In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

A few words before I go back to lurkerville for a bit.
We shouldn't take away keyblades. Period. In the game, keyblades weren't taken away, and that would cause too much confusion. We should only take keyblades away for those who aren't active at all.
But consider this when thinking about the keyblades. Three people on Destiny Islands got keyblades. There isn't that big of a population there. And yet, 3 keybladers came out of it. Now, imagine some place as big as Traverse Town. The population there easily doubles Destiny Islands. Most likely more, but for the sake of being correct I'll leave it at doubling. Now, it would make sense if, since Traverse has double the population, that Traverse would have twice the amount of keybladers as well. Leaving Traverse with 6. More, when you take into account the population that I purposely left out.
Anyway, now that that's all out of the way, the main problems with this plot are:
1. People getting ahold of canon characters, losing interest, and not posting, save for one or two times. We need people who can be on to type up a response when needed. Not having to wait three days and THEN get a response. Same goes for keyblade wielders, and world characters to an extent.
2. People allying with the darkness when really their character is a good person and just trying to be a spy for the good guys and become the hero and the plan goes wrong and they turn dark and they have dramatic flashbacks.
This isn't a fanfic.
Things like this shouldn't be happening. I propose five positions you can take. Light: the good guys. Dark XII: Should only be the Dark XII. Same goes for the Org. XIII. Misc. Dark: People who are like my character, Thane. They're dark, but they choose no side and are by themselves. Neutral: The shopkeeper, the father of two, the mercenary. Basically, the huge miscellaneous section.
Furthermore, who in the world would even think of trying to pull THAT off all by themselves? Seriously, your character has to be stupid or have a death wish to go for that kind of plan. You can't just say "Oh, I'll have him do this and he'll eventually be saved." You have to take into account human tendencies. And that doesn't include being so brave you charge into battle heroically. People who take on an army by themselves normally end up dead.
Basically, what we need is for the characters to wake up. You can't win this whole war going on in the plot by yourself, you have to have friends. And those friends have to have friends. And all your friends have to have leadership in some shape or form. As much as Donald and Goofy were pretty much useless in the game, Sora in the end needed his friends to help him on his path to defeating his enemies.
I'll add other things when other issues pop up.
EDIT: A bit more than a few words. Sorry.

"We shouldn't take away keyblades. Period. In the game, keyblades weren't taken away, and that would cause too much confusion. We should only take keyblades away for those who aren't active at all."
Sora had his Keyblade taken away in Hollow Bastion in a pivotal part in the game. Riku lost it in turn.
"But consider this when thinking about the keyblades. The Keyblades are not alleles and they are not given out based not based a percentage of strength of a person's Heart. They go Riku, Sora, Kairi, and Mickey because they have the strongest Hearts. This is proved in the first game, as Sora takes the Kingdom Key away from Riku. Riku's Heart was still as strong as it ever was, but Sora's Heart was stronger still. The idea is, there isn't anyone in Traverse Town, Twilight Town, Agrabah, Port Royal, or...Monstro's innards, with a Heart stronger than these main characters. This is why giving them out at all is tricky...unless we create an entire plot around the Keyblades to explain why they are suddenly appearing, or argue that new characters have stronger Hearts, it will continue to be tricky.
If we play by...if you have X amount of strength in your Heart, you get a Keyblade, then Aerith and Davy Jones should get one too.
The latter half of your post is mostly a matter of rp technique and not a fundamental cornertstone for making this site work. If people put their characters in dangerous situations, then they will be defeated, it's true. So, let those characters be defeated. Not everyone is going to win. Maybe no one will.
Donald and Goofy being useless in the game is stricly a matter of opinion. I, for one, take them into very serious account when developing Sora. They are an integral part of the game in every way.
There were a lot of good points made. Currently, I don't have my glasses on, so I'm going to just make a quick point and... well... cover the basics later. First off-- Rook's idea of "THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW" thread. GOOD IDEA. Second off-- plot for the worlds. Gather the main players of said worlds (such as Hades for his, Santa and Jack for theirs) and ask them what their character's plan on doing. See? That covers world plots. If there aren't players to OCs, sit the staff down, come up with ideas, then bring it to the rest of the forum for further brainstorming/suggestions to decide.
Third off-- world histories. Also a good idea. As well as the timelines.
Last off for this quick post-- the staff. Although Aryn made many good points, I think the whole thing just needs revision. Along with the main plot. These are, site wide, our largest problems. And I think that it was help to do well to start of with revising the staff first and foremost, so that we are betterprepared to handle the REST of the site.
I could argue about what happened then, the first time Aryn's ideas came up, but it's really pointless to argue over it.
However, there are a few problems that I see at the moment. On a minor, minor technical bit, Nodobies are not light. They are, literally, nothing. The light in a heart consumed by a Heartless is destroyed. It can be brought back via various methods, such as the Keyblade. But it is by no means stored in any way, shape, or form in the Nobody.
Also... "This is why giving them out at all is tricky...unless we create an entire plot around the Keyblades to explain why they are suddenly appearing, or argue that new characters have stronger Hearts, it will continue to be tricky. "
I was under the impression that this plot /is/ coming, hence the keyblades. I'm not going to try and argue that other characters do or don't have stronger hearts than Sora and friends - that's not the point, with the new plot coming.
Now, I can already see one counter argument: "Where is this mythical plot of which you speak?" Well, it was released a while back. We made dark keyblades for it. It's yet to be implemented. So, that's on the list of things that needs to be done.
Historians, World Mods, General World Info - all good ideas.
Adding more worlds - this is a tricky one. Sure, people want. say, Agrabah. But for every one that wants Agrabah, there's another that wants Atlantica, and another that wants Beast's Castle, and another that wants Gaurdia (*nudgenudgewinkwink*). The problem is, if we add every world that people want to see, then we end up over working the staff. So why I understand the want for new worlds - it comes up more often than you might think - it's a tricky proposition.
World histories - There are two parts to these. One is the story up to the beginning of World Destiny. This would include the FF histories or movie histories, as well as the histories from the KH games themselves. The other part is what's happened in World Destiny. How about the virus that Tron was infected with? Or Hades' failed plot of a tournament of death? These things should be known.
*pokes the above posts* I will have to agree with Leon on handling staff revisions before we take care of anything else. It's far more effective to handle one thing at a time than to try to handle multiple issues at once.
Try to cover multiple fronts and you'll get nowhere at all, just a lot of headbutting, bellyaching, and discussing. Never any action. I've seen this happen quite a bit here.
The quickest way to get somewhere is one step at a time.
*will post her ideas in a later post: physics lab work now*
*cough* Anyways-- actually, a thought on the keyblades. I, personally, show issue with the ones that Sora possessed in KH and KH2 should still stay with Sora. My reasoning: keychains gather the feelings of the heart, the Light in it, or the Dark in it, and so forth. They are shaped that way because of Sora. You'd have characters that have given Sora these gifts, then see someone else entirely running around, and freak out. They were gifts to lend Sora strength when they themselves could not.
OCs should have OC keyblades, if the keyblades do indeed stay. It actually is not that hard to do. It's just another addition to profiles, actually. Make a section for those who've proven worthy of a keyblade. Have themsubmit this. Instructor/other staff member (depending on how it's all revised) looks it over and does the same with character profiles. Instructors are still permitted to put characters into review to reconsider it, right? Same thing would apply to the keyblade.
hat's just been a personal thing since coming to the site.
As for plot relevance, Kaze has a point. Everything is connected, and what half the problem her eis is that not all the right people are informed. King Mickey hasn't spoken to Leon, who's worried about Sora, who can't talk to Tifa, and the rest of the worlds, and so said army to oppose things... kind of flops. The hardest part I find of giving the Organization something to do is that... well... there's nothing really TO do.
I find it irksome that people who know of things they shouldn't causing more issue than actual people who DO know.
Those are more complaints, but I think them pertinent in the sense that it ties in; the plot isn't being followed because there's no catalyst to make it move along. Hence the, again, suggest just to start over. Worlds themselves create histories, and also start to form their own plots simply due to the amount of people going there.
Yup. I'm still putting in for starting the plot over. Keeping a lot of the original elements, but perhaps coming at it all from a different angle. Maybe something more loosely defined so that it can be flexible; characters will effect others and will change what actions they do, and thusly change plot and mark down histories and create more characters and more opportunities. I've seen it time and again, even in just simple English assignments.
I digress, though. Cadence is right; one step at a time.
EDIT: Another thing, and it just occured to me, at something Aryn said. Baddies actually DOING bad things and doing it when they should, on their own. That-- that is a very good idea. Planning, yes, but suddenly implementing it, and that will give characters to opose or react to it a bit more of an interesting time.

I'm too tired. I should have my keyboard unplugged. *replies anyhow*
I agree that there probably aren't hearts stronger than those four, but the question is to why stop with only those four. Sora's heart is presumably stronger than some of those four, so then why do they still have keyblades if Sora has the strongest heart? There must be a cap somewhere so Aerith or Davy Jones don't have keyblades, but it doesn't mean that every single OC is below Aerith of Davy Jones. The OC's will simply be judged, along with the Rpers who create them. And before I forget to add this in, Sora and Riku both got the keyblades back by the end of the second game.
I also did not mean Donald and Goofy were useless in the game, I just meant in fights in the game they didn't really do much. I only remember Donald saving me a couple times with cure spells and the limit breaks/whatever they're called. (my copy of KH2 is so dusty...)
The main plot does need revision. Revision. Not a full scale revamp unless it is completely necessary. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
So....we've established that we have some good ideas and that some need to be molded, worked with, changed, discussed some more etc.
When do we get to actually see these changes in place?
I would like to see some executive decisions now. The sooner a compartmentalized staff is in place, the sooner the discussions will start to be more specific and more productive than this one, and the sooner changes can happen.

Question: If plot threads are to follow a timeline...then there should be Time Stamps. I don't know if you want to give this place seasons...since they aren't necessary at all. I love the idea of historians, it will help members keep track of what have already happened for we won't step out of the boundaries that were made. I would suggest spider webs of a history for every character to keep up with their own plot that they're creating, but it seems we need a better world organization than character.
People want...different worlds...Question: How would we juggle them in with the others worlds already there? Would the worlds we have change when a plot for the world or universal plot is completed with that particular world?
Also the two forms of antagonist, Organization XIII and Dark XII, need more directing to be an influence. Technically without their meddling along with the lessers nobody and heartless...the other characters can't progress the universal plot. It will stand still as individual personal plots continue.

Alright, so. Gonna put my two cents in here >> Gasp, I know.
Anyway, WD, does have a lot of problems and things that are very irking. And the plot is… well, not going anywhere. Because of this, I think it would just be best for the site, and everyone’s sanity, if we just hit the reset button. The site should undergo a big member-flush, getting rid of all of the members that join and never actually DO anything. Then, we should get more staff members to do the various jobs that need doing. (By the way, I am very fond of the previously mentioned idea of having a someone for each world to basically watch over and help out the threads when needed) As well as getting more staff, the plot should definitely be reset and revamped. I’m not saying the plot we have isn’t a good one, it’s just that it’s not going anywhere. We need to find some way to get it moving, and keep it moving. I believe that possibly having staff help this along may work. Or even just member meetings every so often to discuss what should take place.
Adding to what Shiay mentioned earlier, I agree that we should add in most of the KH worlds. Without these worlds, if someone wanted to make Ariel, they would have to claim that her world was destroyed and stick her in Traverse Town, where she’d meet all the other KH characters whose worlds aren’t included here on WD. I know it would be a task to keep all of these boards active, but I feel that adding these worlds will not only attract new members, but encourage other members to get more involved. Worlds that I believe should definitely be included are Atlantica, The Land Of The Dragons, Neverland, Beast’s Castle, and… I had more but my brain just decided to forget them all. >.<
Now, on the whole keyblade subject, I believe we should have a good amount distributed. I do like the idea of having a secret person do this, or whatever it was. It doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult of a task. They would just have to be a person who wouldn’t show any biases and simply choose someone because of their roleplaying abilities.
Other than that, I’m pretty much done for now. And, like I said before, it’s just my opinion… Feel free to disagree with it.

If we're adding worlds, I would fight for Dinosaur (Pangea) to be added along the list, due to my love of prehistoric creatures...
It also has yet to be mentioned.
Most of what I would write here is merely going to be rephrasing what I've either stated earlier or everyone else has, so I shall keep this brief. PM me for the timelines if you wish to assist on this one.
As for keyblades, I do agree about revision of characters that should and should not have one, but I also will restate a point made here earlier -- the keyblades. To be lazy, I shall just repost what was posted in the staff board, as Roxas has already agreed to placing this to a vote, and I do not have the mental energy to retype it:
The keyblades should be none of the canon ones we see Sora wield, Those were granted to Sora and Sora alone; they took the shapes they did due to his interpretation. What you see are keychains being applied to the Kingdom Key, not separate keyblades, and that ought to be remembered.
Instead of personal gifts/achievements of Sora's being tossed to everyone, original keyblades, as brought in contests or by other means, ought to be what others wield. If a character chosen, for example, they could be created by the person chosen to wield. The keyblades seen in KH are Sora's, with two exceptions -- Kairi's, and Riku's. These are two designs Sora will never have, for one specific reason: these keyblades are custom tailored for those two, and no one else. Just as Sora's keyblade and add-on moderations to it belong to him, so are keyblades granted to others equally unique, and always ought to remain as such.
In short, OC keyblades for OC characters. Every one has to be different, and specifically apply to the character that wields it.

I'd toss my hat into the ring for new Worlds, so long as they're familiar to KH (Land of Dragons, Beauty and The Beast, etc.). Anything exceeding that doesn't feel very natural or logical.
And I do agree with Seph on the Keyblades: Canon Keyblades shouldn't just be handed out like party favors. Characters who gain the ability to wield Keyblades should design their own, that makes the weapon something you cherish, not just possess. It becomes personal to you and unique to your character.
As for revising the Wielder List, I can't say I'm a fan of how that sounds. Back in the Dark Keyblade contest, I was suprised and amused that BlackJack placed, and since it was awarded I've still never used it in Board RP, on account of my waiting for the next set of plots to arrive based around said Dark Keyblades. Without that plotline for guidance, Rook suddenly having one was bad writing on my part, no matter how it got sliced. Those plot lines never came about. So we would effectively be allowing members to have Keyblades, democratically, and then taking them away before they even had a chance to be used? It sounds a lot like stealing candy from a baby, and not in the sense that it's "easy to do".

Since someone brought it up -The reason Aerith hasn't got a Keyblade is sort of like the reason the Princesses don't tend to have them. It's not their job, they're busy. The princesses need the Keyblade Wielder to be the active force to complement their deep, subtle passive force.
And Aerith is... something else altogether, but again, a deep and rather more passive force.
Which is no help at all when it comes to other characters and OCs, I realize.
