In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The long had pointed north and her shift was done for the day. Fortunately she wasn’t responsible to check the cashier; without hesitation, the brunette made a bee-line towards the exit with a swing of her bag, jingles of her keys, and a sweet farewell. She bounced with a jog heading towards nowhere in particular; the world was small so Olette didn’t had to sit and choose where to go eventually she would end up somewhere.
Today her brown hair was bound up in a short ponytail, while her long dragon tails looped lowly from its bound bouncing near her ears. A beige boyish vest was unzipped loosely to show her orange undershirt; it wasn’t anything outlandish, but same old Olette in her neutral tones especially with the khaki capris. To her it wouldn’t matter if she dolled herself up; the guys around her didn’t look deeply into her, and the boys she hung around with would surely inquire her motives for looking so girly. Well Pence wouldn’t comment about it so blatantly to make her feel embarrassed unlike someone. The more she worked, the more she saw them less; she’d return home too tired to want to explore and roam until the sun died down. Every other day she would steal an hour or so from doing daily chores and catching up on sleep with her ‘outings’ like this one.
Her feet took her to the Station Plaza; instead of heading towards that station, she walked towards the edge of the Plaza to lavish in the view. The station sat atop a hill, so Olette could see the spotting of houses and markets and the glittering sun bouncing off the ocean. Her eyes stared at a particular white speck on the waves, a seabird. It made her wonder if the ocean ever ended. What was on the other side? Would there be more of Twilight Town or just a breaking end falling into the milky way of space, stars, and worlds. Her head lifted to watch a flock fly off; it tickled her how some people were envious of the fowl for their freedom. They could fly and take to the skies, but did the birds even feel the limitations? They could only fly so high, and how far they could fly would always be the same within the space of this world. Distance hardly meant anything when she knew there were a specific start, an end, and something beyond the horizon line.
Everyone here were caged birds even those who took flight. They were trapped by the confines of this world. Was it normal to feel this way? Maybe it was the price for having the curtain fall pouring reality on Olette’s virgin eyes. If she stayed ignorant, she wouldn’t feel this…this…restlessness, which blossomed to insecurity and questioning her own self-worth and purpose. Sora was called to roam and explore the worlds; he was called to adventure like a typical storybook hero’s quest
(Ugh, sorry for the very late reply. I think I figured out why it was so hard to write one for this: Cadence DOES NOT want to be in Twilight Town. It's hard to write a character in a place where, in your head and your history, they already hastily left. @.@)
This was either the best idea she ever had, or the worst. Either way, Cadence was grounded when her father caught up to her... when he realized she was gone… and he would… eventually.
Her flight was simple enough: wait till Daddy dearest locked himself up in his study looking into lord knows what, grab her bag, quickly pack it with whatever supplies she could stash in it, sneak out the front door and then just RUN. Alright, sure… so she really didn’t think this all the way through. She only thought up her plan up to the whole running part, but after that, what would she do? Get off world, she had told herself. But how? She really needed to find a way, and fast, or else her father…
No, she couldn’t go back to that.
All her life her father’s kept her locked away, like some endangered animal that needed to be protected from the world to ensure its continued survival. And she really didn’t know why he did it, refusing to let her go to public school, to let her go out and enter the Struggle matches with the other Twilight Town Kids, to let her have friends. She suspected he was afraid of something, but she didn’t know what, and after all, she was old enough to look after herself now. She’d be fine.
But she wouldn’t be so fine if he caught her. So she had to get out of there. And soon.
Sunset Terrace and home was far behind her when she stepped out into the Station Plaza. If she was to find a way off world it would be here, in the more busy part of Town. Some traveler of some sort had to be somewhere on market street. Maybe she could buy herself a ride...
That’s when she saw the other girl in the Plaza, overlooking the Town. She looked… kinda familiar. She knew faces of people, in passing, but not the people themselves. Perhaps she could help? Trotting up to her, bag of supplied slung over her shoulder and her parasol in hand, she called out to her.
“Excuse me,” Cadence said, “Do you, well, know where I can get a ride off world? One that’s nearby? I’m kinda in a hurry…”

Olette hummed curiously at the question. She doesn't remember the last time someone asked her that. She started, "You must be new here..."
Turning her head, her eyes observed a small fair lady, who looked as packed as she was ever going to be. Her brows quirked at the delicate parasol wondering HOW prepared this girl truly was to go world hopping, "because Twilight Town doesn't really have exports. You can say this world is kind of running the slow train in interacting with other worlds let alone knowing they exist."
"You'd have better luck if a world hopper dropped by and ask for a lift," Olette shrugged uncertainly," thaaaat's if you don't mind going on a ship to who-knows-where with who-knows-who."
The brunette's experience with the outside worlds were mighty slim; the detail of Kairi's kidnapping didn't make her less paranoid of the unwanted company that can be roaming about. "I do know you can take a train to the other side of Twilight Town, buuut that's not taking you as far as you'd like to go. There...was rumors of a mysterious train, an old fable, to bad that hadn't been spotted by eccentrics either. If there was a way to get out, it would be by something magically ominous."
Looking over the girl, Olette doubted she had seen her around, "How...long have you been here?"
Twisting her parasol in her hands, Cadence listened to the girl answer her question.
A small frown creased her lips. Though she used a few too many words to say it, Cadence eventually got the answer she sought. Simply put: no. The girl did not know any “quick” ways off world.
The rest she had to say interested Cadence little. The train to the other side of Town she already knew about. She lived in Sunset Terrace. And the Phantom Train? She knew of it since she was little, oft times watching for it from atop Sunset Hill, dreaming of catching it one day and letting it take her beyond Twilight Town’s borders…
The only thing that caught her attention – other than the answer to her question – was the girl’s assumption that she was new there. It made Cadence chuckle. She shook her head.
“How long have I been here? Well… Near all my life, really. I live in Sunset Terrace. Well… lived more like it.”
When she said that, she cast a furtive look over her shoulder, to the station, then off into the distance, in the direction of Sunset Terrace… and home. And her father. She wondered… did her find out yet? The mere thought made her antsy.
