In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

I must say that everyone should be elgible for a keyblade. There could be "noobies" are better role-players than others. It makes sense for the staff members to choose the key wielders and disperse them by random choice. The chosen key wielder could make a request of which they perfe. Its' clear that keyblades chose their wielders no matter their preference of light and darkness, but by their strong hearts. Also for the choice of wielder would be better by role-playing, activity, and would be good canidates to trascend the plot. Anyone can post up a storm to get high numbers.
Question: Are the key wielders now are even present?
I think you've misunderstood what is being meant by 'n00b'. We don't mean the people who just join, but the people who...well....can't spell to save their life and make grammar mistakes in pretty much every sentence. They're usually the ones who like...beg for a keyblade even though they just joined.
And we already are having light and dark wielders, so nothing changed there. I'm just promoting the method that, I think, gives the staff the least amount of stress and allows only the people who deserve a keyblade to get one.

Ok I understand, the usual mary sue role-players who tarnished good rpg with their pestering and whinning when no means no. @.@ Yes, I see your point....>.< It's been a while since I was around n00bs who harrassed rpgs with rule breaking and feel they have special advantages.
x.x Just posting to say....I undestand....a low stress staff is a happier staff...
I can see that this is old, to a degree, but I would like to toss in my opinion.
I agree with the idea of staff members deciding upon who gets a Keyblade. But I haven't read through every post in this thread, so I don't know if a logical process was suggested to allow for that.
Like Velum says in the above post, the people who are literate and active have earned their spots as Keyblade wielders. (I'm new, so I'm just going off of what he says). However, I think more should be looked at than just that. I saw another post suggesting that more good deeds earns a "light" Keyblade, and the same goes for bad deeds and "Dark" Keyblades. I think this should be broken down more.
Instead of simply looking at good deeds and bad deeds, look at the character, and how the character is played. The first, most obvious thing to look at is to see if the character has a strong heart. This can be determined by how the character reacts in all sorts of different situations, thus factoring in to how active the RPer is. Next, there should be more insight into feelings; the display of emotion.
Riku was angry and then became overwhelmed in that anger. Coupled with the darkness spreading in his heart, he obtained a Dark Keyblade. Sora, being full of light and always strong of heart, obtained his Light Keyblade.
That's all my brain can come up with, for now...
Also, this would mean that the characters chosen would have to be prominent on the forum itself. Keyblade wielders were chosen because of the prominence of their hearts and actions-- In consequence, an RPer should be able to constantly draw attention to himself int he RP setting in order to be chosen.
I think the the easiest way to decide who gets a keyblade, is to appoint someone who the staff trusts to, upon request, evaluate the RP ability of the person, and then decide whether they are worth of a keyblade.
They could have the title of "The Keeper of the Keys" or something like that. It would cut down on the headache the staff has from n00blets and let someone just deal with handing out keyblades.
In my opinion, it's not only the character, but the posts using the character, and the member themself. I mean, yeah, good means good keyblade and bad means bad keyblade. But, obviously, an okay (meaning could use improvement) rper probably has a way to go before receiving a keyblade. But a good rper with many IC posts probably deserves one a bit more, like it has been said several times. And also, if the member is a jerk, they shouldn't have one, but if a member is nice, then they deserve one more. I think you get the point.
Another thing- There aren't supposed to be too many keyblades at once, So I think we're good for now. I mean, I want one too, but still.
'The Keyblade has been choosing many, many new wielders in order to build up the King’s armies.' < I think that's what the main plot thingy said. ;;>_>
Also, I agree with Rabi. Bad deeds do consitute dark Keyblades and good deeds constitute light Keyblades, in my opinion. That's simply because, to me, if a person does a number of good deeds then their heart is in the nature of good. Same with bad. But I think there's enough here for you staffers to base your selections upon.
Deeds, activity, posts, literacy, skill, character persona.
In my opinion, you should compare the history of a person to their character. I think a character who suffered a lot of loss in their childhood yet manages to smile dailly has a strong heart, thus deserving of a keyblade.
I agree with Cid, actually, that a trusted staff member should be chosen to pick keyblades. Observe players, and then just choose. Keybladers don't usually know they're going ot be keyblader wielders, as is proof with Sora. Unfortunately, I have not always agreed with Roxas' idea of plot on that, but the unfortunate bit is that I've no control over who has a keyblade and who does. It;s the plot that's been going on, and... well... can;t be changed.
Asking ot be a keyblader is, in my opinion, lame. Why? Because, again, not every keyblader knows who they'll be.
As for the issue between light and dark... um... yeah. I'm not even going to get into that. I'd give myself and everyone else headaches.
How do you tryout for a position like this? All it takes is a bit of common sense and mod approval. I think, rather than what we do for typical mod positions, we simply have the staff pick out someone they think will do the job without having people volunteer themselves.
