In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

In an effort to get the site active again, I’ve come to the decision that not only does the site’s overall plot need to get moving forward, it needs updating.
Since I’ve joined WD 5+ years ago we’ve more or less been stuck in the KHII timeframe of events. While that was good when the RP first started, it’s not beneficial to us anymore now since games like Birth by Sleep, Days, and Dream Drop Distance have been released. The series is changing. The fandom has moved on, is more interested in more recent developments and the characters that come with them. And WD is just… stuck… in the past.
As such myself and others intend to get things moving again, to get things updated and more relevant to the current KH timeline.
Problem is we need help.
Thus I am opening up applications for people interested in helping with site plots and events. This is not a regular staff position, but rather my own personal team to help move things along, get the site active again, to develop future events and updating the site overall.
One in this position will be tasked with helping plan plots/events, help carry out plots/events, play the role of characters in an event/plot event if they currently do not have a rper, play the roles of NPCs/Heartless/[insert monster of the week here] in encounters and battles, and most importantly ne regularly active to help promote activity amongst other members.
How does one apply for this position?
Impress me.
I’m not asking for information in regards to experience and how many years you have RPed. I’m looking for ideas. Idea’s for plots and how you intend to carry them out. Events that we can hold in-character to bring up activity. And perhaps, most importantly, thoughts on how to incorporate aspects of the more recent games into the RP.
And this is not a “the best idea wins” sort of deal. I want to see your thought process. I want to see how you think.
There’s no word length, and there’s no deadline for these apps. There are as many positions open as there are for those who show promise and are willing to help.
Please PM all applications to me with the subject “Plot Whore Application”.
I think my main question regards Dream Drop Distance. Would this site be keeping its main plotline, Org. XIII vs. Dark XII, or considering some of those revelations in the prequal games and DDD (with the apprentices, for instance) would that change, or is that part of what needs to be figured out? I'm sure there are a few simple ways to keep it with XIII vs. XII, but I'm just wondering.
In the meantime, I'll think on things. I know it's been a long time since I've RPed, and I only just got back to this site not too long ago. Time to stretch the ol' imagination again. I might have a few ideas to throw together...

Weeee *flutters*
u.u I do recall some eons ago about these others game
BBS is easy to incorporate it's just "shiz"; with the situation Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are in...they aren't playable. The game is acknowledged; it's just their plot devices that affects the KH future timeline is cock blocked because we still have the Dark XII and Org XIII around, which is where we have the fork in the road of the current KH game series and WD.
DDD is...something else, because the horrid concept of time traveling, which in away brutally anal fawks some points. Unfortunately that situation is harder to embrace because it takes place in the WD era, and all the duckies that build up to that...we lack. Ansem and Xemnas isn't dead to cause some odd revival of antagonists; hell here they're not even fond of one another oddily enough; Sora and Riku haven't taken a test into the Dream Realm. Hell some worlds that should be in that realm...isn't.
Now there's been some plot from DDD like "ulterior motive of getting that keyblade of horrors" can be implemented, but others are harder to achieve.
So it comes down to Amelia's concern where I bump it even higher of "How much of the original plot with all of its hidden history and background plots are you willingly to change?" How much of the WD nature are you willingly to sacrifice? For example, when we revamp and reformed the plot we tried to make sense of everything and reasons, so it isn't slapstick and poor fanfiction quality (x.x as storytellers we refuse to make bullshit). I've stalked enough KH sites where Terra, Aqua, and Ventus came back for little to no reason...but maybe some help from Darkness...and the end.
So to attract KH fans there's the option of
a.) Remake this site so it's post DDD b.) keep it how it is and use plot devices that are...usable.
People are bound to get more of what they want with option a.) unfortunately some characters now will be highly altered or non-existing. Also I've mentioned this is a PM whether the reader cared to agree or not, but you won't be able to do more with this site then to have loose fun because you don't have the numbers to do so. You can have all the passion in the world, but if you don't have the time or enough people to do it without drying out because they are playing a lot of characters...the plot won't go anywhere.
Sooo far I'm thinking to 'save' WD is to have fresh young blood who have time to waste your middle and highschool students. That's where a bulk of us started here. Unfortunately I don't think SE appealed to that age group with KH because...the series has been going on for 10+ yrs. It's hard to appeal to a new age group so far behind in the storyline. Unfortunately what is in...is multi-fandom. The question is would you go that far to bring people here to keep this place afloat for you can have enough people (who knows where there rp lvl is at) to plot with.
I response to your question Amelia: it will not be the exact plot line per say, but an adaptation of it.
We will be attempting to keep WD's current plot line, bringing closer to the canon though through plot development. There are plans to eventually bring the two groups - the Dark XII and the Org XIII - together. "Recompleted" the characters as the series itself likes to put it. That way we condense the number of cannons right there.
Right now we're still figuring things out.
Also on the topic of a "reboot" for the site's plot, I HAVE mentioned it to the staff, and the staff before. I got a lot of shit from the previous staff and some members for it. Honestly I WANT to do a reboot. I think it's for the best. But I've had people who wanted to preserve what their characters done here.
Pretty much it's lose-lose whatever I try to do. =/

We-ell, I'm just going to throw this out there. Here is a bit of my dream for WD or any rp site.
Proposition: It is dangerous to depend on more than one character to make an improvised plot move.
Resolution: Take away the rigid structure of the plot and create a flexible one.
How? 1) With a small group of individuals devise a few key plot elements to be set in stone. For example: If the Key is inserted into the Lock, all of the Heartless will disappear. (this is just a random example I pulled out of my butt, but hopefully it conveys the idea). 2) Assign the task of making sure these set-in-stone elements are carried out to one or more individuals. Example: Whenever a character inserts the Key into the Lock, Admin Member (NAME) will write about how all the Heartless disappear.3) Allow characters to become "main" characters by merit alone. Example: Character (NONAME) finds the Key and decides to insert it into the Lock.
Proposition: Time and space is confusing. Also we have like a hundred boards for no reason.
Resolution: Designate any fixed time and place to ONE and only ONE plot-thread thread. There is no such thing as a "Closed" plot-thread. This way we keep our boards and they're relevant. Otherwise...why? Threads can literally be anywhere. Might as well pare it down to "Past" "Present" and "Future" if we're going to just have threads willy nilly.
Proposition: Battling takes forever and we all seem to have different ways of keeping track our powers/stats.
Resolution: Create a simple but standard battling system that allows for creativity but also allows for some degree of precision at least where HP and MP are concerned.
The most important thing though is to revise this plot to make it workable. We need to have precise information about the rules of our Worlds (the Heartless, the Nobodies, Keyblades, Time Travel, Kingdom Hearts itself etc.) but we CANNOT, repeat, we CANNOT depend on a pre-determined set of characters ESPECIALLY not 20+. We need to decide what sort of endings are POSSIBLE and let the characters figure out how to achieve or not achieve them.
If a small but dedicated team could answer the questions like, "What happens if you whack Kingdom Hearts with a stick?" then it allows characters to try it out for themselves and go on their own private adventures and build relationships and carry out goals etc.
Imagine if there was a board called Kingdom Hearts. But it was locked and you needed a password to get to it. And to get the password, you had to go to the Traverse Town board and find the secret passage, written in by staff, but no one SAID you had to go to Traverse Town, you just have to get lucky or hear a rumor from another character or something. And as long as you keep solving the puzzles and following clues you an keep going until you get the password! That character could do anything with it! Share it or keep it a secret! Visit Kingdom Hearts, but then what? Look at it? Poke it? Take pictures of it? Guard it? I dunno, I'm just imagining the possibilities of a flexible plot program, which depends on a few simple plot devices.
I kind of like Aryn's password-protected board idea. Flexibility, definitely. Maybe it's just me, but it's a little daunting, first coming into this forum. At first glance, it seems like the only way to get into the (site) plot is to RP with the right people. There doesn't really seem to be many "random" events or quests going on, which I think would raise activity... Even if it isn't part of the main quest, or a huge elaborate event, it gives people a general direction as opposed to wandering.
Shoot, I swear there was something else I wanted to ask, but I'm blanking right now.
I only joined like... hours ago, but, I think I have a possible idea. I kind of took Aryn007's idea as a bit of inspiration, but I see the site having 3 main stories or plots. One would be set in BBS time and beyond, the next be our current plot, and next a sort of revamped plot. someone would chose sort of which plot to be apart of and help shape it. That may help incorp. the plots of all the new KH games. Maybe?
A lot of good idea right there, Aryn. Personally I've been kicking around similar one's myself.
I for one have always been wanting to change up the battle system, make it more structured than just have some noob have their untouchable and unbeatable. Establish HP and MP and set skill sets. Unfortunately each time I suggested something to any staff I've worked with it's be shot down - a most notable person to shoot it down was Shun, who never posted, was never active, but came on to say "NO" to the idea.
I'm thinking of shaving down the number of open worlds we have - and as the main plot progresses more are opened up.
But now this is turning into a discussion thread and not a recruitment thread. :\

1.) Are there really "plans" to merge the Dark XII and Org XIII? I'm just wondering how many people are willingly to literally loose a character. Some writers are morbid enough to slay em off. 2.) u.u how many of us still have such characters that would be hindered by a reboot...hypothetically speaking? Some of the old farts crew either aren't active or had dropped such characters. Plus...some of us have such outdated poorly done profiles that makes us NOW go "DA FUQ IZ DAT SHEET" 3.) XD and such things always become chatty, but hey...you can see who can be good assets.
+++ As for the battling, xD that have always been a bloody issues even when we try to get together to do it over MSN. It's an odd thing, because people have different preference and want to be all narrative like...and write a ton of narrative when there's so little action to do in fairness and to avoid godmodding.
If you want to initiate a HP and MP, then it needs to start with the profiles. Not only would characters have to have powers for their age/experience, but an MP count...and probably an HP cost if you REALLY want to get that technical. There should be a cookie cutter one for all the known spells in KH and probably FF in regards to lvls, and people who like to be creative with powers can use such cookie cutter chart to align their character's skill-set and power lvl. Just saying HP and MP means a numerical system.
+++Worlds
I think a bulk of the pressure is "So many worlds...they all have to be active". -3- with that said I vote to hide: + Atlantis + Pridelands (gotta admit that time lapse was a dookie idea) + Olympus (...hadn't had a tournament in eons...because of powerplay peeps...plus I'm sure we want to figure out battling before greenlighting it in fullforce)
Yeah we're in full discussion mode now. Consider this thread hijacked!
1) I don't think we need to get rid of characters. They can exist and organize themselves if they want, we just won't depend on them plot-wise. I've never understood exactly what was going on with the Dark XII but if there is some consensus that heartless counterparts exist, then anyone who has one of these characters could theoretically keep it and feel free to pursue whatever dreams it wants to pursue.
2) Yeah, a reboot would probably screw up anyone dedicated to a particular plot line...which sucks and I agree we should probably find out exactly how many people would be affected by this.
Concerning Battle System, yes to what Ellie and Cadey are saying. Let's make it happen!
Concerning Worlds, I mean...the purpose of boards is just to separate topics. A thread itself can be literally anywhere and take place in any timeline. Theoretically, all non-plot rping could take place on one board. Think about that one for a hot second, haha...
Now, if we used the rule of one thread per space/time rule, multiple boards make sense, because there will be more than one location within each World. But these location topics should really only be created as needed. We could easily see a World board with only a single topic.
I think it all depends on how we want to use the space.
Post by Ellie who has 0% on Mar 22, 2013 10:33:51 GMT -4
We do have a board dedicated to "Any worlds we don't have listed and space simply because we don't have any major plot in mind for it" aka In, Out, and About so peeps can have space scenes in there and other worlds.
And what I'm getting from Aryn is "have a board for worlds in general" and for a general location have 1 thread". My only problem with that is...people manipulate time fairly well, they'll do their own thing, and post turns can easily drag it out depending on how many people get involved. One similar to that was the plot thread for Atlantis in Traverse Town, Radiant Garden, and Twilight Town. Now it was one time frame, and anyone of interest can join...but it lagged and randomly someone thought it would be sweet to simulate a heartless boss fight. Everyone was stuck to deal with it and eventually fled to merely move on. So there's pros and cons.
I can see that as an introductory thread to a new world with post rounds as funsies, and when people "leave" that thread they can wander about on their own with personal threads. I personally still like the option of making my own thread.
While, I may get some flak here for saying it...I think the reason for that particular problem is that we let in a lot of beginning rpers, who aren't really taking the time to be aware of what's going on around them. However, I think the Atlantis stuff was really not bad. The problems I observed were mainly due to the sheer volume of people involved. Logistically rps work better with 2-5 people, and I think most rps naturally gravitate towards that number anyway.
And hey, if someone wants to have a quiet one-on-one rp in a separate location...like say, two peeps are on a ship to Atlantis and they want to chat in their cabin, I'd say that makes perfect sense to create a thread for that. As long as anyone else who wants to use THAT cabin, uses the same thread.
I mean, you put 20 people in a room, they're gong to break off into smaller groups. That's how it works in real life. People go to different, smaller locations and occupy them. The Atlantis rp was a complex mission which depended on a lot of characters/people/events to make work. And again that problem of depending on a lot of people to keep something running smoothly.
I think the Atlantis thing COULD work. I think it was a GOOD idea, but it would have to be approached differently.
You know what...? Ok, I volunteer as tribute. I want to experiment and help put together an rp event thingy and see if my theories can work. If you give me some test subjects and some space on the boards, I would like to see if a fun rp can be made with simple elements.
I like Aryn's idea of one larger Plot thread... But I'm still working out the details and ramifications in my head. Let's try it, though. Aryn, I will volunteer to guinea-pig with you. =]
Regarding the need for all worlds to be "active" : I didnt' really ever get that sense here, but if we need to strip down worlds to feel we can properly advance, maybe that's what must be done...
Heck, maybe they get destroyed RP-wise / fed to the Dark Side?
1.) Are there really "plans" to merge the Dark XII and Org XIII? I'm just wondering how many people are willingly to literally loose a character. Some writers are morbid enough to slay em off.
I have already vouched my willingness to not be selfish and do whatever needs to be done (regarding Axel) if it means we give World Destiny the Jumper Cables of Life.
2.) u.u how many of us still have such characters that would be hindered by a reboot...hypothetically speaking? Some of the old farts crew either aren't active or had dropped such characters. Plus...some of us have such outdated poorly done profiles that makes us NOW go "DA FUQ IZ DAT SHEET"
Exactly this. How many of us have characters that would presently be yanked / changed? AKA: Who would directly feel the effects? A minimal number, for sure. This makes the present moment in time the perfect time to fix up / merge / what ever needs to happen story wise to get us up above par again.
I feel like I had more to say before the internet got fritz-y. >.>
Also FYI: I discovered today that I got digitally hacked (presently outside of World Destiny)... but I am wanting to let you know if anything get suspicious with me here (like obviously abnormal for me), I didn't go crazy. >.> Someone may be able to nab my info, not sure to what extent they've done damage, but I'm working to address it at the moment. But I wanted to make that statement and get that out there while I had time.

For the active worlds, it was a pressuring idea for staff to keep them all active. As for being devoured by Darkness, there's been a long extraneous debate whether a world is locked...or unlocked. To keep it short, by the ideas of the majority, most of the worlds are locked making the reality of danger...relatively low.
(Personally...still think they all should have unlocked or damaged keyholes due to our plot of KH warg... =3= just for we don't have to over-think and analyze small details of KH canons in regards to the keyholes)
So should we have a team of:
+ Testing out ideas, which would be valuable regardless of plot direction. PEEps: ARYn, ERAers
> Plot thread usage > Battle rps > I suppose little mini events
+ Plot Whores Alpha - job to think of how to incorporate previous games and incorporate plot device of future games. Just saying DDD and WD timeline -3- is...right after KH2. PEEps:
> BBS is acknowledged here. Those characters are just still unavailable. Aqua is trapped in a Realm no one knows she's in for over a decade; Terra is on the path of unknown return; Ventus is taking a nap in Oblivion...where the only person who can find him is Aqua. ..And Roxas is still roaming about so I don't see Ventus waking up anytime too soon...and we just lost our Roxas recently. > DDD would be harder to achieve but some plot elements can be snagged. I know some possible Xemnas candidates would've used it.
+ Plot Whores Beta - job to loosely construct an outline of the reboot; we can utilize some of WD hidden plots for some preserve and make this site more unique than other typical post DDD sites. (Actually how many of us WANT a reboot...wouldn't make sense to invest what the majority doesn't want...yet this can help WD a whole bunch) PEEps:
>As well as character list of who will be playable. >List how many characters/rpers would be affected by this reboot, which means all previous history never happened? Also...how many of us will have a problem with it?
== Now...back on some course of recruitment. I NEED TRIBUTES!
