In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The sunset shone softly across the red and orange bricks of the small common area, the tram slowly winding its way along its track and picking up passengers. Above all of this, sitting with one leg crossed across the other on top of a tall building with a green roof and canvas awnings, was a woman with pale skin and blood red lips curved into a wicked smile. She smirked at the poor people who were completely unaware of her and her intentions. One of her two long, yellow tentacles slithered up to her, and she lovingly caressed it like a pet cat.
"Patience is a virtue..." she cooed. "Waiting and observing is key at this stage, lest all become for naught." It hissed, and she nodded her head. "Agreed. We shall begin immediately, but we must go slowly. Attracting unwanted attention may bring this down upon our heads."
With that, she raised a hand to the heavens and began to pour dark energy into the clouds delicately painting the sky above. As she fed them, the grew swelled and turned an angry purple in contrast to the orange light of the sunset.
"A storm is coming, little heroes... but can you stop it before the lightning strikes?"

Aidan sighed, leaning against a wall. It wasn't easy for him to get a job here. Perhaps the fact that his appearance was half-human and half-fox was the reason why nobody would hire him. He shook his head. Thinking like this wasn't going to get him a job. The red fox taranian probably just needed to try harder, that's all.
Looking up at the sky with a renewed determination, he started. The clouds seemed to be darkening. I didn't notice a storm coming. He thought to himself. There was something odd about it, too. He didn't like this one bit, it didn't seem like any ordinary storm, to him... but what else could it be? It didn't seem like anybody else was disturbed by this, so maybe it was normal? Perhaps he was overreacting, though he couldn't help but feel like this was the start of something terrible.

The Cloud of Darkness smirked as she saw the immediate effects of her newest scheme, but she shivered in anticipation at the thought of what was to come. Still, it was time to get things moving. People weren't acting as afraid as they should have been. Pain slithered forward, jagged mouth set into a cruel grin as it aimed for the clouds above.
"Fire on my command," she said, and her tentacular minion nodded. She waited for more people to have stopped to gawk at the unusual storm, and then cried out. "Now!"
Many spears of thunder danced their way into the clouds as Pain fired off its Lightning attack, and for a few moments, the clouds just seemed to become an angry, purple light show. Then, however, a bolt of lightning struck the ground below, and where it hit, a small yellow Heartless appeared.
"The first wave has arrived. Now we wait for the next stage of events..."
Post by wanderingknight on May 12, 2012 15:14:46 GMT -4
Aidan grinned at these new events. This world was much different than his own, but fighting Heartless was something that he'd done ever since he was thirteen, so at least it was an activity he was no stranger to. He drew his large sword and held it in his right paw, before examining the chaos. There were quite a few of the Yellow Operas, but he'd fought much worse.
He waded into the fray, slashing and using his sword to fight them off. Even when his attention was elsewhere, their attacks were very noisy, so he could always sense when and where they were attacking, though he did get hit by an electified tackle once. Still, overall it wasn't much of a fight, more like a workout at the gym, except you couldn't swing your sword around at the gym. In fact, it was so easy that he even got really stylish with his attacks, just to make the fight more challenging.
Why is it, that wherever I search, there's always heartless or nobodies in the way? Steve said in his mind. He wasn't frustated. Only fed up. Steve had simply been checking Twilight Town in the case Laura would have happened to come there, but yet again he only found heartless.
He was around hundred meters away from the group of heartless. He watched a foxboy beating them up for sometime, sighed, and moved his arm, so that the chain fell on his hand. Steve slowly walked closer the scuffle. The foxboy made stupid mistakes. Useless spins and too long slashes. Just like he would have had learned everything from a movie.
When he was close enough, Steve swinged his chain while leading plasma through the chain, making it straight, like a ridiculously long spear. The chain destroyd a heartless behind the foxboy with one hit. "Hey kid! This isn't play on a theater! Either start fighting with the proper way or leave you're still not hurt!"

"Ugh, but it's just too easy to defeat these things." Aidan groaned. Even so, he focused himself, quickly dispatching dozens of the yellow creatures with ease, revealing his remarkable skill with a sword, and with fighting. After clearing out a decent amount of them, he calmly walked towards the mysterious newcomer, taking out any Heartless that attacked. "So, who are you?" He asked, looking at him. The stranger seemed... different than most of the other humans here, stronger than the rest. He squinted in suspicion at the man, his large, sensitive ears continuing to listen for incoming attacks.
"Listen whoever you are, thanks for the coaching and all, but I know what I'm doing. I've been fighting Heartless ever since I was little." He replied flatly. "You're welcome to join if you want, but I think you should mind your own business, and stay out of mine." The taranian suggested, staring at him in minor annoyance.

The foxboy was so cocky that Steve almost wanted to hit him. Almost. If something can be done the easy way, it should be done the easy way. Any other might kill you. Well, everything was fine, so there was no reason to think about it too much.
"You should never turn a battle in to a game." Steve scolded. "But I guess it really doesn't matter, since you're unharmed, but I still think I stay here to give you a hand. Don't missunderstand, I'm not trying to interfere with you business; Simply trying to make sure thease creatures won't hurt the people here." He continued and slashed a few heartless that tried to come closer. "And since you asked my name: I'm Steve Fury"
Sorry, I'm going to leave for 5 days in few hours. Hope it's not too big delay for you!

Well, Fury, I think you might need to lighten up. They are just Yellow Operas, and not particularly deadly to those with fighting experience. No need to get all huffy about I fight something as simple as these things. If I felt I was in a real dangerous situation, I'd take it more seriously, but no use freaking out so much every time a Shadow pops up." Aidan said calmly, turning away. "But I guess we should help the townspeople get to safety." He decided, looking around.
He ran off to help out a group of townspeople getting attack, causing the Heartless to focus on him instead. Now that other people were in danger, his movements were calculating and careful as he fought the Heartless away from them.

Steve swinged his chain all around himself, defeating many enemies with every blow. The foxboy did have point; Thease heartless weren't strong. But if he would have fought seriously from the very begining, the people could have been spared from all danger. Well, no harm came to them, so it really doesn't matter. But the boy needs to learn to take heartless seriously. It might be too late, if he plays around next time.
The heartless were not much of an opponent. Everytime they tried to attack, Steve either pierce through them with his chain or change the direction of their ligthings with his powers. It wasn't long before every last one of them was destroyd. Steve sighed and looked at the sky. He stopped. Since when has that cloud been there? There was something strange about it.

After he and Fury eventually defeated the last of the Heartless, Aidan sheathed his sword and noticed Steve looking up. He followed his gaze until he saw what was so interesting. Strange, menacing purple clouds were swirling overhead. Okay, this can not be natural. Something is definitely up. The taranian thought as he observed them.
"I heard that Heartless are rare in this town, so why the sudden surge? You think maybe someone's behind all this?" he asked Steve in an attempt to analyze the current situation. For now, there didn't seem to be any other Heartless, but he kept on the lookout for more, just in case.

Steve nodded. "This kind of clouds do not appear naturally. If there's two weird things happening at the same time, it's very unlikely that they are just coincidence. I'm think this cloud is created by someone on the side of heartless." Steve scratched the back of his head and added: "There will propably appear more heartless soon. We shouldn't let our guard down in the case the next wave is stronger than the first one."

"Yeah, I know, something told me that this was too easy." Aidan replied, drawing out his sword. Now was not the time to be messing around. The real fight could be right around the corner. "Actually, you never know, it may have already started. "I'll get the townspeople into someplace safe," he suggested, keeping his guard up as he went to help them.
The people still stared at him funny as he escorted them to a sheltered building, but they seemed to be getting used to his appearance, after he had been living here for a short while. They were in a relatively safe building for now, so Aidan went back over to where Steve was, keeping an eye out for Heartless.
((So sorry to keep you, loves~ Hopefully, I can maintain momentum this time 'round, eh?))
The Cloud of Darkness smirked, her florid lips quirking up at the ends. Her plan, so far, was working. Two little heroes come to play a game. Hopefully they would provide some good sport before she did away with them. Floating gracefully down to the cobblestone street below, she stood on her tiptoes in midair before assuming a lounging position. Pain snaked its way up her side and into her hands, and she trained her gaze on it as she caressed it like one might fondly pet an animal. She then glanced back at the two Heartless dispatchers, and her eyes narrowed.
"This is no place for children playing hero," she said, still smirking. "Best to run along and tuck tail until the real heroes show up. We are something more powerful and ancient than these gnats you exterminate by the dozen." To show that she was not all talk, she flourished her arms and her cloak billowed out behind her. On either side of her, Pain and Suffering hiss and spat menacingly. Overhead, the storm of Darkness crackled and roared menacingly as well, as if any moment it might begin to strike with something more frightful than lightning.
"If you think you can hold your own against us, then we would be glad to test your mettle," she intoned. "But be forewarned, little boys who play with Darkness get themselves reduced to nothingness..."

((Sorry for the delay! I was waiting to see if the other would respond))
Stepping back, Aidan felt a shiver run down his spine. This unfamiliar person did not seem human to him. The way that she nonchalantly challenged them to a fight made him hesitate, thinking about what he should do. There must be some reason for her to be so confident. Perhaps she really was as powerful as she claimed to be. If so, then fighting her would probably be a bad idea, and he wasn't exactly sure he wanted to find out how strong she really was. However, it seemed that she was the one who called the Heartless. If he didn't do something, who knows what this person would do?
Well, maybe it wouldn't hurt to at least gauge her strength, could it? Perhaps this were all a bluff. Probably not, but it was worth a try, at the very least. Narrowing his eyes and flicking his tail, he met her gaze. "You claim to be powerful. Let's see how much." At this, he rushed towards the stranger and swung his large sword.

Yeah, perfect. Steve went to one of the most peacefullest places he know and first encountered a bunch of heartless and now some kind of arrogant monster. Why can't there be even one place where nothing would ever happen? Or rather, why can't such a place be somewhere where I know how to get to
He charged plasma in his hands, looking at the new opponent, that was still blustering to the foxboy, completely ignoring Steve. Well, it means that the creature isn't aware of the coming attack.
Steve looked at the enemy and calculated the distances. He was pretty sure he would hit that arrogant thingy and that the bolt would continue to strike the two... things that seemed to have their own brains. His attack would then go in to the cloud, but Steve was unsure could it deal any damage on it. Well, it's worth of trying.
The fox rushed with his sword, and Steve launched a plasmatic current nearly half a second later. If he would have waited for any longer, the attack might have hit his ally as well
