In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Daichi
The fabrics of reality bended as a dark portal opened. The Replica seemed to drag the darkness along with him as it matched his dark attire; the only thing that stood out from the dark was his white hair, which was blownout with the white walls of Castle Oblivion. Daichi looked like a spot of black ink on a white page as he walked through familiar halls and familiar doors.
He truly didn't care to come back here of all places, but ironically the one he was looking for would be here. Atleast he would be hitting two birds with one stone with this visit. The replica descended down the lower levels as each for was just as vacant and white as the last. His only navigation throughout this building was his memory, but it's quite a blur when everything looked the same.
Where the hell is he?
It would seem obvious; Vexen would be in his lab of all places, so it was the logical place to check first.
Vexen's lab that had once been empty for a long time was now again buzzing with activity. Castle Oblivion's power would make sure that only those that had knowledge of this place could ever find it. For a long time, the Chilly Academic had been rebuilding all his work from scratch. But this time taking in learned lessons of the past.
Large pods and tanks with transparent coverings were stacked in a row. Each harboring a figure inside. Slowly growing out of the essence of nothing. A large computer and console was displaying the status of the process. Displaying mathematical formula's and complex readings. A total of 4 pods were currently active. Workbenches in the corner held a multitude of specially designed tools. While tanks with peculiar resources were hooked by a large apparatus and the computer. Connecting it all.
Staring at the luminescent veil over the tank was none other then the number IV of the Organization. Deeply lost in pondering as he carefully witnessed every detail of his project. So intensely and relying on the privacy of Castle Oblivion, that he neglected the doorway behind him.

Closing his eyes for a moment, he stalked the building blinded as he retraced his frequent steps. A few spawns of shadows had wavered from the ground only to wiggle back when thunder crackled from his hands. Daichi started to feel a transition as the rooms started to become cooler. He stopped before opening his eyes seeing an ajar door. With an inhale, he pushed the door opened not surprised to see Vexen inside.
He made sure to be quiet during his entry; the replica rather not deal with the repercussions of alerting Vexen from his silent concentration that could lead to catostrophic demise of his hardwork. Instead of speaking a welcome first, he gaved around seeing the difference from his memory and what stood before him. Enough things were re-arranged, and there were more active pods with figures within them. The Mad Scientist was doing the typical as usual, "Nothing's changed...always working so diligently."
As the beady eyes of Vexen stared at the pod in front of him. Something was starting to draw his attention away. An unsettling feeling of being watched. Eyes burning in the back of his neck. He could sense there was another presence. His face frowned into a displeased one. For the scientist hated to be disturbed. Glancing upward, Vexen looked at the reflection of the glassy casing to catch a glimpse of who was behind him. But surprise overtook the man as the person was not one of the members of Organization XIII.
With a confused expression, Vexen turned his head round and stared at Daichi who had entered the laboratory. Blinking while being at a lost for moment. Never would Vexen have expected for him to return and show up again. But he knew instantly who it was. The Chilly Academic recognized his work. Not for a mere second did he believe that it was the real Riku standing in front of him.
Slowly his eyes shifted back into a cold glare as he spoke to himself: "The Riku Replica... so it is still active."

The Replica nearly snorted at the remark; he shouldn't have expected more less from the Nobody. He held back his disdain of the label that was stamped back at him; his face remained blank as his arms folded over his chest,"...unless it is like you to make the malfunction."
His creation attempted to keep his wittiness to a minimum even if he was speaking a double edged sword. Admitting his flaw of creating imperfection would likely bruise his ego and reputation, and yet if he went along with the high visage of a genius scientist, it would make his statement quite redudant to break the ice.
Rather than waiting for anything more welcoming from the Chilly Academic, the replica walked over the pods lucidly as if he belonged here and was free to roam as he pleased. His hand reached out to touch the glass.
With inhospitable eyes the Chilly Academic stared at the intrusion in his lab. Seeing the arrogance that his work was displaying toward it's maker. Arrogance he gave it, to keep it focused on it's task. A task it had failed miserable at. But what really puzzled Vexen for now was how it could still be existing. It was destroyed by the real Riku years ago. Then again, his own resurrection was still mainly unexplained. Perhaps the two were tied. That an object that never truly exists, can never truly be destroyed. But for now it was only a theory.
Seeing how the replica was reaching out to touch the pods, Vexen spoke. Placing his hand pondering on his chin. Supported by his other arm that was crossed around his body. with an inquiring voice Vexen asked: "How is it possible for it to still exist while everything else of before has vanished into oblivion. "
It was a riddle that was haunting the Nobodies mind. But then became discarded as he shifted his thoughts back to his current line of work. One that held no place for mistakes of the past. Dismissing his previous question with a callous gesture of his hand, the scientist turned around and started walking away from the remnant.
"Well, never mind. I don't have the time to waste it on a miserable failure..." right after those words, a group of Dusks appeared. Popping out of the betwixt and between around Daichi. Surrounding him.
"Dispose of it." Vexen stated cold, while the Dusks attacked.

His finger clicked against the glass pod not expecting a response from the being inside. So it seems Vexen still had a fetish for replica mechanics. He had mild interest of who or what was inside of it, since it had nothing to do with any of his directives and objectives. Despite his own distraction, he couldn't help but to hear Vexen, and the more words he spoke the idea of seeing the Chilly Academic six feet under fading into darkness became more sensational. Perhaps one of the members of the Organization would dispose of him again; he truly wouldn't be missed.
Azure eyes looked over his shoulders to see dusks. How belittling it was to use the smallest of them all to rid of him. He didn't want to pull out the Soul Eater for the likes of them. He hummed lowly dismissing the thought of summoning the dragoons with the pendant in his pocket; it wasn't neccesary...they were mere dusks after all. He might as well make a mess of them; he didn't see anything benefitial worth absorbing. His right hand sparked with an eletrical cackle forming the chakra.
Target practice... A gleam of purple fluttered through the air to tear nothingness apart.
As the chakram spinned through the air, time seemed to stop for a moment. The Dusks froze up in their movement. And even Vexen halted in his steps as the crackling sound reached his ears. Vexen had created him, he knew every possible action and attack that the replica could make. He knew in the finest detail how each of those possible attacks would sound like. But this was un unknown sound. Something new that was never heard before by the scientist.
After the attack, an anxious moment of silence followed. As then all the Dusks dissapated into nothing. Clearing the room of all Dusks in one single stroke. The platina blond head of the Chilly Academic turned back again. It's eyes baffled and surprised but also intrigued and fascinated. His body followed his head as Vexen turned around completely. With much interest he asked now directly of the replica: "You did not posses that ability before. You have changed. Yes, I see it now.

"A detail you missed," the replica replied blandly as the chakra returned to his hand and faded with a buzz. It nearly slipped Daichi's mind that Vexen wasn't around when that little detail became real, but he wasn't about to entertain the Nobody with them just yet.
What he saw was only one of a few assests he obtained; he should thank Zexion for his lovely contribution. Mentioning the Cloaked Schemer implanted a hole in Xaldin's logic. He haven't told Vexen of his 'survival' yet, then again the Cloaked Schemer would rather dismember him as much as possible himself for recycling.
His arms folded over his chest not liking Vexen's heavy stare at him; he glanced back at him to try to read his face. It would seem like a mute endeavor since expressions rooted with emotions something his creator lacks, and for some reason he doubted he would even want them back. Why would a scientist which to be held back by emotional morale?
"This is an unexpected but interesting development." Vexen thought out loud. "Rather then being trapped in a stagnate state you have found a way to grow and evolve. Using the time given to you fruitfully. But have you only learned new tricks, or have you truly become stronger? That is the real question."
Vexen had now become curious. What more would his replica be capable of doing now? How did it achieve these powers? Questions that were whirling inside the Chilly Academics mind. But midst this storm of thoughts. One clear bright question suddenly shone hard in the eye of it. An epiphany stroke the scientist as he now was looking at the replica with a completely different mind set. Letting the inquiries about his newfound powers go, Vexen's face grew ever so cold and serious. While slowly taking his steps toward Daichi. He spoke on a cutting tone: "No... the real question is. Why are you here? Why have you returned to me. Do you need anything?"
Vexen walked calmly until he was standing right before Daichi. Glancing down with those emotionless eyes, but then at the same time, placing his hand on the boy's shoulder. As he asked: "Or rather... do you miss anything."
For those that know the number IV of the organization, it was obvious that he was not talking about something as simple as a familiarity bond between them as maker and creation. Vexen was probing now in the replica's psyche. As he started to conceive an understanding of what his creation had gone through and could be driving it to return. It could only be something that the replica couldn't achieve on his own.

A brow arched at Vexen wondering how serious was he as he rambled to himself. Isn't it typical for anyone to learn and progress, or was he an exception since he isn't anyone persay? Leaning against the wall, he waited for when Vexen was actually talking to him; funny how the tables turn so quickly he had evolved from an 'it' to a 'you' by a mere change of interest. For a moment, he felt like a pet that had to flaunt tricks for its master's attention.
His gazing around stopped when he heard Vexen move. Quickly his eyes snapped towards him as the blonde approach and casted him in his shadow. He didn't admired the Chilly Academic towering over him nor the evasiveness of space. The little quirk only intensified with the Nobody touched him. Instead of making eye contact, he glanced elsewhere in the general direction of the pods; Daichi perfered not dealing with it too personally without some form of distance, "You tell me, since you know me so well."
Similar to his blueprint, Riku, Daichi had a preference to not be an open book; he's more like a fresh book with tight bindings causing a struggle to open, and when it did, it will close shut forcing the reading to pry it open again.
The sides of Vexen's lips curled up slightly in a devilish way. Sensing the boy's anxiety and reluctance to admit to him. Traits he recognized all to well from the original he casted it off. But there were differences, this replica could still fool Riku's closest friends with his appearance. But it's subtle different behavior would reveal it eventually.
Letting his hand brush off of Daichi's shoulder, Vexen passed the boy as he walked alongside the active pods. Recalling all he knew about his previous replica program. A program from which this Riku replica was the only existing relic left. His greatest achievement. But also a tribute to his lesser understanding of the past. Housing all the mistakes that preceded the current line. Mistakes that contributed to the more evolved new program.
Vexen halted and turned round. Looking again with his cold beady eyes at Daichi as he continued on a sinister tone: "It is the most basic of urges that compels you like all things. You seek a reason to be, a purpose. You drifted aimlessly around with no goals to accomplish. It has left you empty. It is the greatest curse anyone could suffer. Far greater then to not exist at all. To exist and not mean a thing. Isn't that why you have returned remnant? To once more be of meaning."

Already two of the Organization members were homing in on him coming to the same conclusion. His brows dipped once feeling Vexen's gaze on him, but this time he can stare back into them. The replica responded in a low hum not wanting to be too verbal; he perfered Vexen to cut the case and get to the end of it. There was no need to play coy or games when he knew what he wanted.
Don't he just love to hear himself talk...
"Are you finished now?" A brow arched up slightly showing the mild agitation the Nobody was feeding. He couldn't stand how all of them can poke and probe at buttons so effortlessly without feeling the backlash on the same plane. The only thing that truly pains them are the physical ones when they are sliced and diced back into the realm of darkness.
"Finished? Why, I haven't even started." Vexen's voice fluttered a tad at the inquiry. But then morphed back to his normal cackling tone robbed of any type of emotion. The tone of the calculated and uncaring scientist that considers all life as one big subject for him to experiment on. The temperature in the room started to drop, just enough to be noticed. As it reflected the Chilly Academic moods and mindset. Slowly gesturing with his arm to emphasize his words, Vexen explained:
"You come here to me seeking a reason to exist. But why should I grant you this when you have failed in accomplishing your first task? You are the most strongest of all my previous attempts, my greatest achievement. Still you are a failure. You are flawed and broken, due to a fundamental error in your design. A fault that plagued your entire generation. A mistake that I have eliminated in the new generation of replica's to be. And now you have become obsolete. The only use you still have is to serve as a reminder so I won't repeat my previous disaster."
Vexen then remain silent. Observing the reaction of the replica as he gave it time to let the words sink in. Anything could now possible happen. The most logical response would be anger and aggression. So Vexen was mentally preparing for such an outcome.

The replica's face tensed with agitation with the tightening of his muscles; his jaw flexed, but he gripped every fiber in his being to not retort back and entertain an apathetic Nobody. They make lack emotions, but that doesn't close the door to a sick twisted sense of humor. Daichi blinked before gazing at Vexen aloofly.
"Even if I was a reflection of your flaws, you are quick to forget one minute detail," the replica clarified; such detail can defy all inquiries since they haven't updated to hold records of the present, "I am not the same obsolete you left behind...how ever you faded. I'm not like your other trial and errors, because I am standing here now and different from before, which have even taken you...by surprise"
Vexen was surprised at the change, a change that remained a secret from him. He would think he would know his replica inside and out, but with that one variable fluttering about it makes him an unknown all over again, a new equation. Judging a variable before even solving it would be a mistake on Vexen's part, and if he desired his reputation in his scienctific endeavor, he may realize the mistake within itself. The replica pulled all of that out of thin air, but it is true, and he wondered if he had baited Vexen enough to sway him. Then again using Vexen against Vexen seemed like the most reliable route.
