In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

The new guy seemed to completely ignore her, and just as she decided to run him through, Vayne ran by shouting about someone needing help outside. Then Lea stepped up next to her, and since he seemed to know the guy, she took the portal to the disturbance.
The portal opened on a bunch of Heartless surrounding her Vayne and an unconscious boy. Vayne had already engaged the Heartless, and she had to do the same to keep the silly boy alive. She summoned up a second blade, and waded it, red sparks flying as she sliced through them, and covered the boy on the ground. He seemed rather familiar...

Lea watched as Xaoc disappear into the portal. Good, he wasn't sure if he should involve her in XII business just yet. He then focused his attention back to his fellow Heartless. Why was Ienzo here anyway?
"Now that that's out of the way. What brings you here Ienzo? Official business or pure boredom?" He hadn't really known Ienzo much, even when they were human. He did use to see him around but the two never had a real conversation if memory serves correctly.
"Boredom, mostly. And the fact that this place is my temporary domain." The dark-haired Heartless leaned against the wall, looking out over the small lake that the Zero District hid from the outside World. His silver eyes wandered, wondering what the sounds outside were about. "You know, Lea, it's not common that you find a Heartless with human cohorts," he began, looking to his coworker. "Not that I am going to tattle about it. Still, why is it that you find refuge in the Light?"
Refuge in the Light. Just like Ienzo. He'd been trying to get away from the Dark XII for so long now it seemed like a passive aggressive attempt at freedom. Sometimes he wasn't exactly sure what to do with himself, shunned by both Light and Darkness. But Lea could help him, if the Heartless aligned himself right. Still...
Ienzo didn't want to hurt Elaeus in the process, if he could avoid it. Old ties were still binding, and he felt that he owed his brother somewhat.
Vayne went after one of the Morningstars, choking up on the grip he held on his glaive. He dashed past it once, slashing.
"One--" he said, then sliced it again. "Two--" which was followed by him Hitting it into the air. "Three, and away you go!" With that, he smacked it with the flat part of his glaive blade. "Hey, Onee-chan! Heads up!"
Looking around, he gulped loudly as a couple of the remaining soldiers and a Magic Ghost began to circle him.
"Let's see, there's one, two, three of you and only one of me..." he said. "What is a poor boy to do?"
He began to fake some sobs to lure them in. One of the Soldiers fell for his ruse. Vayne boo-hooed once more before smacking it into the air.
"Bye-bye, now!" he said, as a bolt of lightning zapped his enemy.
Xaoc say the morning star fly into the air, and she dissapated her blades, and wound up with her staff. "Hey batta, batta, SWING!" She smashed the heartless with her staff, and it went flying, crashing into a wall, poofing into smoke. She grinned, and watch Vayne take out another Heartless with a crying act. "Dirty tricks, Vayne, I approve! Chaos blade!" She summoned up another blade, and slashed through the two remaining Heartless. With her blade free hand, she gave Vayne a high five. Then she turned on the unconscious kid, placing her hand on him, and surging a small amount of energy to wake him up. "Hey, kid, get up. Wait a minute... YOU!"

"Well..." The red headed Heartless scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out what to say. "It's just that I meet the girl a few days ago and we...Kinda hit it off pretty well, and her little brother, Cat Boy that you might have saw, isn't a bad kid." Well this was a bit awkward for Lea. Sure he was relieved that Ienzo wasn't going to say anything to anybody, but...
"So...Uh...Well what do you mean by this place being your temporary domain?" Hopefully he can change the subject a little. "It sounds like your trying to find refuge too. I'm only here cause I like these guys. So what made you decide to make this place your little home away from home?"
Ienzo paused. Should he... Tell them? Tell them that he had his Shadow-infested Heart set on friends as well? What would Lea say? His silver eyes flashed as he looked around. He wanted to travel with Note and Maya more than anything. He'd never felt so accepted before...
"It's not that I'm trying to find a refuge, I just like to explore the Worlds." That was basically true. For now, he would leave out his partnership with the RGRUC. Radiant Garden was his true sanctuary, he was just here while Note was. Then they would go back home and Ienzo would set his plan into action. "Not to mention The World That Never Was can get ridiculously boring without anybody else there. We've all got our missions; and when I'm off work, I like to enjoy myself."
He didn't mention that his Heart collection had been failing lately. He only took the Hearts of those already dying, to maintain his quota under Ansem's attention, and lately he was feeling more and more regret. Did it normally hurt this much? When he had let those two agents go in the Caribbean, he had felt oddly at peace. He wasn't use to this. His Darkened Heart was confused. After all, he could only feel sadness and anger. Apart from that, he felt nothing, similar to that of a Nobody. He felt a void, a pain in his chest from the lack of Light emotion.
"Lea... How will you explain this to the Superior?"
Vayne tilted his head a bit, ears twitching in curiosity. He didn't recognize this person one bit, but Xaoc had said the word you like she did know him. Hopefully it wasn't someone she didn't get along with. Vayne would feel pretty bad if this person got yelled at like the man who'd offered to take Vayne back to his house instead of wandering Third District.
That train of thought just transferred passengers to another one.
"It didn't look like he was fighting back against them..." Vayne said. "Why would someone wander Third District if they can't fight Heartless?"

Legato felt no pain. He was stuck in a impenetrable darkness which surrounded and crushed him. Was this what death was like? Legato tried to move his arms, but couldn't even feel them. He then felt a surge of electricity pulse through his body and the darkness turned to light.
A torrent of pain coursed through his body and his eyes flew open. He was in the third district and the heartless were gone. So someone did come to help. Legato thought to himself. He then heard a familiar voice say:
"Hey, kid, get up. Wait a minute... YOU!" Looking up to the voice, he saw Xaoc. Wait what!? was all that he was thinking at that moment. He then heard a kid with cat ears say:
"Do you know this person, Onee-chan?"
Onee-chan? Xaoc has a brother!? Legato was shocked. Looking at them, they had nearly no resemblance whatsoever. Confused, he said "...Hi. My name is Legato.... umm..." Legato was trying to come up with something to say when the cat eared boy said:
"It didn't look like he was fighting back against them... Why would someone wander Third District if they can't fight Heartless?" He made a very good point. Legato had to be honest and say:
"Sorry about that. I was so deep in thought, I lost track of where I was. I'm sorry for disturbing you. But why did you help me? Especially you Xaoc, last time we met, it made it seem like you hate me.

"I wasn't helping you, I was helping Vayne." She grabbed Legato's arm, and pulled him up. She checked him for injuries, but didn't find anything serious. Answering his question, she said, "I don't hate people the first time I meet them. Even high horse types like your idiotic friend. The only reason I helped, though, is 'cause otokun jumped in without thinking, and I prefer him alive over dead."

"Oh so you explore worlds as well? Guess I'm not the only one. And yeah, home hasn't been real exciting, even after the last big mission." Well at least he didn't feel totally alone about jumping around the worlds. Maybe he could join Ienzo sometimes, maybe.
"Lea...How will you explain this to the Superior?"
Lea scratched the back of his head, boy, was that a real good question. Did Ansem even need to know about Xaoc and Vayne? Doubtful, but still..."Why does the Boss Man need to know about them? Aren't we allowed to at least have friends? Cause it does get lonely when your around the same people all day."
Lonely? Didn't Lea realize that being a Heartless, that was axiomatic? The Heartless put his hands in his pockets, his shrewd gaze looking out over the sparkling lake that inhibited movement of intruders in this hidden District. Lea had fallen asleep for a long time, like the others had... Like Elaeus had. And once again, the Heartless had evolved from their original beings. Thus was the nature of the Darkness. It constantly moved, chaotic and raw. It transformed with the smallest variables.
All except for Ienzo. The Heartless had to admit that he had help from Sin. The mutualistic creature that inhabited his body had stopped the variables from affecting him. The silver-eyed Heartless pursed his lips. "The Dark XII... What is our purpose anyhow?" His eyes met Lea's. "You know that if they win, all of your friends will die." He shrugged. "No offense, I'm just stating the obvious." Would Lea get his meaning? That the Dark XII might just be detrimental to their own plans?
Vayne looked at this new person, and began to think. He looked alright enough. In fact, he might even be able to get a job at Dark Intentions... Vayne put an absent-minded finger on his cheek as he began to ponder what dress the new guy might wear.
Frills? No, frills wouldn't look right on him, nor would leather or spandex. Latex was out of the question, since even Vayne was reluctant to wear such unbreathing material.
"You'd have to wear satin and gossamer..." Vayne cooed, sighing a bit at the expense of the materials. "Daniel is going to have a fit!"
Then he felt it-- it wasn't a queasy feeling like with normal darkness; rather, Vayne suddenly felt chills run up his spine. It was like for the briefest of moments, all the light and joy in the Worlds vanished. There was an old saying from his homeworld for that kind of feeling, and Vayne barely even breathed the sentence:
Vayne? Must be the kid with the cat ears. Legato thought to himself, looking over at Vayne. Why did he help me in the first place? Legato couldn't help wonder.
"I don't hate people the first time I meet them. Even high horse types like your idiotic friend. The only reason I helped, though, is 'cause otokun jumped in without thinking, and I prefer him alive over dead."
"Otokun? You have a soft side I see Xaoc. That's just so cute! Didn't expect that out of someone like you, but I guess it takes all sorts as they say or something like that." Legato said, not trying to suppress his glee. "So you have a brother. He seems to be nice, nice enough to help me. I want to become friends with him." He then said with complete honesty. He then notice Vayne looking at him with a inquisitive look and said:
"You'd have to wear satin and gossamer..." He said, cooing at him. "Daniel is going to have a fit!"
"Xaoc,do you have any idea what Vayne is talking about?" Legato said, confused. "Why do I have to wear satin and whatever else he said?" Legato was very confused. Suddenly, Vayne's demeanor changed completely and he whispered:
"Someone's walking on my grave..."
"Is something wrong Vayne?" He asked in a worried tone.
