In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

His head hurt. It really, really hurt. He could not remember if he knocked it on the ground or just fainted because of the darkness. It was a really unpleasant trip physiologically speaking, but it was the best trip psychologically speaking. He was so certain that what waited him beyond the void was nothing but death itself; to be able to feel pain again was indescribable!
When Yoru got up and watched his surroundings his head almost blew up from all information at the same time. He was alive, he was on a strange place, people were looking at him with curious eyes and all things had that characteristic orange hue. The sun (only one, for his surprise!) was at the horizon. It means night should soon fall: lucky! It almost made the boy inside him jump from satisfaction!
Led by that boy (that curious obstinate boy!), Yoru walked down the hard streets exploring that strange place. Questions like: "Why the ground is so hard? There is no earth in this place? And these... Things! People came in from them! Maybe... Houses? And the people wear strange clothes, though they seem so charming! And they are looking at me, maybe they know I'm not from here. Maybe it is common knowledge that people from my tribe...".
He them stopped. He still could not manage to link the information, but if he is alive than so is his father and all of the men of the tribe. They are probably in this weird place. What is this place anyway? He had so many things to do that he could do nothing. He was on a strange plaza, so to speak. People come, stare at him and go. Some other people behind some counters sometimes speaks with other people and give them objects. It was all so different, Yoru could not understand anything at all!
Time passed and he still stood there knowing not what to do. The sun did not move an inch, though. As night did not show up the tribe man became melancholic, almost sad. He felt lonely and with nowhere to go, nowhere to belong. No one talked to him as if he was some kind of animal, people just gaze at him. Tired of doing nothing he finally made up his mind. The boy stood up and, all of a sudden with all his might, shouted.
"WHERE AM I? CAN SOMEBODY, ANYBODY PLEASE, TALK TO ME?"
This was strangely out of character. Luxord found himself not just confused, but severely doubtful. It had been a long time now since his...reawakening, shall he say, and yet no "product recall" by Xemnas. It had been long enough, and Kingdom Hearts, or whatever the hell it was that brought him back into these pitiful, empty bones, wouldn't make an exception for Xemnas. The lingering sense of emptiness no longer bothered Luxord -- he remembered what it was like to feel and acted appropriately, as he always did. He remembered feeling betrayed, not worried.
A portal of darkness opened in Twilight Town, a place he did not often visit. Perhaps they had taken up refuge here, and simply could not find him yet. There had been no contact with the Organization, which was bitter sweet to say the least, but he was ready to get back to work. As the Gambler of Fate stepped out onto the rooftop, he peered over the warm, orange landscape below. It was the epitome of peaceful, so tranquil. Continuing to look far and wide, his eyes only met one humanoid body, which wasn't so far away.
Alone it stood, and Luxord followed suit. He watched it, and the longer he watched, the longer it just stood there. It wasn't for several minutes, right before Luxord was about to kick his own curiosity and hit the road, that the now identified boy screamed out. Luxord smirked. "Outsider. he heaved under his breath, barely audible to himself. He shook his head -- it was actually humorous, or, would be humorous to someone who could sense that sort of thing. His words were strangely poetic and relate able to his own predicament. Except, for Luxord, he was losing faith. The Gambler was losing faith.
He leaped, free falling to the ground until he summoned a rather large, floating card below him to break the fall. A moment later it had fulfilled its duty and gone, leaving Luxord about fifty feet away from the kid. Luxord's smirk continued on.
"A place called 'Twilight Town.' if you're waiting for a sunset you won't get one, my apologies. This world is eternally trapped in this exact time of day, but as you've probably already observed, the citizens keep going." he continued smirking, turning his back on the kid.
"If you have any ambition or prospects in whatever quest you have taken, my personal suggestion would be to leave." Perhaps he could use this kid for his own desires.
OOC: I hope you don't mind a canon appearance. Luxord can take him places, but expect to be used entirely as his pawn for the remainder of the thread.
OOC: Not at all! It was a great turn of events in the very beginning! I like it! It will probably work out, as Yoru's totally lost, but don't expect him to be easy to handle like nobodies. I'll try as hard to elaborate more my narration... Mine was just overwhelmed by yours, hahaha!
Yoru could feel the gazing and the small talk increase after he shouted in desperation. He felt void of emotion for people looked at him, but nobody dared to come to him and talk. That's why the man wearing a dark kind of clothing seemed like a hero to Yoru's eyes. He was in a lost for words, because the man inspired greatness and yet loneliness. He looked to the tribe man like he does not care much about life itself, he just live by the moment. Hedonist, some people would say (and even Yoru if he knew that word).
"No night? Great. Nonetheless can you tell me what exactly is this place you called 'Twilight Town'?"
Even though the boy had a lot more questions to ask, he was not planning on taking that much time from this kind man who lends him his time. Yoru never was a dependable person, he rarely need to lean on anybody to get moving on his life. He was just at a loss by now and that mysterious person gave him the strength to move on. It was not his spooky words, but his presence. He was just as strange as Yoru (he could not help noticing that he did not wear the same clothes as other people), he was like the tribe boy. He probably was not born in this place. That kind of similarities always push anyone further.
"My name is Yoru, pleased to meet you."
He said out of nowhere before the man could answer his question.
As he still could not see the kid, facing away from him, Luxord allowed himself to grin. He'd successfully caught his attention with words void of reason and was planning on using him to his full advantage. He owed the kid a little bit of truth.
"Twilight Town is a world, much like your own, which I presume has been eaten by the darkness or manifested into a place you no longer have the ability to identify. Being rather small in size, people find it calming and tranquil. But there isn't anything of interest here, unless you have unilaterally made the decision to linger here, taking part in silly childish games rather than helping those you've lost." his accent was more apparent the more he spoke, and absent-mindedly, Luxord began shuffling his deck in his hands.
"To be frank and simple, its a place you don't want to stay in very long." he smirked, turning around to face him again.
Making his way toward the kid, he listened for a name, which the boy decided was Yoru. Cleverly, he refrained from giving his own -- what the kid did or did not know was unbeknownst to the Gambler of Fate. Who the hell knew, he may have been playing games with Luxord just now.
"Salutations, Yoru." rather than offering a hand to shake, he simply played with his cards, eying the boy.
"Now, there must be something you want, huh kid? No sane person has such an outbreak out of mere frustration."
Now Yoru began to mistrust the man. His actions were strange, fine. But now he thinks they were too strange. It was obvious to Yoru that the cloaked man was not the type to do something with no prospects of rewards. But yet he could not hate the lonely man. He still thought his life was probably a sad one.
"World... I do not know what you are talking about, but my place certainly was not eaten by the darkness. I jumped in the 'darkness' by myself and my objective is just to get home."
There were many concepts and words in the man speech that was unknown to the tribe man, but he could get the grasp of it. Basically he is in another place completely different from his home. This "Twilight Town" has nothing to do. It certainly does not, Yoru childishly can say that, as there's no night here too.
He breathed tired and looked at his Rigonlay, the weapon without sheath was always at his right hand. It seems that in this peaceful place it would not be put to use. Good. Risking one life is never a good thing. Oh, but his thoughts deviated a little from the strange man, it is better not to stray much from this reality. Blinking quickly to force these thoughts out, the boy asked.
"Then you know how I can make it back to my..." He stammered. "... my... 'world'? Is there a direction I must follow?"
The poor man oblivious to the concept of the word "World" still thought he could walk his way back to the tribe.
Luxord nearly smiled at the boy, though as his eyes quickly darted to the boys hands as they fidgeted with his weapon, a more stern, wary look graced his sharp features. The blond haired Nobody continued to shuffle his cards though, seemingly unphased until the moment he actually brought it up. The kid apparently wasn't overly lost, considering it was a blade of decent rank -- at least, in Luxord's untrained eyes. "Had you been planning on using that? I daresay, it is quite neurotic and premature, but please, endeavor." his smirk was tempting enough as it was just a moment ago, and yes, he was still shuffling those damn cards, prepared. But now, Luxord was just egging the young, confused boy on to tempt his own fate against the Gambler.
And even if he could, Luxord wouldn't feel sorry.
"None of that. You're itinerary surely cannot consist of walking?" Luxord nearly rolled his eyes as the corner of his mouth tugged up into a small grin. "You're like an infant. Look, let's make a deal." As their conversation continued on, the consistency of the people around them began to settle, and soon enough it would just be the two of them. Standing. Luxord continued, choosing his words carefully as to keep the boy listening, waiting, as if he were creeping up on a rabbit.
"I've seemed to have misplaced something I cherish quite dearly. Now, if I've correctly narrowed down its location, it must be somewhere in this town. If you assist me in its relocation, I'll help you return to your home world." Luxord smiled a friendly-ish smile and tilted his head.
He turned his back away again at this moment, and with that began walking away. Being a man who was willing to take a risk here and there, he chanced that the boy was going to follow him. If not -- oh well. Luxord would simply search himself, though it would take some time out of his oh-so booked day. The thought of being busy was enough to make him grin and made him hope all the more that Xemnas and the rest of the fools would show up eventually.
OOC: You can play hard to get or simply follow him, it doesn't matter to me. Luxord will stick around if he says no, this is your thread. xD Do whatever you'd like to poor ole' Luxxy.
It became annoying as the man continued to speak. Most of his words were so strange that it bored the poor Yoru. He wondered if all of the men in this place used those mischievous words to bend others. This is why he ignored the commentary about his Rigonlay, he probably did not understand.
But he understood well enough the next phrasing. If he helped the strange man he would help him to come back to his village. What was his choices? To wander aimlessly through this stupid "Sunset Town" (was it?) wondering if he would ever see his son or Tomo again? It definitely doesn't sound like a good idea to him. "Lets play along. I got nothing to lose in this game.", he thought.
"As you wish. But can you tell me at least something for me to call you? I don't plan on calling you 'strange man' all the time."
Yoru followed the man carrying his Rigonlay, but not planning on using it. It is so tiring to carry it by hand... As the tribe man saw some people walking by (and staring) he thought that it would be good to dress properly. Their colored clothes are much better them his greenish ones anyway.
It became blaringly obvious that this Yoru wasn't understanding his more advanced vocabulary, which Luxord could understand. Besides, it wasn't often that someone was just screaming to the heavens to play the Gambler's game, so he figured he could tone it down to the best of his ability.
With a small grin and another riffle of the cards, Luxord acknowledged the fact that he had, again, called it right, and happily accepted his own congratulations to himself. He listened for Yoru's voice as it grew closer and closer, but he continued to walk, making his way into the Underground Concourse, which would, eventually, lead him to the Sunset Terrace. Or anywhere, because at this point, it didn't really matter to Luxord. In fact, his interest began to shift toward Yoru, which didn't surprise him. The Nobody stopped, letting the man catch up to him, and then carefully fell in step with Yoru.
"I am Luxord." he nearly cringed at how bare the sentence was, so rudimentary. But the man was clearly not the brightest, and again, Luxord let it slide. With a heave of a sigh, he look out over the concourse.
"Where did you say you were from, precisely?" His accent smooth like butter, his voice indicated that he hadn't caught the man's homeworld. Which was partially true -- he'd heard the name, but was unfamiliar. A few years ago that would have been strange, but more and more outsiders had been showing up from places that Luxord hadn't even remotely heard of in all of his extensive studying as Ruold.
OOC: Hahahahaha! That post made me laugh! Their relation is quite exquisite!
Yoru followed the man thought that maze called "Sunset Town". Yes, it was a maze. If the black clothed man ordered him to go back to that kind of plaza he would not know exactly were to go. Do not misunderstand for Yoru have a great sense of direction, but not in such landscape. He grew in the nature and so he would always make his way in a forest or an open field. Not to mention that the two suns from his world played quite a role when he needed to find himself.
When the man stopped and finally introduced himself as Luxord, Yoru did not believe it. Why he could not tell, but this mysterious figure do not seem to be the type to easily give information to anyone. He couldn't help but notice that this was the first information about himself that the blond man gave. Not that Yoru cared about it, however it just emphasizes that he should take care not to fall in a trap. When asked about his home world the man get lost in thoughts for what seemed to be a minute. When he snapped out of it he answered.
"I am from my tribe. Well... How can I put it... Just like here the night is quite rare, it appears only once from year to year, but unlike here there are two suns in the sky. It is completely different from here because this hard material that composes almost everything does not exists there. I came in here jumping into the hole of darkness."
His world do not have a name, or at least not one given by his tribe. To be precise Yoru know almost one percent of his world, so there is much unknown things and places to him (so that "hard material", the concrete, could exist there) Quite poor character; he does not even know his world and here he is playing as if he knew everything.
Like a rabbit, Luxord pricked his ears to listen to Yoru -- everything. His breathing, his pauses, his tone, and his words, of course. He wasn't always heeding others, but when he was, he really was. Pauses in people's words were often more important than the words themselves, but Yoru didn't appear to have any ulterior motives. he simply seemed lost, which was a pity. A quick background check couldn't have hurt. "Two suns? How intriguing." he said with very little emotion, though it was quite interesting.
However, the true pique of his interest lay in the end of the man's sentence. A black portal? Surely it was a portal summoned by a Nobody, but no dusk would do something of the sort. Surely there was a reason to why this man was sent here, and someone had to send him. Luxord's head slowly tilted once more, falling deep into thought. He found that he wasn't even looking for the Organization, and vice verse. They'd find him when the time was right, he was on his way to the Sunset Terrace right now.
"You must come from a very rural and natural place." the way this guy was talking about concrete like it was some delicacy, Luxord didn't even have to ask. Besides, he was dressed up in very traditional, tribal clothing. Luxord knew his past before Yoru had to tell him. "It really is a pity you are here and not in, say, Radiant Garden. That place is flourishing with flowers. The people there would have more answers for you than I can supply." There was an angle. There always is. Luxord simply didn't know what he'd use Yoru for yet.
OOC: Blech, not really sure what to say at this point. Feel free to take command of this thread. Bring up a little action, threaten Luxord with his life. xD I really don't care~ After all, it is yours, I don't mean to commandeer it. DO SOMETHING FUNNN~
The name Radiant Garden ringed a beautiful image on Yoru's head. A good place with lots of answers, everything the dark haired man wanted. But, strangely enough, he just stored it on a corner of his memory for he was not planning on using that information right now. Luxord seemed tired of him and not willing to give anymore answers. What was that thing he wanted, anyway?
"So, Luc... Lucsword... Luxord, I guess? What you wanted from me? There is some artifact I could find to you? I want to go back to my tribe, but it would be great to know more about these 'worlds' you say."
"Maybe a place that lives in the night really exists...!", wondered the child inside Yoru's mind. Luxord gave him an opportunity to discover things no one in his tribe could ever imagine! How great it would be to expand their knowledge about everything? The curious boy that always lived on him was eager to know more!
OOC: I'm sorry, I really can't make anything too daring or I would not follow Yoru's personality >_< Feel free to guide him or just get bored with him and leave, I'll bear the consequences.
His smile persisted, and he shuffled his cards. "The thing we're looking for is not an artifact, so much. Its a collection of colleagues." he chuckled -- he didn't really care if Yoru knew who they were. It wasn't like they were going to find them anyway, so he may as well know a little bit about Luxord. "The Organization XIII." Luxord continued on walking, trying to listen to Yoru, but failing. His mind was wandering, and he was thinking about the Organization, and what it was he wanted to look for. Hell, it would be far more than luck if he were to just run into them all, standing together and sipping tea. The more he thought about it, the more Luxord came to think that they would be separated still. Roxas was gone. Marluxia and Larxene? Not only did he never really find himself fond of either of them, but he'd bet the two renegades wouldn't rejoin anyway. Demyx was probably celebrating his separation, Axel was...well, Axel. That just left the originals and Saix, but Saix was surely with his beloved leader. Perhaps Xigbar had been the only member he felt a true companionship for. The others, they were all lusting for power. But Luxord wasn't. In fact, he wasn't sure what brought him to the Organization.
"These other worlds?" he tuned back in to the conversation, his words sounding distracted. The Gambler searched for the words to explain. It was like talking to a child, so innocent, so ignorant. He nearly felt sorry for the guy, thrown into a place -- literally, thrown -- that he knew nothing about. Yoru was simple, it was clear. But knowledge was quintessential to survival. They made another turn. The last turn until the opening up at the train station, and exited. As they met with the dimming sun once more, Luxord knew that he really wasn't very far from where he entered, but he'd closed that portal ages ago.
"All of them are very, very unique to one another. Some are more active, more exciting than this one. Most, actually. But, it is much more difficult to describe them through verbal description than to see them, understood? I' not going to waste my time, or yours, trying to tell you about each of them. The only information I could offer you is that going to see them wouldn't be a bad idea. You'll find answers with your travels, and eventually, you'll find your way to your tribe." Luxord was feeling rather generous with his words! Most he would say something rather educated and leave his victims hanging before either fighting them or deserting them. However, one could sympathize for Yoru, especially since Luxord was facing such a similar predicament.
"Yoru, what lures you to the night? Is it simply because of how seldom you see it, or do you find some comfort in the darkness? I suppose its a heavy question." he approached the ledge that overlooked the town. "You don't suppose you find the setting sun soothing? I find it quite relaxing." Well, he remembered it to be soothing and relaxing. Without much thought, the Gambler tossed the cards out in front of himself. They stopped and levitated, showing the thirteen faces of the Organization. Xion was not present. But, he pondered his question to Yoru. It was an answer he needed to find for himself.
"These are the 'artifacts' I've been searching for. As you've observed by our short walk, none of them are going to be taking refuge here." Why would they? Twilight Town had been nothing but a puppet world for Xemnas to groom Roxas in, nothing less.
OOC: Sorry for the length! I didn't mean for it to be so internal and thoughtful at first, it just sort of warped. I needed to do some altering with Luxord's motifs, considering he really doesn't have any.
OOC: Don't worry. It was quite inspiring! I really do not care about the length of the post, but about the content.
Yoru was supposed to look after other people? Organization XIII? It was a strange request, but the man couldn't help but sympathize with Luxord. He seemed so lost and, again, so lonely. His question about the night made the child inside him ponder about it. Why was he so attracted to the night sky? The rarity of the event is certainly not an fulfilling answer, because the rest of the tribe acts completely indifferent about it. It was indeed a heavy question, but still important to him. For some strange reason he felt like he should answer whatever he could to the lonely man.
"I think I feel attracted to the colors. The world changes completely depending on how much light reaches out to it. This town, for instance, pass an 'orange like' impression, if you know what I mean. In the darkness of the night everything seems so beautiful, passionate, lovely... Calm. I'm sorry if it does not make sense to you, because even to me it is still hard to understand, but I think it is just a small part of who I am."
Yoru looked straight to the setting sun. It is relaxing as Luxord said, but in a different way. To the night loving man the twilight only meant that the night should soon fall and that's about it. That is the origin of the twilight-happiness.
As soon as the blonde guy magically showed some faces on his card, Yoru began to memorize them as much as he could. He liked Luxord and felt indebted to his (awkward) kindness.
"I will help you as much as I can, Luxord. But why are you after them? Are they your friends? That is why you seem so lonely?"
He might seem foolish when he do not have any knowledge, but when he does, Yoru knows how to scratch where it itches. He was trying to use his apparent foolishness to get to know more about this Organization XIII man.
"I understand clearly." It was all he could manage to spit out -- Yoru made a decent point that he couldn't simply scoff off. Luxord was able to relate -- being in the Organization was a part of him. It was all he knew, all he'd ever known. Perhaps, the reason he wanted to get back to them so desperately was because he'd lost everything. He lost his life, his family, his house, his heart, his home, and the Organization. The only thing was that the Organization was the sole part of his existence he was able to retrieve -- without it, he was nothing. "Indeed, we all have things that we cherish and hold close to us." he grinned in understanding.
Not that he really knew it anymore. There was nothing left. No one left. He didn't even have his existence, because that, too, was problematic. The more Luxord thought into it, the more he realized that his life was pitiful at best. But alas, it didn't matter. Once he rejoined the Organization things would fall into place. For now, he stopped the morose thoughts of loneliness and tried to move on.
Apparently he wasn't, according to Yoru.
Why do I chase the past?
Luxord was at a loss for words. He'd processed it all moments before, but it was hard to put into sentences. Perhaps he was embarrassed. Nevertheless, he owed Yoru some sort of explanation. His eyes continually spun around the circle of members, never lingering on his own picture. In fact, with a flick of the wrist, he recalled his own picture. With another, Roxas' face flew toward him as well. The circle of faces evened itself out again. Xemnas was at the top, and the members numerically spun in a clockwise fashion. That left 11 people to find. Enough stalling.
"I suppose they're my friends. We...work together. Actually, worked, past tense. Whether or not the others have unilaterally decided to regroup, I don't know. But if I had to answer, I would say they are my friends." Luxord continued to keep his phrasing as simple as he could. They were the only friends he knew, or at least the only people he hadn't tried to kill or use, and even then there were exceptions. He small smile graced his rather sharp features.
"I give you my thanks, Yoru." Luxord didn't even know that he was actually beginning to like Yoru.
Yoru was surprised when he saw Luxord smiling. He could not tell why, but it seemed impossible to make this man show any kind of emotion, but his daring question disguised in innocence was enough! "This man certainly is a good person. Problematic, but good.", was his thoughts. At the same time he caught himself smiling for no reason. Maybe he was happy to meet Luxord. Not because the man helped him find himself, but because he could help him somehow. No wonder it is part of his code to help people he likes. It is a dark explanation: helping someone is not altruistic, but just a selfish action hunger for that enormous sense of well-being.
Yoru let the silence speak for a while for he did not know how to react. Luxord is an awkward person witch actions are completely unpredictable. After a while he got tired of thinking and just acted according to himself.
"I will find your friends, Luxord. I am sure they are lost just like you looking for one another, it will not be that hard. It is not wrong to use the past to chase the future... It is exactly what I always wanted to do, so it can't be bad."
Flashes of his last years passed through his mind. He always lived basing his actions on a fixed future, the future that would lead him to his death. He just struggled as hard as he could to avoid his doom, but it was meaningless. Well, not meaningless, as he is not dead but in another world making promises to an unknown man.
"Please, can you tell me how to travel between the worlds? And a way to contact you if I find anyone of this 'Organization'. Unless... You want to travel with me?"
