In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Left trigger controls the weapons, right changes speed, and I'll handle direction. Strap in, cause I belive in fancy flying. Halen, get in here!" The Heartless jumped up, and clambered into the third seat in the back. He slid the buckles over his shoulders, securing himself, as rose pressed the Xbox menu button. A disc tray on the panel closed, and a screen lit up. Actually, the whole friggin cockpit lit up, even as the lights themselves darkened. "You fire when I tell you. once we get started the ship will fly at a constant speed until I push forward or pull back on the left stick. The right stick will rotate the entire ship in space, but since we're aerial, then the turns are gonna be a little more difficult. If Halen vanishes, and a bar redlines in that screen," she added, pointing, "ignore it. He's boosting a system." With that rose pressed the a button. The ship went into an automatic dedocking manuaver, and sped out of the hangar. "Most importantly, don't hold back with those guns. We've got thousands of rounds, courtesy my homeworld." She jammed the left stick forward, and the ship shot ahead like a rocket. "Let's take out the little guys first!"

"30° to Stern, full power." Commander Rourke yelled as the ship fired off it's maneuvering thrusters and the nose started to dash to the right. The large Dark Predator came into view of the cockpits and the men inside felt intimidated by it's sheer size and devilish appearance. Rourke's eyes faintly grew larger for a brief moment. The only reaction of coming across an unknown but clearly dangerous enemy. The tail on the back curled up as the tip started to glow. Aiming at their sister ship lead by Lieutenant Sinclair. Whatever it was, it didn't felt right with the commander. Still, the distance was to great for the monster to lash out with it's tail.
He grabbed the microphone of the intercom and yelled in it. His authorizing voice sounding through the speakers. "All batteries, Fire at will!"
Immediately a rain of shots erupted from all the manned gun batteries speeding toward the body of the Dark Predator. Like a swarm of stinging needles the shots flew to the large dark mass of the Heartless Gargantuan. And they kept firing.
Rourke looked up at a tactical screen displaying various information and then yelled to one of the stations at the side. "Hangar control! I want birds up in there ASAP! Get to it!"

Twilight Town Mothership
She had never faced anything like that before and it terrified her. Audrey stood still for a few moments, staring at the creature in shock. This wasn't supposed to happen; Rourke hadn't said that they would randomly be attacked in space by giant mutant scorpions... right? Fortunately she was brought out of the stasis by the sudden appearance of a white dog, who had apparently also sensed the... dark feeling the enemy emitted. She turned her head to look at Bolt, her hand gently caressing his head before letting out a simple "Okay" and standing up once again. The latina quickly approached the intercom, fiddling with the channels for a while until reaching the desired frequency. "This is the Twilight Town, can anybody hear me? Over."
Silence.
Cursing under her breath the mechanic swiftly left the command deck, telling to come along with a simple motion of her hand. She ran, ignoring the people walking all around her; they were all heading for the mothership's hangar or the space turret rooms. Approaching her destination the young girl increased her speed, shouting as soon as the old woman was close enough to listen.
"Packard, I can't communicate with t-" She was cut mid-sentence by their communications expert, who apparently had already noticed this sudden inconvenience.
"I'm working on it, hun. It's going to take a while though."
"How long is "a while" exactly?" Placing a hand on her hip, the latina narrowed her eyes, ebon eyebrows knitting as he awaited a reply. Wilhelmina's answer would nealy make her faint of desperation.
"About fifteen, twenty minutes. Thirty minutes at worst."
Thirty minutes?! They did not have thirty minutes. She did not have thirty minutes. How the hell was she expected to organize an attack against the monster if she couldn't even use the intercom? Sighing, Audrey left the room; she might as well do something useful and head to engineering. The men down there could be brilliant workers, but without someone to coordinate their efforts they were completely and utterly lost.
"Come on Bolt!" she said, suddenly remembering the dog's little show at Twilight Town. Those lasers of his could actually help her in this situation...

Traverse Town Mothership
The alarm went off; they had a code red.
"You better go back to your ship, Saxen; you might be needed there. Jack, come on." Without waiting for a reply, the pyromancer darted off. He quickly ran away from the command deck, approaching the crowded hallways as he headed toward the mothership's hangar bay. It seemed like everyone was moving around, attempting to do something and participate in the upcoming battle; correction: in the ongoing battle. People keep whispering around, talking about how the Twilight Town mothership had been hit by a giant scorpion...
Seeing a narrow opening nearby he dashed away from the panicked mob, reaching his destination sooner than he had expected. Mikhail immediately identified his own ship, Elona's Remnant, which had received some upgrades in the past days. After all, the vessel deserved some reward for sticking with him for so many years. Hell, the ship's artificial intelligence, Eve, had been delighted with the news.
Normally he would have boarded his ship immediately, jumping out into space as soon as Jack stepped inside as well... that is, if he hadn't noticed they were one man short. Rutherford glanced around, looking for someone that looked capable; he would need help with the cannons, after all.
"Hey, blondie!" he called, approaching a girl that stood nearby. He could tell that she was confused by the situation; she clearly wasn't part of the original Ulysses crew and he hadn't seen her board the ship back at Traverse Town. Maybe she had come from the Radiant Garden or Twilight Town ships like Saxen? Anyway, with that monster out there she wouldn't be able to reach her ship safely.
"Yes, you. Could you lend me a hand with the cannons over here? It's not too hard." The man approached her, offering her an encouraging smile before motioning with a hand for her to follow him inside the ship. Jack was probably already in the ship, sitting in the co-pilot seat. "So, you got a name? Mine's Mikhail."
Space Around Motherships
With his back against the pilot's seat the pyromancer continued to fly away, attempting to get a better look of their enemy. Dozens of other small ships were out there by now and it was hard to tell who was on their side and who wasn't. However, it didn't take long for Mikhail to notice what everyone had been talking about back at the mothership: it was huge. What exactly was that thing?!
"Eve, protoccol diagnosis. Tell me everything you can about that creature." As soon as he began approaching the enemy, though, several vessels started to pop out of nowhere. Rutherford narrowed his eyes, staring at them until he noticed the emblem they carried. They couldn't be...
"Oh shit..." His fingers immediately moved, pressing several specific buttons to transmit a message to all nearby ships. Though the motherships probably wouldn't receive it, the small fighter ships probably would. "This is Mikhail Rutherford calling all nearby ships. We are facing a Heartless attack. I repeat, we are facing a Heartless attack. The small ones are just distractions, focus on taking big one."
He turned to his companions as soon as he finished speaking. "Are you ready?"
Mikhail would make his way toward the giant Heartless, confident that Jack and the girl would fire the lasers and cannons respectively at the rest that got in their way.
Meanwhile the Dark Predator successfully landed a hit on the Traverse Town mothership, but with a prize: he had not sensed the approaching Radiant Garden vessel that now started to fire at him. He was hit by most, if not all of the ship's shots; it was time to retreat for a while. Quickly dashing away from the Traverse Town ship, the Heartless collided with the Radiant Garden mothership before vanishing into the darkness... where it would hide until the second wave was over. Indeed, he was not alone.
"Huh?" Rutherford blinked, the Heartless suddenly swimming away and vanishing from sight. What the hell had just happened?! Suddenly, more of the smaller Heartless began to pop up around him.
Now the real fun began...
NOTE: I'm assuming the Radiant Garden shots are element-less. The Heartless that currently remain standing are: 19 Drillers, 16 Dragonflies, 16 Hunters (Type B) and 7 Reaper's Wheels. I'll leave their specific locations up to you. Have fun peeps: next round ends April 29th.

ABORD THE TRAVERSE TOWN MOTHERSHIP
So, that was it. Nobody answered. No problem, Shark would be boarding The Flying Shark alone. And so he did and, when the command arised, he set flight to the Space.
SPACE BETWEEN THE MOTHERSHIPS
That was... VASTE... HUGE... The Shark had thought about that already, during the trip and all, but now that he was immersed, and FIGHTING in the middle of space, he was quite astonnished... But quickly regained self-counscious thanks to an upcoming blast that his super-senses made him notice. Hell, he didn't know what to do, to be frank. So, he let his instincts took control, and managed to dodge. It was a Hunter, that shot his way trough, going straight to the Traverse Town mothership.
Well, Hell No that Axel was letting that heappen. He made - with some difficult - the Flying Shark do a 180 turn and chased the space heartless, shooting at him. The Shark carafully aimed his Blizzara Cannon and... BOOM. A big ice went trough, going afteer the Heartless... Chasing him... Wait, chasing? Those things could CHASE the opponent?
Not, but Blizzara is ice - Ice is Water in solid state. And The Shark could manipulate water. That's why he picked the Blizzara Cannon. And The Blizzara Shot went, chasing the heartless until he hits the target... Obviously the heartless could dodge but, if he did that, the shot would simply chase after him...
Then, the Hero looked arround, looking for new enemies. His primary objective was to defend the TT Mothership.

"I can learn" Ravian smiled, that sounded like something he would say. Rushing into a situation that could be potentially deadly, without even considering the consequences. He hadn't realized how much alike they were last time he had met her. But now he saw a slight resemblance in her thought process. This would be fun.
Thinking of consequences only slowed you down, it didn't stop them from happening and if you had enough time to think of a plan you had enough time to run away. So he simply ignored the little voice in his head that warned him about things, though sometimes he got it mixed up with his conscience and ended up ignoring both.
That said he was much more careful when his actions affected those he was friends with could be hurt by him. He lived for thrills, some would say he was an adrenaline junkie, Ravian simply though of himself as fun. Guilt, sadness, nostalgia, and even fear. He tried to avoid them. Whenever those emotions caught up with him he got knocked off his pedestal. Killing his high, reminding him that he was alone when it came down to it.
Ravian's face at this point would appear more somber than usual. His normal smile replaced with a slightly worried expression. He looked away from Nyra making sure no one saw this more serious side of his thinking, conversations never ended on a good note when he wasn't joking around.
Ravian hurried to the pilot's seat, he was confident in his flying even if it maybe a bit...unconventional. His ships speed made up for it anyways, maneuverable, fast. Like a jet a really, really fast jet.
He sat in his seat and hit the gas, they were leaving fast. Just like he liked it.
Space Around Motherships
Ravian started laughing as the ship hurtled through space. "I take it this uses some kind of lightning magic?" Ravian looked back confused, he had almost forgotten he had brought her alone. "oh,um..yeah..You'd be right. Don't worry to much about aiming. She's fast enough to get us pretty close to anything and then get us out" he said referring to the ship of course. As the heartless came into view Ravian felt his hair stand up as a twinge of fear chilled his spine, but quickly got over it. He aimed his ship to go directly by the monsters body. Planning to simply unleash a barrage along the creature's side.
But before he could even tell Nyra his plan the beast disappeared. Leaving behind even more of the small heartless. "It dissappeared! Well I guess theres just the little ones for now, read Nyra? " He said changing the ships heading to a small group of heartless, the tight turn noticably making him feel heavier. His blood rushed down two his feet as the G-forces took hold of him. Of course he loved that feeling, but he liked it more when it wore off and it felt like it took no effort to move. He leveled out of the turn and slowed down a little "I love this ship"
Rourke sat in his commander chair, tapping with his fingers on the arm rest. The lack of radio responses from both the other two main ships was worrying him. So far it only seemed to be radio trouble for both the Twilight Town and the Traverse Town still seemed in good shape. But the many hostile indications on the overhead radar screen did not gave him pause in leading the battle.
Upon his command, the Radiant Garden mothership started to maneuver itself alongside the Twilight Town ship. So that the ships gun turrets were capable of providing cover for it's sibling vessel. Through the intercom, Rourke handed out new orders to all the battery stations: "Attention, there are still smaller bogey's remaining. Check your targets before firing and use selective fire only. I don't want anyone hitting one of our ships out there."
Pressing a few buttons, Rourke switched from the intercom to the outer radio. Transmitting his voice throughout space for all other ships to hear: "Attention, this is commander Rourke. I want every available fighter gummi out there. Team up and stay together. Don't try to be a hero and take them on by yourself. We will do this together."
The Radiant Garden kept in close vicinity of the Twilight Town. Ready to rush to her aid and provide covering fire if some of the Heartless we're trying to assault her. And also deflecting and concentrating fire on all Heartless that would attack the Radiant Garden. But being careful not to hit the gummi ships out there engaging them in dogfights.
The great beast had been replaced with hordes of flying gummi Heartless. Of them all, it seemed the swarm of strange insect-like gummis were the less intimidating; Nyra nodded at Ravian, gritted her teeth, and took aim. She had attempted at least fifteen shots by the time the radio fizzed on, less then half of which she knew had actually hit. The little buggers were fast.
"Attention, this is commander Rourke. I want every available fighter gummi out there. Team up and stay together. Don't try to be a hero and take them on by yourself. We will do this together."
At the very least, it was reassuring to hear the commander's voice at a time like this.
Suddenly one of the larger heartless, the kind she had been avoiding with her shots for risk of antagonizing it and endangering Ravian's gummi ship, caught sight of them.
"Ravian! The wheel!"
The giant violet gummi wheel spun towards them. At this Nyra grabbed hold of two weapons (a thunder cannon and an asteroid laser), aiming as best as she could without spending the time to set the view through the crosshairs. She let loose a the magical flurry of projectiles. As soon as she noticed that the laser was taking greater effect than the cannon, however, she switched her full attention onto the latter weaponry, and once again focused upon the bulky Heartless.
"Don't bother trying to get around it, this thing doesn't look like it has any weak points. We just gotta take it down," Nyra called to Ravian, an obstinate edge rising in her tone.
(( Ravian's gummi is attacking Dragonflies initially, then a Reaper Wheel. ))
"Are you paying attention? Hello? Screw it!" Rose kicked a panel under the console, and full control was designated to her. She jammed the sticks, looping around a friendly, and firing at a heartless ship. "Halen, boost the weapons!" The Neoshadow nodded, and sank into a vent. One of the gauges redlined, and Rose fired again. "I hope this works!" she said, as dark orbs fired out of her cannons, at a ship with a... wheel?

Space Around Motherships
"Alright, change of plans. Grab the weapons and try to destroy as many of the little guys as you can. I'll keep the ship steady." Seriously he would happily be shooting down some of the Heartless, but unfortunately Mikhail was unable to pilot the ship AND actually land some hits on the enemy. He had to concentrate on either piloting or using the weapons. "The big one is surely hiding somewhere... waiting for the right moment to strike." His voice trailed off as he spoke, more to himself than to either people sitting beside him.
Rutherford pondered about this as the ship moved forward, toward a small group of Dragonflies. The big bad scorpion could be hiding practically anywhere and the Ulysses fleet certainly had no clue of his whereabouts. The small Gummi Heartless were nothing more than decoys, distractions to keep his prey occupied and vulnerable to a surprise attack; but, did they really had any choice besides attacking?
"Hold it. I'm going to try something on these guys." Sporting a wide grin across his face, Mikhail stared at the Heartless. The Elona's Remnant suddenly broke through the enemy ships, damaging a pair of them with its hard, sharp wings. The Gummi Ship soon turned around, aiming for a second strike at the group.
"Bingo." A lone heart floated around before being engulfed in darkness once again. The pentagon of Dragonflies that remained standing looked quite dizzy and disoriented. "It's your chance. Fire away!"
Near the Traverse Town Mothership a Hunter rapidly approached The Flying Shark, intending to claim the pilot's heart. The Heartless suddenly began to fire at the small ship and landed a couple of hits before a big, chunk of ice was launched at the creature. A simple dash to the right would have been enough but this Blizzara shot was not normal; it followed the Heartless around and eventually collided with its head, destroying it completely.
Meanwhile the Storm stumbled across a swarm of ten Dragonflies, taking no hesitation in firing a Thunder cannon and an Asteroid laser despite being outnumbered. The shooter was quite inexperienced, yes, but the laser's strength was enough to destroy two of the Gummi Heartless.
Unfortunately for both Ravian and Nyra, a Reaper's Wheel noticed the ship; it quickly moved toward them, intending to ram itself into the Storm. However, the Heartless was received with a combined barrage of shots and lasers and was thus stopped before it reached its target. The wheel unfortunately managed to swim away from the weapons' range before preparing itself to attack the ship once again. However, it wouldn't be able to fight much longer; the damage it had received had been too great to ignore.
The Black Hawk, on the other hand, had approached another Reaper's Wheel before immediately proceeding to fire at it. The Heartless was hit by all four orbs of darkness, yes, but only two of them had damaged it. The wheel quickly approached the Gummi Ship, changing its damage spots once again while planning to collide with the enemy ship. A pair of Hunters also took notice of the Black Hawk and they proceeded to fire at the ship instantly.
NOTE: The Heartless that currently remain standing are: 5 Dragonflies around Elona's Remnant, 8 Dragonflies and 1 Reaper's Wheel around the Storm, 2 Hunters (Type B) and 1 Reaper's Wheel around the Black Hawk, 19 Drillers, 13 Hunters (Type B) and 5 Reaper's Wheels. Next round ends May 15th (yes, this time I'm not waiting for anyone).
(OOC: well....I guess I'm behind....due to a couple of oversights.....so this is just for catching up. lol.)
(Location: Spirit of Dryden)
Max gritted his teeth, trying to hold the huge ball of water together as the Spirit of Dryden rocketed towards the Hunter Heartless gummis. It was moving too fast, and the black beasts didn't even have a chance to avoid it at all. It just slammed into them with such force that they were immediately blasted into pieces.
"Keep it going towards the big one, Screamer!" Max shouted out to the computer, still struggling to keep a hold on the water ball. When they got close enough to it, Max launched it with as much force as he could put behind it, sending it hurtling towards the Dark Predator at tremendous speeds.
As Screamer steadily slowed the ship back to more maneuverable speeds, Max stumbled forward back to his seat. The strain of having done that had hit him hard. He felt light headed, and his limbs felt like they were made of lead. However, he wasn't done yet. He wasn't unconscious yet, and so he was going to keep fighting until he blacked out.
"Screamer, give me back manual control," he said to the ship's AI as he reached out to grasp the ship controls. When he regained control of it, he could feel it moving as heh manipulated the control stick. He brought it back around to see the damage he'd done to the Dark Predator, but it was nowhere in sight. Max muttered a curse under his breath as he looked around at all the Heartless going after the gummi ships. In particular, he noticed one that looked like a giant wheel that was about to ram into one of the gummis, with two more of the strange heartless that he'd just destroyed joining it against its prey.
Max steered the Spirit of Dryden towards the two Hunters, leaving the Reaper's Wheel to the other gummi. He opened fire with his cannons at the both of them, aimed straight at their middle sections, which seemed to be the most vulnerable. His aim wasn't as good as he wanted to be, since his hands were shaking on the controls, but it should be good enough....

SpaceArround Motherships
Great. One shot, One Killed. Mothership safe, also. The Hero proceeded, looking on the enemies. Then, he saw a ship and a heartless battling - a Reaper's Wheel and "The Storm", or something like that. The Wheel was hurt, yes, but still was a danger to that ship's people. Maybe he could go Kamikaze or something like that.
The Flying Shark went foward, dodging anything that came in the way. He had an objective and would dash to it, ignoring anything else. When he arrived firing range, The Flying Shark shot a great array of Meteoroid Laser Blasts on that Reaper's Wheel. That wasn't going to do any damage, true, but the objective was to distract the Wheel, so "The Storm" could finish it without major problems.
He would goi and return, the time it was necessary, shooting his infinite Meteoroid Laser on that heartless, so Storm could finish. That done, he would dash to the space, and fire a Blizara Canon on the first heartless he encountered - once again, making the shot follow his enemy with his Water Morph Ability.
And... since whe have TWO Blizzara canons on The Flying Shark... Why not? The second shot was aimed in the bigger Heartless there, the one who started all the confusion. Ok, a shot like that would not do any REAL damage... but a damage is a damage.
If, by any chance, the Reaper's Wheel changed targets, stopping his attack at The Storm and coming against Shark, the first Blizara shot would be at him, to get rid of the problem once ans for all.
Saxen had almost dropped the controller that Rose had given him. He was feeling the pain of more changes. He closed his eyes and focused on trying to shut out the pain, but it was impossible. Then, he heard Rose yelling at him.
"Are you paying attention? Hello? Screw it!"
He wanted to respond, but he couldn't. He wanted to be in his own ship, fighting heartless, but that couldn't happen, either. Finally, the pain was really getting to his head and Saxen dropped the controller. He grabbed his head in his hands and gritted his teeth, doing everything he could to keep from crying or yelling. Suddenly, the pain intensified and Saxen couldn't help but let out a few grunts as bits of bone started growing through his skin. Within a few seconds, plates of bone covered his entire right arm and hand. The bone that had grown through his arm was covered in blood and some of it dripped onto the floor. Finally, the pain subsided and Saxen's mind was clear. He looked down at his arm and at the blood. "I'll clean that up when we get back," he said, fairly calm considering what had just happened. He picked up the controller and looked back at Rose. "So, left trigger was weapons, what was right?"

[*sigh* I've waited long enough for Ellie to post as Helga, and as there has been no post this entire time, I'm gonna move before I get left behind more in this thread]
Jebidiah "Cookie" Farnsworth "The Unusual Chef"

With no words coming from the Commander, Cookie just grumbled a bit to himself and started to walk back to the galley, again almost being trampled by people in the process.
Arlan Ashteran "The Lucky Swordsman"

With no luck in finding Rose or anyone who needed some help, Arlan finally reached the hanger and hopped into one of the extra ships that they had made for this. Another soldier hopped in as well and offered to pilot the ship. Arlan nodded, allowing it as he didn't have the best experience when it came to flying ships. Arlan quickly took control of the cannons and prepared to fire when they exitted the ship.
As they flew out into space, Arlan realized how dangerous this was. Several Heartless gummi ships flew about them as other ships were fighting them. Arlan felt out of place as others had ships that they could call their own. But Arlan still knew he needed to fight some way or another. "Just don't let anything hit us and we'll be okay." A soft laugh came from the pilot. "Don't worry. I do this all the time." said the pilot of his ship as Arlan took the controls for the cannons and started firing at the gummi heartless that surround the fleet.
Some drillers could be seen attacking some of the ships and thats what Arlan focused on first. As he fired the small guns, he pulled out a card and summoned Tilanis. Having him there comforted him and kept his arm steady as he fired the simple weapon. The pilot spoke up next. "If you pop open the top and press the yellow button, it helps to lock on a bit, highlighting what the missiles will hit. Fire the missile with the green button!" Arlan looked at his controls and popped the tops off of the controls.
"Oh hell yeah! Now that's what we needed!" He said as he pressed the yellow button. A box appeared in his target and he pressed the green button to fire a missle just before a driller got into the sight, hoping to hit the heartless and destroy it. "Now we're talking. Come on, man! Lets show these heartless who they are messing with. Luck's Fighter is here to stay." The pilot laughed, saying "Luck's Fighter, huh? Not my choice for a name, but you picked the ship. I just fly it." Arlan continued to fire on any heartless he could see.
[Yes, that means you can refer to my ship as Luck's Fighter. If there wasn't an option to fly a basic gummi ship, please let me know.]
Bolt "The Loyal Superdog"

As Bolt helped Audrey get up, he ran with her over to the Intercom and watched as she tried to communicate with the other ships. Unfortunately it didn't work... As she ran out the hall, a simple motion was made by her as she told Bolt to come with her. But even that wasn't needed as he immediately followed behind her, ready and waiting for the chance to find out what was happening.
As she spoke to the older woman from before about the problems that were made, Bolt whimpered slightly. The alarms that were blaring hurt his ears now as they kept going off. And all the people running around him made him fear getting stepped on. But he was loyal, and planned on sticking with Audrey as she ran back out and told Bolt to come once again. As like before, Bolt followed her to wherever it was that he was needed. If he could somehow help her out, then Bolt would feel accomplished.
Jason Arilani "The Wandering Nobody"

As Jason stood there, watching the fight that had gone on, the Lieutenant did not respond to what Jason had said. Likely she was assessing the situation, so Jason had to figure out what to do on his own. Disappearing within a dark portal, Jason appeared in one of the turret controls that was currently unoccupied. Unfortunately, it wasn't working either. The turret had been hit already by the heartless gummi ships and Jason knew he had to get it working. His staff appeared as he ran his hand down it. "That which is broken shall become as anew" With that said, the turret slowly started to restore to what it was once before. But Jason had other plans for it.
He quickly pressed his staff with the crystal ball on top to the controls and allowed it to fuse with it. "Alright... Time to see if this plan works." He ran his hand down the staff again, saying "The power of lightning at my command, strike down my foes!" As he pressed the buttons to fire, bullets were not shot from the turret. Instead, a continuous beam of lightning shot forth from the cannon, threatening to destroy the heartless gummi ships. But he only pressed the button when he was sure he wasn't in firing range of other ships, or only repeatedly pressing it to fire out short bursts of lightning so as to control it better. Hopefully this offered a fighting chance with yet another turret operational.
(Remember guys, quantity =/= quality and speed. Feel free to shorten your posts if it means you can pump them out faster.)
Storm Gummiship
Nyra breathed out in a short-lived triumph, watching the Wheel halt under the barrage of her shots and roll away. As it approached again she kept up the same tactics as before - after all, they worked the first time, and the Heartless was evidently slower than before. She jammed the buttons for the lazer and Thunder cannon as quick as she could aim and as much as the loading time would allow.
"We've almost got it. Swerve up!"
When she felt the shift in gravity, Nyra raced to one of the back guns and grabbed another of the Asteroid lasers. Forcing herself to slow, Nyra took the time to train the crosshairs as close as she was able to the beady, terrifying faces of the Heartless itself, and shot. Her hands were shaking, she knew. The wheel was just so close.
Too close for comfort. "Ravian, move!" she yelled at him, scrambling to the front of the ship despite the tilt in gravity. She hoped to hell the lazer had hit.

Swiftly the Heartless Hunters type B shot through the empty space. Moving unlike gummi ships in a more natural manner. Like fish swimming through the ocean they were in their element out here in the empty void. Both were escorting a Reaper wheel that was engaging the Black Hawk. Completely by surprise, the Spirit of Dryden appeared behind one of them and opened fire. Before it could even react, one of the Hunters was already destroyed while the other one had taken some lucky shots to. It steered away but in an erratically manner suggesting it to be wingshot. The desperate Hunter tried to escape but the impact of the bullets was to great and it met it's end with a small explosion.
The Reaper Wheel was to concentrated on the Black Hawk it didn't notice the disappearance of his escorts. And with it's wheel increasing in speed it continued chasing and closing in on the Black Hawk.
The exploding Hunters did caught the attention of another Reaper Wheel that was nearby. It diverted it's course and went after the Spirit of Dryden. Approaching it on an intercept course at ramming speed. The Reaper Wheel got flanked by 2 Hunters. Now Maxwel got the same configuration behind him as the Black Hawk did.
The Flying Shark and the Storm
With it's engines roaring violently the Flying Shark cleaved through the battlefield in search for it's next prey. Spotting the ominously Reaper Wheel that was gaining up on the Storm. It's jagged wheel with cutting blades was closing in on the engines of the Storm.
With a burst of it's engines, Axel dove down on the large Heartless and flanked it with a barrage of the Meteor laser. The Reaper Wheel lost it's bearing and the Storm could create some distance from it. Elegantly but sharply, the Flying Shark rose up and turned. To dive down again and deliver a second volley of the Meteor laser. The Reaper Wheel disappeared completely in the burst of explosions and for a moment it couldn't be seen.
Then it bursts out of the lingering cloud of the explosion and charged at the Storm. It had gone into a rage and it was now faster and also burning all over. The fiery menage gained up on the Storm but Nyra's last shot, by aligning the cross hairs perfectly, went straight through it's head causing it to be blown off from the rest of it's body. Headless the large Reaper Wheel continued on rolling aimlessly for a couple of seconds. The Dragonflies that followed in it's wake realized in time what has happened all broke off into different directions before the Reaper Wheel finally bursted apart in a big explosion
Against this background, the Shark had pursued another Heartless. 1 of the 8 Dragonflies that was also after the Storm. Like a homing missile it fired the Blizzaga rocket that chased one of the Dragonflies. It waited till the last moment to roll out of the way but had underestimated the Shark's hydromancery as the frozen chunk of ice steered off and pierced it completely.
The second Blizzaga rocket also followed another Dragonfly. It pulled off some crazy stunts and acrobatics trying to lose the chasing projectile but even this one couldn't outmaneuver it. Meeting it's end also.
Then something big appeared in the Flying Shark's rear view mirror. It was big, dangerous and it had a big grinding wheel in the middle. A fresh reaper wheel was now chasing the Flying Shark.
The remaining Dragonflies split up as 3 of them tried to intercept the Flying Shark. Forcing it to slow down so the Reaper Wheel could shred the streamlined gummi ship into scrap metal.
The other 3 Dragonflies continued chasing the Storm but quickly were joined by 2 Hunters as reinforcement.
Luck's Fighter
Jolting forth to our aid was Arlan controlling the cannons of the Luck's Fighter. A name he thought up with on the spot in agreement of bob the pilot. Immediately out of the hanger, they dove into a large group of the Heartless Drillers that were swaying closer to the main ships. Their drilling tips all aimed for the hulls of the motherships as they inched closer like jellyfish. Startled by the sudden fire of Luck's Fighter. The swarm dispersed into all directions.
A Driller got blasted away by a lucky shot and another met it's end by the rocket that Arlan fired. Still the numbers of the Drillers were still great and they were now clearly heading for the Radiant Garden and Twilight Town's motherships. Except for 5 of them. They started to surround the Luck's Fighter from all sides. The pilot cursed as he needed to pull off some fancy flying to not get hit.
Traverse Town Mothership
The ship build in Traverse Town and lead by Lieutenant Sinclair was keeping up the turret fire against the Heartless. But the Heartless were quick, small and nimble. Another one of the Reaper Wheels was building up speed and power for a kamikaze run against the fragile bridge of the ship. Being quite massive and carrying much momentum, the normal bullets of the turrets weren't enough to destroy or stop it in time. Then suddenly to everybody surprise, an continuous beam of lightning was fired out that dealt massive damage to the Reaper Wheel.
The beam was powerful enough to destroy it completely before it ever reaching the Traverse Town Mothership. Jason had just prevented a large hole in the side of the Mothership. And kept on firing to not give other Heartless a chance.
NOTE: The Heartless that currently remain standing are: 5 Dragonflies around Elona's Remnant 3 Dragonflies and 2 Hunters (Type B) around the Storm 1 Reaper's Wheel around the Black Hawk 3 Dragonflies and 1 Reaper Wheel behind the Flying Shark 1 Reaper Wheel and 2 Hunters (Type B) chasing the Spirit of Dryden 5 Drillers engaging Luck's Fighter 12 Drillers, 9 Hunters (Type B) and 2 Reaper's Wheels.
