In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

His hands plastered on the yoke of the Gummi Ship, Leiz bleakly looked out towards space, taking this moment to bluntly remind himself how empty and desolate it was. Why, for all that happened to be good, would nature decide on putting this vast sea of nothingness for residents of the Universe to traverse?
Particles had distances between them that were too small to see with the naked eye. Even larger than that, there wasn't much between two cells. Or tissues... organs. Larger? Plains, fields... basically an hour's time between cities on Belevadia by train. Oceans - even an ocean was smaller than this. Nothing was ever quite so vast and empty as the sea of the Aether.
But one thing made it so much easier to bear. A lingering, single thought of another male. A resplendent man, he would confess, who was in fact not a human at all, but one of the many heartless who were attempting to swallow the hearts of all with their infectious... darkness.
Seed.
Leiz looked admist the stars, still mulling over what could have possibly brought him to his knees. So much had changed in a day. Back then, he hated him. He detested him. He wanted to rip his head off for what he had done, even if he hardly knew him.
But the green-haired heartless made a gesture of kindness. He more than made up for it. He apologized in his own way. He was in a good mood, and said words - words that never actually meant much on their own, but meant everything when coupled by the look on the heartless's face. A look of sincerity that implied interest in how the person looked, rather than what they looked like. Gender ambiguity wasn't an underlying matter in this.
"You actually kind of look ... cool," he could hear Seed say over and over in his mind, occupying nearly every inch of his mental real estate. He bit his lower lip, sighing quietly, reliving that moment several times in a matter of a couple of minutes.
They had went their separate ways too fast and too soon. He wanted to see him again. He wanted to see his face. To hear his voice. To talk to him. For someone he still knew very little about, it was as if their hearts had connected in very much the same way that long-time friends had.
Was it love? Or was it lust? Was it an overwhelming admiration for what Seed had said to him on their previous encounter? Was he looking for an excuse to like someone?
His heart palpating rapidly with anticipation, Leiz clutched at his chest, feeling how intensely his heart pined for the heartless. It had been a long, long time since his heart spoke to him, or, inversely, he spoke to it. He wanted what it wanted. He wanted someone to love. He wanted Seed.
[/center] It had been too long. Too long since Seed connected to anyone on the basic levels of connectivity. The XII don't really count since Elaeus was the only one who Seed looked up to; like a teacher more than a friend. So Seed kept becoming more and more withdrawn from everyone around him, to the point of generally not even caring for himself anymore. Until a few days ago.
Leiz.
"I, erm... would think that we're supposed to get closer."[/i]
The emerald Heartless played that over and over in his head while he sat in the Realm of Darkness. It was one of the few remaining places Seed felt at peace. The swirling colors of black and purple dancing around to an inaudible music track. Seed peered through all the darkness to try and find Leiz but he couldn't for some reason. Maybe the Darkness didn't approve of one of its minions in a relationship.
"Come ON!" he screamed at the Dark abyss. He wanted to see Leiz again, he needed to see Lezi again. Having someone to talk to, hold on to, belong to. The Heartless didn't want to let it go to waste, he was dragged out of madness and it would kill him to fall back into it. He sighed and slammed his fists on the dark and it finally responded.
In front of him showed an image of a ship and the occupant was Leiz. He was clutching his chest sitting in front of the ship controls...it made Seed...frown. From the looks of things, Leiz was missing Seed as much as he was Leiz. Without thinking Seed walked through the portal.
The other side of the dark realm opened up behind the seat Leiz was in and Seed walked aboard the vessel. He looked around the interior but his attention was on the seat in front of him and opened his mouth to speak but nothing came to mind.
He nervously scratched the back of his head and a sheepish word came out
Eager to to see the heartless again, Leiz's gaze shifted from the main window, becoming fixated on the controls of the ship. Seed was all he could think about right now - he didn't even want to think about driving. Or waiting.
He almost didn't believe what he heard when that familiar voice rang out through the cockpit, eliciting a reflexive reaction of disregard. But wait. It sounded too real. Way too real to think it was just another voice in his head. The green-haired pilot turned around in his seat, peering around to see none other than the heartless from before standing in the very center of the room. His eyes softened, losing their hardened demeanor as Leiz instantly got up from the seat to come to neck-level with Seed.
The Belevadian stifled the quivering in his knees as he looked upon the male, trying not to come off as being too weak. Ultimately, that didn't matter. All felt right once again. "Seed! Haven't seen you for a little while. Um ... how have you been?"
Seed chuckled when he saw how quickly Leiz came up to him. The Heartless' assumptions where right; Leiz had been thinking off Seed alot. Seed tousled his boyfriends hair as he responded,
"Not much, the Dar...the people I work for kept me busy. Still missed you..." extensively Seed finished in his head. How he felt may be over the top for how little they actually knew each other but he didn't care. Being alone for so long can mess a person up.
He looked around the ship quickly and was rather impressed with the quality of it. Pretty impressive for such a young member of the military.
Seed returned his gaze back over to Leiz and just smiled. Being around him just made him feel better, without thinking much Seed grabbed Leiz and hugged him; holding him close. It was refreshing really, holding someone close enough to practically feel their heartbeat.
He let go of Leiz and his face turned red from realizing what he did...it was a little odd. He gave a nervous chuckle and asked to avoid awkwardness, "So...this your ship? Looks like its big enough for an entire battalion".[/s]

Leiz's world essentially stopped for a whole moment as he stood there in the heartless's embrace, hardly able to contemplate what was happening as the taller male's arms wrapped about him. He could feel their bodies touch. He could feel their hearts resonate .
The sensations stopped short however as Seed pulled away, leaving the two to stand face-to-face, but... closer than they would normally have. Before all of this, Leiz probably would've pulled a gun on him and fired. No reluctance, no question asked. But he couldn't do that now. Not to Seed.
Blushing at the male's awkward chuckling and sudden change of topic, Leiz gestured his hands around the cockpit of the ship as he gave a rather grand response. "Heh, yeah! This is mine. But, uh... definitely not that large. This is just a cargo freighter."
"... soon to be a moving residential complex," he muttered under his own breath, shaking his head as he reminded himself of the "baggage" that needed to be picked up in Twilight Town. It was an interesting group that he was traveling with, that was for sure. He couldn't imagine what it would be like if he happened to pick up more people along the way... the money or the convenience of easy maintenance was a strong selling point of carrying a crew around, but... again, it was a cargo freighter.
Leiz looked at the heartless softly, basking in his presence. "... so... yeah. Delivery. That's kind of what I do 'round the universe. Business has been slow, of course."
As Leiz spoke of his ship Seed rose to the top and sat down on the ceiling; spacial powers at their finest. He looked around the ship and saw it was pretty cramped, looked perfect for just one person and a few cargo to lug around the universe. Though he couldn't help but wonder if there would be room for one more. The emerald Heartless chuckled at this but stopped when Leiz said this ship was about to become home to more people.
"Oh, so you're not alone then? Does dropping off packages take more than one person?" the last bit said with a good deal of sarcasm. But just who was Leiz talking about? Friends? Other dogs of the military? Seed went to ask but Mydes words crept into his head.
"Aw, isn't that adorable, defending this... 'Leiz'. Say what you want, hun, but we both know that you're too far gone. Ordinary humans would need to be seriously screwed up to even like us. Hence... 'naughty'."
It was like Myde was standing right behind Seed, whispering those cold words into his ear. Why oh why was Seed thinking of Myde? That cold bastard did nothing but insult (and kinda compliment) Seed and threaten to take Leiz away.
"Just shut up..." Seed whispered to himself as he grabbed his head, it was beginning to hurt, and floated back down to the ship floor.
"So, will I get to meet these people"[/s]

"'course not! I've been doing it by myself for the past two years. You'd think one guy to take this upon himself is a big deal, but... not really. I only really deliver important stuff. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the people you work for needed something from my company."
Leiz chuckled, pocketing his hands away in two symmetrical slits in his windbreaker as he eyed Seed sitting on the ceiling. "But... no, I'm alone, asides from the group I've got traveling with me now--
"Just... shut up," the heartless muttered, descending down to the cockpit's floor, discernibly annoyed at something. It didn't seem like it was his own doing, but it certainly seemed out of place enough to warrant a worried response. Leiz was about to ask Seed about this, but didn't have enough time to formulate a question. Seed had already asked about the group, changing the topic yet again.
Running a hand through his hair, Leiz looked both ashamed and embarrassed, his eyes trailing off to the side. He seemed uncertain of himself. "I don't think that's such a good idea, hun -- erm... Seed. The girl that might be traveling with me is a psychopath. Who... really likes to kill heartless."
Seed chuckled at Lezi defending himself, making it out to be that he didn't need anyone to help him at all. It was kinda, cute. The emerald Heartless just smiled as Lezi went on but Mydes icy words echoed in his head once more,
;... I jest. What I'm trying to say is, hun, is that... for those who maraud in the darkness, reeling others in is all we know. I can see that look on your face. You eloped, didn't you? You actually don't care how much you stain him. How much you'll fuck him up.
The emerald Heartless growled in his head. Why were Mydes words clinging to him so hard? They were sticking around like a warning that something is wrong...something wouldn't go right.
"Kills Heartless you say?" Seed caught on to the last bit and was rather amused. Leiz was worried about him, about what may happen if this "girl" knew of Seed.
"I'm a big boy Leiz. I've played with bigger boys than myself and..." given normal situations what Seed said would have meant nothing but given the fact the man in front of him was his boyfriend, those words were given new, hidden, meaning. Seed just blushed and stuttered out.
"N-not like that...just...I've fought some insanely powerful people. I dont think one girl is going to be much trouble" [/s]

"That's not the main problem," Leiz argued, crossing his arms in a very stoic manner. He seemed rather certain of rather dire consequences coming about as a result of the quarrel that was sure to happen between Seed and the girl known as Helena. Ultimately, it wasn't just Seed he was worried about - it was his his ship. His crew. Moreover, a matter of principles.
The boy got ever closer to Seed, bringing their bodies within mere inches of each other. His heart - as it usually started to do around the heartless - yearned for closeness. He could not fight it. "I don't want anyone on the ship to fight over stupid subjective beliefs like 'he's a good guy' or 'he's a bad guy'. I don't want my ship getting torn apart because a girl decided to bring morals into this."
He extended his arms slowly, placing them around the taller male's hips, looking into his eyes with the most sincere look he had ever given. "Truth is ... I'm a soldier, Seed. I crave fighting... only when it's necessary. The one thing I don't condone is violence based on a common prejudice. So this ship is a neutral ground where everyone's free to be... individuals."
He paused, quivering as he spoke, somehow feeling weak in the knees. "... but even having said that, I don't trust them. They can't handle the responsibility of knowing you."
"... but even having said that, I don't trust them. They can't handle the responsibility of knowing you."
Though Seed didn't want to hear this, it made sense. Leiz was already on a job when he...met...him again so it wasn't his place to barge in and demand to stay. He knew Leiz wouldn't want to do that to Seed either.
"Oh...it's just...I" Seed pulled Leiz back into another embrace and his thoughts pushed out Mydes voice still ringing in his ear. He kept Leiz close to him as he spoke once more.
"I don't want to mess this up. Being alone for as long as I have...wasn't good. It messed me up in ways I hope you never find out." and truth be told Seed did not want to fall back into that. Insanity at its finest tore him apart and Leiz was at the right place when Seed got a grasp of himself back from the madness.

"... the feeling is mutual," he solemnly replied, finding himself nuzzling against Seed's chest as he reciprocated his embrace. Leiz looked back up at the heartless, his face hardly able to contain his anticipation. "I've been alone my entire life. When you said what you said back on Destiny Islands, I didn't think much of it at first. But then... I saw through it. I... know how you feel about me."
Leiz stopped talking for a moment, visibly shaking at the sheer excitement and thrill he got from being together with the heartless. Brushing a lock of green out of his face, he stared deeply into the other's eyes, trying to see as deeply as he could. "... no one else feels the same about me. I knew you admired me, but not because of that... you know... thing. You like me for -me- ... right? Not because I look like..."
The boy's words trailed off, becoming unable to put his jumbled thoughts together in a coherent manner. He hoped Seed understood what he was driving at.
You like me for -me- ... right? Not because I look like..."
Like what? Seed was lost to what the man meant. Like a...soldier? A...what? The Heartless was still confused.
"Like a what Leiz? You look like a person, a person who looked past this," Seed made a motion to his whole body. The emerald Heartless still felt an attraction towards Leiz that would seem unnatural to a normal Heartless who would care less about succumbing to their emotions.
"'sides. If he looks even as half as good as you, well..."
Seed clenched his teeth as the memory of what Myde said to him. It was bugging the Heartless more than he liked to admit and he didn't want to let Leiz see him like this.
"I'd take him in a heartbeat, too... only... I think I'd have his heart as well."
He clenched again and looked at Leiz, deep into his eyes and brought their faces closer and placed a kiss on Leizs lips. It lasted only a few seconds before Seed pulled back and stepped back as well.
"S-sorry...I...I need to go..." and with that Seed exited via a dark portal. Not the best way he wanted his first kiss with Leiz to go.
Leiz observed Seed attentively, noting a look of fervor in his face - most obviously that of anger. Something was bothering Seed, and Leiz wasn't quite sure what. The mystery of it all was bothering him as well.
But that mattered very little as Seed began to close in on the boy's face without warning. Time seemed to slow down for Leiz as his heart palpated - he knew what the heartless was doing. He knew what he wanted. And, as unusual as it was for him, Leiz wanted the exact same thing.
Turning dead silent, Leiz could do nothing but fall victim to the heartless's affections, locking lips with Seed for only the briefest - but longest - of moments. Seed eventually pulled away and took a step back without warning, ending it as soon as he had started it.
"S-sorry... I... I need to go," Seed remarked, a look of hurt prominent on his face. A dark portal had formed behind the green-haired heartless. Unable to even form a coherent sentence or words of protest, Leiz allowed Seed to vanish into the darkness once again, not even uttering so much as a stuttered vowel.
Confused at how he was feeling, Leiz looked down at the metal tiling of the cockpit's floor. He wanted more of this. He wanted to hold him tighter. Kiss him more deeply. ... love him, even.
That kiss was the shortest eternity he had ever experienced.
