In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

There was an ever-so-small ting sound as the metal from her sword encountered one of the chains from his cloak. Luckily, however, that blade had missed anything vital. The warning had done what Sage wanted it to: it told him to back up. But who really takes those seriously, especially in a training session? This was about her ability to smite before smitten.
It was time for a few more curveballs.
The Nobody blinked away again, returning a handful of feet from his previous position, getting him pretty close to the wall, and he brought up a circle of towering flames around the small female. Of course, once the ring of flames had severed her vision of him, he moved to a new location outside the firewall. He wouldn't have her jumping out of the flames to attack him from where she last saw him...
...So how would she handle this? He was interested to see.

There was a sound of metal hitting metal, the source unknown to Sage. Her katana had most likely hit his chakrams as he held them up to block at the last second. This must mean he had stumbled somehow. But the flames also meant he was gaining some time to recompose himself. She did not want to jump out directly at an armed Nobody, that could only spell disaster. So she quickly rolled to the right, feeling safe enough to left her left arm go slack, the arm with her katana in it.
The Fire Wielder stayed behind his wall of flames. The temperature was rising in here: he couldn't pull this off for too long without going unnoticed. He'd have to find a happy medium. But due either to stubbornness or his teaching method, he would not budge just yet. If she couldn't see him, she'd have to get creative in this duel. Creativity; it was a fighter's strength in battle. And now, he'd see just how strong Sage was.

A moment of rest in a battle was rare, especially in a battle with such a strong individual. Granted he wasn't going all out for her, Sage still knew that it was something to be cherished. She drew her arm up to her mouth and coughed into her sleeve. The smoke was starting to get to her. Fire could kill in more than one way and Sage was very aware of this. Being in such a small room was not good for her and she was going to have to figure out a way to stop Axel before her lungs were filled with carbon monoxide.
She pulled her shirt up around her nose and scanned what little of the room she could see to try and get an idea of where he was. The heat was getting to her, it felt like it was burning the skin on her face, though she was sure it was just the heat getting to her. Rest was all she needed now, rest and time to come up with a strategy. It was tough though, Sage was more of the attack first and think later type, how was she supposed to figure something out on the spot like this?
Fire... fire... How did Axel manage to control it? After all, was it possible for one person to be able to control such a powerful element? Sage often wondered how Firefoxes were able to have fire in their fox forms, but now was hardly the time to dwell on the subject. Meanwhile, what would happen if the fire got too out of control for even a Nobody to handle? Too bad there wasn't any wood around to help her with her plan. Suddenly a slow smirk spread its way across Sage's face. Sure she didn't have wood, but she had the next best thing.
She ran her fingers over the top of her sword, only a day old and she was already going to lose it. Something surprised her though when her fingers ran over a bump on the glass bulb that held the poison for her blade. Upon closer inspection, the poison-filled bulb seemed to have a clear stopper in it, probably used to fill the weapon for when the poison was low. The liquid inside the bulb was surprisingly high, for all the poison she used shouldn't the poison level be rather low on the blade?
Now wasn't the time to question things though, and she began to pick at the stopper with her fingernails. It wasn't opening though, and panic began to set in. Any second now Axel would be firing his next attack at her and she had to get the bulb open before it was too late. After all, she was open right now to any attack he threw at her, giving him a wonderful chance to win this round. She brought the bulb up to her teeth in one last attempt and was thankful when she began to pull it out with her teeth.
When finally it was out she spit out whatever was in her mouth several times so that hopefully no poison would be in her system. Now it was just time to make her move. She saw the shadow of Axel against a wall, but that was probably just her imagining things. But before she could find out she held the sword back wards and swung it down so all the poison splashed out and onto the floor. It was a surprising amount of poison and just seemed to keep coming. She began to run then, poison still flowing behind her for some reason. The flames caught the poison and began to ignite as the space in the room grew smaller and smaller.
Sage pulled the sword up, for fear of the flames reaching the poison that was pouring out of the bulb and burning her. She put the stopper in with one fluid motion and shoved herself in a corner. There she spotted the Nobody. He was across from her, with the flames to her left. How he would react she didn't know, but she brought her sword up in a fighting pose as a surge of heat washed over the room. She would now see just how he handled this fire.
((I don't think it's godmodding, but just to be on the safe side, let me know if I should change anything))
He had been watching her for the last few seconds; watching her pour that liquid across the ground, spilling it in an attempt to... well, he wasn't quite sure why, but he -was- sure of one thing; this meant move or die. "What were you thinking?" Those dusty eyes were sharp, piercing flusteredly at Sage.
Like a flash of lightning, he was behind her, wrapping one arm around her waist with an iron fasten. He planned to snatch her out of there whether she liked it or not... it was that, or die from the poison gases that now mingled with the smoke. He really didn't plan to go down today.
The redhead was chalk full of crazy past ventures, and spunk for the future, but to die from poison fumes in a training session was like suicide.
He was planning to make this process rather simple: he was going to uproot his opponent, jolt out of the room, and get above ground as quickly as possible. So where did they march off to? Sunset Terrace, to be exact.
Axel loved to dance on the edge of death... he did so quite frequently. But he wasn't ready to fall in just yet.
((No worries. If all of this is okay by you, I plan to continue this thread in Sunset Terrace. I don't mind tossing out a starting post for it soon as I can, just let me know if this post works for you.
