In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

When Saxen heard Splodyhead bark, he got down on his knee and asked "What's up dude? I'm just going to see if they need any help. Come on." Then, he followed Rourke until he got his orders. He was impressed with Vinny and his explosives. Saxen made a mental note of him. Then, he went on to open the pods. "Here, I'll take another pod, you can take that one," he said to the other man that had come in on the dragon. Then, he called for Splodyhead to open one right next to the one he was working at. "Be careful in case of survivors," he told his little companion as he cut into his pod with a blade he formed on his left arm. Then, he helped out two men that were mostly just disoriented, probably due to head injury. They also had several bruises. He told them to sit down and went over to possibly attend to survivors of Splodyhead's pod. When he heard a girl call for a medic, it caught his attention, but only briefly. He didn't even know basic "Cure" magic. He felt bad about his inability to help, but there was no way to help it.

[NOTE: AS this is a new round, it will end on January 13th, or sooner if everyone gets a post done before then]
Cookie

Cookie grabbed the straps on his suspenders and pulled them out slightly, right before the explosion that Vinny caused happened. But when it happened, he jumped slightly "Oh no, now they're firin' at us. Take cover everyone!" A slight pause came before he noticed it was Vinny. "Oh.... Just Vinny. False alarm!" He said as he went back to digging through the wreckage. There had to be some more lard and bacon to use here. As he looked through, he noticed a box full of all sorts of spices and other such cookware.
Grumbling a bit, Cookie said "Blondie done packed the non-essentials anyway. I done told her we didn't need no cilantro or..." with a shudder, he continued "Lettuce. This is probably the reason we done crashed on this strange little planet." He finished, going back to digging through the small pod that he was in, throwing bottles of spices out. "Don't need this... Or this... Or this. This is useless." Following that, a small disgusted sound came out of Cookie's mouth "Confounded lettuce got in my mouth." He quickly chucked it behind him, wondering if he was hitting anyone in the process. "Found another pack of bacon!" He shouted, still digging through without much else to do.
Arlan

Arlan slowly entered the area, Tilanis following behind him. He worried for what was going on here and knew that Tilanis would be needed here. As he ran into the area, he saw Rose near a pod, trying to help out. Bypassing everything else, he heard Rose call for a healer. Laughing slightly, Arlan said "We have got to stop running into each other like this. Need a healer?" He said, knowing that she would probably remember him healing himself from the cut he had gotten on his hand before.
He looked around the crash site, wondering what exactly had happened. He worried that things were going to take a turn for the worst and they weren't going to find many people. But they had to try and find as many as possible. If they couldn't find people soon, this was not going to be a good time. He looked to the man who seemed to be giving the orders and figured he was in charge, which meant that this was his ship. Wondering where they were going and what caused them to crash, Arlan started to get inside the pod to find the one that was alive, trying not to step on any bodies in the process.
He finally found the one that was injured. He seemed to be pinned down by a piece of metal. Climbing in a bit more, he grabbed the piece of metal to start pulling it off. The man winced in pain, but Arlan knew that he needed to do this. He finally got the metal off of him and carefully lifted him, having a bit of trouble, but thats where Tilanis came in. He quickly moved underneath the man and carried a lot of the weight as the two carried him out. Arlan then raised his hand and said "Cura!" His hand lowered to the man's chest, healing most of his wounds, allowing him to at least breathe easier. He looked to Rose and said "Next?"
Basch nodded at Rourke's orders and went to one of the more distant pods. After entering, he found most of them alive. They were all injured, of course, but he had to help. One by one, he either helped them walk or carried them out. It was obvious that they were in no condition to do much of anything, from several broken ribs to ruptured organs. Most of them couldn't walk, so that was a more obvious issue.
As it happened, there appeared a healer- one which he knew. The one who had introduced himself as AA. He didn't bother getting his attention yet, as he had someone to attend to, but he made sure to make it known that they were in need of healing.
Atlantace nodded and started walking over to open the pod that Rourke had asked him to assist with. He paused, but continued walking, seeing that the red head had found a medic already. Damn, this is a messy sight... Bloodbane, if you see any pods that have some signs of life within them, let me know. Be careful though. The way their commander looked at you... I'm sure he's glad we're on his side.
Bloodbane laughed lightly. Hah... I have faith in your theory. I have found two pods already, and I will start moving them to your location, carefully. I'm sure their contents will be useful for the survivors, even if they turn out to only contain remains. Their technology is very interesting, to say the least.
Aye...it is.
Atlantace paused, raising his voice so Rourke would hear; "My companion has found two more pods. He cannot assess the condition of life within them, but is bringing them over soon. They are quite a distance away."
With that, Atlantace trotted over to the pod next to the metal warrior and the strange four legged creature. His curiosity would have to wait, however, as he examined the pod in front of him. It had landed in a manner that it's hatch was against the ground. He crouched down and focused, hearing sounds coming from within. There was a call for help, accompanied by a louder thud against the wall, and then everything was quiet.
Atlantace looked at the pod again, trying to figure out a way to access the hatch. Pushing up against it, the dragon knight realized that the massive pod would be difficult to move, not alone roll. Walking around to the backside, he noticed that there was a small space between the floor of the small crater left by the pod and the pod itself. focusing his magical energies, Atlantace called upon the power of Ice. "Freeze and expand, Blizzara!"
As the ice magic filled the gap, it expanded, acting like a wedge under the pod, which shifted and started to slide. Once the hatch was clear, Atlantace stopped the magic and opened the hatch, quickly stepping out of the way as a spluttering human fell out.
Atlantace caught him and carried the man to safety, and made sure he was allright before entering the pod himself. The dim light of the interior lights revealed several more soldiers sprawled on the floor. A quick check of their vital signs revealed that two were dead, two were mostly dead, and three more were unconscious.
Reaching into his pouch, Atlantace pulled out a large bottle filled with green liquid, with an X on the cap. It was an X-potion, and the dragon knight uncorked it and poured an equal amount into each of the three unconscious soldiers' open mouths. Re-corking the bottle and returning it to his pouch, Atlantace began to bring the three soldiers out, one by one. He carried the first one and set him next to the man who'd fallen out of the pod, doing the same with the second one, and only supporting the third, who was healthy enough to stand, albeit with difficulty. Atlantace made sure they were alright, and then wiped the sweat off his brow.
I'll be there soon, little brother. I have one of the pods, safe. The other one was consumed by darkness as I approached. Be wary.
Thank you for the warning, and you be wary as well. There are some Heartless that would be able to defeat the two of us, even.
Bloodbane chuckled back, and Atlantace walked over to where Rourke was. "Four more survivors , but also four dead. Also, be careful-" Atlantace lowered his voice. "there may be monsters within these pods."
After Atlantace spoke, he scanned the sky, waiting for Bloodbane to return with the pod he had carried to safety, hoping there would be more survivors within it.
"Yes Commander" was all that Vinny replied to Rourke's order as he climbed on top of an escape pod and started to help out the other soldiers and members of the crew. He paid less attention to the younger strangers that had rushed in to help them. But noticed them darting away to different escape pods in the near vicinity from the corner of his eyes.
And from those corners he saw interesting and downright amazing things. A large dragon like figure was flying overhead that seemed to have a connection with a young man dressed in armor like a knight. Who could make ice grow out of thin air, strong enough to lift up an escape pod.
At another pod, where the redheaded girl had run off to. She managed to open it and retrieve the poor man stuck inside. But he wasn't sure he saw that right, did her shadow move strangely? It was probably just a trick his mind played on him. She was joined by a short guy with medium Length white hair. This person however miraculously healed the soldier just by touching him and shining a strange green light. Very different from how doctor Sweet usually treats his patiënts.
Then the young boy with the Shaggy gray-blond hair formed a blade of sort from his arm that he used to cut open an different escape pod. Vinny wondered if this person was really a human. Then again, judging by the strange crystalic place they found themselves in, he wondered if he was dreaming, or hallucinating.
There seemed to be only one normal person running around and that was the only real adult looking one. Despite the armor and medieval weaponry he was equipped with.
However the situation was as he feared it would be. Not many survived and from those that did, many were injured. Cookie was scrounging through the junk. Probably trying to find the food supply or what's left of it. Vinny gave the Commander a meaningful look. Others wouldn't be able to tell the difference from his normal glare. But Rourke who he had served with and knew for so long, he would recognize it. The loss of men meant the expedition was in jeopardy.
The Dark skinned boy looked up as a huge shadow passed over the sun. He wondered how he hadn't noticed it before, it was absolutely massive and although not very loud for its size.
Ravian then breathed a sigh of relief as Saxen got sent away with some little ugly dog. That would make things easier. Though he was surprised as the apparent leader of this group gave him orders. Of course he would follow them but he just wasn't used to being told what to do. Usually any order he got was something around "Stop thief" and the like.
He ran up to the strange man who (as seen earlier) was apparently good with explosives and started helping men down from the pod as they were taken out. He wondered how many of the pods there were. He had seen quite a bit of the ravine from higher up but now he was on level with the giant machines and couldn't see very far and the smoke was not helping. He looked up at the soot covered man "So, I'm Ravian whats your name " said with a weak smile.
Rourke nodded solemnly as he saw the look Vinny gave. He knew the Italian demolitions expert well, and he could read Vinny's thoughts in that look just as well as if they had been spelled out in a book. He was worried about their current situation. Rourke would be lying to himself if he didnt' admit that he was worried himself. It did no good to sit there feeling sorry for themselves, however, and so Rourke moved off to the main wreckage of the ship, where several survivors who had made it from their pods all by themselves, unharmed, were beginning to sift through the debris, searching for anyone who may have survived the crash.
They worked for a long time, many other people from nearby showed up in that time to help the survivors of the crash. After so long, they had saved everyone who could be saved. Rourke stood around, looking out at the crowds of people, both locals and his own men, who were milling about to get things done. Rourke had learned that the majority of his men had survived, just over two hundred out of the three hundred men they had started with. Still, losing nearly one hundred hands was going to make things difficult, not to mention the letters and visits he'd have to make to the dead mens' families.
Rourke looked up a t the sky, noting the darkening sky. it would be night soon. They would have to find shelter. That would be a problem, since nearly everything they had brought along with them was destroyed with the ship.
Basch was eventually able to administer medical attention to the injured men, but he knew that they were only temporary. Not to mention, the sun was soon to set and there were a lot of people with nowhere to go. Well, not nowhere, per se...
Approaching the leader, Rourke, Basch gave a suggestion. "Mr. Rourke, your men are mostly injured and there's not much room in town for them to stay. However, I have anair- I mean, a Gummi ship of my own which can hold-" he did a mental calculation- "around twenty men, comfortably. Thirty if comfort isn't a factor. I offer it as temporary housing until you are set up to... do whatever it is you're here for. However, I must say that it won't be able to run very well with these people in it, but it should work as a shelter, for now."
"Thanks Arlan." Rose closed her eyes for a moment, and mentally turned off her compassion. It wouldn't do her any good to get sad about the dead people. She opened her eyes, and her shadow cocked its head. Halen was confused. His mistress had been happy and sad forjust a moment, but now she felt more like a Nobody. He knew that happy was good, so why stop being happy? Of course Halen had no compassion, so he couldn't care less about the pod full of bodies. Rose, however, was trying very hard to surpress some very dark memories. She succeeded, and made her face neutral. "We should go talk to that older guy over there. He seems to be the one in charge." She walked over to Rourke. "Hi, I'm Rose. I'm pretty good with tech, so I can help you if you need it."

Cookie "The Unusual Chef"
A sigh escaped the chef's mouth as he climbed out of the pod with a box filled with items. He seemed completely unaware of what was going on around him until he finally got out of the metal pile and looked at the injured soldiers. He set the box down and scowled a bit "Look at you... Whining like this lil bone here is necessary? Why, when I was yer age, I used to pop that bone in an' out jus' fer the fun of it." He then grabbed the man's arm who's bone was sticking out and pushed on it hard. The man yelled in pain as it seemingly made it worse. "Huh... Maybe it is broke... Commander! You want me to start on the grub? I'm sure a gooood batch of my cookin' is all these men need to get back on their feet..." He said, completely ignoring the man he had just hurt once more.
Arlan Ashteran "The Lucky Swordsman"
Arlan finished his healing of the men near Rose and even went around to healing others, nodding at the thanks to him. He could feel his energy draining slowly as he kept using his Cura spell. But eventually him, along with others with more... normal forms of healing, through the use of first aid kits and the like, had managed to heal most of the people that were absolutely critical. As he followed Basch and Rose to where the man in charge, known only to Arlan as "Commander", he watched the man who held the box of food try to "help" a man with a broken bone. Obviously one that Arlan had missed. The cry of pain pierced Arlan's ears as he also heard a whimper from Tilanis who was following him.
He stepped forward and placed his hands on the man, stating the word "Cura!" A green light came from his hand as he caused the bone to pop back in place, and healed the wound on his skin from the where the bone had popped out. He then let go of the man as he thanked him, no longer feeling as much pain as before as he also glared at Cookie. He continued to walk up to the Commander, wondering what to say. Rose knew Arlan as "Arlan", but Basch knew him as his alias of "AA". Then again, after his last fight where he worked with Basch, he realized that he didn't need to hide it anymore.
"And I am Arlan Ashteran..." A quick glance to Basch tried to show him that was where 'AA' came frome. ... And I am a great form of offense with some slight healing ability. This is my companion, Tilanis. He's a wolf completely under my control. He doesn't attack without me saying so." He said as he offered a very slight bow to the Commander when introducing himself, and a gesture to Tilanis when he mentioned him. In the wolf speak, Tilanis said to Arlan "I don't like this, A... I have a bad feeling about these people." Arlan turned to his wolf, and growled back, speaking as a wolf. "I know, T... But we won't be able to figure it out unless we talk to them." He said. Tilanis growled an agreement back before Arlan turned back to face Rourke. Something was up, and Arlan needed to know what.
Atlantace aided several more soldiers out of the pod that Bloodbane had carried, assuring them that they were alright, and pointing the way towards their commander. None were terribly injured, but they had been quite frightened of Bloodbane.
The immense Dragon landed gracefully, and a low rumble came from him. Atlantace nodded. Yeah, I think they'd be better off in the city limits, where they will at least get protection from the claymores.
Also, if they need, I can bring the larger husks over for them, as to create a sort of shelter, or main base area. You will have to talk to their commander for me, little brother.
Atlantace nodded, and walked over to where the Commander was. He made it over in time to hear everyone introducing themselves. So, the guy with the wolf is Arlan, and Tilanis. They seem to share a mental bond like ours. Then, the guy in the armor plate, his name hasn't been stated yet. Also, the girl... she has a heartless companion. Odd, but doesn't seem to be much of a threat. Her name is Rose, and apparently she's a mechanic or something.
Atlantace, after everyone else was finished, added his own two sense. "If you would like, Commander, my companion, Bloodbane," Atlantace indicated the great dragon that was standing amongst the wreckage, and Bloodbane inclined his head. "Would be able to move the larger husks of your ship into close enough proximity of the town that you would benefit from the Claymores, a built in city defense system. You would still need some guards, as the system isn't perfect, but it would allow you to set up a camp, and allow easier access to the city itself. Also, I have heard of a master mechanic who lives within the city. Apparently, he can build any kind of ship, from air-worthy to space worthy."
Atlantace gave the commander a gentleman's bow. "By the way, My name is Atlantace."
((I find it funny.... Atlantace might go to Atlantis... )) From quite some distance away, on a small house on the edge of town, there was a large bird, perched on the peak of the roof. passerby, if there were any would take note; it was rare to see such a large owl in radiant garden. However, Merlin's house was on the edge of the city for a reason: it was much, much quieter.
However, the owl seemed to be gazing in the direction of the crash site, and in fact, the magical bird was none other than Archimedes, Old friend of an old wizard. He was, with magical help, focused in on and observing the crash site. "Hmmm, very interesting... I'll goooh and tell merlin, at whooonce!" Unfurling his great wings, Archimedes flew into an open window of the house, which closed behind him. Within the house, Archimedes activated the portal to Traverse Town, and flew through to Merlin's other home.
(OOC: ok euh, new round. This one will finish on the 26th )
Vinny was taking care of the men, helping them out of the pods and directing them to form groups of their own who carried on with the salvage operation. He frowned a bit as the dark skinned boy came next to him to assist and started a conversation.
In his normal unjoyous tone, Vinny then said: "Look kid, no offense. I appreciate that your helping but I'm not looking for a friend. Name's Vinny if you must know. But kids like you shouldn't be playing out here. It's to dangerous and if something happens then nobody would help you. Well I'm sure some would but before they get here it would be to late. "
With the pod empty, Vinny jumped off and saw to it that the rest of the crew was taking care off. A small group had build a makeshift sled to transport whatever supplies and goods that they manage to salvage. A couple of rations, equipment and guns and ammo. The latter two got quickly covered up by a sail to shield it from prying eyes. The men were ready to move out of this empty canyon.
Looking back up at Ravian, Vinny inhaled once more on his cigarette. Enjoying the flavor before calling him off the pod: "Ok Ravian, lets go see the Commander ok. It seems all your friends are doing the same." Calmly the demolitions expert joined Rourke once again and overheard the inhabitants of this world introducing themselves and offering solutions to their problems. Taking his smoke out of his mouth Vinny added: "The town sounds nice, commander. You know, warm fireplaces, blankets, hot cappuccino and mints on the pillows... little ones. If others crashed here they are probably also there by now."
After speaking his mind, the Italian simply placed his cigarette back into his mouth and continued inhaling the nicotine filled smoke. As the paper burned and glowed red while the tip of ash increased in size till a chunk of it fell off. The ash dispersing before it landed on the ground.
Ravian had been starting to think that the guy wouldn't talk to him but then. "Look kid, no offense. I appreciate that your helping but I'm not looking for a friend. Name's Vinny if you must know. But kids like you shouldn't be playing out here. It's to dangerous and if something happens then nobody would help you. Well I'm sure some would but before they get here it would be to late. "
Well wasn't this guy nice, saying no offence didn't make it any less insulting. After some mumbling about how he could handle himself and that it if anyone should be careful it was the new guys who were stupid enough to crash into one of the more dangerous areas.
He was starting dislike "Vinny". His bluntness was not a good trait. It was irritating and stupid.
"Ok Ravian, lets go see the Commander ok. It seems all your friends are doing the same."
Ravian shook his head as the smoke from Vinny's cigarette found its way into Ravian's nose. As he followed Vinny to the sled he decided to comment on it.
"You shouldn't smoke it's unhealthy....you have munny?"
