In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Deathblade -------- He had been standing in the Garden for quite a while. He knew that for a fact because he was starting to feel the effects of separation. His body ached and he could feel it working harder to hold itself together. He was tired of waiting. He formed a sword in his hand and cut up a few flowers. “Deathblade,” he thought, “I’m just a weapon, a tool. I wasn’t supposed to exist.” He retracted the weapon and stood silent for a moment before stooping down to pick up one of the flowers he had just cut. ”Or Alexandros . . . protector of damned men . . . either way, I don’t like it.” He burned the flower in his hand and turned around. ”Maybe I’ll just let myself die . . . though I think I’d rather meet my end at the Great Maw. It’s all stone . . . and I’m metal. It fits better than these flowers.” He started walking slowly out of the garden to get on his way to the Crystal Fissure.
Saxen -------- Saxen woke up from his sleep with the worst fit of pain he’d had since he had finished the second stage of bonding. He knew something was up because he hadn't sensed Deathblade’s presence when he jolted awake. He tried to get up and out of bed, but his legs just didn’t let him. He felt a sudden pain throughout his entire body and collapsed right there. Then, he remembered something. It felt like a dream, but it was more vivid. ”It’s time for me to go,” he heard, ”We both know I’m hated. Why pretend?” Saxen knew that Deathblade was smiling, though he couldn’t quite see it. ”You have a choice, Saxen. You can die, or you can find a way to give me purpose. And I wouldn’t advise trying any of that ‘protect the innocent’ crap. At this point, you don’t have too long.” Saxen could feel the smile again, and he didn’t like it. Not at all. ”I’d hurry up, if I were you.” The memory ended with a laugh that sent a chill down even Saxen’s spine.
He forced himself to get up and start moving through the apartment Merlin had arranged for him. He stumbled into the hallway and yelled, “Shira!” Then, more pain. His vision started to blur. He yelled. Loud. He fell to the ground once again and could barely move. “Damn it Shira, I need your help!” He, once again, grunted and, through sheer will, got up to sit at the small table he had in the kitchen area. “Deathblade’s doing some’n' dumb at the garden and he’s been gone too long for me to do anything . . . I need you to . . . I don’t know . . .” Pain. “Gocha! Just find him and bring him back here!” With that, the pain overtook him and his vision clouded even further, eventually completely blackening, and he fell unconscious.
Shira was lying silently on her bed, as the dawn began to break. She raised her hand to her face, and moving her fingers up and down, examined the hands movements moving it in many other positions. It was so weird having her own body, in a way it sorta felt empty...but then again maybe that's just because she was so use to have V around. The dark persona stood up straight, her back up against the pillow on her bed. She sighed, it was gonna take some time getting used to her new body, but for now she was content about having it, and not disappearing like she originally planned. She about to lay back down when suddenly her name was called out.
“Shira!” shouted a familiar voice, the dark persona got off from her bed, and going towards the door opened it to see who it was that yelled out her name. At once she heard her name called out again, “Damn it Shira, I need your help!” the voice said this time. She followed it, and moving into the kitchen area, saw who she expected to see, Saxen. The girls eye's widened slightly, the boy looked in pretty bad shape. "What's wrong?" she asked, rushing to help him. Though before she could he had plopped himself onto the small table nearby.
“Deathblade’s doing some’n' dumb at the garden and he’s been gone too long for me to do anything . . . I need you to . . . I don’t know . . .” he replied, well that wasn't very helpful. Suddenly he let out a short cry. “Gocha! Just find him and bring him back here!” He finished. At first, Shira wanted to ask why he couldn't do it himself, but then before she could ask the boy instantly fell unconscious. Well...that answered her question. She sighed, "jeez..." she said, picking up Saxen and putting him over her shoulder. She took him to his room, and placing him on the bed added. "It's my first day traveling with you guys, and already there's trouble." At this she chuckled slightly, "Well no matter, might as well get Deathblade."
Shira then turned around, and walking out of the apartment, headed out towards the gardens. On her way, she saw a figure not too far away. She narrowed her eye's and getting a clear image of the figures face found it was deathblades. 'Perfect.' she thought. A small smile curved around her face, she dashed towards him and stopping when she was in front of him said, "Hey...Saxen kinda needs you at the apartment...I guess you guys can't stay apart for long huh? Anyway let's go, the guy's passed out now...not sure what else will happen if we waste anymore time."Shira was then about to turn around, but then feeling a slight cold demeanor coming from the metallic being looked up at him. "Is anything wrong?" she asked, a slight ting of concern in her eye's.
Deathblade wasn't sure what to think when Shira showed up. He immediately decided that he didn't want to show any emotion, so he formed his mouthplate and kept his eyes steady. His concerns were confirmed as soon as she started talking. "Saxen needs you," she said. What an understatement, he thought. He just stopped and stood his ground as she started to turn around, but something had made Shira stop. "Is anything wrong?" she asked.
So, she's actually asking. I wonder, is she concerned about me, or is it something else? he thought. "I'm not going back," he stated plainly and turned to continue on his way to the Crystal Fissure, but stopped. "Shira . . ." Damn it . . . again . . . I'm not thinking things through. I didn't plan this far . . . he cursed himself. "How did you deal . . . with never being able to separate yourself from V?"
Shira was surprised by Deathblades answer, she was going to ask why he wasnt going back, when he suddenly walked away from her. He soon stopped though, and turning to face her asked. "How did you deal . . . with never being able to separate yourself from V?" At this the dark persona gave the man a questionging look. "With never being able to separate from V?" She asked. She looked up at the blue sky above them, her red eye's brightening as the sun's light hit against them. 'Strange...' she thought, eyeing a large, white cloud. 'Even looking at the sky seems to be different now...'
She looked back towards Deathblade and closing her eye's shrugged, "I'm not sure.." she said frankly, she opened her eye's once again. "Such a weird question...Ok I guess? I'm not really sure...it was sorta hard, I couldn't have any privacy since V always forced us into meeting new people, the only time I got to be alone was at night when she was sleeping." At this Shira tilted her head to the side, asking the man then, "Why do you ask?"
He wasn't sure if that was the answer he wanted to hear, or not. His initial impulse was to sigh, but he didn't. Then, she asked him why he had asked her that. That was a pretty good question. "Maybe . . . I wanted to see if you would understand." he said. He stood there, thinking for a moment. What is she thinking about me right now? he wondered. He decided that it wasn't important right then and started walking again. "I wasn't meant to exist like I do. I wasn't supposed to be sentient, I was supposed to be a tool, nothing more. Think about living with that." he said as he got farther away. He didn't know if he wanted her to follow, or if he wanted her to just let him die. He had tried to bring death to so many others, but, now, he was trying to bring it upon himself. It seemed so unreal, like it wasn't really happening, but it was.
Shira gave the man a questioning look, when he replied to her question. 'Understand?' she thought curiously, Understand what? What it felt to be in a body with someone else? Well...yeah she understood that, afterall V and her did share a body ever since she was a child. The dark persona watched as Deathblade began to walk again saying as he got further away. "I wasn't meant to exist like I do. I wasn't supposed to be sentient, I was supposed to be a tool, nothing more. Think about living with that." At this Shira smirked, "Is that what this is about?" she asked, shaking her head. She walked to her side, and looking forward down the road murmured. "I wasn't suppose to exist either..." It was true, Shira was not like other humans, she wasn't born from parents and was just a meer creation of someone's will, V's will. She raised her hand to her face once again, and examining the lines on her new hands added. "Half a soul...born to only one purpose...when that purpose Is gone that creation...is meant to disappear forever." Yes...Shira knew it well...she knew she was not suppose to exist at that moment, and even grew angry at the fact that her life was basically pointless. She lowered her hand, and looking up at the sky said. "At least you have a reason to live...I don't have one anymore..."
So that was it, then. She thought this whole thing was stupid. Figures.
"I wasn't meant to exist either."
She couldn't be more wrong, he thought. She was created with a purpose.
"At least you have a reason to live...I don't have one anymore..."
He stopped. "I never had a reason! Nobody wants me here, and I have no goals of my own. Even trying to be the strongest holds no allure for me. At least you're wanted. Even Saxen would want me dead if it wouldn't kill him, too." He kept walking. At this point, he was far enough away that they wouldn't be able to hear each other. She'd have to either follow him, or let him go. Either way, he didn't care.
Shira sighed as she listened to Deathblades remark, did he really think that way? She ran towards him, and getting close enough grabbed his hand. "Will you stop walking away? You'll never solve anything if you kill yourself, that's what your planning to do isn't it?" She looked down at the ground, "Listen...I understand." she said softly, "Your frusturated, your not sure what to do because...you've been only told you were meant as a tool. Well the fact is, your alive, so stop reminecing about what should've happened and be grateful for this chance you've been given. Because of the fact your alive, your able to have a choice. A choice where you get to choose who you are, what you want to be, and most importantly what your purpose is."
At this she let go of the man's hand. "No one can decide who you are but you, so if you don't want to be a tool then don't be." she added, "Choose your own path that suites you, and stick with it. Your not alone, V and I...we don't want you to die. That i know for certain. So please, don't end your life over something that can easily be fixed. It's...stupid... At the last part she murmured to herself. The dark persona couldn't understand what was making her say all these sentimental thoughts, perhaps V's kindness was finally getting to her, though she doubted it. Well, whatever it was she didn't care at the moment. She looked up at Deathblade, and looking at him with a blank stare waited for a response from him.
Deathblade stopped when Shira grabbed his hand and he quirked his eyebrow. This is unusual for her, he thought. Then, she went all sentimental on him. Part of him just wanted to listen to her, to be happy, but he didn't. He'd been Death for too long to be able to just turn around and be a different person. "Thing is, it's not something that can be easily fixed. All the time that I've existed I've been a killer. I've hated and been hated and that's that." He looked back at Shira. When she said that she didn't want him gone, that hit him hard, but he wasn't going to let himself be swayed that easily. He had already made up his mind. "I've made my choice . . . but you're welcome to come with me." He paused and looked up at the sky. He receded the faceplate and could feel that his legs were starting to loosen. "I still have some time and I'd rather spend it with you than spend it alone," he said, letting a hint of sincerity and kindness into his voice and gave her the first kind smile he had given anyone.
Shira frowned as she heard Deathblades reply a sigh passing through her lips. So he still planned to kill himself huh? Well...at least no one could say she didn't try. She was about to turn around and walk away, when he suddenly made a comment. "I've made my choice . . . but you're welcome to come with me." He said, he then paused and looking up at the sky added, "I still have some time and I'd rather spend it with you than spend it alone," This took the dark persona by surprise. She didn't think that Deathblade or anyone for that matter, especially when they are trying to kill themselves would want someone by there side. But...if that was what he wanted, would she have the audacity to say no? Probably not. For no matter how cold her heart was, there was still...that weak spot which she couldn't denie when she felt it. And she could deffinetly feel it now. She looked up at Deathblade, and having a small smile creep on her face said. "Very well, let's go then. Afterall there isn't that much time to waste is there?" She walked to his side, and becoming silent waited to see what the man would do.
Deathblade smiled when she decided to come with him, a glint of solemn happiness in his eyes. "We have a little less than an hour and I was planning on going down to the Crystal Fissure." He put his hand on her shoulder. "We might want to get moving or we won't have any time." He tried to start moving, but his legs were dragging. He grunted and pulled harder. After a few steps, he had gotten used to it and was moving at pretty close to a normal pace. He did his best to get there in as short a time as possible and it ended up taking about 10 minutes. He let his legs collapse in the midst of the crystals. "It's beautiful here, isn't it? And to think that it's just a bunch of rocks." He looked up at Shira, waiting for her to sit and, for a split second, there was a hint of pain in his eyes. She had changed his mind, but he didn't plan on telling her yet. He wanted to spend as much time with her as possible before having to go back to his prison in Saxen's mind.
Shira nodded, as she listened to where they were headed, she then followed Deathblade though he seemed to be having trouble walking. 'Probably an effect from being away from Saxen.' She thought concerned, she was going to help him out but it seemed like he had everything under control, after a few steps, he started walking at a normal pace once again. After ten minutes they got to Crystal Fissure, Shira's eye's widened. It was...beautiful. It wasn't at all what she expected, the crystals which surrounded the entire cave glistened like stars in the night sky. She smiled. "It's beautiful here, isn't it? And to think that it's just a bunch of rocks." Deathblade said, just before he collapsed on one of the crystals. Shira nodded, "Indeed..." she murmured. She looked down at the man, noticing the pain in his eye's. "Are you ok?" she asked, bending down to his level.
He shook his hair out of his eyes and let them lose their edge. He smiled at her with a warmth uncharacteristic of metal. "Yeah. Because you're here with me." He looked into her eyes for a little while. "Do you still have the cutlass I made for you? It's special, you know. It's a part of me that I gave to you. You should keep it with you." He felt a sudden pain through his body. He melted further for a moment, but, then, he was able to recover. "Did you mean it?" he paused for a second to remember what he was asking. "Did you mean it when you said you didn't want me to die?"
Deathblade response to Shira's question came as a surprise to her, was he really that happy to have her with him? It was sort of strange, she was so used to having people hate her that she just assumed everyone would except for V, but here Deathblade was saying he was glad to have her with him. It was confusing, and weird for the dark persona but she soon shrugged it off. He then asked her if she still had that cutlass he gave to her in the world Radiant Garden. She smiled saying soon after, "You mean that red blade? Of course i kept it, it looks like it could be a very good weapon, don't worry I'm not getting rid of it." Shira was then quite, until she saw the man wince in pain she looked at him with a tinge of concern in her eye's. "Are you sure your ok?" she asked once again. She knew the answer was obvious but she just wanted to ask. However he didn't answer her question, instead he asked. "Did you mean it?" This made the dark persona confused, 'huh?' she thought, 'Mean? Mean what?' She was going to ask when he suddenly answered her question asking, "Did you mean it when you said you didn't want me to die?" So that's what he meant. Shira sighed, then looking away from the man to one of the crystals said in a soft tone. "Of course...I would never lie about something like that, ever."

"Of course...I would never lie about something like that, ever."
That settled it. That settled it all. He had decided who he was going to be and what he was going to do. He smiled at her and put his hand lightly on her face. "In that case, could you help me get back? My legs are kinda . . ." he looked down at his melted lower body. "I'll be able to hold together and move, but I need some of the weight taken off." He started to stand up, but couldn't get very far. He let an evil grin onto his face for a moment. "If I'm doing this bad, Saxen must be in hell right now." The grin disappeared as soon as he looked back at Shira, though. He didn't want to be Deathblade anymore, especially not with her. "I'm going to be Alexandros . . . protector, not destroyer." he muttered to himself before sliding back to the ground.
