In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

(Round ends 30th)
Helga;;
Sprinting down the winding alleys of the Second District with a dark acolyte and her fellow employees following behind her, Helga halted once meeting a tall door. Not wasting time with heartless probably following behind them in hot pursuit after leaving Merlin and Marluxia behind with a problematic monstrosity, she kicked the door wide open emitting a loud boom when they hit the walls.
The Third District seemed well lit compared to the Second District, and luckily everything seemed pleasant there wasn't any heartless in sight. She glanced around for a place to go, and with her memory, she knew the First District location was just behind the Second, and with this district causing her to turn back north, it shouldn't be too far. Her brows narrowed from her calculative thinking as noises from below caught her attention. Walking up the edge of the upper floor balcony, she looked down to see another courtyard with a smaller fountain. It was smothered with heartless, and in the mist of battle, there was a crashed pod.
"People were sent here to get some of the crew that crashed here," she watched them running for a retreat, and she had to lean over to see where. It was another door, "Time to go."
She started to run down the ramp instead of jumping the balcony again. Helga wanted to return to the First District with little chaos and disorder as possible.

The Shark observed a blond woman running down the ramp. By the way it looked, she was trying to sneak in the group. Probabbly an ally. So, Axel started to focus on protecting her, attacking with a Water Slash any Heartless that tried to harm the woman. But, also, he still had the duty to guard the group's back, of course. A large body came stomping everything between him and the group, in a rush of destruction. He needed to be stopped. At the same time, two Soldiers were aiming for the blond woman, preparing their caracteristic spinning kick. The Hero acted as quick as he could. The 8 Ice Sharkblades went to the Large Body, drilling his back. The big heartless managed to make two steps more, and fell into the groud, disappearing in a black smoke. Then, the Soldiers. The first jumped, but got his by a array of Water Bullets. The second changed his target for the Shark. Too quick. The Hero got knocked down.
- Ugh... Son of a... - Quickly recovering, he jumped above the adversarie and fell, smacking him and finishing him with a strike of the Sharkblade. But the fight was stopless, and the Shark quickly dodged a Dark Ball's attack.
- In this ritym, things will get serious... How are you guys doing? - Asked the Shark to Lucas and Mikhail, while commanding his ICe Sharkblades to mantain the enemies away. The fight was really tough...
"Blast!" Lightning lanced out at a Large Body, and it fogged, destroyed. "Damn it, I knew it! Madam, if you have anything more substantial than those little metal things, you should use it! Even your hands or feet will work!" Ari took out another explosive vial and chucked it at the gathered darkness. An oppening appeared. "We need to get through that door, it leads to the First District," he said to those he was with.
Max cleared a path through the Heartless at Mikhail's request as he began moving the survivors towards the First District gates. He kept throwing attack after attack after the black beasts, the soldier himself merely a blur of blades and water. Simply put, he was fighting like a madman.
He looked over towards the blue guy with the shark-like clothes and started to call for him to run for the gates when he noticed a group of the expedition's survivors run through the gates from the Second District. He could feel a pit settle in the bottom of his stomach as he saw them, on the other side of the hoarde of heartless that had been assaulting the pod. This was not good....
Shark boy run forward, into the thick of it all to help, and Max growled in frustration.
"Mikhail, get those men out of here!" He shouted back over his shoulder,"I'll get the others there out of here! Move it, now!"
Max turned and ran forward, using his spear to either slice through attacing heartless, or just bat them off to the side, out of his way. He couldn't let anything slow down. The group from the Second District only had one spellcaster with them to protect them, not including shark boy. He knew, though, he would be hard pressed to get to them through the large host of Heartless that had now turned to face this new feast of hearts that had stumble upon them.
He reached out with his power, gathering water from the nearby fountain and forming it into spheres, dozens of them forming around him. Then, when he had nearly one hundred of them, he sent them flying into the backs of the Heartless. The projectiles slammed into their targets, sending many of them back to the Darkness immediately. Others were merely injured and sent reeling from the attack. It did, however, have the intended effect: it opened a path through them for the second group.
"Get through there now! We don't have time to waste! Move it!" Max shouted, still sending attacks into the Heartless, both to defend himself and keep the others' path through open....
(ooc: Lucas, it says nowhere in Sumdood's post that you went to the second district. )
The long sword of Sir Lucas swung valiantly around as it cleaved through the numbers of Heartless that approached from the flank that he was defending. His kite shield and plate mail armor protecting the knight well against the attempts of the vile monsters to overcome this obstacle. While focused on his task, the Wolf Knight kept glancing back to check on the progress of the group of men they were saving. And to maintain knowledge of how the other fighters were faring.
A shock of fright sundered through his body as the other group emerged from the gates of the second district. A vast force of Heartless was standing in their way and by the manner of their running they couldn't afford to turn back. The blue man in the shark outfit as well as Mikhail's friend had both moved in to aid the second group. The thin man with glasses did shouted at Mikhail to make sure that the first group would leave the district safely.
Sir Lucas then had to concentrate on vanquishing another wave of Heartless that tried to pass him. With quick brutal strikes and bashes from his shield, none succeeded in doing so. In the respite that was offered, Sir Lucas turned back and gazed upon Mikhail at the opposite end of the group of soldiers. Despite the distance and chaos, he could see it clearly. How Mikhail rather be alongside the other ones. The longing to help out in the place that was the most dangerous.
The bulk of the Heartless were now giving up on their original prey and were turning to the newcomers. Knowing that they would have a much greater chance to feast on their hearts. The group from the first crashed pod had made good progress. Bolstered by the arrival of Maxwell, Mikhail and The Shark. The large doors that lead to safety were now in their reach. While they pass between Sir Lucas and Mikhail, the brave ones started to dash for the door. Desperately trying to leave this hell and reach safety. The Wolf Knight called over to Mikhail: "Mikhail, go! I can handle this. Thou go aid thy friends. And may the Lunar Goddess watch over you." Sir Lucas gave him a salute with his long sword. Holding it straight up in front of his helmet and nodding softly. Then he immediately started to follow the first group to escort them out of the first district.
M I K H A I L R U T H E R F O R D "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU ENDED UP SLAIN BY ONE OF THEM."
((AAAAND I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE... *coughs* Anyway, round ends February 4th))
As they continued to advance and approached their salvation, Mikhail realized that the Heartless were not intending to stop their assault. For every shadow that he sent back to the darkness, two more were immediately summoned behind him. They needed to move faster and reach the First District soon or they would probably be caught inside that everlasting wave of darkness that continued to chase them.
Glancing behind, the pyromancer soon realized that The Shark was not among them. He cursed under his breath, knowing that they probably had a gigantic gap for surprise attacks. But his fears were washed away upon seeing the teenager a few feet away, aiding a spellcaster, a purple haired woman and Helga. He was glad that the latter had caught up with them but he soon realized that Merlin was not beside her...
However, it was not the time to get distracted and hope for the worst.
Mikhail was suddenly pushed out of his thoughts upon colliding with a Neoshadow's claw, leaving behind a bleeding wound on his arm. Gritting his teeth with fury, the young man tried to ignore the pain and slashed through the offender. The expedition members beside them watched in horror as both Sir Lucas and the pyromancer continued to duel with the Heartless, wanting to help but ultimately deciding to stick to running.
And then Maxwell spoke, ordering him to stay and lead the men to safety while he went and aided the group that had emerged from the Second District. Great, just great; now the Heartless had a clear shot at them. Fortunately, the enemy seemed to change targets and decided to focus on the newcomers instead. Letting out a relieved sigh, Mikhail grinned; the door was just a couple of steps away.
However, Max, Helga and the others needed help. Sir Lucas was apparently aware of this as well and he proceeded to send the pyromancer away to fight once more. Offering him a single nod, Rutherford didn't hesitate any longer to dart toward the enemy. A couple of Heartless noticed him and decided to attack, slowing him down for a while. Hopefully Max and the others would manage to stay alive for a little longer...

Nadia Verdansky was no fool, and if she had learned something through all those years of training it was not to fight an impossible battle. Some could have called her a coward, yes, but she was actually acting like a true survivor. Besides, Pinky & The Brain seemed to have their strategy against that... thing already planned. As awesome as she could be, the mercenary knew that she wouldn't be doing any good there.
With both Opal and Obsidian fully loaded, Nadia tiptoed behind Helga's group into the Third District. If there was one word that could describe that place, it would be dangerous. Or obnoxious if you were hunting. Really, the last time she had been there, loads and loads of Heartless had been getting in her way; quite annoying, you would say.
And as expected, the district was full of those little gremlins.
Cursing under her breath, she followed Helga, Ari and their protegés down the ramp, where more Heartless were expecting their arrival. She offered them a proud smirk as she aimed at a couple of flying Darkballs, proceeding to shoot a couple of Lightning Trackers to take care of them. Both pistols twirled around her fingers before being stored away by their mistress, who ran ahead and engaged a Soldier in close combat.
"Get through there now! We don't have time to waste! Move it!"
"Oh dear, and the fun was just starting..." Following her sarcastic statement with a dramatic eyeroll, Verdansky didn't hesitate to cross the path that the stranger had kindly opened for them. Now that the mercenary thought about it, perhaps there was a bounty on this man's head...

Helga rolled her eyes at acolyte. Perhaps he would find them more substantial when a bullet soars through his skull. She perfered not getting close and personal it hand-to-hand combat with these heartless. Distant, fast paced, is what she liked at the moment. Whipping her arm, a bullet pierced multiple heartless with a Cheap Shot, as it pierced through defenses. She would only be combative when its neccessary; in the meantime, she needs to move quickly through the gap of the masses to reach the First District.
Her pistols fired multiple shots, but her aim were focused and targeted either in or between the pair of round bulbous yellow eyes. Her own eyes narrowed cooly as a Large Body charged at her, but a bullet to the head wasn't enough to stop its accelerated motion as a purple glow coat it stomach. Taking aim she fired a cheat shot that made it pop like a balloon.
As she trailed down the pathway with her mercenaries on her heels, her head turned in search for the doors. "There!"

Axel was absorbing the informations on his sorround, while he taken hand-on-hand the Heartless Army that was in Helga's group. Soon, the Water and Fire boys joined him in the assault, helping to clean the way for the newcomers. While that, Sir Lucas was trying - and succeding - in escape with the first group.
"Well" He tought "I guess I'm more needed here. Besides, Lucas can take the adversaries." Still, Four of the Eight Ice Sharkblades, commanded by Shark's mind - or, better said, Magic - went to Sir Lucas, fighting alone and helping the Wolf Knight to escort the first group. While that, the Blue Hero standed, surrounded by enemies, but taking them down. A Neoshadow appeared behind, PUF. A Darkball came flying. PUF. Two Soldiers advanced, PUF. The Heartless could not approach the blue figure, or would certainly find the death.
At least for now. Still, The Shark was sensing the pain in his arms, the fatigue in his legs. He can still fight - and fight a lot - but that can't last forever...
Max held the Heartless back to the sides so the others could make it through. As the group slowly trickled past, the Heartless began scattering in all directions, leaving large, open gaps in among the hoardes of black beasts. Then, all of a sudden, in great bursts of black mist, a pair of massive Heartless appeared among their much smaller brethren.
One was a huge, hulking, beast-like Heartless with a massive horn upon its head and shaggy fur over the entirety of its body. It seemed to be a one huge knot of muscle and power. The second one was man-shaped and as black as pitch, with a heart shaped hole in the center of its chest. Max had encountered both Behemoths and Darksides before, and taken them down, but he'd never fought two at one time with so few others to back him up.
Max gritted his teeth and turned, sending another large burst of water into a small group of Heartless that had broken away from their fellows to go after the retreating survivors. They were nearly to the gates, which was good. That meant they'd soon be out of the way, and Max himself could get out of this hell-ish nightmare of a fight.
The first group of soldiers arrived at the large doors that separated the Third District from the First. Opening them was no simple task as these doors have kept the Heartless at bay for since the beginning of Traverse Town. Sir Lucas ran with the group and focused on intercepting any Shadow that creeps their way and tried to flank the fleeing men. Thankfully reinforcement arrived in the shape of 4 ice sharkblades that hovered alongside and blocked the stray Heartless still in their reach.
Quickly and coördinated the men lifted the heavy beam from the door and pulled with all their might to open the door. Covered by the Wolf Knight and the floating iceblades. When the door was open far enough for the men to slip through. One by one they hustled to safety. Sir Lucas backed up till the opening, overseeing that every one of them ventured through the gap and into the first district. The last men was their senior officer, who called out to their protector. While looking back at the second group lead by their lieutenant, straggling behind: "That's all of our group, but the others..."
"Go, thou will all be safe in the First District. I shall see to the second party." With a hesitant nod, the last of the men ran through the door and left the Third District. With them gone, Sir Lucas turned around and witnessed the chaotic battle from afar. Seeing to his shock how a Behemoth and a Darkside now had appeared. The Darkside was a new sight for the Wolf Knight. But the Behemoth he had encountered before together with Mikhail.
Sensing the urgency, Sir Lucas inhaled deeply. Pumping in fresh oxygen through his blood to invigorate himself. While calling upon his stamina reserves. Blocking out the feelings of his sore muscles and aching limbs. With a loud scream, the Wolf Knight then charged back into the fight. His leather cape flapping violently in his wake. The wind rushing passed his helmet. Every step of his metal greaves clanking heavy on the cobble stoned ground. While running straight for the Behemoth to engage the beast.
With his shield and armor he brutally knocked and pushed away any adversary that tried to foil his charge. Keeping up his speed and momentum. As finally he came withing striking distance and with a mighty leap managed to just get high enough to launch a single sweep of his long sword at the horn of the Behemoth. Knowing from past experiences that that was it's weakness. If anything would get the monster's attention surely that would be it. Shouting in an intimidating manner Sir Lucas ended with: "Thou fight shall be with me, foul spawn of darkness!"
"Begone foul dark creatures! Burn!" He pointed at the Heartless, and cursed fire sprouted from his hand, washing through the horde, and setting smaller incidental fires all through the horde. The door was close. He got to it, and pulled it open. "Get through! Now! Darkness!" A pulsing black orb fired from his hand, and bowled through more of the damn creatures.
(As per order of the movers and shakers... lett'er rip!)
The doors from the Second District flew open with a bang. As the dust from their rapid opening fell, a Holy white light beamed into the area. As the source came closer, bystanders could here soft chanting accompanying the sound of a soft footfall and a wooden staff hitting the cobbles.
As the bearded Magician came into view, he was emitting a blinding, brilliantly white, holy light, like a small sun had just entered the district. The few smaller heartless that remained alongside their large counterparts immediately shriveled up and dissipated upon being touched by the beams of light.
Merlin's hand was outstretched toward the large Darkside, and his chanting ended. His eyes, glowing with a holy light, fixated upon the immense creature, and the Moon mark on his hand, already glowing white, began to shine, bright enough that many would have to turn away to prevent blindness.
As he gestured toward the two immense Dark creatures, Merlin shouted: "Lux Sancta; Nox Exurite! Holyja!"
On the last word of the spell, he raised the staff to the sky as well. The permanent gloom surrounding traverse town broke for a brief moment, as two raging, dragon shaped energy bolts flew from the magician, crackling with holy energy, and striking both the Behemoth and the Darkside. Before either one could escape, Merlin brought his hands crashing downward- and the heavens responded with a humongous column of holy energy, which encompassed both of the Heartless, disintegrating them within seconds.
The holy light stayed about for a bit, raging into the ground. All of the heartless in the district were eliminated, and as the holy light disappeared, a holy trinity symbol was left behind, glowing intensely. As the light began to return to normal for an average day in Traverse town, and Merlin smiled.
"Well well well! Looks like I got here just in time, Eh?" He smiled, looking tired, nodding to Mikhail and Maxwell, and even to Sir Lucas, who didn't know Merlin, but Merlin knew him. In fact; Merlin knew almost everyone who called Traverse Town their home.
He walked forward, looking at the holy trinity that had been left on the ground. It wouldn't last forever, and he was sure that the heartless presence would get worse when they did.
"OK, let's go! get out of here everyone, and make sure you seal those gates well." As he spoke, Merlin flicked his hand, and the large gates that led to District Two shut briskly with a loud slamming sound. Nodding, he helped make sure everyone got into the first district.
Max sliced through a small group of shadows that lunged at him as he began to turn his attention to the Darkside that had shown up in the district. He was now completely surrounded by Heartless on all sides, and they were closing in. He ignored the smaller Heartless and continued rushing towards the Darkside.
As he approached the massive Heartless, he sent a strong blast of water at its leg that briefly interrupted its balance on its feet. As it took a couple of steps back, it struck out at Max with one hand. He tried to move away, but was still sent sprawling to the ground. Things went downhill from there.
The next thing Max knew, he had Heartless jumping on him from all sides, clawing and slashing at him. He threw his arms up to try and protect himself, his weapons laying on the ground just out of reach as he tried to fend the Heartless off with his water power. It was no use, though. Every Heartless he returned to black mist was replaced by two more ripping and tearing at him.
He felt panic begin to well up inside him as he suddenly lost control of his power. Water no longer responded to his call, no longer protected him. He began swinging his arms wildly at the Heartless, trying to bat them away from him as a blue aura began to emanate from him, shining through the gaps between the Heartless.
Then, in a bright flash of white light, all the Heartless were gone. Max was left there, panting and staring into space as he watched more white light completely obliterate the Behemoth and Darkside. As his own blue glow died down, he turned to look from where the light had come from to see Merlin standing there, the white light dying down around him. Relief flooded through him at the sight of the old wizard. It was good to see him there .
Max slowly got to his feet, looking around. Every last Heartless was gone, a large trinity symbol left where the Behemoth and Darkside had been. Max swallowed and looked over at Merlin. This was a very impressive feat, even for someone as well known and obviously powerful as Merlin. It made Max wonder what else the wizard was capable of. There mere thought of what other kinds of powerful magic the man possessed sent a shiver down Max's spine.
He shook himself out of his thoughts and moved to retrieve his weapons, resheathing his sword and holding his war pike firmly in his hand. He then slowly started walking off towards the gates to the first district, looking over at everyone else there.
"Well? What're we waiting for?" He said, a small chuckle in his voice,"Why...why don't we get out of here, huh?"
