In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Merlin nodded, listening to Marluxia. He was slightly doubtful, though, and had come to the conclusion that the graceful assassin had come to; Does this beast know me?
Not wanting to waste a second, or allow the King Salamand time to prevent the others from escaping, Merlin summoned his magic again. His eyes squinted for a moment, and the top of his staff glowed a stark white- not the holy color, but more of a sterile, artificial, white. The glow became a blinding white light, and Merlin raised it up to the sky, as if offering to a deity.
As the glow dissipated, the king Salamand laughed, swaying back and forth, whipping his tail back and forth. "HA! your magic failed, old fool!" As the monstrous beast spoke, its eyes glowed white, and its grin widened. The monster felt the draining effect of the flower seeds, but had a plan in store- the worms before him will be very surprised, if they survive that long!
Merlin smiled, brandishing his sword. "If you are so confident, then why do you not stir to strike us?" The beast narrowed its eyes, and started to slither closer to Merlin and Marluxia. Just outside of weapon reach, the slither sprung into a lunge, and the Salamand flew at the pair of defenders, swiping wildly with the immense arms, claws steeped in darkness. One of the claw swipes connected with Merlin, sending him flying into the pod behind him, where he slid down the side, winded. This produced a roar of triumph, mixed with anguish, coming from the beast, as it retreated.
Sticking out of the creature's back was Merlin's short sword, with the hilt buried into the creature's armpit. Dark blood dripped from the wound, and the beast narrowed its eyes, enraged. Merlin, still up against the pod, wiped a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth, looked at it, and coughed, smiling. His left hand was tightly clutching his side, where there was a small dark stain. The claw attack had ripped through the magical robes, but just barely, and the robes had already repaired themselves. Damn... that was a darkness attack. I can feel it, spreading like poison. But I don't have enough mana to cure myself... not with the spell I just cast...
Merlin growled, internally directing his body to stop the spread. the wound itself was slightly deeper than a scratch, so he wouldn't die from blood loss, but if he didn't cure himself, the darkness would only continue to numb his body. The staff in his right hand glowed with a soft green light, which transferred to Merlin's body. It was a very minor cure, cast by the staff. Nodding, Merlin directed the power to the wound area, where it would be the most effective. Slowly, Merlin got back up to his feet, swayed slightly, still holding his side, but he shook his head and re-joined the fight.
In the meantime, King Salamand turned it's attention to Marluxia. "Your turn..." It said with a wicked smile. There was a small tendril of the strength sapping plant that extended about the creatures skin, like a tendril of vine starting to grow in a rock face. It was ignored by the great beast. The creature's long, whip-like tail was swishing back and forth as it sized up the Graceful Assassin. The eyes glowed a bright orange, and King Salamand Inhaled deeply, then lunged forward; striking with lowered horns, and clawing with the great arms at the same time, with a similar, strength sapping, darkness enveloping the tips of the claws and the horns.
In case the crafty nobody dodged the charging attack, the black whip of a tail was swung around, faster than the normal eye could track, in a deceivingly normal manner- aiming and ready for any of the Nobody's dodging maneuvers.
As the King Salamand attacked Marluxia, Merlin's eyes briefly turned to the sky. A brief glimmer up in the heavens allowed him to return his attention to the battle, just in time to warn his battel companion; "Marluxia, watch out for the tail!"
(*Sigh* i guess I'll clean the mess up by myself..)
Merlin felt the hairs raise on the back of his neck, and smirked. The darkness wound within his body had stopped spreading thanks to the cure magic from his staff, but the wound itself still hurt. However, the battle was over. King Salamand, while busy with Marluxia, didn't notice the old man silently cover himself with a shield, until the shield also spread across the Assassin nobody.
As the King Salamand looked back toward Merlin, a space rock slightly bigger than one of the escape pods came hurtling towards him. "Ha! Such a thing cannot destroy-" His statement was ended by the large rock completely crushing him in a crater, a ten foot deep crater that was twenty feet wide. The resounding shock wave bounced all over the second district, breaking glass and strongly buffeting the two Shielded beings. As the shockwave and the tremors died down, Merlin released the shield, which glowed and dissipated into a white glow, returning to Merlin. The space rock did the same, glowing and bursting into a white, glowing dust-like substance, which flew to Merlin, who also began to glow.
Inwardly, Merlin felt the infusion of magical energy healing him and restoring his energy stores. The staff in the old magician's hand also returned to it's normal glow.
Taking his hand off of his side, the wizard wiped the trickle of blood off of his mouth and snapped his fingers. The sword that had been buried in the monster's armpit suddenly flew into Merlin's hand, where he returned it to it's scabbard. His robes returned to normal, and he smiled at Marluxia. "Let's go see how everyone is doing, shall we?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he walked toward the third district. "You go on ahead to the first district: I'm gonna purge the third district if they need my help, and you don't want to get caught in that blast- It'll destroy you."
Without further ado, Merlin walked off into the third district.
The Assassin only watched as the Heartless was crushed beneath the meteor that fell from the sky. The shockwave made from the attack made Marluxia falter slightly and he eyed Merlin quickly. "To think a frail old man wields such power. Tch, even that power must have limits."[/i] he thought to himself as he walked over to the crater and jumped in. As he walked over the scorched ground a glimmer of green and black followed him as he made his way to the center, once he knelt down and placed an open palm on the ground the glimmer faded and several roots wormed their way out of the soil.
Marluxia had every intention of harvesting the power that was sapped from the creature and use it for himself. The Assassin brought his hand off the soil and into the air and as he did the same glimmer of green and black seemed to flow into the Nobody. It only lasted a few seconds but the energy he felt afterwards was unreal. Could such Heartless aside from the XII actually exist? Marluxia pushed the thought out of his head as he made his way to the First District.
