Name: Vrael 'Irritus'
Nickname(optional): Sin
Age: 19 pushing 20
Gender: Male
Species: Human / Augmented through SOLDIER
Position: Neutral (On the fence.)
Power(s):Dark Heart - This is the equivalent to Beserk except Vrael's heart is overwhelmed by darkness, granting him complete control over the darkness within him. In this mode, Vrael's strength and speed are augmented to 15% higher than normal as well as the use of the darkness. Although a wonderful asset in battle, the more he uses it the darker his heart grows eventually giving himself to the darkness.
Dark Transmission - A simple skill, using the darkness to move from one location to another. It's not much of a combat technique because of the time it takes for the darkness to manifest and create a portal for which Vrael steps into.
Summoning - Vrael stumbled across the Odin materia during his search around Gaia.
Swordsmanship - Vrael has mastered the usage of his primary weapon, Inmetsu, his katana.
Jenova's Aid - After the experiments made on him in Hojo's lab, the combination of the relentless darkness, mako infussion, and Jenova cells, Vrael can use the elements Lightning and Earth without the use of Materia. But, because of that he can not use other elemental based Materia. Also, because the experiments and the injection of Jenova cells, Vrael's own genetic structure fused with them and allows him to channel Mako from the planet in desperate times.
Weapon(s): Vrael uses a standard Katana, silghtly more dense than the normal sword. This is his primary weapon.
Vrael is also seen using a clawed gauntlet on his left arm, which covers the entire arm.
Picture(optional):Appearance:Vrael stands at an even 6'0" with a very solid constitution. His toned physique his hidden under very casual attire which consists of a hooded jacket with a few loose straps hanging around it and a pair of black form-fitting jeans.
When it comes to looks, Vrael is a very attractive young man with youthful features being seemingly flawless. With a closer look, these flawless features are not such. His face carries the result of combat which are scars. The most noticable one being the one verdically through his eye. Having long white hair helps to hide them, unintentionally. From behind the shoulder-length hair beam eyes of a green-ish blue glow.
Personality: Vrael is nothing shy of an average person when it comes to his personality, nothing weird could be placed on how he acts. To the few people he can call friends, he can be very loyal but at times it's as if he has two sides. Vrael tends to have episodes of, for lack of a better word, insanity or darkness. This is most likely caused by the darkness that grows within him. Aside from these frequent episodes, Vrael only shows signs of this during intense combat for which his demeanor changes to something along the lines of battle hungry.
When calm, he's talkative but not too talkative. He can be catagorized as one who likes to be alone and enjoy solitude. But like everything about him, there is another side. On other days, Vrael likes to be surrounded by people, usually when he goes out to train.
Original World: Gaia
Current Residing World: On the move
History/Background: Vrael was raised in Midgar, Sector 7 slums but born to parents that worked for ShinRa. To his parents he was considered a mistake and given up for adoption, although not much about his time with them could be remembered. He was raised by a kind woman in the Slums, he was given to her as a child of 3 years. He never knew of his real parents or that he was adopted for that matter, his mother, Renae hid him from the brutal truth. His childhood was fairly normal until his mother grew very ill. She could no longer work nor support the two of them. Vrael was only a child and didn't know what to do.
The morning Vrael came home after begging for money and using that money to by food, he would only find his mother had passed on peacfully in her sleep. Despite how she left, she left and that was the first day Vrael felt the darkness that hybernated within him. This could be the point where Vrael's persona split into two, but for the next two years until he was 12 the darkness controlled him through anger and hate. But because there was no specific thing he could hate, he hated everything. He ran the slums alone, picking fights with other kids and winning the majority of them. As time elapsed he became an adept fighter.
When he became 12 he began to repress the darkness unknowningly after hearing about Sephiroth and SOLDIER. This was the only shred of hope to him since his mother passed. Young Vrael made it his goal to become SOLDIER, looking up to Sephiroth as his idol. Before he set out on his journey to become SOLDIER he paid his old house a visit, looking through things. Just before his heart ridded itself of the darkness that plaqued it, he stumbled across the adoption paperwork. Confused, he looked through it not knowing what most of it meant. But he could make out two names, those of which he assumed to be his real parents. The pain and confusion he felt provide the ember the darkness needed to stay lit.
The young boy began his training before trying to join SOLDIER. He became very talented with a sword, and when he felt he was good enough he went to join SOLDIER.

After joining SOLDIER, Vrael blew through 3rd Class in under a year. At the age of 17 he was SOLDIER 2nd Class and already proving his worth. Vrael was sent on countless missions, but not once did he every see his idol. After hearing of Zack Fair being promoted to SOLDIER 1st class, Vrael began to work harder and harder. He was recommended for 1st but was denied due to lack of experience, only being 18. His skill, and the darkness that was dormant inside him caught the eye of Professor Hojo. Hojo pursuaded Vrael to allow him to experiment on him. To Vrael this was a way to access more power and become 1st, so Hojo played on that and Vrael went along with it.
Hojo tried to fuse the Jenova cells with the mako that was tainted by his own darkness in him just to see the results. But the darkness within Vraels heart allowed the cells to fuse with himself. Hojo deemed him a failed experiment because there was no physical augmentations or immediate energy augmentations like he had planned and like those in that category, he casted Vrael aside. Not fully knowing what had gone on the months he was under Hojo's care, Vrael went about his normal SOLDIER duties. Little did he know, the Jenova cells where slowly being fused with the darkness within him that tainted the mako infused in him, providing the darkness with a way back to the surface. Vrael was then promoted to SOLDIER 1st Class but felt something was wrong after recieving a messege regarding Zack Fair being K.I.A.
Toward the end of the war with Genesis, Vrael mainly played his role as 1st and protected President Shinra during all the chaos. At the time, Vrael was the only remaining SOLDIER 1st class before Nero and Weiss were promoted. Slowly, ShinRa began to compensate for the mass defect that caused such grief. Shortly after the defeat of Genesis, Vrael caught wind of Deepground, something he had never known. But being 1st Class comes with it's benefits. He didn't look too far into Deepground after finding out what exactly it was. Up until his promotion, Vrael always thought Sephiroth was killed in action but upon him reaching 1st he was opened to the truth. This was the first time Vrael had felt any sort of doubt in ShinRa, but he tried to brush it off.
(Time Skip)
Vrael had been siffting through ShinRa documents on Deepground and the experiments on Zack Fair and Cloud Strife. Vrael was a very loyal SOLDIER, and reading these reports on Zack and his extermination and Cloud being lost shortly after brought his questions to the surface once more. The experiments done on himself, the Jeneova cells he was infused with, was he a monster as Sephiroth and Genesis thought of themselves. Would he lose his mind like the two of them? Shortly after Vrael had begun his inner despute, AVALANCHE bombed one of the reactors. Vrael was sent to oversee the investigation and lead.
President Shinra knew of the planned attack on Reactor No.5 and planned a trap for AVALANCHE. It was intended that Vrael be sent in to meet and destroy the group, but he refused due to his research in prior Shinra activities. So, President Shinra went himself with a little surprise. After the death of President Shinra, and the stepping up of Rufus, Vrael defected from ShinRa in search of power that wasn't just given through experimentation. So, he set off without warning.
Role Playing Sample:The day had been dragging on and Vrael had been training for hours. It was his turn to become 1st and he wouldn't let anything stand between him and his goal. He had asked two of his fellow 2nd's to train with him, although they were hesitant because Vrael had just returned from a mission and they felt two on one would be unfair, they were swayed to train with him. He drew his sword from it's resting place on his hip and refused to wait for the first move, so he made it himself. Rushing the two operatives, one leapt over him as the other braced for impact. Vrael's blade met with the targets, emitting a loud metallic clash that echoed. Pulling off of the 1st target in order to maintain the 2nd, Vrael intercepted the rear attack with ease. "You'll need to put a little more effort in, boys. If you want to win that is." He muttered, applying more force behind his blade to end the stalemate between him and the 2nd target.
"More effort, eh?" the 1st target replyed, his tone seemed to carry a bit of offense. From the there the 1st target made his move. The 1st targets hand began to glow red for an instant before he fired off a fireball from his palm. Suprised, Vrael was slightly caught off gaurd. Severing the blast with his blade, Vrael was confronted by the 1st target who used the blast to mask his movement. Just when it was seemingly inevitable, Vrael's body was engulfed in a blakish purple aura and just as his swing was beyond the point of return it changed directions and reflected the 1st target, sending him back and with the same momentum he pulled a 180 and fended off the 2nd who tried to take advantage of Vrael's suprise.
"I think that's enough for today." Vrael suggested, a bit confused as to what just happened. The other two nodded, equally as suprised as Vrael was. "Good session today, guys." Vrael acknowledged, offering a nod to both of them as he exited the training room and the two baffled operatives.
