In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

It had taken quite a bit of finagling to get in, but she had done it! Rachel strode proudly down the hallways of the Castle currently under the administration of the Radiant Garden Restoration Unified Committee, on her way to the Library. She had heard that the Library was an easy place to get lost in, especially since pulling the wrong book off of a shelf could cause the entire bookcase to suddenly shift and turn the place into a maze.
Hiking up her green dress, Rachel began to quicken her pace, no longer able to contain her excitement at this privilege. She'd been trying for so long to get in and take a look at the mountains of old tomes she suspected lay hidden in this oft-forgotten vault of knowledge. She just knew there was a book in there that could help her solve her problem.
I'm sorry, Phoenix, but I can't rely on you forever... she thought. Even you have limitations, and I don't like the idea of seeing them reached before I get all of this straightened out.
Opening the old doors, Rachel quickly found herself being scrutinized by the few other scholars who had come there. Most were men with funny hats and stuffy clothing, while a scant few were younger men and women with glasses, still with apparel that denoted their higher, more learned status.
Ignoring them, Rachel walked over, her shoes making tapping noises that she was sure couldn't be as loud as they sounded. She reached the desk and pulled out the catalog, running through the lists of topics.
"Respect... Respiration..." she said, thumbing through the old cards. "Resurrection... Restitution... Ah, there! Resurrection!" she said, grabbing a nearby quill and some paper to write down the area of the Library she'd be searching in. "Shelf 220A, Case 113," she said to herself, closing the drawer and turning around.
"Looks like I've got my work cut out for me..."

The same halls still gave her the chills as remnants of pass events flickered before her through sapphire eyes that weren't her own. Actually at times she would feel liked she was being watched as if Ansem and Maleficent were some where in these dark corners. She was no where near Sora's and Riku's statuses so she would try to avoid such complicated scenarios where she would end up comatouse, while her heart is just a trinket of a power giving ritual. It seemed being a Princess of Heart had its vitues and curses; she couldn't fall to darkness, yet those who walk on the bad side of darkenss wants her heart.
Why would the cosmos even set up things this way? Why would nature have it that taking hearts of seven people produce a weapon that can unlock the ultimate power? Seriously was that just the recipe of chaos and power hungry people? In what scenario with it be good and sacrificial? Other related characters continued to hound Kairi until she found herself in the library. This Princess of Heart gig was moreso a random inheritance. It wasn't passed down from family or so she thought, yet she couldn't really consider that because she vaguely remembers her family. Also there wasn't an initiation for Princess of Hearts, nor were there a manual or a sorority for her. That's why she was here. Perhaps Ansem had notes about it, or something, and when she thought Ansem she meant either the sage or the heartless.
"Where would I even begin?" She doubt it would be easy to find in bold letters "How to be a Princess of Heart"; if so everyone and their grandpa would know about them, "maybe I should start small."
Hearts
"Might as well go find that catalog," manuevering through the maze, which she became quickly familiar too, Kairi pardoned herself towards a woman with long coal black hair and natural toned green dress. Seeing that she was blocking the R drawer; Kairi merely side stepped to get closer to the H's.
A young woman with auburn hair passed Rachel as she left the drawers of the catalog to go and search for any books that might hold some key to the solution for her condition. As it turned out, Bookcase 113 was on the complete opposite side of the library. Shelf 220A was at the top.
"Seriously?" Rachel said. "But I don't see a ladder..." Rachel looked around corners, but none of the shelves had ladders either. Sighing, Rachel resigned herself to look for one. All of this running about in a place that was supposed to be for sitting down and reading... They had to get better funding for the restoration of the castle itself.
Eventually, she found a ladder more than three shelves away. Trying to pull it over as noiselessly as she could, Rachel finally managed to pull it in front of the her target bookcase. Ascending the ladder, she passed some very interesting titles that Rachel promised herself she'd come back for if she could. On reaching the top step, she smiled to herself in excitement. Pulling up onto the top, she saw...
One book. Shelf 220A on Bookcase 113 had exactly one book, lying on its side, on it. There weren't even any check-out notices, so she knew that meant there was only one book assigned to that section.
"At last. I can retire with the knowledge I'll grow old," Rachel said, a hint of dry humor touching up her snarky comment. Pulling the book from the shelf, she descended the ladder and once more attended to the catalog.
"Not much in 'Resurrection'..." Rachel sighed, "but maybe there's something under 'Healing'." The auburn-haired young lady was still standing there, and now Rachel also had need of that part of the catalog. Not wanting to be rude, Rachel intently waited for her turn at the catalog.

Thus far everything she flipped through about hearts were so anatomical; nothing title was grabbed her attention to narrow her search down to a more related findings.
"Come oon you have to have something," Kairi grumbled in frustration. If any world was going to have information like this it was going to be this place. Hell it seemed like the world that started it all. Feeling a nagging poke at her back with a chill, the red-head looked up and blinked impishly. "
Oh I'm sorry for hogging it; it won't take long," she perked before turning back to furrow throught the stubs of paper, while speaking openly, "or so I hope. I swear it's like one of those days where you can't find what you're looking for and you just hit a series of roadblocks."
Generally Kairi was an optimistic girl, but with the responsibility at hand and the calling in her heart, this mission was taking its toll on her; the weight of what she was laid on her in full force. Finally she thought she was up to something as she pulled one that had a familiar name, Ansem. Grabbing a free mini sheet of paper with an eraser-less pencil, Kairi scribbled down the information, "Oh nevermind, after all when there's rain there's sunshine right?"
She turned around to fully see the woman from earlier. She had a new pep in her step as she walked past her to a shelf of books, "It's all yours."
With that she was off towards her next venture. FIND THAT BOOK!
Rachel smiled, taking an instant liking to this young woman as far as random acquaintances go.
"It's alright," she said when the girl seemed to be a bit sheepish about using the catalog while she waited. "I imagine what you're looking for is probably not that hard to find, so I can wait."
When the girl left, Rachel sneaked a small peek at what she'd been researching before. Heart (Metaphysical)... What an odd topic... Shrugging slightly at it at first, Rachel thumbed absentmindedly through the cards before she reached Healing, but she found quickly that they were all medical text books or books on using Cure-based magic... neither of which were going to help solve her problem.
Why would a girl her age be interested in Hearts, though... Rachel thought. She didn't feel overly Dark... so I don't think she's a Heartless. Is it possible she's a Nobody?
Rachel followed the young woman to the shelf where she was searching for a book. Attempting to act casual, Rachel walked over to the shelf next to her, which just so happened to house the medical texts she had seen before. All incredibly dry reading, and none of it on the subject she was looking for, but she pretended to be interested for as long as she could while sneaking glances out of her periphery. Finally, she could take no more and sighed, leaning against the bookcase behind her.
"Why is it that there are almost no books in this library that can help me?" Rachel laughed a tad before looking to the other girl.

"Hm?" Kairi hummed in recognition, while she looked around to see if anyone was talking to her. This little quirk always annoyed her afterwards if she misjudged the welcoming conversation; she'd generally feel like a happy pup that was let down or naive to think that someone who wanted to talk to her would HAPPEN to be around. Her eyes homed in on the same brunette with the green dress, and she was looking directly at her, "Yeeah I think this place is a bit out-dated.
She turned back towards the shelf briefly with a shrug, while her fingers followed the code system of the books until she found a match to her scribbled penmanship, "Who knows how long this world was seiged by heartless before the restoration committee restored it? Eeh with that in mind I doubt this place had enough time or resources to get some tender loving care."
She was getting closer and closer and closer, and wow, the numbers just skipped, the book she was looking for or more than likely a journal was missing, "And to answer your second question, no ...no luck. I guess no one would have current studies on heart, yet I don't blame them there's too much trouble that could be born of that."
Kairi stood up straight from her hunched position; her lids were drooped with disappointment. Why couldn't life just give her lemonade straight forward rather than lemons without a knife, a juicer, water, sugar, or a pitcher...just lemons?
"So what were you looking for? Hopefully it's not about hearts, because yoou will definitely hit a dead end."
"No, I'm afraid I'm not looking for anything about hearts..." Rachel replied. "I was looking for books about Healing Magic, but the only things they have are about medicine or Cure-based magic... Which isn't really that helpful at this point." Rachel blinked, and then laughed.
Any doubts that had been surrounding this girl before were vanquished. Rachel felt herself even more warmed to her, and she felt like... maybe they had something in common. Touting her own find, she opted to hold it out for this girl to look at.
"I'm researching the subject of resurrecting the dead," Rachel said, and then realized how evil that could sound. "Not like a necromancer. I mean like bringing someone completely back to life, soul and all." Rachel laughed nervously, brushing an errant strand of hair back behind her ear.
Oh, that so doesn't sound any better...
Shaking her head, she realized she hadn't given her name yet. This girl was definitely trustworthy, even a little bit of a kindred spirit...
Okay, slow that ghost train down a bit, Rachel. You've only just met.
All of this, and she was still just standing there silently, probably looking like some great weirdo... Getting back on track, Rachel smiled again.
"My name's Rachel, by the way," she said. "May I ask what yours is?"

Kairi's head tilted in confusion. Wouldn't healing lead you to medicines and light magic? From that point she really didn't get what else she could possibly be looking for. This made the overall innocent search concerning. How much more healing do you need than a simple cure spell or a band-aid? Then she pulled out the big guns.
The youth's face distorted into an awkward silent shock; her mouth was ajar, while her left cheek arched up to make her eye twitch. Her aqua purple eyes began drifting around to signal anyone for aid, since this seemingly nice woman may have lossed all of her marbles. In practice, Kairi tries not to jump the horse and judge people, but this pill was too big to swallow without second guessing where this woman's head was at. When she explained herself, it didn't really help her not seem crazy.
This woman name was Rachel, and she was asking for Kairi's name. Already she felt like someone had dropped her into the crapper. Here she was without her 'disguise' on thinking it would be completely safe to roam the library only to meet a girl who wants to raise the dead. She wondered if she could even go by Shio now.
"Kairi," AAAAH SNICKERDOODLES! Now her mind was throwing up red flags as if the teen had pushed herself in the box of doom. Maybe she could chaos control all of this and knock some sense into this bizarre and random endeavor."So ummm Rachael why are you even trying to bring someone back from the dead? I mean is that even truly possible?"
She didn't want to judge her or pull out the reality stick and say, 'hey you really need to move instead of chasing a ghost and running into libraries hoping you can do a witch circle to bring people back.'
In all her years ever since her innocent bubbles of unconsciousness of the worlds been popped, she never heard of anything like bringing one back from the dead in regards to magick. Sora or Riku had ever mentioned anything like it. Also she doubt Merlin would allow such subject slip from the tongue. Was it just impossible for magick to do, or was it so dark that it's never reiterated?
Kairi would rather believe the former. It would just comfort her with the idea that magic has its limitation, and that there weren't people falling into dark dispair out of desperation to recall and recover a lost.
"Well, it's kind of a long story..." Rachel began. She knew it was a big thing to bring out, but it wasn't worth all the secrecy now that she'd admitted to Kairi about her subject of research. If she didn't tell her everything now, she'd think she was barking mad.
"You see," she continued, "I used to be dead." Pause for the information to sink in, and... "But I was brought back to life using the powers of an Esper, named Phoenix. At first, I was so overjoyed that I'd be able to live life with my beloved once again, but..." Rachel paused, unconsciously touching the scar between her breasts through her dress. "Then I came here, and I began to worry about how long I had left before even that power faded and I died again."
Smiling sadly, Rachel looked forlornly at the rows and rows of knowledge that surrounded her, then to the book in her hands, and then to Kairi.
"So I began to research any ways I might be able to continue living without Phoenix's power," Rachel said. "But I haven't had any luck, and I am beginning to worry even more."
She felt old, as she always did when talking about her unfortunate circumstances. She'd practically died twice-- once when she lost her memory, and again when the Empire shot her. Twice-- and now three times, she'd lost Locke. Somehow, she just wanted to make things right again. Locke had to know before she truly passed on that he never failed her... She'd failed him.
"I don't want to live forever, Kairi..." she said. "Just long enough to tell him I love him again."
When he'd come to Radiant Garden, he'd mainly thought to maybe meet up with the famous committee that ran this world, and possibly get to mess about a little with the OS that ran the town's defense system (he figured he might give it an upgrade and maybe update a couple of outdated chains and try out some of the Heartless-identification programs he'd been working on in his spare time). But no, Novi had somehow managed to get himself into the actual castle, the research complex of Ansem the Wise himself - something beyond his wildest dreams.
Even as he walked along the corridors, things leapt out at him from all directions, and he couldn't stop clicking around with his phone, taking pictures, labeling them while writing about everything. How peculiar that a place so esteemed for its scientific research was built with such a neo-baroque architectural taste - maybe despite all of his pressing to bring about the future of science, Ansem was a conventionalist at heart. And the artifacts laid out on display - some of them from the time of the Keyblade War itself, the darkest (and therefore inevitably the most fascinating) period in known history. This was chronicling gold!
And of course, the library, with the most extensive collection of research on hearts and inter-worldly connection theories available on any world, which was just around the corner. Novi could hardly contain his excitement.
What should I do first - I wonder if the library's been re-catalogued? if so, maybe I should copy it down so that I can organise it better on my screen... shame it doesn't have the software to put it into a database yet, I'll need to find the right phone charm for it. Come to think of it, I haven't been looking around for one properly, maybe I should put finding new phone charms higher up on my list of priorities.
As he stepped into the library, his foot passing over that glorious threshold, Novi took in the sight of the shelves of books that surrounded him and a blissful smile melted across his face, a tear leaving his eye at the sheer immensity of the knowledge spread out before his gaze.
'You, my dear, are beautiful,' he said to the room (as crazy as that was).
With a happy little hum (to the tune of the Mickey Mouse Club, not to anyone's particular interest) he danced over to the shelves to find the catalogue so that he could copy it down into his phone. That would take a considerable amount of time - perhaps Ansem had kept an electronic copy of his research, that would be must more efficient. But then again, the most important pieces of information were often found scrawled hurriedly on random bits of paper, which were frequently found in books. He'd have to rifle through some - and where else to start than the 'H' section? Hearts, Heartless, Hats... three of the most fascinating things in the world all in one part of the library.
However, when he found the shelf in question, he was faced with two people - a dark-haired woman (maybe coal-black, he couldn't make it properly in this light) and a girl with auburn hair around his age. He blinked at them, not quite sure what to do (especially as they were standing in front of the shelf he wanted to look at) and so his natural reaction was to say,

I think she’s barking mad…no Kairi bad Kairi dooon’t judge…
While her mind thought one thing, her face remained blank and attentive, then her brows perked with curiosity of the mention of this Esper. She never heard of them or seen them before; her mind automatically accepted that they were just something from another world, the world she came from, but that still didn’t sated the curiosity of what they were precisely to even bring someone back to life.
Despite from her perspective how far-fetched the story was, she couldn’t nitpick it, because she was entirely from a different world, which brought a lot of unknown variables to the table. Without knowing her world, she wouldn’t be able to make sense or understand how this revival was even possible. This put her in the position to write this Rachel as an insane woman or take her word for it.
“I see,” Kairi started as the sun dawned on her; she was doing all of this for someone she loved. Surely Olette would find something like this romantic, but it was also tragic at the same time. For a moment Kairi wondered where he was anyway or did he ended up on some other world. Now Rachael would have to concern herself with staying alive and finding him, “Well how about enjoy this life, while you can…it just sounds unfair to spend much of it worrying, and I’m sure he knows already.”
Kairi ended with optimism, while giving her a friendly nudge, “Hey maybe you should go see the gardens. It’s quite nice out there in the shimmering sun versus worrying yourself piled up on some old books.”
Kairi wondered herself when was the last time she just lived versus worrying about the outside worlds or better yet what lied just outside of Tron’s radar. Lately everyday been a ritual, sneak out to the ravines and train with her keyblade, then return home when she gets tired , hungry, or closed to being ambushed by heartless. In her heart, she knew the trapped hearts shouldn’t have to wait for her convenience, but for a moment, perhaps she can sprinkle her TLC to what’s around her.
Still her fingers poked at books that dealt with hearts, but her mind started to roam to flowers to add to the garden. “Hey do you see any books about hyacinth, ooor do you think I need to go sections of flowers or botany?”
Another voice answered her, but it wasn’t Rachael’s; she turned to see a red-head close to her age staring at her followed by a ludacris question. Who asks such thing in a library; one would think the answer would be obvious beyond measure, “Uuuh the same reason you’re here…”
Rachel laughed. From one very serious conversation to a new, lighthearted one, to this strange exchange. It was funny, and funny was good.
"That's kind of a silly question, isn't it?" she asked. "Why else would someone be in a library, except to find books and possibly check them out and read them?" That said, she took a step towards the young man, smiling and touching her chest, so as to indicate she was talking about herself.
"My name is Rachel," she said, "and I'm here to try and find some hard-to-find information." She felt like, even if this person was a kind and good-natured as Kairi seemed to be, he probably wouldn't be as understanding about her condition. For now, it was best if only she and Kairi knew.
"Actually," Rachel said, turning to look at Kairi, "we just amended our search. We're going to look for something about flowers. Apparently, the gardens are in need of some sprucing up."
Rachel smiled to herself. Her guilty pleasure just so happened to involve flowers. Unwilting them, to be precise. Life magic was funny like that. What could heal the incapacitated ally could also restore wilted flowers.
I wonder if it can unspoil fruits and vegetables as well...
That may have been going a bit too far, and Rachel blinked and laughed again. She was getting ahead of herself.
"But the catalog doesn't seem to have a good track record with helping us today..." Rachel sighed. "I may have to ask one of the people who comes here more often... Or ask if they have an electronic catalog."
Novi registered the presented information. The red-haired girl offered no further intelligence. Disregarded. However, the dark-haired woman was called Rachel. She was looking for some hard-to-find information. Well, considering the fact that they were looking for information about flowers in the H shelf of a section almost completely dedicated to Heart Sciences and World Philosophy (heck, the botany section was on the other side of the library, he could tell from the covers of the books on the way in) he'd be surprised if there was any piece of information in the world which she wouldn't consider 'hard-to-find'. But she had gotten into the library, which most normal people shouldn't have managed (at least, they wouldn't if the correct measures had been taken to restrict access to civilians). This meant that she was, at the very least, not normal.
Novi allowed himself a few moments to piece together the various shards of the scene before him in the frame of his mind, gave up halfway through and said instead, 'Oh... well, I was under the impression that the castle was under restricted access - I mean, considering the years of irreplaceable research, priceless value of the artefacts, and its close connection to the worlds coming close to an end, twice, in the past three years, and the library of all places, within which an immeasurable amount of knowledge is stored...'
'... All of which give me reason to assume that a certain degree of security and restriction would be imposed on the whole area, and certainly would not usually result in the presence of two random... individuals -' (He had been about to say women, but he thought the term inapplicable for two females of such a wide age range - and someone had told him that it was derogatory, despite the simplicity of its truth) '- in the H section of such a highly classified and potentially dangerous library...'
He readjusted his beret and blinked again. '... Am I overthinking things?'

Kairi stared at Novi bewildered about how much he knew about Radiant Garden itself. Generally those who knew about that were people who lived during those ages and survived it like herself and the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee along with Sora, the King, Riku, and those who looked onto this world with ill-intent to unlock its final keyhole roughly three years ago.
Who was this kid anyway to justice that she and Rachael were two random people? If they were random, what was he? Also she wouldn't call herself random, since she technically lived nearby and used this library before at one point. Her arms folded over her chest as her hipped cocked to the side with a tilt of her head, "In that case, what are you doing here in a so called highly classified and potentially dangerous library. I don't see you with a hall pass from teacher either."
Her brows arched with a childish roll of her eyes as she acted with her own hidden humor. Then something dawned on her and frowned, "Are you one of those people who breaks in here and mess around with everything here? Also...how do you know about Radiant Garden...most strangers here don't."
Rachel felt herself inwardly sigh. Things could never just stay normal around here, could they? She placed a hand on Kairi's shoulder and made a small noise clearing her throat.
"Kairi, I don't think he means any harm," she said. "But he is kinda rude..." As she said this, Rachel turned to Novi to give him a half-friendly, half-disapproving look. She was trying to act her age, not that the light and airy atmosphere she'd been surrounded in since her arrival in this world was helping her do it.
"As to your comment on us being random individuals," Rachel said, addressing Novi's earlier comment, "I can't speak for my new friend here, but I've been applying for a Research License for quite some time. The fact that I'm here means I've presented solid reasons for being granted access."
She made an aside glance in the general direction of the shelf where she'd picked up the book in her arms, and laughed nervously. "Not that there was much for me to work with..." She blinked, and then ran a hand through her hair. "So, while we're on the subject of restricted access to the library, how exactly did you get in here. You look younger than she does!" Rachel nodded her head towards Kairi and placed her free hand on her hip.
