that moment where "Oh how nice people want to save and help with the plot, but oh look at all of these profiles collecting dust."
u.u;; Sorry guys it's just a grind of gears to recruit plot whores to HELP WD when we're neglecting newcomers who can very well be apart of WD. You can't save something that barely have any people...because profiles aren't getting check. I'm not as active as I used to be...because Senior year is being rough.
So yeah...recruit some profile checkers por favor. Also for such position I'm targeting people who have been in WD for a while to understand what we're looking for, what to weed out, and how to help people improve.
I remember Era mentioning something about profiles. << >> IF she see this maybe she can reiterate.
The simple checks of profiles are
powers:
- We go by a logic of age/experience/training for power levels
- please avoid making ._. the best of the best and prodigies; it's more close to Mary-Sues than realism. Do prodigies exists? Yeah, but those peeps have issues >> << caused by the robbing of childhood.
personality:
- just make sure it isn't so contradictory...as if the writer is just plopping things in. Most of the time these are fine, but there's been iffy sketchy concepts before. Some things you can let slide because some people may be new and may not know how to make complex character...and I know we look back on our old characters...wanting to burn it. So give them some breathing space...that way if they play this character out seeing how they don't work well
they just learned through themselves.
description:
- just make sure they're not saying "have Riku's eyes, Sora's hair, Kairi's boobs, coat like the Organization" Make them write in their own words versus outsourcing to existing characters D: like lazeh bums.
The big tough fish is History, because it is for the following:
1.) Some people forget to take the KH timeline into consideration when working with a KH canon world and concepts.
ie: Nope D: you cannot live your entire life in Radiant Garden with rainbow and sunshines, because Maleficent at one point ruined it into Hallow Bastion making it inhabitable for...ANYONE.
ie: Nope you cannot just bask on the Islands 5ever without disruptions because...and big arse gnarly heartless devoured the hell out of it.
So main thing:
# If you're on a canon world...acknowledge the events that happened.
# Gummiships were non-existing before BBS because gummiblocks didn't exist until Young Xehanort start fawking sheet up in Radiant Garden.
2.) Some people like to make big stories and worked so close and upfront with it to NOT see the plot holes in it. I generally give them a chance to handle it; if they can't fix it in one go...I'll help them simplify it.
Some things you may have to let slide if it won't conflict against WD interactions, because it takes time for people to become better story-tellers. It can't all be fixed and learned in one profile go for newcomers. Also being overly critical can damage a newcomer's ambitions.
Now if you're a seasoned member and you're trying to make a complex story...I will give you constructive criticism and push you. That's just me trying to lift up the potential I see in others.
3.) Original Concepts or a twist with KH concepts
- It's hard to describe sits it on a situational basis depending on the writer's creativity in trying to be diverse and new. These will have your brain wondering "would it actually work and stand in the KH universe."
I've seen sentient of world's heart, nobody of a nobody, people with a heartless host within them, people with a linking connection with heartless, people who are partially heartless but not completely heartless.
If you need help you can hit up a staff, I do it all the time when my mind is boggled and I need clarity. << >> Also if I'm lurking and see something off you didn't detect << >> I'll send you a PM. >> << No one really likes to call a profile back that's been prematurely accepted.
4.) Sometimes history is either out of order, or doesn't clarify time and when.
D: I think that's generally it of typical profile viewing. The only wear and tear quality about it is the time going back and forth to fix up a profile. That can be dictated in how you manage it and how well the creator fixes a problem.
I tend to list all the problems at once for they know in advance of all the flaws and take time to fix them all...versus spend days fixing one thing...then wait for me to reply...then spend more days fixing another thing...then wait again for me to give you more.
So if you're up for it....POST. Also if you're new and think you're up to the challenge, which means you've easily passed through the profile system...then join in.
Seriously
I think likkle Zepho was pretty new here when she became a staff. Why? She was active, knew her shiz, and did idealistic work.
