In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Light covered the arena for a moment and Ikari blinked a couple of times and then felt the wall start to move and rise. Raising her brow in surprise at that, Ikari immediately drew back her left arm and readied Temporal Flame. Flames started to build and lick her arm as she focused her mana. The flame's soon swirled around the KeyBlade and Ikari swung it forwards, dislodging herself from the boulder that she had jammed in the... what-used-to-be-a side of a crevice that had been created by Rook's magic.
Jumping back, Ikari had stumbled a couple of times, though regained her balance and looked from where she was to Rook. A small growl emitted from her throat and the fire-user tightened her grip on both the hilts of her blades as she narrowed her eyes. He wanted to play with fire, huh?
"Then it looks like you're about to get burned..." Ikari said, quickly shifting the flow of her mana to her mouth. Opening it, the fire-user did what she did for the first match that she participated in. She aimed her Dragon Breath cast for the ground and made the arena fit both her and her powers. If he was going to play with magic, then she was too.
((Sorry, my muse took a short vacation down to Kamakura to go sightseeing. Didn't leave a note.))
Rook raised his left arm to his face to shield his eyes from the ensuing flames that began to lick and dance across the arena floor. Between decimating the grounds with his first match and this, the furthest thing from his mind, but much more relevant in context to the tournament, was that he could be certain Hades had himself a very speedy reconstruction team.
Taking a few steps back to get room between himself and the fire, he lowered his hand and brought forward the BlackJack. "Alright Ikari... let's see how this hand gets dealt. Dark Guard!"
His body began to outline and emit a low dark glow as the Darkness began its temporary shielding of his body. Charging forward and dashing forward and just to her left, he kicked up and off a piece of upturned stone, and slashed out as he passed her chest-height, the point of the heart adorning his weapon's blade aimed at her, "Lexaeus couldn't stop me! I toppled Gilgamesh! I won't let you get the best of me now that I've come this far!"
It's perfectly fine, Rookers. My punctuality isn't going to be all that great here, either. It already hasn't been.
A small smirk had made its way onto the fire-vixen's lips as the fire she summoned had found its way to taking the arena and engulfing it with its fatal, beauteous substance. There were few that could be taking the heat of her magic, and luckily for Ikari, most of her enemies and/or opponents couldn't.
"Alright Ikari... let's see how this hand gets dealt. Dark Guard!"
Dismissing Temporal Flame for a moment, Ikari rose her right hand to her left breast pocket and then withdrew the Seven of Hearts card that Rook had presented to her when they had met in Halloween Town. Raising her brow and giving Rook a slightly challenging look to hide the concerned one that wanted to make itself known because of the dark energy that outlined him, Ikari merely replied with, "yes... let's."
Sticking it back into her pocket, the fire user took in a deep breath and then summoned the fiery KeyBlade back into being in her hold. With it now back firmly in her grasp, Ikari furrowed her brow and kept her eye on the redhead across the field from her. She had wanted to do this tournament for fun -- but it seemed that there were people out there that weren't so keen on that aspect.
As Rook rushed for her, Ikari immediately took to jumping back and then bending back. Pressing her back against the ground for a brief moment, the dark-haired teen heard him say, "Lexaeus couldn't stop me! I toppled Gilgamesh! I won't let you get the best of me now that I've come this far!"
Pushing herself up and giving Rook a rather dirty look before she just smirked and then dismissed her KeyBlade once more and then even took the time to be sheathing Dragon's Flame. She tilted her head to the side and gave him a rather smug look.
"Ah, Rookie, Rookie..." Ikari started, a certain tone to her voice as she spoke. "It's just a game, my friend. What'cha gettin' so worked up, for? Hm? Even if you lose..." she started to side step as she spoke, "and if you're lucky enough to be surviving... you can always just... 'play' again."
Rook hit the ground on both feet, sliding over up-turned and loose gravel for nearly two feet before coming to a halt, and spinning about to face her. His look had switched from full of determination, to... confusion? His brow furrowed softly. After all this time, it wasn't something he really expected. She remembered him. And he wavered for it.
That Seven of Hearts...
"...But that card means luck, and love in finding it..."
"Th-thank you... so much. I'll treasure it,"
And it seemed she did. Rook new his cards. They had been with him for years, a gift from his oldest friend. After all that time, he near dared to call them family, and thus, the importance they held over him. But Ikari had kept her word.
She seemed to disarm herself, her Keyblade and her sword both lowered. "It's just a game, my friend. What'cha gettin' so worked up, for? Hm? Even if you lose...and if you're lucky enough to be surviving... you can always just... 'play' again."
A breath entered, and exited him, flowing through his nose, and out his mouth in a sigh. Why couldn't it have been Relena? Why did he have to fight someone he cared about? With a visible reluctance, BlackJack vanished in a shimmer of red, black and gold. He wouldn't fight her with an advantage. It was the least he would, or was going to, give her.
His fists raised in defense, and he shuffled forward and right, edging around her, out of range, "It's no game to me, Ikari. This is more than that... I'll come from behind, I'll be the underdog, and I'll leave with this title. And then people will remember who I was.
His intent laid out, Rook swung in and low, kicking forward, and dropping his legs from under him, right arm firing forward and at her midsection as his left arm hovered in front of his chest and face, expecting the counter.
A scoff escaped her lips and she took steps back to distance herself. Remembrance... it seemed to be the goal of few that she had crossed paths with recently. The fire user merely rolled her eyes and then looked back to Rook with a stern expression. "Remembrance, remembrance.... Who the hell cares? You want fame and popularity? Get yourself somewhere where it actually fucking matters."
Ever since seeing him briefly in the waiting room after her first match, Rook had been getting on Ikari's nerves with the way that he was acting. There was something off about all of it, and there was no way that this ebony-haired hothead was going to just let that slip past without her say on it. "You say you want to be remembered, just because of a silly title? Let me tell you something, Chess Piece; these games are going to be going on and on over the years, and once they do, someone will take the top spot, and you won't have your so-called 'title' any longer."
She shook her head, a frown upon her lips; "some remembrance that'll be, huh?"
Rook's retort was fast on the heels of hers, threatening to interrupt her and cut her off, "I don't want fame or popularity! I don't give a damn about this title! I don't want people cheering my name or telling my tales, I just don't want to be forgotten!!"
He looked up at her from his knelt position, brows curled in, but mouth wavering in what seemed to be a sad frown, "I gave you that cared for two reasons, Ikari; first of all was because I wanted to know you, and I wanted you to want to know me. Second was because I wanted to give you something you wouldn't forget me for! Hate me for being selfish, go on! Berate me for being scared! But I stumbled into shadow and found strength to pull what I want from past my fingertips, and I won't let you snatch it away!!"
A Dark portal opened below him and he thrust his balled fist in to it. A blink in time later, the portal opened in front of her, just left of her face. From the dark depths his punch emerged, aimed for her nose.
I withdraw.... I have more important things to be shifting my attention to than RPs on here at the moment. Many of which concern the surgeries that are planned for me within the near future.
