In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Oh no there is no kingdom in this world. Like I said, world destruction is becoming a trend, and my kingdom has been long gone with it hence my arrival here and living in an inn," she took a break sipping her tea before continuing, "there isn't a heirarchy here just a community of people whether they are born and raised here, or like you and I."
"The same may be occuring with other worlds, an income of foreigners; yes it thickens the community, but with more people it attract more heartless, the Shadow Spawned you refer to." It was as if every action the heartless made builds up for the better...for them. The more worlds they destroy the left overs just pile up on other worlds for heartless to seek out and feed on.
Again with the world thing... There are many pieces in this puzzle. Ari began to rub his temples with his fingers.
"Forgive me, but I have no idea what you mean. You call this town a world, you talk about other worlds being destroyed and call it a trend, as if it has become commonplace, and I... I just don't understand."

"Then let me clarify," the left leg crossed over the right, while her elbows propped on the arms of the chair for her fingers can lace within eachother. Might as well make herself comfortable, since this may take a while,"Although it is called Traverse Town, it is a place of its own, a world itself."
With a gentle blow, a cool wind of flakes funnel and solidified into a small model of Traverse Town; next to it another spherical frosted ice globe was formed, "Now you are from a different world Taizel correct? Naturally enough if there are two worlds existing, then there can easily be more...which there are."
With a snap of her fingers more small icey models of worlds formed on the tea table, and they all resembled places her wards have been to, "Now with life being a sensitive thing, connected from one thing to another, a network, is it really coincidental that you will find Shadow Spawned, or Heartless, here as well as them nesting where you're from? After all, there are no such thing of coincidences just connected history."
"It wouldn't surprise me if you have questions, so ask away."
Ari watched as Jadis formed a free floating town out of snow. It was it's own world... Nothing beyond the outer walls but the coldness of space. There was very powerful magic involved here. "Why wouldn't the world from the outside look the same as the world from the inside? What magic makes this so? And, my world was a full sized planet, not just the town of Taizel. Why not this one? Why is it just a fragment?" Ari stood, and began pacing, seemingly talking to himself very quickly as he tried to wrap his mind around an apparent paradox. "This world is a fragment, and so are the others there. What kind of magical cataclysm would shatter so many worlds, yet leave behind fully functional fragments? And why don't the fragments look the same from the outside as they do from the inside?" He stopped pacing, as a realization struck him. "Perhaps the Shadow Spawned, these heartless, had something to do with it. Jadis, a question: what exactly is a Heartless?" The scholar in Ari was becoming excited with the chance to study something that was not only brand new to him, but had seemingly never been questioned.

"Before you get overly excited not all worlds are like that. Some worlds may have one town and unifying nation; some have many regions. Yes historical influences had caused it, but that predates eons ago leaving such questions of global origins hard to reach. Unfortunately global origins isn't point or problem; preseveration...is an entire different story," Jadis replied watching him pace around; there was no reason to think and rake one's brain on the past when there was a problematic present matter at hand. This is one of the reasons why Jadis never rebuilt or restructure her kingdom; the worlds were too unstable with oncoming and ongoing threats.
In the meantime, she just let him wandered and roamed in his theories as she lounged in her chair, while waiting for a more solidify singular consistent question rather than a stream of thoughts building to another than another. A brow quirked at his question, So he finally made up his mind
"Heartless are an embodiment of darkness that can be found within nearly everyone hence heartless at one point had humanity, but are now instinctual beings attracted by hearts. Hearts are what some heartless lack, the natural born; with heartless they gain power and repopulate; it can be ironic that they are lurred to what made them humane as if they try to seek it back," she decided to not go down that road, since a scholar will pick up anything and run with it, "Continuing, they feed off of hearts, the heartless of people and worlds. Taking those hearts come consequences such as: more heartless or a lost rottened shattered world. Unfortunately recent destroyed worlds aren't functioning fragments, but just mere pieces floating in space."
"If it took years for this world to be what it was, then it will be a long time before mere fragments can restore and rebirth."
"Not to be rude, Lady Jadis, but when trying to break a pattern, knowledge of the past is absolutely essential. If the pattern is one of death and destruction, then then knowing how the pattern began is key to bringing about rebirth." Ari sat on the floor, no longer paying attention to politeness. He took out his book, and began muttering in the ancient language. The pages began to turn, and soon it came upon his records of the rise of the darkness in his world. "I would bet my life that this destruction began with the actions of a small group of people. My world was destroyed when three students at the Draken temple began conducting forbidden experiments with Darkness. They were consumed and changed by these experiments, and became the leaders of an army of Shadow Spawned. They had sought the core of our world, and when they found it..." His voice trailed off as the restraining spell on his memories broke. He watched the darkness sweep across sky and ground, and tears came to his eyes. He closed his book. When he spoke his voice shook. "I apologize... I am at heart a reaseacher. I tend to go into my own little realm...

"Thats is true, but if you go to far into the past you loose sight of the present, which in turn loose sight of the future. Also one doesn't need to look so far with a pattern not in this circumstance," after all obsessive behavior is the root of many vices whether it manifests to pride, greed, gluttony, lust, and so on.
Vices could explain many wrong conditions; even the researchers who had opened the door to this mayhem had their own that fueled them to disasters. The things that occur when one persue out of knowledge; perhaps there was a truth in the cliche of 'what you don't know can't harm you', especially if there wasn't a spark of curiousity to set the ball in motion. Despite how powerful knowledge is, it's full blown effect depends on how it is used.
"You are not the first and certainly won't be the last," Jadis clarified, "still the mess of three people can affect an entire society...even a world leaving others to clean up afterwards for the sake of the whole."
Ari stood up slowly, and closed his book. "I suppose you are correct, madam. I should focus on the present for now. The past can wait. Now, I would rather like to get some sleep." His head was pounding, and Ari suddenly felt extremely tired.

"Ah yes, you have been through enough for one day. We can have more questions questions once you're fulling rested," Jadis lifted a gold key with a red handle, "you would need this. This unlocks the next door room, the red room. You can stay in there for the time being."
