In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

>w>....I'd say I'm sorta stoked for all this, don't really care for what others say, when you think about it, Sora and Riku went through so much more than Terra, Aqua, and Ven, so I think it's only fair that they get this "In Dream" Mastery Exam, where the Dream Eaters "Eating dreams" ability comes into play cause the Heartless and other enemies are nothing but dreams, sorta....yeah that's all I got.

I think that the Dream Eaters on their side are the ones that eat nightmares... and the ones they are fighting against are the ones eating dreams and causing nightmares. *nodnod*
"ones that eat dreams and plant nightmares" and & "ones that eat nightmares"
Edit: Just watched the trailer video. It does appear that Sora and Riku are, for some dumb reason, their younger selves with new clothing. How this makes sense is far beyond me. I'm starting to worry that Nomura has a Peter Pan Complex with these two, as he doesn't want to seem to let them grow up yet.
The very last scene was the best, IMO. Forget that kid from that other Square Enix game I never even heard about, the fact that Master Xehanort (or his Keyblade, if nothing else) shows up makes me more excited than anything else I saw in the entire trailer.
Heh heh, because he knows as well as I do that if they grow up, one of them has to die. Mwhahaaaaa *cough cough*. Anyways...I suppose I can imagine them seeing themselves in their younger state in their mind's eye. And I suppose their clothes might reflect something on the subconscious level. BUT...
I don't like that X on Sora's shirt. It bothers me.
Up until now, I felt that all the outfits were carefully chosen to reflect the character's growth, status, and personality. I get that the X is somehow connected to the Keyblade Master business, perhaps acting as foreshadowing (it's a running theme in the Birth people's outfits), but the image just…doesn’t gel with me.
I don’t like that there’s an X over Sora’s chest, when Sora is so open-hearted and freely gives his love to his friends. Symbolically, it’s ugly. Visually, it's distracting. Aryn does not approve.
Other than that...yay Kingdom Hearts game (that isn't about Kingdom Hearts)!
P.S. WTF is with these titles? I didn't think it could get worse than Birth By Napping. I mean Sleep by Birth. I mean...Drop the...Distance Dream...

The titles seem a bit symbolic to me, and that's why they're awful to look at xD
Chain of Memories: More obvious. This one's about the chain of memories Namine tampered with and everything that goes with that.
358/2 Days: How many days Roxas was alive/2 people, Roxas and Xion.
Birth by Sleep: *spoiler, I guess* Okay, so, Ven got tossed into the Chamber of Repose and his heart attached itself to Sora as his body pretty much slept. Therefore, with his heart with Sora's, born were the components necessary for KH to even take place, disregarding the whole Terra chose Riku thing for now.
Coded: *spoiler, I guess* This is pretty much pointing to the data encoded into Sora. Again, a bit more obvious.
Dream Drop Distance: This one... is gonna be a bit hard to figure out since I haven't played it. The distance you drop in your dreams? Maybe Sora and Riku aren't aware they're dreaming at first. Maybe they're diving deeper into their hearts to unlock whatever power there is hidden within. Whatever it is, I'm thinking it's probably on the same symbolic level as BbS.

I know what the titles refer to. But a reference is different from a symbol. Titles themselves can't really be classified as symbols, unless you want to call each letter a symbol. In this case, the titles are, in fact, English, so there's not much decoding there.
I know this sounds nit-picky, but there are so many options for titles that sum up the stories in a memorable, powerful way and these titles are just...not it.
Chain of Memories is a good title though. It conjures an interesting image, sums up the theme of the game, and has dreamy connotations. Birth By Sleep makes me think of a woman giving birth while she's sleeping...
