In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Picture (Optional): N/A
Appearance: Jack has light skin, medium-length brown hair and blue eyes. He is thin and sort of toned. He wears a yellow t-shirt with his favorite black ligtning bolt symbol on the front. Over it, he wears a black sweating jacket with the same symbol in yellow on the back. He also wears blue jeans and white sneakers. During fights, he removes the jacket so it doesn't restrict him.
Personality: Jack, since he started fighting, has always been smart and thirsty for knowledge. He is full of equations and formulas. Unfortunately, it is mostly math and science, and history. He is good on the battlefield as a strategist, but not so much simultaneously as a fighter. He has trouble concentrating under time pressure. His way around this is convincing himself that he has enough time. When he is focused, he can accomplish a lot. Due to his past he absolutely loathes Heartless.
When it comes to people, Jack tries to avoid awkward moments with strangers. He likes being with friends, but is not very good at making them. He is sort of shy and tries to delay the inevitable. When it comes to girlfriends, Jack has no ability to initiate anything.
History/Background: Jack was born on a distant world, called 'The Giant Storm' by the residents. It is constantly storming there. His parents were middle-class and already had a daughter, Isabelle. Jack grew up, always looking at his sister as a role model. When he was ten (she, fifteen), she learned how to fight with a sword, to help fight the rising number of Heartless. He saw how she loved swords, and he saved his money for three years to buy her a sword. She accepted it gratefully and gave up her old weapon to have it. She even modified it, when she had enough money, to hold lightning.
When Jack was fifteen, he started spell training (that's the way it worked on that world). At the same time, Isabelle taught him sword fighting as he wanted. About halfway through spell training, Heartless took the world. Jack was sixteen, and his sister, at twenty-one, was killed before his eyes by Heartless. Jack was nearly overrun by the creatures, but managed to lock himself in a basement. With him was his sister's sword when he blacked out and woke in Traverse Town, with a grudge against heartless.
Role Playing Sample: The heartless all over, bodies everywhere, Isabelle being hit and disappearing before his eyes, the dim light, then nothing. Jack woke with a start, eyes closed, hoping that it had all been a dream. Hoping he could just roll over and tell Isabelle about it later.
He did roll over, but his face touched a distinctive texture: cold brick. He jumped up rubbing his cheek, trying to circulate the blood to make himself warm again.
He looked around. There was brick all around in wall form. At his feet was a sword. Isabelle's sword. He picked it up. It still had its sheath, and his old sword was nowhere in sight. He tied it to his belt. Having the perfectly balanced weight at his side made him feel better.
He had no idea where he was. His home town was mostly made of wood. Had he been somehow brought to the ocean? No it was miles from home, and he would probably have died from the dangerous currents it was known for. This had to be a dream. But the cold brick had felt so real... Was it another world?
Jack had heard tales of other worlds, but never believed them. There seemed to be a single option-- looking. Jack fixed his hair and turned the corner, ready to face... wherever he was.

Name: Taiyou Segare Nickname(optional): Furui Teishu ("Ancient Master," a title used by people that might recognize him), Sun-son (if one knows his language and thus the joke), Taiyou-sensei (by students), Tai (by close friends Age: 2000, or so Gender: Male Species: Divine Human Position: Lawful Good Class:Hai-monk
Power(s): Primarily, Taiyou is a martial artist. Known as Bujutsu, there were several types of it on his home country, but five in particular were the main ones: Jujutsu- the use of indirect force, such as joint locks or throwing, to overcome an opponent. Judo- a grappling-based style. Aikido- Also grappling-based, but it is more focused on exploiting openings and perfect timing. Kyûdô- The use of a bow to defeat an opponent. This can be used from a stationary point, from a mount, or even from a vehicle, if one can judge time and distances correctly. Yaibawaza- Using a sword against an opponent. This focuses on speed and agility over power. Taiyou is a master of them all, having spent many years learning them separately and practicing often.
In addition to the Bujutsu, Taiyou is a sort of 'monk'. With his practice so far, he knows five of eleven Disciplines granted upon him by his god, Hai-Teishu. Curing- This ability is equivalent to Curaga, in which Taiyou draws upon his spiritual energy to restore himself. This works on all but severe wounds (that is, anything up to severed appendages or greatly damaged tissue). [Three posts between uses.] Assimilance- This ability allows Taiyou to 'blend in' with his surroundings. This covers hiding, but it also allows him to alter his appearance to look similar to residents of a certain place, as well as understanding their language easily and eliminating any accent he might have. This can only be used if Taiyou has someone or something to go by reference- seeing a person of that race and hearing them speak. [Can be used in a full thread, but two more must go by before he can use it again. For example, being an aquatic creature in Atlantica.] Mind Surge- Using this, Taiyou can send psychic pulses to someone, which can be messages or even impulses to leave or to go somewhere. Though, he can't necessarily tell someone what to do, as much as suggest it in their mind. It's hard to explain, but the method leaves the victim thinking that it was their idea. [Being a complex 'spell,' it can only be used after five posts.] Resilience- Taiyou can withstand abnormally high or low temperatures. That is, he can run through a forest fire and only sweat, and he can stand barefoot in snow for a while before getting frostbite, but he is still affected by spells like Fire or Blizzard. Alchemy- Taiyou can use various substances (plants, minerals, the items left by Heartless and Nobodies, etc.) to make items such as potions or to enhance items. Enhancements have a set number of uses, and most affect Heartless and Nobodies. [Can only be used when the ingredients are available. Obviously.] The rest will be learned as he pursues them.
Weapon(s): Though he can use a number of weapons, Taiyou only carries two: Katana- A katana with a black sheath and hilt. The guard is an X-shape, with the end of each extension extending down towards the butt of the sword, forming a spike at the end of each. The butt of the blade is the open mouth of a dragon. Yumi- A wooden bow, about 87 inches in height, with a black cloth covering over the grip. The arrows, in a black quiver, are about 34-35 inches long.
Picture(optional):
Appearance: Taiyou, bieng old, has very gray, almost white, hair, which is a medium length and is somewhat messy, but he doesn't care. He has very serious blue eyes, which have a critical look to them. Over the eyes are eyebrows, which are as gray as his hair and rather bushy. His usual expression is so serious that it looks like it was cut out of a block of stone. And badly at that. He usually has a frown on his face- not from anger, sadness, or dissatisfaction, but because that is how he looks. When he smiles, it turns into more of a smirk.
As for clothing, Tai usually wears one of his uniforms. They generally consist of a kimono, a cloth belt, and a hakama. For shoes, he often wears a pair of wooden sandals he's had for years. Whenever they're in bad condition, he spends a week or so repairing them. The uniforms come in many natural colors- brown, black, green, grey, and white. He also has a bag- a knapsack that he carries around to keep his items. On his waist is the sheath for his katana, and on his back is his quiver, with the arrows in it, with a part to hold the bow as well.
Personality: Taiyou has many aspects to his personality. He is very kind, to those who deserve it. He is respectful to those who respect him. He is polite to polite people, and always minds his manners. Though, he has his bad points. He can be very mean, rude, and nasty. Though, it isn't unjust- he is only like this to people who act the same way. Tai is in no way obnoxious, and he is patient and overall sympathetic. He may not always show it, but he cares for people that he likes. He is usually serious, but he has a surprising sense of humor.
As a teacher/sensei, Tai is disciplinary and strict. He expects to get out what he puts in. If he spends all of his time instructing a person, he expects them to spend their time learning. If someone is disobedient, he is not above commanding them to do exercises on the side, or to do a chore, while he teaches techniques to the other students. He favors none of his students unless they have completed his courses. He also believes that no one is ever 'finished' with mastering something. He understands that there is always room for improvement, and that there is no real progress until a student does something different from how he taught them and explains how it is more effective. It is then that a student is ready for the next part of training, but they have to realize it themselves.
Original World: Hai-ton Current Residing World: Traverse Town History/Background: A long, long time ago, on a world far away, Taiyou Segare was born. His parents named him for the time of his birth- the summer solstice in the Season of Fire on his world. His father was a fisherman, and his mother (as it was customary) stayed home to tend to the home and, now, the child. As soon as he was able to walk and talk, his father taught him the basics of fishing, so he could carry on the family business. And, as soon as he could hook a decent-sized fish and not be pulled into the harbor by a sudden pull, he was taught the specifics.
Though, on one fateful day when Tai was still young, a big storm flooded the village and caused a landslide in the mountain whose base contained his town. Both of his parents were killed, and he was left in an orphanage. As he grew into his teenage years, he became mischevious, and liked to play tricks. This eventually grew to theft, but not of anything valuable- the happer of a blacksmith here, the hoe of a farmer there, but never jewelry or small children or anything like that.
Eventually, the town was fed up with his antics, and at the age of seventeen, he took the hint (the hint being a mob of people with weapons and fire), and took his leave in the form of a couple of empty purses and the disappearance of a horse. He traveled many places, never staying in once place too long. Being a harmless stranger, no one ever thought much of him. He then met a man with a wagon, who he traveled with for a long time. Soon enough, their paths no longer were the same, and the man left.
During a bad winter, Tai found himself holed up in a large tree hollow, hoping to die from freezing. At that time, a voice spoke to him, asking why he was so sad. Telling the voice what was happening, an opening appeared in the back of the hollow, into a large, warm chamber with a wise old man. Learning that the man was the old god Hai-Teishu, Tai stayed with the man for many years, becoming a true Hai Monk by the age of twenty-five. He learned his Disciplines, and at the age of thirty-five, he set off to further personal training. He went to a temple, and learned the basics of the martial arts he now knows.
From there, he continued to travel around his continent, developing his Disciplines and slowly mastering the martial arts. At the age of fifty, he realized that he still looked about twenty years old, somehow. Meeting later with his God, he learned that the divinity of the god rubbed off on him, in a way. He left after visiting for a few years, and continued on his travels. Deciding to do something with his extra time, he started a school- the Dohai School when he was seventy. It was his way of spreading they Way of Hai, which was what 'Dohai' translated to in the Language of the Gods. He taught groups of students, from childhood to the late teenage years, teaching his beliefs, ideals, and martial arts, and even the Disciplines, for several hundred years. Traveling around stopped people from recognizing him and calling his lack of age out.
When he was 700, he put a pause on teaching to meditate. He visited his old friend once more, and went high up in the mountains. On the tallest mountain in the world, he built a temple with his bare hands, surviving in the extreme cold for a hundred years, living off of the mountain. When it was complete, after a hundred years, he found that the cold didn't effect him much anymore, thus the Resilience skill. He entered the temple, and sat upon the altar, and went into a deep meditative state. When he started to meditate, he concentrated so hard that he lost awareness of his environment, and was almost in a vegetative state.
Coming out of it, over three hundred years later, he found that people now inhabited the temple. In fact, the very first thing he realized was that people were kneeling and praying to him. Standing up, the people gasped. After several hours, he found that an old village from the time that he built the temple had experienced national deterioration, and they had moved into the mountains to avoid bandits, which soon freely roamed the land. As they expanded further up the mountain, the discovered his mountain and thought that he was a god. After explaining that he wasn't and that he worshipped Hai-Teishu.
After he left (much to the disdain of the villagers), he visited his god again and then continued with the school for nearly a thousand years. From there, he decided that he'd done enough with this world. Voicing his opinion to his God, the divine being told him of other worlds and suggested that he go to them and spread his ideals and abilities. Agreeing, he took a crash course on piloting and set off to fulfill his quest.
