In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Idiot!" Zephyr shrieked, rising from the ground in a rage. She threw her arm out towards the wolves and rounded on Zidane. "Can't you see I'm trying to make contact?"
She shook her head. Unbelievable. Was he blind? Was he thick? Didn't he see what she was trying to do? These wolves had just nearly had their hearts stolen and here he was traipsing up to them like they were the most docile creatures in the world. Everyone else seemed to understand just fine, so why did Zidane feel it necessary to stick his nose in where it didn't belong? Over some stupid potion? Zephyr trembled with fury. He had ruined it for her. Gripping the potion hard in her hand, she looked once at it and then at him, and then in an act of vehement defiance she smashed it on the ground.
It was over now. There was nothing more she could do. The female wolf had fled and the male wolf was ready to bolt at a moment's notice. There was too much stimuli going on around them, and with Zidane ready to shove in his unwanted protection and the woman's own animals approaching their side, there was no way Zephyr would be getting close to those wolves now.
The Aeristocrat sighed as she pulled on her jacket, shivering from the damp cold where it had laid in the snow. Her eyes stung with unshed tears. How unfair. She had been so close. So close to having another companion. She lifted her goggles from her eyes, casting the world once more into a hazy fog of blurred shapes and colors. If she was as stubborn as a mountainside, she still knew when she had truly lost.
"I'm going to the Synthesis Shop to warm up," she muttered, and stalked off.
At least smashing the potion made her feel a little bit better.

It happened quickly, a shout and a blur of movement. Amelia's eyes widened the moment she saw the wolf lunge for Zidane. She took a step forward, hand automatically tightening on her quarterstaff, but Jadis's wolves approached the other two in a submissive stance and she hung behind, remaining out of the way.
Then the sound of shattering glass. The potion that had once been held in the winged girl's hands smashed against the ground, the shimmering liquid inside leaking out all over the snow and staining it a phosphorescent green. The girl herself, finally pulling her jacket over her body, trudged off away from the scene, muttering something under her breath.
With a grimace on her face, Mia looked back to Zidane and the wolves. Well, this is just fantastic.
When the glass bottle hit the ground, shattering into a dozen sharp pieces, the wolves were undone.
Between the Heartless, Zephyr, Zidane, and Jadis' wolves, it was simply too much to handle and the line distinguishing fight and flight was dissolved. Raksha barked for her mate and in an instant, he was by her side. Together, they fled up the stairs and into the shadows and alleys of the district, in search of a place to hide and rest: Anywhere but this terrifying nightmare of demons, men, and magic.
