In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Hunger? It's almost the same process when one is a human. It's a sort of drive us Heartless have. We consume more hearts, the result is more Heartless. It's sort of an instinct. The most time between meals..." Those yellow eyes glinted and his stomach growled audibly. "The harder the instinct is to control. Us Heartless, we get a kick out of consuming hearts as well. It's a sort of high that's difficult to replicate." The man stared at the boy inquisitively, wondering if he should go on. With a shrug, Braig decided that he would. It would better help the kid understand what kind of situation he was in.
"Humans are comprised of three elements. Those elements are the heart, the soul, and the body. Heartless seek the heart of humans, which, upon consumption, spawns more Heartless. The intial form of a Heartless usually depends on how vast their darkness was or even how strong their heart was. You may want to ask what happens to the body and soul left behind. In many cases, both are simply dead. There are special circumstances, however, which causes the body to spring to life. These beings formed are called Nobodies. In reality, they're actually our next door neighbors. Though I won't confess I'm the expert on Nobodies, I'm guessing that the guys who retained more humanoid forms were spawned by humans with certain features that allowed it. Almost all of those guys who run Nobody Incorporated over there are practically mirror images of the Dark XII."
Braig shrugged again and then asked, "That answer your question, kid? Oh yes, I almost forgot your former question. High places... as in on top of this building's roof."

Alias nods as he listened to the man, interested in the subject. When the man spoke of the roof, Alias smiled "Really? Would you take me there?" He asked softly smiling up at Braig.
He wondered why heartless would create more heartless, isn't that like making more competition? Or maybe they kill each other, and what happens when all the hearts were gone?
Alias then looked up at Braig and smiled softly as he let his violet eye look over the scar and patch as he waited for his friends response.

"You're not gonna fall off? Because if you do, it's a loooooooong way down." The Heartless came to stand. He was done with his apple by now, so he chucked it in the nearest trash can and propped open the nearest door for Alias. "Normally, I just use a Dark Corridor to get to the top, but I think you ought to appreciate the impressiveness."
We're already pretty high up to begin with, aren't we?
As Braig looked out the window, he realized that their height was already impressive. The world below seemed thousands of feet down. Of course, Braig wasn't at all afraid of heights. He controlled gravity, after all...

Alias smiled at Braig. "Not like it will matter if I do, I can just walk up the castle walls anyway... I've never really worried about falling..." He said softly looking at Braig and smiled at him. "It would probably be faster to just find a window and run up the castle, don't you think?" He asked Braig as the walked through a corridor.

"Run up the wall? I'm no vampire, kid. But I can definitely jump. Why... I'm a pro at that." The Heartless opened up the nearest window and waited for Alias to catch up. Once he did, Braig climbed out onto the ledge. He was joined by a group of three of his personal breed of Heartless--Psychotic Kitsunes. They crowded the ledge and stared at him lovingly, a challenging look in their eyes as if asking for a race. "A race, huh? You guys could never beat me to begin with."
And yet, the man could not resist.
The Demented Shot and his personal breed of Heartless jumped from ledge to ledge using their dominion over gravity. Braig was fast, indeed, but his Heartless were a worthy match of him. They rose far above the ground below, up to the towers which pierced the night sky. He found himself jumping from ledge to ledge so fast that he almost missed his favorite spot. The man paused for a moment, then took a great leap up to it.
The three Kitsunes were closely behind.
"Looks like I win, kids. Now, you control yourselves and be nice to Alias. I'll have to send you away if you do." The Kitsunes gathered closely around the Demented Shot before sitting down politely. Braig followed suite.

Alias jumped out the window, falling a short distance before he got his feet on the wall and stopped himself, and began running up the wall, letting the air fill his lungs as he ran, the air tasted like darkness, the world was full of it, but Alias didn't care, it was a refreshing change. As alias saw the fox-like creatures running with Braig he smiled, he stopped at the ledge that Braig was on and heard his question. "Yea...Amazing..." Alias said softly as he flipped onto the ledge and smiled at his friend, then looked at the creatures "Wow... so cute." Alias said with a bright smile at the creatures.

"My own personal breed. Psychotic Kitsunes, named after the fabled fox spirits. They're not too different from my fox form, kid. I'd show you, but I might just kill you if I did." Braig laughed playfully, knowing just how deadly he could be in his true form. "You know the saying, 'Crazy like a fox', right? Well, here's your living proof!" The man leaned back and his Heartless jumped on him playfully.
The moon looked the same as it always did. It made the Heartless wonder about the guys across the street, those fellows that were their opposites. Funny, how they all wanted hearts but didn't get along. Of course, beings close to darkness always were a bit greedy. They all wanted more.
Of course, the strongest would survive. It was a dog eat dog world out there...
Perhaps even a fox eat dog world...
Braig smirked at his suggestion and petted the Kitsunes as they gathered around him and nuzzled his face.

Alias smiled and gently reached down to pet one of the heartless. "You can turn into a fox? Sounds cute~" Alias said with a grin at Braig, he didn't care how deadly something was, he would always see things differently from other people, it was how he was raised, and now...he feared he was the only one with his outlook, since his world was most likely gone. He face showed a more solemn expression, as he sat beside Braig and looked up at the moon, and gently touched his pendant, listening to the stars, gently closing his eyes.

Well, Alias certainly wasn't scared of the Heartless. Braig wasn't really sure why, to be quite truthful. He was second only to Ansem. His powers weren't to be taken lightly. Hell, his Heartless form had the potential to outright just kill the enemy! But still. Alias did not seem to be afraid of Braig or his Heartless subordinates.
That's guts if I've ever seen them.
"Say, Alias... I like ya, kid. How 'bout I take you hunting one of these days? You'd have to stay a bit far away from me, but I figure a brave guy like you would be able to watch me work. Whaddaya say... Traverse Town, Third District? I'll come and get you whenever it's time." Those creepy yellow eyes turned to Alias. He gave the boy his trademark snarky grin.

Alias smiled at Braig. "Sounds like fun, maybe I could even help you get some hearts?" He said with a smile. "That is what your guys are after, right?" He asked softly, gently holding the heartless he was petting, gently stroking down it's back.
"I'll go there, and I'll be waiting for you" He said with a smile at Braig, standing up and setting the heartless down on it's feet. He then smiled at Braig and said "Maybe I'll get to pet you too." He said with his kind smile.
