In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

WTF happened to Riku's hair? I couldn't play the trailor with sound, so I didn't hear if they explained the hair or not, so if someone could explain Riku's hair then I would be happy.

It's clearly carrying different angles than KH1 Riku and much shorter than KH2's. It IS a brand new hairstyle. Let us all remember that for over a year, Riku was on his own, working to ensure that the Heartless did not return, Ansem was kept at bay, and Sora was left in peace while Namine worked. He didn't really have time for a conventional haircut. I'm sure that he may have gotten used to it (and all it's inherent sexy), but life on back in society on Destiny Islands would have likely led him to a more up-to-date 'do. I'm sure his clothing style change is much the same.
Sora got his makeover. Riku's was not much of one. Same color palette/placements, his shirt was just split into a vest/sleeveless combo. He was due for an update.
I'm not too fond of it myself. What I was really not looking forward to, though, was how young the two of them looked in all of these promo images and trailers. After all they've gone through in KHI and II, a younger look was definitely not something I wanted to see. But this new trailer made me think that it's a game mechanic, likely something relating to the dream world.
Or maybe they're just modeled to suit the 3DS platform. -shrug-
I'm curious to see them for KHIII.

OKay....but the fact that in the end of KH Recoded, his hair was very long, and now it shows them in the beginning of the trailor in the same position, holding the bottle that Mickey sent and Riku has short hair. They don't match up.

Congratulations. You are still vastly over-analyzing the matter.
A) They talked about the message more than once.
B) The redesign wasn't done by the time the last trailer was created.
C) It WAS done and they continued to keep it a secret.
D) The new hairdo has been retroactively added into the scene and is the new canon.
Why the time and date of Riku's hairdo is of such concern is beyond me, but any of the above-listed options will fill in for an answer. Honestly, take your pick.

From what I can recall, I'm pretty sure they do discuss the message at least twice before going to Yen Sid, but then I can't remember what I had for breakfast today XD
I'm just gonna go with option C) right here and now since Nomura has been a favorite of that option since Kingdom Hearts' conception >.>
Just throwing in my 2 cents again *grumble* ...blasted developers... *grumble* ;D
Maybe they're dream forms to match the dream world that they enter. If you were to overanalyse further, I suppose you could say that they're incarnate forms of the interpretation of a child's closer affinity to the act of dreaming. Also, a lot of things happened when Sora and Riku were children, before KHI (like the inheritance ceremony in KHBBS, for example) and maybe it's an allusion to delving into their past more as well? After all, it was said that more about how the Organisation came to be would be explained more in this game... I don't know. I'm overthinking as always ^^
We kinda know most of how the Organization came to be already, don't we? As long as we get to see a lot (A LOT) of pre-Nobody Orgmembers, I'm totally kosher with it, though.
Yeah. We did see quite of them as PRE-nobodies, but doesn't mean they can't come back. In the same way as Xehanort comes back.
But, The only Organization member I want to see come back is Axel. As Lea. On the good side. Cause that would be SO bad-ass.
But soramaster, he just cut his hair....It's not that hard to understand....and why in the world would they EXPLAIN riku's hair in the trailer? That would just be kinda dumb.
Riku: "I cut my hair yesterday because my mom told me to, because she thought it was too long. And I changed meh clothes because they revealed my belly button and my mother thought it was too revealing."

rofl! Apples you just made my day! ^_^
And I agree with the whole possibility of Org members coming back, I wouldn't mind seeing Axel again either! He was awesome and I hated the way they got rid of him in the game. Anyone else think that Kingdom Hearts is just one great tragedy? Out of all the games only, like, one of them has had a decent/happy ending T-T
Being full of tragedy, it makes the characters that much more likeable. It makes the story that much better. The greatest part of Kingdom Hearts 1 was the ending, because it WASN'T happy. It was SAD. But it was so very telling of who Sora was that he wouldn't just write Riku off and head home to be with Kairi. What made the entire ending was that Sora took that sad road because he had a friend to save.
358/2 Days was sad. But it was because of that sadness that you saw the character of Roxas full-swing from being just an angsty loser in KH2 and into someone who, despite having no heart, was full of emotion and loss. Someone who was willing to not only turn on his only other friend because he knew what right and wrong was now, but who would turn on an ENTIRE Organization who was likely stronger than he was, just because he wouldn't stand by and let them do this anymore.
BbS was just depressing. Terra loses his heart and becomes the monster who we fight in the rest of the games, Ventus slips into a coma because of his fractured heart, and Aqua, the strongest of the three of them, is lost for over a decade in the Realm of Darkness, hunted and wandering.
Thing is, it isn't just tragic. It's tragic with the purpose of storytelling. I have always said of the Kingdom Hearts endings, "They aren't what you want them to be. They are what they should and deserve to be."
