapon of choice. There was no contest, really. She walked up to the hammer, and grabbed it.
Your choice is made, child of the light. You have chosen well...
Her sword returned to its sheath, her shotgun to its holster. Her hammer appeared in her hand. A door appeared in a flash of light and opened. Blinding white light poured out. Rose slowly walked towards it.
Go through this door, and to your destiny... Fight for the balance of the worlds... For that is the path you have chosen...
Rose entered the door, and the light surrounded her...

Arlan felt himself falling, slowly. Tilanis was gone. Halen was gone. Rose was gone. All of it... Gone. It was a brand new area. He reached in his pocket it to pull out his Kali Princia card, but he found that it was gone, as were all the other cards. He gasped and started to worry. Where was everything? Where was he? He looked down, and all around, not seeing a thing. And yet, all of a sudden, he landed on something. He looked to the ground, but there was nothing there. Yet in a bright flash of light, there finally was. A stained glass circular spot of ground shone below him. It was colored black, white, and Gold and had a picture of Arlan with a card above his head on one side, and Tilanis, in his original form, with a strand of fur above his. All of a sudden, a voice appeared as if out of nowhere.
"Luck... The true Neutral Lying between darkness and light It holds no bias The choice is yours... Take your pick"
Arlan looked to the three pedestals that appeared around him. Floating above one, he noticed his sword. The voice spoke again.
"The Sword, a show of strength. Conjured from the card and used with great ability. Held in both hands and used as needed whenever needed."

He then looked to the next. On it, his card holster floated, the deck of 52 cards could be seen inside of it
"The Card, a show of luck. Magic summoned from cards to defeat the enemies. Ability used to control the cards themselves as well."

And on the last, Tilanis, in both his human form and his wolf form. Arlan stepped closer to it and a tear formed in his eye at the sight of the human form that was shown of his friend.
"The wolf, a show of friendship. A friend summoned from the card to aid wherever necessary A special bond between the two who had lost everything."

The voice ended as the lights shown on them, telling Arlan to choose which was most important. He turned around and looked to his sword, and then to his cards. Sure, the sword was good to use when he might run out of cards. But a sword could break, and be unable to be used. Then the cards. Great power came from them, and some that were hard to live with. But there were only 52, and he was always unsure what he would get. While they were great weapons, he looked back to his friend.
"Tilanis... Without you, I would still be wandering the worlds, looking for something to fill the void. Sure, without my sword or my cards, I wouldn't be able to fight like I love to do. But... Tilanis... Without you, I wouldn't have the cards or the sword. I choose you. I choose my friend!" He said to the mysterious voice. The images of Tilanis disappeared into an orb of light and flew toward Arlan, being absorbed into his body. The other two disappeared as well, the holster returning to his arm, and the sword to the card in his pocket. Tilanis appeared before him, in human form this time.
"I guess I get to fight with you for now, Arlan." Arlan almost cried as he heard his friend's voice. His real voice. He hadn't seen the real form of Tilanis in four years, and heard his real voice since then either. He gave a great hug to his friend, another tear leaving his face as he said "Yeah... Yeah... We can fight together. Come on...." He said as he looked to a door that appeared.
"Two friends, reunited. Now go through the door, and meet your destiny."

The voice spoke again as the two friends walked up to the door and each grasped a handle. They looked to each other before opening the door together. They really were the best of friends. Before he walked through the door, he hit the button on his holster, randomizing the cards. He looked to Tilanis and said "Hope you haven't lost your touch while as a wolf." Tilanis laughed and said "Guess you'll just have to find out, huh?" The two laughed as they walked through the door.
[Card list below. Since it's a different thread, he has all of his cards again. And here is an image of what Tilanis looks like as a human. His main ability is based off of wind and the control of wind. [Pic]]
The Light faded and Rose found herself on another stained glass platform. This one was... Moving? White and black and grey, perfectly matched, perfectly proportioned, spun under the glass, each fighting for dominance. Everytime one got an advantage another would take it away.
Light, Dark, Nothing... The three elements of the universe... Forever struggling... Forever fighting... What is your destiny? Will you choose a side? Will you unite, or divide? Perhaps you will do neither... Perhaps you will take no side... Or perhaps you will take all sides. The twilight is on you, and dawn is far away... The Darkness is coming. Where is your light? Your light is your friends, should you make any... Is this one your friend?
A flash of light, and a shadow appeared pressed into the floor. It stood, and shook its head, it's antennae waving behind it. Rose? Rose better? "Halen? How did... Where did... What the hell?"
Or perhaps this is your friend? The one who follows luck?
Another light flashed, and two people appeared. One was... "Arlan?"

Arlan and Tilanis walked forward through the door, engulfed in Light. They found themselves back on Radiant Garden. "How? How is this possible? Wait... Is that.. Me?" He said as he looked down to a scene shown to him. It was when he met Tilanis. The two had litterally run into each other and started to get mad. They both liked fighting and had done so with each other. But Arlan scratched Tilanis' face with a stick and Tilanis dropped. It was then that they gained a friendship. Arlan felt bad for doing so. It was fine when there was no blood, but as soon as the blood was shed, they realized how things were between them.
They shared their fateful stories about their families, and they realized they would be together forever. The two were startled as the voice appeared again.
"Two friends Together forever A bond was formed But where would it lead? A witch? A change? A wolf? How would the friends change?"

The two were engulfed in light again before watching themselves 4 years ago on the Pride Lands. They watched as the witch flipped her coin and cast the magic on Tilanis, permanently turning him into a wolf. The scene followed them back to Radiant Garden, showing that her words were true. But a few words from a crying Arlan made the present day Arlan remember his promise. "I'll never let anything happen to you. Never again... Not to my brother...." He hadn't realized back then that he had said brother, but it was at that time that he thought of Tilanis as not a friend, but as a brother.
The light came again and they found themselves walking through the other side of the door. Before his eyes had adjusted, he heard a familiar voice. "...Arlan?" Arlan looked up to Rose and Halen. She was here? But... She was left on Radiant Garden, wasn't she? He ran forward to her and exclaimed "Rose! You're alright! But... How are you here?" He then stopped in front of her as Tilanis walked up and said "Friend of yours, A?" Arlan looked behind him to Tilanis and wasn't sure how to respond... Was Rose his friend? This was unlike Arlan... He didn't make friends, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything. It was then that he thought about what he had just done in Radiant Garden.
He had helped out Rose in a way that he had never done to anyone before. He rarely released the cards and used them in the way that he did. He at first thought that he hadn't even done it for Tilanis, but then remembered that he didn't use the cards until after Tilanis had been made a wolf. He then looked back up to Tilanis and Rose. "Yeah... Yeah. She's a friend of mine." He said, then looking to Tilanis. "But you aren't Tilanis. If you were, you would know who she was..." He said, accusingly as the Tilanis before him turned into the witch that had turned his friend into a wolf. The witch then said the last words she said to the two of them before she had disappeared 4 years ago. "The next time you find me will be when you find a way to return your friend to normal!" And then the image of the witch before him disappeared.
Arlan fell to the ground, having to have accused his friend, Tilanis, of being fake. It felt so real, but it was just an illusion. It was now that he realized just how much he needed Tilanis, and how his choice was the right one. The orb of light that had been absorbed by Arlan had burst from his body and floated in front of him. Arlan looked to it as it transformed into the card that usually held the Wolf form of Tilanis. The image of his wolf face was on it, and he knew that this was real. He grabbed the card and threw it to the side "Tilanis!!" He shouted as the wolf burst forward from the card with a loud growl. The wolf walked over to Arlan as he stood and looked at Rose.
"I meant what I said... You are my friend... If that's okay with you." He said, wondering what she would say to this statement.
"I have no idea whether or not I'm alright. I guess so. But who... or what... was that?" She said, staring at where the illusion had vanished. Then she said, "Yes, I'll accept that. Friends are for life though. Remember that." She looked at the ground, and asked, "Quick question, do you have any idea what the phrase 'Light, Dark, Nothing; the three elements of the universe' means? Whats with the... colors beneath the glass? It's like they are fighting."
(happens after you answer) The ground began to shake. The white under the glass began to vanish. The black and the grey mixed together, triumphant. The glass cracked, and the colors seeped out, like a gas. They began swirling faster and faster, and a shape began to emerge...

Arlan sighed at the question. "That was the witch that changed my friend, Tilanis, into a wolf. We met her on a world called the Pride Lands. You turn into an animal on that world. I became a bird and him a wolf. When we lost the fight, she cursed Tilanis to live as a wolf forever. The person before it was what Tilanis used to look like." He said, but then she asked another question.
Light, Dark, and nothing.... "The light, the world we live in... The darkness... Probably referring to the Heartless, and nothing... Not sure. I heard of creatures with no hearts before. Maybe thats what thats referred to. And the colors, representing those elements..." He would have continued, but the glass started to crack as the black and gray overpowered the white and swirled out from underneath the glass. However, Arlan wasn't looking at the creature that had started to form. He was looking at the image beneath the glass.
It was colored a mix of black and white, showing Arlan on the side with Tilanis in his wolf and human form behind him. He was facing none other... Then Rose. She was on the other side, with the heartless Halen and another strange creature. A creature that was primarily silver with a zipper on him. Arlan hadn't seen the creature before, nor had Rose mentioned it. But it had to have some sort of significance... Right? Either way, he looked up at the gas like substance as it rose into the air, forming a creature... A big one at that. The mix of black and gray. If Arlan's assumption was right, then was this a creatured mixed of Darkness and Nothingness? And if so, did it just overpower the light? Or was Rose and Arlan the light, meant to fight this creature? He looked to the wolf of Tilanis he had summoned a few moments ago, knowing that he needed his brother, now more then ever.

The black and grey swirled faster and faster. The Black solidified first. In the moment Rose could see it, she saw a heavily muscled body with a heart shaped hole in the middle. The grey swirled to cover the creature, taking on the form of angular, pointy armor or cloth. Four barbed tentales sprouted from the neck. The armor/cloth was silvery, and had a long zipper, which was open at the head for the black monster's head. The black monsters hands and feet were also uncovered, and Rose saw giant clawed hands, and ridiculous tiny pointy feet. Individually, it would have been comical, but the effect overall was terrifying. "Arlan, remember what I said back in that canyon? If you got any big guns, use 'em? That."
Do not be afraid... You have the light on your side...
Halen began to glow. The white lines that crisscrossed him spread until they covered his entire body. He became pure white. "Halen? What the-?" I don't know! Suddenly... The Darkness... its gone! "The bigger surprise is that you're talking coherently!" I noticed. It's probably temporary. Let's use it while we got it! "Arlan, Tilanis! Lets get this guy!"

Arlan watched as the creature grew. He noticed the changes between it being a giant creature of darkness, to almost gaining a silver coat. He wasn't sure what this meant, but he wasn't ready to let it beat the two of them. He nodded toward Tilanis. "Go get him..." He said, Tilanis nodding back before running forward and jumping to grab the arm of the giant creature.
He looked to Rose and nodded, not too worried about the change to Halen. This place was a mysterious place, and Arlan was learning to expect anything from it. But that didn't mean he couldn't still rely on the power of Luck. "The luck of the draw!" He shouted as he grabbed toward his card holster, pulling a card from it. It was...
[Dice roll for Card. Range is 1-52. Result, number.... 38. Card... Evocation. Further dice rolls to do. Range of 1-2. 1 is the card works, 2 is the card does not. Result, number... 1. Card works. Final roll. Range of 1-4. 1 is Fire, 2 is ice, 3 Thunder, and 4 is Earth. Result, Number... 1, Element is Fire.]
Evocation! Arlan laughed as he looked to Rose. "You wanted Big guns... You got it! Evocation!" He shouted as he threw the card in the air. It landed on the ground and a wheel appeared with a check mark on one side and a X on the other. IT spun around before finally stopping on... The Check mark! The Evocation card would work. Another wheel appeared, showing colors of Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. It spun around as well before finally stopping on the color red. He looked to Rose and said "You may want to move away."
Suddenly, the earth started to shake as the symbol glowed and then grew. A giant red, firey hand reached out and grabbed the edge before another one did the same. Then came the head of the creature, and finally, the whole body was pulled out of the ground. He stood as tall as the black and silver creature with flames courseing through the hot lava and molten rock body. A loud roar was sent throughout the area as Tilanis let go of the creature and ran back to Arlan. The fire god that had come from Arlan's card thrust his hand forward, releasing a torrent of fire upon the being before it.
Arlan looked to Rose as the blank card would return to his hand. "How's THAT for big guns?" He said, laughing as he watched the giant fire god do damage.
[Gotta love dice rolls sometimes. Watch... Next time I get the card... If I get it again, it's not gonna work, lol.]
(Actually [draws on vast store of useless knowledge gained by reading Jurassic Park] Complexity {or Chaos} theory states that no matter the seeming randomness, all things self organize. What that means for you is that things tend to come in trends.)
"Hey Halen, got any new tricks?" One! Hold still! "What? Why should-" Halen collapsed into a puddle on the ground, and slithered under Rose's feet. His shadowflesh moved up her leg, and quickly encased her body. Rose's skin absorbed Halen, lighting in the prosess. Her body began to change. At about that moment, a giant lava monster came up out of nowhere, and blasted the giant creature. Rose didn't notice, as she was busy undergoing a transformation of her own. Her skin, hair and eyes lightened, her clothes become white, and energy surged through her.
(This transformation is going to take a round to complete. Protection would be totaly awesome.)

Arlan watched as Halen seemingly merged with Rose. Rose appeared in a trance like state as she started to transform. He wasn't sure what he should do, but it seemed like it was taking awhile. He pulled out his Transmutation card and summoned his sword. He might need it to protect Rose while the Transformation was going on.
Meanwhile, the large fire god struck the giant heartless with a flaming fist after he gathered dark energy and slammed the ground. Several shadow heartless started to appear. Arlan knew that they would come toward him and Rose, so he was ready. Tilanis came to their side as well as they both started attacking heartless after heartless. He wasn't going to let anyone harm his brother or his friend. Of that, he was going to make sure of. So the heartless were kept at bay as the giant fire god continued to surround the giant heartless beast with fire. He knew he wasn't going to be around for long, so he surrounded him with fire. Now it was a matter of waiting for the Rose and Halen transformation to be complete.
Rose slowly opened her eyes. She began giving of a small white aura. What the hell is this? This is something else. We are one, for a short while. I feel... strong. Really strong. Use it while you got it. This internal dialogue was interrupted as Rose was surrounded by gray sparking energy. It flashed, and picked her up, holding her arms and legs. The creature got in her fac, and readied punch. Halen's sword appeared in her hand in a puff of darkness, and Rose swung with all her might. She landed a powerful whack on the thing's face, and it went flying. It stopped over the emptiness that surrounded the platform, standing on nothing. Its arms stretched crazily as it grabbed her and pulled itself in. It then threw her into the and tried again to punch her. Rose reacted, using Halen's sword as a shield, and bounced off the fist. She slashed backhand, and hit the creature in the back of the head. It fell over, and slipped over the side of the Platform. Rose landed with a flourish, and bowed to Arlan. "Nice, huh?"
Post by Jason Arilani on Dec 31, 2010 1:49:11 GMT -4
Arlan watched Rose as she had finished her transformation. As Rose started her attack upon the giant creature, the fire god was no longer able to remain in the battlefield. He looked to Arlan and bowed before him, hoping that the one who had summoned him was pleased. Arlan nodded as the fire god sunk into a ring of fire. Arlan then looked back up as Rose finished her attack, landing gracefully and asking him a question.
"Oh. Just going to show me up, huh?" He said. He would've continued talking, but the ground started to shake as the creature started to tip the pillar over. Soon enough it was completely flipped over. Arlan panicked for a second before looking at Tilanis and knowing what to do. "Tilanis!" He said as he grabbed the blade part of his sword, allowing Tilanis to grab the hilt of the sword. With a quick thrust, he threw the sword and the wolf into a giant orb of energy that the creature was trying to use.
The sword wolf combo connected with the giant orb and it broke, the pillar returning to normal. Arlan fell over onto the pillar. Unfortunately, Tilanis and the sword kept going the other side. "No!" Shouted Arlan as he held his hand out. Miraculously, the two turned back into their card forms and the cards flew back to Arlan's hand. He grabbed them, and winced in pain, realizing the blood that came from his hand as he had grabbed the blade of his sword. He threw the cards again, releasing both, as the creature created another large ball. Suddenly the large ball started releasing smaller orbs of energy outward. Arlan quickly dodged one as it fired toward him. He just hoped that they could take this creature out soon.
The platform tilted crazily and rose steabbed Halen's sword deep into the ground, trying not to fall. As the platfrom flipped she saw the giant dark creature charging a huge energy ball. Arlan flung his sword and Tilanis and the orb exploded, injuring the creature and returning the Platfrom to normal. The creature floated above it and began flinging small energy blasts out everywhere. Rose waved her hands, and dark ice shot up in a bubble around her and Arlan. As the blasts hit it, it began to crumble.
"Arlan, I think its time to finish this guy! I'll give you a boost!" She crouched as the ice bubble failed, holding her hands cupped near the ground.

Arlan watched as Rose had protected him with a bubble of Ice. He didn't think that she had any magic powers, but then figured it was probably a boost from what Halen was giving her. Arlan stood up and looked at Rose as she said that she would give him a boost. He laughed and shook his head. "Kali Princia!" He said as he pulled out the card from his pocket. It separated in two, flying to the back and transforming into wings. He ran toward the creature and flapped the wings hard, taking him to the air.
As he got all the way to the top of the creature, he kept flying, Tilanis keeping him distracted from the ground. Once high enough, he said "Let's finish this!" Quickly turning down he folded his wings back and shot down toward the head of the creature. He held his sword up high and as he was in range, he quickly stabbed forward, stabbing directly through the head. But he didn't stop there, he sliced down the entire length of the creature. As he reached the end, he flipped back with the wings and landed next to Rose, the wings returning to a card and the card returned to his pocket.
The creature screeched as he started to vanish. Arlan fell down to his knees, his hand covered in blood. With staggered breaths, he said "Cu... Cura..." With that said, a green light surrounded Arlan as his hand was cured. Standing up, he sheathed his sword with Tilanis returning to his side. The cracked stained glass had finally fixed itself as the creature returned to the black and gray vapor that it had once been before dissolving into the air. "Is... Is that it?" He said, looking back down to see the image on the pillar of Rose and Arlan facing each other. He was glad to have a new friend.

Rose stood and laughed as Arlan sprouted wings and took to the sky. He flew above the monster, and cleaved it in two. It roared and dissolved into the crack in the glass below its feet. The glass spontaneously repaired itself. For the first time, Rose noticed the image of her, Halen, Arlan, Tilanis, and a strange white creature with two swords. "Is... Is that it?" "I guess so." Rose began to shake slightly, and a white substance pooled on the ground beneath her. Her body and clothes went back to normal. Halen stood next to her, and Darkness swirled back across his body. however, there seemed to be less of it. (...LIGHT RECOVERED: 35%...) Rose stopped shaking, and blinked a few times, readjusting to being alone in her head. She then stooped over, examining the unknown being on the glass. "Halen, do you know who or what this is?" Halen cocked his head, and stared at the picture for a few seconds. It seemed familiar, but Halen didn't have a clue why. He shook his head. Halen not know.
Light, Darkness, and Nothing... The three elements... People, Heartless and Nobodies... The three beings... Balance is gone, and the scales have shifted. To restore the balance, find the Light that is hidden... And do not be afraid... You are not alone...
A huge light flashed. Rose opened her eyes.
