In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Arlan had finally finished his training and was proud because this finally meant that he was able to continue on and hopefully get Tilanis back to normal. His Kali Princia, Transmutation, Teleportation, and Tilanis cards were resting safely in his pocket while his deck of 52 was finally complete and randomized in his card dispenser. He was ready and looking for a fight to test his skills. Whether or not he would actually get one was a different story.
He stood on the rooftops of one of the buildings, scoping out the people that stood below, looking for someone that was willing to fight him. His search, however, wasn't going so well. "Kali Princia!" He said as he held out the card. It glowed with a light blue color before splitting in two. The two halves flew to his back and turned into wings of pure energy. He took the skies, but only for a short time as he soon landed on the ground. The wings then returned to their card-like state before returning to his pocket.
He, however, couldn't continue his search as heartless decided to ambush him. "Not exactly the fight I was looking for, but it'll work." He said, reaching into his pocket and pulling another card out. "Transmutation!" He said, throwing the card to the ground. The symbol lit up before a sword appeared out of nowhere, popping out of the card. The card returned to Arlan's pocket as he grabbed the sword and charged at the heartless, striking with ease. More would come, most likely, but Arlan wanted some sort of a fight, and he got it.
[NOTE: Below is my randomized deck. Anyone who joins doesn't exactly need to pay attention to it, but this way you know that it is randomized and I'm not pulling numbers out of my butt. List randomized Here. Throughout the thread, I will also do dice rolls for which card is used. Dice rolls will be done Here.]
Basch fon Ronsenburg of Dalmasca wandered the streets of his impromptu base of operations in Radiant Garden. He had not yet found any trace of his former companions, nor did he have enough people to help run his ship efficiently. He slowly meandered along the shops, stopping every once in a while to purchase some items just to support the small shops, as he would've back at home, too.
Basch absentmindedly found himself in a dead-end alley way, and heard the familiar fliud whooosh! of the appearance of Heartless. Drawing Excalibur, his gold sword, from it's sheathe, he ran forward to find a boy- close to manhood, in terms of years- fighting a group of Heartless with a sword. His technique wasn't perfect, but he knew what he was doing.
Basch called to the boy, "I'll help!" He jumped at a Heartless, which blocked his slash and went to counter. Basch gracefully parried and struck with a flurry at the Heartless, which was hit by all but one of the strokes of his sword. He slahsed once more and whirled around to finish. The injured Shadow slunk back and retreated into Darkness. Basch covered the boy's back.

Arlan continued to swing his sword, conjured up by the power of the cards, before noticing another boy who offered his help against the heartless. Arlan scoffed at the boy before turning back to the soldier before him. A swift strike of the sword was made to the armored head before he spun his sword around and sliced with a backwards strike to the neck. The soldier stumbled backward before being stabbed in the chest by the sword, destroying the black creature. He knew he was going to need some more help, and with that, another card was drawn.
He pulled the Tilanis card from his pocket and called out "Tilanis! With that said, the card was thrown in front of him and the black and white wolf burst forward, a sharp growl released from his mouth as he quickly snapped down on a nearby Shadow. Arlan looked toward the wolf and nodded before quickly slicing toward another soldier. The two were a good team, but Arlan soon wondered how the new man would react toward his wolf's emergence. He only hoped that the man would stick around long enough for him to test his skills against him. He didn't want to use any of his cards on the heartless if he could possibly be fighting the man before him. Tilanis and the sword could handle the heartless for now.
Basch noted the boy's use of cards in combat. Perhaps they were enchanted in some way, or they were some sort of avatar for using his magic. It was an interesting concept, something to inquire about after the fight. However, in the meantime there were enemies to deal with.
Basch, sensing an opportunity, faced away from the boy but still towards a group of Heartless. He used one of his powerful moves, Flash of Steel, to take care of them. He quickly lunged forth, sliding ten feet with his arm outstretched before him and with his sword pointing out. He damaged many Heartless, and several retreated to Darkness. Basch jumped back to his starting position and readied himself to keep fighting. He kept an eye on the boy to see how he'd respond to the knight's move.

Arlan got the chance to look back and see the knight that had come to help him. He wasn't really sure what to think of it, but he was slightly annoyed with how he just came in to start fighting. There weren't many left now as Tilanis launched forward, attacking another one and allowing it to return to the darkness. Arlan threw his sword forward and allowed it to stab the shadow before him. As the shadow disappeared, Arlan picked up the sword.
He then noticed a heartless coming up behind the wolf as he was attacking another one. Sighing, Arlan said "The Luck of the Draw!" With that said, he reached to his card holster and pulled out....
[Dice roll for card. Dice roll done Here. Dice roll between 1-52. Dice result... 12, Card - Illusion. List modified to show the missing card.]
An illusion card. This would help to maximize his force. Sometimes, luck truly helped him out. He held the card up, shouting "Illusion! With that said, the symbol on the cards face lit up before extending off of the card. The blank card was put into Arlan's pocket as 4 more illusionary copies of both Arlan and Tilanis appeared. This also caused the heartless to attack a mere copy of Tilanis, to which it disappeared.
Currently, there was now 5 Arlan figures and 4 Tilanis figures out. The Arlan's smiled as they each went their seperate ways, attacking a heartless of their own. However, as soon as two had initiated their attack, a hidden shadow emerged and hit the real Arlan, causing all the Arlan copies to disappear. He stumbled a bit before finishing his attack on the one he was working on while another Tilanis copy was destroyed after destroying the heartless that attacked Arlan. Now there was just one Arlan and 3 Tilanis figures out. Arlan looked to the knight to see if he could finish off the last two heartless.
Basch was impressed with the boy's ability, what with the illusion. It would be very useful in combat, especially seeing as though it included the boy's summoned wolf. Basch could see that being used on a number of people at once- it would make ten look like fifty, a hundred like five hundred... a million like five million.
Catching the boy's look, Basch nodded. He raised his magnificent sword and sliced one of the remaining Heartless, which retreated after a few more hits. The other was also removed in such a matter. Straightening and sheathing his sword, he turned to and approached the boy. He held out his hand to shake.
"Basch fon Ronsenburg, Knight of Dalmasca of Ivalice. You're quite the fighter," he said.

Arlan looked to the man after he had defeated the final heartless. The town was now quiet once more, and Arlan listened to the introduction that he had given him. He thought about what to say in return to the man, but instead, swung his sword effortlessly at the remaining Tilanis copies, causing the two to disappear, leaving only the real Arlan and Tilanis around the man known as Basch. As he did this, the green light on his card holster lit up, showing that the card effect was done, and he could draw another if needed.
"Call me 'AA'. And thanks... The same could be said for you.He said, thinking 'I guess...' He then looked to Tilanis and nodded. He pulled his card from his pocket and threw it toward Tilanis as the wolf jumped into the card and disappeared. The card flew back to Arlan as he threw the sword into the air and held the Transmutation card up. The sword hit the card and disappeared as well. Arlan looked at the two card and then pocketed them both. He then looked back to Basch, not having returned the handshake. He finally grabbed the hand and lightly shook it, showing his reluctance to connect.
"So what... Just randomly wandering the town? Or do you have a reason for being here?" He asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice. He wanted to just fight the man, test his skills, and get it over with. But for now,he had to figure out how it would work. And for now... He had to talk to the man. Perhaps offer of a fight would soon come, but that would be seen later.
Basch nodded when the boy introduced himself with such an anonymous name. Either he seriously had reason to remain discreet, or he had some personal problems which Basch was sure he could live without. Nonetheless, he'd be sure to mind his manners. However, he nearly had to bite his tongue when 'AA' asked- rather rudely- why he was there. As though he shouldn't have been.
"Wandering, I suppose. What about you?" he replied in lieu of drawing his sword. That would've been his action if he were younger, but he was more mature now- he knew to remain respectful. That way, no one could accuse him of anything.

A slight, devious smile appeared on Arlan's face as he was asked what he was doing as well. Should he give the true answer of looking for a fight, make up a random excuse, or just draw a card and unleash fury upon the knight? He figured he'd tell the man the truth. He'd warrented that much, and besides... If he said he was looking for someone to fight with, he may just get his wish with this man.
"Nothing much... Just looking for a fight. Those heartless are wimps and boring. I'm looking for someone stronger to fight. Someone who will allow me to test my skills to the fulllest, and hopefully... Finally use this..." He said as he patted the giant card that hung from his back. He had yet to be able to use it, and was unsure of what it would do. Before Tilanis was permanently made a wolf, he told him of some research he did on Limit moves, and that they were powerful moves that required specific conditions to be met before they could be used. Arlan wasn't sure, but he figured this was probably his Limit move.
So he looked to Basch, and wondered what was going on in his mind. He had the appearance of a knight, and the name to go along with it. But what was his story? People don't just walk around aimlessly, not having a purpose... He had to be doing something OTHER then just 'Wandering' And Arlan hoped that he'd be able to figure out exactly what that other thing is. If he couldn't fight, then he would pry. Simple as that.
So, testing out a weapon. Basch could relate. He loved the feeling of practicing with a new sword. The boy didn't seem to be lying at all, and Basch was itching for a fight himself. He hadn't sparred against a person for quite some time. The Heartless were rather easily beaten, even if they came in numbers. A person was different, since they could take more damage.
"Perhaps I could help you with that," he replied, catching Arlan's drift. He drew his great, white-and-gold sword and stepped back until he was at least ten feet from the boy. He wasn't one to beat around the bush with small talk. He waited for Arlan to make the first move.

Arlan continued his devious smile as he jumped back. He pulled out his Tilanis and Transmutations cards. He flung the Tilanis card to the side and the Transmutation card in front of him. "Tilanis! Transmutation!" He yelled as Tilanis burst forward from his card while the sword launched from the Transmutation card. Arlan grabbed the sword and faced Basch. He knew that this man had a great skill with the sword, so he would have to be careful with that.
He quickly flicked his sword before rushing forward to strike Basch. A quick growl was sent to Tilanis as he told him to attack. Arlan enjoyed being able to communicate with Tilanis with no one else knowing what he was saying. Tilanis jumped forward, growling at Basch. What was the best thing about have Tilanis? How much he would be used as a distraction when Arlan was grabbing a card. But he wanted to see a little bit more of the man's sword skills first. Thats why he was only attacking with his sword to start with.
Basch was quick to react to the animal. He held up his sword, flat of the blade out, to defend against the wolf. He wanted to strike it, but he was unsure of exactly how the summon (or whatever it was) worked- would he injure the wolf mortally, or would it be dismissed to recuperate. He didn't want to make a mistake, so he tried to stay safe.
As soon as the wolf was on him, he blocked it's path any further with his sword and kicked out at it with his left leg. As soon as he was in a balanced stance, he realized that he had the boy coming at him as well. He was hardly able to get ready before AA was upon him. He parried with his sword, jarring his arm in the process. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to get a good hit in, he jumped back to get ready for the next attack.

Arlan smiled as he stopped Tilanis and then his own sword. The man knew his way with a sword, but Arlan could tell he wasn't entirely sure what to make of the summon of Tilanis. Whether or not he would realize it was yet to be seen, but Tilanis was a real wolf whose spirit was captured by the card when he wasn't out here. But how was Basch supposed to know that? His opponent jumped back, readying himself for another attack. Tilanis quickly swooped around Basch, trying to get behind him in the means of a distraction. Meanwhile, Arlan's hand went to the card holster. More practice for him.
[Dice roll made. Dice roll from 1-52. Result... Number 40, Card... Energy]
"The luck of the draw! Energy!" He said as he pulled the card from the holster and looked at it. He held it above him as the symbol lit up before turning into an orb of purple energy. The blank card returned to his pocket as he held his hand up, controlling the purple ball of energy and transforming it into another sword. Now he had one in both hands. He smiled as he charged toward Basch with the twin swords. Tilanis on the other hand would run from behind. Arlan had one sword primarily for attacking, and the other for defense. But he wouldn't have them both for long. The energy only lasted for a few moments. What was Basch's next move?
Basch, now fully in his battle state of mind, was thinking like a real fighter and a knight. As the wolf came around behind him, Basch was sure that the boy would attack him from behind. In response, Basch used one of his few spells, Protect. It took a few seconds to charge, but he had time as his foes attempted their strategies.
After holding his hand to his chest for a moment, he waved it in front of him, creating a glowing circle upright in the air in front of him. It had a complicated pattern on it, but it glowed brightly for a second, as did the area immediately around Basch, then the knight himself. The circle disappeared.
Soon enough, he was protected. He didn't have to worry about much but minor damage from the wold while he set his sword on Arlan. As the boy ran toward him, Basch took the attack on his torso easily, slicing several times in quick succession at him, trying to hit him well.
Cloud sighed as he walked through the streets of Radiant Garden all he had been doing today was fighting off heartless along with Leon, though they went their seperate ways most of the time and usually ended up meeting eachother at some point. For once Cloud was looking for a good opponent since he had nothing better to do at the moment, what better thing to do than test his skills not that he needed to though, rather he was looking for something to pass the time.
As he walked he could hear sounds of blades clashing and heartless dissapearing, a mild smile appeared on his face maybe he wouldn't spend the day bored after all. Cloud followed the sound of the fight when he got there, he noticed two people were fighting eachother he scanned them with his mako coloured eyes and read their battle style. It seemed that they both used swords and he noticed that the one with silver hair had a card holster. Interesting... Cloud thought it appeared that this boy could use the magic of cards to attack his opponent.
He drew The First Tsurugi holding it in his right hand he walked closer to them as he approached he rested his sword on his shoulder, ready for battle. "Sorry to interupt but your fighting me now..." Cloud spoke loud enough for them to hear him, then he dashed towards the knight who was slashing at the card user and blocked his slashes with The First Tsurugi holding the handle back-hand so his free hand was ready to cast a Firaga spell at the card user.
