In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The area the doorway lead to was a larger place, a lot more spacious than the passages the two had been passing through to get there. This made Emi feel a bit more at ease, plus the water just happened to be a dripping pipe – nothing to be afraid of at all. However, what happened next gave her quite a fright.
”Ah!” She let out of a small scream as she saw the creatures appear out of nowhere. Even though there were only four of them, they still scared her a hell of a lot with their yellow eyes, twitchiness and mostly the sense of pure darkness that the emitted. Emi turned to run to the side of the room, away from the monsters. She had no intention of fighting them, nor any way of actually helping Abby fight them. Instead, she just crouched down by one of the walls hoping that they hadn’t seen her and that Abby could take care of them.
”Why did they have to show up..”[/i] Emi whispered to herself, her voice trembling, ”I hope Abby can handle them easily.. I really don’t want her to see me teleport or she might think I’m a freak and run away or try to hurt me or something..”
The creatures seemed to focus their attacks on Abby as each one lunged at her with their claws. Abby quickly knocked away the first one and started to back up as she swung at the others. The first three sank into the ground as they righted themselves, but the fourth got back up and ran up to Abby once more. Abby sliced it quickly with her sword before it could get too close, causing it to disappear in a burst of darkness. She looked around for the others, but they were still sneaking around in the floor. The dim light made it difficult to see them, but she was able to see two rise up around her, poised to attack. She swung her sword at one as she ran out of the way, knocking it into the sewer stream. The other one ran after her, leaping with claws outstretched.
Meanwhile, the third heartless had taken notice of the cowering girl and her fear. It rose out of the ground in front of her and twitched as its yellow eyes studied her, deciding if it should take a swipe at her.
She stared into the yellow eyes before her, shaking with fear. The Shadow just stood there, twitching like they always do. Maybe it didn’t want to hurt her. Maybe it just wanted an eyeful before running away. Or maybe it did just want to hurt her. Emi saw the creature getting ready to slash at her and just thinking about what happened last time one of these things hit her was enough to spark a reaction from her.
”Go away!” She cried, whilst kicking the monster in what one would assume was its face. Emi got up, and ran to another side of the room, away from the Shadow. Crouching down like before, still shaking with fear, the girl kept a sharp eye out for any Shadows trying to the jump on her. Emi was adamant on not using her power anywhere that Abby had a chance of seeing it. At least, not until she was sure what she’d think about it.
”That was way too close.. I don’t know what would’ve happened if that thing had touched me.. I don’t wanna get teleported off to some random world again.. I’m only just getting used to here.. I don’t want to have to leave..”
Abby heard the girl cry out, but she couldn't afford to look and see if she needed help. The shadow was on her tail and she needed to get rid of it fast. She quickly spun around just as the creature leaped at her again, swinging her sword at the shadow. Her blade sliced right through the creature, making it disappear into the darkness. She glanced over where the other one was, but it was no where to be seen. Hopefully, it had decided to retreat, but she stayed tense in case it was hiding in the shadows.
As she looked around, she noticed the fourth shadow squirming as it tried to get back up, and she saw the girl had moved to the other wall, a frightened look on her face. She guessed what happened and strode over to the shadow and stabbed it with her sword just as it managed to right itself, dispersing it into the darkness. With the final shadow gone, she allowed herself to relax a little and sheathed her sword with a sigh in relief. If only the fight back home had been this easy.
She walked over to the girl and offered her a hand. "You ok?"
She watched as the girl took care of all the Shadow’s by herself, and Abby seemed to do so with ease. Emi’s shivers died down as Abby walked over to her, enough for her to keep her hand steady as she took Abby’s outstretched hand and used it to pull her up. ”Yeah, I’m better now they’re all gone.”
Emi walked towards the centre of the room, whilst examining the area in a bit more detail than when they first walked in, as that was interrupted by the creatures. The open pipe was still dripping water and was beginning to annoy Emi, as it would any other person. Other than that and the canal-like feature running across two walls, there wasn’t really much to note about the room. The only way it looked as though they could get out was the way they came in due to the other exit being blocked off by a gate. The gate did catch her eye though as she wanted to see what was on the other side.
The gate was cold to the touch, but Emi didn’t care. She pressed her hands up against it and gave it a bit of a shake to see if it’d move but it appeared to be stuck. Looking through, she saw what appeared to be Sunset Terrace based off what she saw. The waterway and the tramline being the main giveaways. Just then, an idea came into her head. Hey, wanna explore out there?” She asked, pointing towards the gate.
After she helped her get up, Abby watched her inspect the room for a moment. She seemed to be curious about the place beyond the gated exit. Maybe that girl knew the area. When she suggested going to the area on the other side of the gate she arched and brow and said, "Sure, but I don't see how we can get there from here. Do you know another way?" The gate wouldn't budge and the sewage drain seemed like a less than ideal means of exit. Besides the there was a rusted grate over that. Even if they managed to remove it, it would be a tight and rather uncomfortable fit. No, there must be another way, and it probably wasn't here.
”I think..” A pause. Not a very long one. Long enough for Emi to rethink what she was about to do. Did she really want to do it? Would it be worth it? She would risk her new friend finding out just because she wanted a quick way out of the place they were in. Although, the place they were in wasn’t really a place she wanted to stay. It was rather horrible, and that awful dripping pipe kept getting on her nerves. ”..I do.”
She still wasn’t quite sure how she was going to do this, or if it’d even work. Getting to the other side of the gate without Abby knowing how she did it would be tough. I mean, if you’re suddenly moved from one place to another in an instant, you’re going to notice something’s up. Of course, she could just tell Abby what she was about to do and that would skip the entire process of hiding it, but she didn’t feel ready to tell her just yet. Maybe she would eventually. Only time will tell.
Since that option is definitely ruled out, Emi had no choice but to think of a way to teleport her and her friend without her friend knowing what actually happened. ”Ughh.. Why can’t I think of something.. There’s gotta be a way I can do this..”
Emi had been pondering over this for a minute or two before an idea actually came to her mind. And it was a very simple idea at that. What if she got Abby to close her eyes? As far as she knew, there was no weird sensation you feel when teleporting except noticing a sudden change in your location and surroundings. So if her eyes were closed, then she wouldn’t notice what happened, right? She was certain she was on to something with this. Only one way to find out.
”Come here and hold my hand, and close your eyes.” She sounded somewhat cheerful after thinking of this solution by herself. ”And don’t open them until I say so.”
The pause in the girl's answer caused Abby to perk a brow. This girl has been here in this area for only a few minutes, and yet she somehow figured out a way to get past that gate. She was curious as to what exactly she had come up with, since she saw no solution.
When she asked her to hold her hand and close her eyes, she instinctively hesitated. She barely knew this girl and wasn't sure if she should allow herself to take such a vulnerable position. Although this girl didn't seem dangerous, she was reluctant to go against what she was trained to never do. She was sure this person meant her no harm, but putting her trust in others, even just a little, has always been difficult for her to manage.
However, the cheery tone of the girl assured her that she had no dark intentions. She felt she could trust her, at the very least, to not to kill her while her eyes were closed. "Ok, but why?", she said as she, a bit hesitantly, reached out and took her hand. She did not yet close her eyes, still wanting to know what this girl was aiming to do. Sadly, this was the best she could do in terms of trust.
