In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Laughing, Kuu nodded. 'Haha, that's right. Except for that last bit, that was pretty good. Remember, don't panic when you lengthen the blade - every inch should be controlled so that it is never longer or shorter than it needs to be. It'll all come with practice.'
Casting Aero in around his palms again, he said, 'I'm going to take that last move apart, and we'll go through that piece by piece.'
Kuu formed the magic in his hands into blades once more. 'You remember when we were moving that bubble of light around? Now you're going to apply that concept again here. You send the magic in your left hand to your right hand when you cross your hands over - here.'
He began slowly turning, making sure Kairi could see where he was crossing his arms. 'Don't forget to keep the spell running in your right hand as well. Now, the moment the magic from your left hand transfers to your right, you give it an extra burst to shoot it outwards down your right arm.'
Swiftly completely his revolution, he struck a wide slash with the combined length of the two wind blades. 'With this additional force, your blade with will double in length without any extra tension or fatigue. Handy, right? And the same can be done with your weapon.'
Kuu picked up one of the hook swords, and began channelling his Aero magic around it. 'Exactly the same concept - instead of just your left hand though, you charge your weapon with the same magic, cross over, transfer from left to right and shoot it down the length of the blade.'
He spun and delivered the same slash, except the combined length of the weapon and the twice-long magic attack made the strike of even wider range. 'It's a similar principle to my Xuangfengjian technique, but you use the force of the thrusting the magic from your left arm to your right arm.'

Flexing her fingers, she nodded at the critique; with a shake she tried to recall what exactly would she need to consistently practice on. For however long they been at this, it felt like a lot of information was crammed in. She wasn't one to complain, nor was she in a position to; the worlds weren't going to stall for her, so she had to buckle up tightly and strap on her booties.
And it seemd she didn't have to concern herself with delaying from that last manuever, they were going to tackle it now. In silence she called to her light as it glowed in her hands before extending into blades. Her mind sticky tacked enough notes of what he'd done, "the xuaangfeen..."
She stopped there before she could butcher up the foreign exotice name and merely nodded an affirmation. She took stance, "alright so I tuuurn..."
She slowy conducted each motion, while repeating the directions out loud, "cross my light from left hand to the right..."
The polarity of white snapped towards the other like a tugged comet. The light appeared fuller and denser, if that made any sense. Instead of increasing in length, it burned brighter light a flame, "then thrust it..."
"Out!" She right arm sweeped apart with a lengthier blade of white that even curved a bit from her slash, but finished in a straightened position. The light dimmed away back in her hand as she mused things over, "Hmm that wasn't as hard as I thought it was...now to do it faster without over-thinking it..."
For someone who seemed so uncertain from the start, she felt more confident; she hadn't fumbled like a bafoon, nor was ill laughter cracked at her for her inexperienced. This space and also her patient teacher were both welcoming leaving a prominent room of growth, progress, and success.
"I think I got it," She even felt bold enough to call unto her keyblade to use rather than the wooden hook sword. Although she was used to the weight, Kairi had to refamiliarize herself with it with a new outlook in how to use it. With a casual sway, she practice spinning it in her hand.
With a few more revolutions of her keyblade, she readied herself, while getting her fingers and hand tamed in twirling. She stopped, then breathed slowly. Her left hand illuminated with light, and she body fitted into position. Now to channel light into her keyblade...
Light sparkled from the nooks and cranny from her grip on the hilt. Carressing the grip, the light expanded around the guards and down the blade. Leaning with her weight, she tried recalling everything she was exposed to...
Right....Left.... Even her own thoughts faded away as she got into the motions of her sweeps. Her arms were apart with a familiar gap between them, while her left hand had an extending blade of light in it. She went back right, and left again; as she trailed towards her right, she spun around to transfer her magic, while giving her upcoming slash more momentum when right arm stretched around.
"HA!" As her right arm whipped aside a blade of light stretched from her keyblade. Her body froze at the last position before she regained and re-centered herself. She hummed lightly to herself and spun her keyblade, then re-called the light that surged through it before it can fall apart.
The red-head eyed her keyblade skeptically as if this was her first time holding it; it felt new yet familiar to her now she had something new and innovative to apply to Destiny's Embrace. Yet she couldn't help, but whisper lowly, "How was that?"
She looked over to Kuu in search of approval...anything.
Instead of offering a reply, Kuu nodded and picked up the wooden hook sword that she had put aside. Kairi was doing well, and her familiarity with magic was serving her well. For someone who knew little about the theories and methods of spell-weaving, she seemed to have an unusual closeness with her particular element, and he wondered how she had managed to obtain control over such a rare magic type when it was evident she had not been learning magic for very long. In any case, she now had an idea of the movements required - it was time to see if they could be applied in combat.
He took up his stance, left palm facing the opponent with two fingers stretched upwards, his weapon neatly tucked beneath his arm. 'Okay. I am now going to attack you,' he informed her. 'I advise you defend yourself.'
Kuu struck with a stab of his wooden weapon, before whipping in a subtle twirl to stab again on the opposite side. The beginning of the pattern, except your light magic can't be used to block stabbing maneuvers in its bladed form. You'll have to use your weapon, but adapt its movement so that it covers both sides of your body when you do not have the advantage of two blades.
As he moved to the next attack, he leant his body backwards, and spun his upper torso about in a movement that allowed him to dodge any incoming magic attack before he spiraled about into the following stance. That relaxed movement isn't just for comfort - it's for you to have complete control over your entire body without upturning your attack rhythm. You have to be able to alter your movements freely to evade enemy attacks while continuing on with your own attack.
Crossing his feet, he swept his weapon down, around and upwards in a low uppercut, before spinning about to deliver a flicking slash on the opposing side of her head. Same principle, except you'll have to learn to foresee the different heights of attack. The spinning maneuver in the second half of the pattern will block it, but not if the blades fail to cross.
He then charged his weapon with an Aero spell, and spun rapidly while a small whirlwind formed about him - his defensive parrying technique, the Taiji Spiral. That final move isn't infallible. The power behind it is in the speed of the rotation and the timing of the elongation of the blade. If the rotation is counteracted by another rotating force and the magic countered by an equal or greater form of magic, then that last technique can be stopped. In that case, you have to be ready go straight into a defensive guard to receive their counterattack, as such -
Leaping from his spin, Kuu struck with a diagonal slash - after a brief flash of light, he straightened, and glanced with slight amusement at the severed blade of the wooden hook sword in his hand. 'Aw man... now I'm going to have to make a new one. I guess I overdid it a little.'

She put her fingers to work practice stable twirls of the keyblade; hearing Kuu's voice, she perked up at him with a hum. A test was coming her way; light covered her left hand and encased her keyblade. With the first struck, she swept her keyblade towards the left to knock it downwards away from her; with a twirl, she redirected to the opposite side. With a spin, she lashed out a blade of light directed with her keyblade.
He was able to evade it; as if it would be that easy to knick him. A hook sword swept up towards her right, but a swift twirl of her keyblade knocked it back. Seeing him spin, she felt what was next to come, but her keyblade was in her right hand, while he was coming towards the right. Before she can think up something, her body just leaned towards it with her keyblade to sweep against to colliding block.
As he air covered if blade, she only can think to move the hell. With her keyblade already augmented with light, she widely spun towards her left to get out of range or more or less the bulk of it before slashing as well with her light and a wave of water, an unintentional unison. She thought she would come out of this with a bruise of sort. As he straightened, a stray hand went up to check her head, but didn't feel any tenderness. Walking from behind she peaked over to see a splintered wooden sword; she giggle snorted, "you think...poor thing didn't stand a chance. Mm yeah you may need to make a new one; I doubt moogles repair wooden objects. Maybe they should synthesize with it, since you play soo roughly with your toys."
Chuckling she shifted the weight of her keyblade in her hand with casual swings, while calling back the light within it.
Kuu chuckled. 'Well, better safe than sorry. It wouldn't do if you got hurt using real weapons - after all, it is your first time trying out this discipline in combat.'
He picked up the two pieces of the broken weapon and placed it neatly at the edge of the floor. He then crossed to the middle of the dojo, and motioned to Kairi to sit down and make herself comfortable. Also taking his seat in a cross-legged position, Kuu gave her a smile. 'Well, you've certainly taken some steps in the right direction. It's still rough around the edges, but all that will get neater as you practice more. The great thing about having a pattern-based style means that you can practice without enemies, and just get your body used to remembering all the movements so you can do them instinctively.'
'Try to retract the length of the blade as soon as each attack is over,' he adv otherwise you're going to tire your magic out needlessly by trying to maintain that length. Having attacks that change its range all the time also makes it harder for your opponent to gauge their distance, which in turn makes it easier for you to control how you move in and out of combat.'
He glanced up at her over his spectacles, the act suddenly bring his unblurred vision into focus, allow his full sharp gaze to look at Kairi. 'What you have to remember is that this is the most basic form - rather than spending time filling your head with more advanced techniques that you won't have room to understand, you should just keep practicing these moves and build upon them in your own way. Remember, the best way is the most natural way. And natural doesn't always mean easy. Pick a purpose, and find the smoothest, most organic way to go about it.'
Allow his expression to soften a little, he laughed, 'Well, anyway, you're going the right way. Your combat techniques and magic have all improved, and that finisher you learnt there should come in handy when you're in a tight spot.'

Sitting down indian, she placed the keyblade on her lap as she leaned back on her palms. Her fingers tapped lightly against the wooden floor wondering what was up; it seemed this class session was overall successful; she'd just need to retain what was presented and not over exert her magic, which idealistically sounded simple enough to carry on. Now she was up and ready to practice her little patooty off until she fell out, but an discomforting chill ran up her spine as he looked over her glasses.
For a moment, she felt like she was going to be chastized or warned; in an odd way it marveled her step father back at home. Not finding much room to say anything, while being pinned with his gaze, she merely stared and hummed in affirmation. Well in her mind she had a purpose, and her eyes flicked down to her keyblade; she had plenty of purposes to keep her engaged, and she knew by default nothing would be easy, especially with what came with the weapon that rested in her lap.
"Great," she looked back up with a cheery grin. Wiggling out of tight spots would be definately need, especially with her being a natural fish bait that glimmers, shines, and dangles from hooks. She could pretty much tackle hug Kuu right now for everything; she was more motivated than ever to get packing and leave this world, since she had some basis to utilize her keyblade and light to the fullest. But they weren't finished with this accord just yet.
"So Master Kuu what do I have to give in exchange? You said this was more of a trade, and I still have my half of this bargain thing, and I know a hug and thank-you's wont cover it," She leaned and wiggle to get her legs uncrossed to stretch them out as her shoes idly tapped each other.
"Hmm I don't really have anything of value..well except this thing, which is particular and finicky itself, and my lucky charm, but you can get any wayfinder from the islands. Hmm what else?"
Kuu blinked, the briefest of moments passing before he got his head around what she was saying. Ah, of course. One of the absolute rules of the Mu - nothing is bought, and nothing is given, only exchanged. It was impossible to leave with what one gained without giving something of equal value in return. He placed his hands together, creating a cage-like shape with his fingers, and spoke, 'Well... first, let me explain. The Mu is a sort of special kind of shop. Like I said before, in fact, it's not even a shop - the best way to put it is "a place of exchange". You only gain as much as you give.'
'The Mu works on a particular set of rules,' he went on. 'One of them is that you can't leave without giving something of equal value to what you gained within the walls. Another is that you have to offer something of the same nature as what you gained. So in this case, I "offered" you (in the broadest of terms, mind) combat, magic, and technique. That means you have to "exchange" it for something similar.'
Kuu tapped the floor thoughtfully. 'The problem being - and I hope you don't take offense from this - the fact that I'm er... just a little better than you at fighting and magic, so... well, it's going to be a bit hard to meet the requirements of the Mu if you're going to leave with everything I taught you still in your head.'
What could Kairi offer in sufficient exchange? I outdo her in both the martial and magical arts, and since she's just starting out, she doesn't know any techniques... wait. There is one thing which she can do that I can't.
'Hey - you can use light magic, right? Can you teach it to me?'

Her eyes widdened at the 'rules' this place had and wondered what the consequences would be if she left as if the very walls of this shop would damn her if a foot was stretched outside of its threshold; she started to get beside her self with her mumbling, "I'm going to be trapped here forever...I'll wither here to bones and dust, while collecting dust."
Mental melting down loading and processing...
Now they'll never find me I'll be confined here like a prisoner. Well I've been held captive before, but not for all of eternity. I'll be bobbling here as an old woman and no matter how much cleaning I'LL BE STUCK IN HERE! HE CORNERED ME TO STAY HEEEEEERE!
"Oh Kingdom Hearts I'm going to grow old in here...," she stared off into space completely zoned out; Kuu's voice made her head drag over to stare at him blankly like a void doll. Her head tilted wondering if she heard him correctly, "light magic?"
She never thought of that; her life wasn't over just YET! Still she was somewhat out of it contemplating over it even if she didn't had much of a coice, "Mm I can try to; it's kind of a natural thing for me being light-hearted and all."
She was coming back to life and sanity as she shook the negativity off with a brushing hand through her hair, "so sorry if I don't articulate things well. Hmmm where to begin...light comes from within, you know your heart. So as long as you have light in you, you can always access it at any given time really...unless you run into inner darkness and conflicts."
"Light is a positive affiliation and works well with positive thinking; I'm not saying darkness is bad by any means. It's just can be a dangerous element that can strengthen with angst, anger, hatred, greed, and can become quite destructive...hence how we have heartless and nobodies about. So without a steady head, you can loose sight of your light or sink to deep in darkness."
Calling away her keyblade, she scooted closer to Kuu, "So close your eyes. For me it's easy to see my light, while others may have to look inward to feel it...riiiight in there."
A finger probbed at his chest, "think of this as...meditating in a sense. Let yourself sink in away from scattered thoughts and home in on your heart. Sometimes it can be easier thinking of someone personal to you, since through our hearts we're all connected. When I feel my light, it's like...a warmth as if there's a pure flame burning inside you. So take a moment to find it, see it, and feel it."
Lifting her knees up, she rested her chin on them, while watching him, "And no worries it's there...I think I can see it. With some people, well those who I know well, in a way I can see theirs hearts no matter if they try to hide it."
She remembered recognizing Riku with ease despite wearing a heartless face.
Kuu couldn't stop the slight tinge of colour from rising in his cheeks at the close contact, so he shut his eyes slightly tighter than necessary in order to mask some of the blush. He felt her finger make contact with his chest, and for a brief moment, he marvelled slightly at the slender gentleness of her touch, still naively intrusive but not unpleasant. But then it was replaced by a sense of surprise at a small unexpected reaction within him, as if something had just fleetingly uncurled a minute distance at the point of contact.
Putting it aside, he followed her instructions. His control over his wind magic was mainly done through his academic knowledge over the force of the air, but this was something different - while it was still magic, it seemed that the elemental medium was paced somewhat differently. He placed his focus on removing his mind of distractions and doubts, aiming to maintain a completely calm and content mindset - then he slowly began to fill it with a concept of warm radiance, allowing his imagination to take over the realms of physical senses to encompass his being. His instincts as a mage then kicked in, and he compressed that sensation into a denser area - his main medium was his hands, so he allowed that energy to travel down his arms and coalesce in his palms.
He opened his eyes, the world briefly appearing brighter - whether it was due to the magic or because he'd been closing his eyes, he couldn't tell - but he could tell before he looked down from the alien warmth in his hands that he had succeeded somewhat. And sure enough, there was a globe roughly the size of an orange of silvery light between his two palms. He raised it up to eye level, both intrigued by its glow and adapting himself to the feel of the new form of magic.
'Wow... so this is light magic,' he said. 'It's definitely something.'
But... how is it that I was able to get it so quickly? It wasn't like I had to picture anything really that happy, just to take my usual meditative exercise down a different channel - it shouldn't have been so simple, especially for someone who didn't even know about light and dark in these hearts or whatever. Is that even a proven medium for magic?
Staring deeper into the sphere of light in his hand didn't help him extract any further answers to the new questions it had raised in his mind.

Some of the light casted over her face as she smiled at it; he caught on to it faster than she thought even if she didn't registered a plausible length of time it would take for him to tap into it. She never had to teach anyone to get a general sense of one's progression in learning it. At least it may one of a few things; he wasn't touched by darkness for any implicated struggles to approach the light, and there still remained the familiarity of the warm-hearted individual she met on the island.
"Mmhm, and you got it down rather quickly. Maybe you were touched by light and never even knew it. The good thing about light is that it's a part of you REALLY apart of you; if anything picture that light....as your own heart." Holding her palm up a ball of light glowed from it, "As long as you're strong, it will be too, and as long as you have faith, light will always be on your side. Never forget that kay?"
Then she began tossing the light from one hand to another like a tennis ball, "So with your light, you can do obvious attacks."
Holding her hand out, she shot a ball out, but it had no where to go or anything to impact so it merely faded after go so far, "Since it's light its naturally attracted to darkness...and nothingness as well I guess. That's how I've been holding up against heartless when I do wander out of the city's perimeter; light is one of the greatest things they fear."
"You also can direct where you like as well, since it's yours to control to the fullest," holding her palm out again the light blasted in a blinding flair, "these things aren't hard to pull off, since it all deals with listening to your heart, instructing your heart, while 'feeling' it altogether."
"It's a complete oneness, so for now...just get acquainted with yourself, since that light is yours, and yours alone." She cupped his hands to hold the bundle like a handful of water, "this something is you, which makes it all the more special."
"Feel it's warmth, your warmth. Look at your brightness. The more you get to know it; you can apply it to a variety of things like you just showed me. I also even heard that light magick can be used for healing like cure spells, but I haven't been able to tried that out, but I'm sure all you have to do is 'feel' it, the need and want to help someone else, then heal them with your own warmth, your own happiness, your love, your light."
Pulling back, she chuckled at herself, "Sorry for being so ....what would Selphie call it...romantic about it, but it's a beautiful thing. I just wish the worlds would see and know of that. If people knew about the light within them and appreciated it, would the worlds be so chaotic? If they even knew how much power they had within themselves, would there be less power hungry greedy people to ravage the worlds of its hearts? My grandma told me a story once...that the Main Light hid itself, because people fought over it; I wonder how many started looking for the light within themselves."
Kuu couldn't help but pull a skeptical smile at that. He didn't consider himself to be entirely averse to all that faithful optimism, but even then he had to take all this talk of happiness and love and light with at least a little pinch of salt. It was a new kind of magic he knew, and the infinite ways in which ones could harness it was one of the joys of studying the magical arts. But even an open mind had to be kept within reason or you'd end up wasting a lot of time trying to believe in something you just didn't. However, Kairi was the boss here, so he guessed that he might as well give it a try.
The moulding of the magic wasn't too different from the way done for most of his other spells. Using the movement of his hands to help, he spun the globe of light in his hand and launched it, sending a bright helix beam in a straight line in front of him, though it dissipated before it hit the wall. Frowning a little, he wondered if he had been off in the shaping of the magic or if he hadn't summoned up enough light to make it a worthwhile attack.
'Wait, let me try again,' he said, focusing on bringing up the magic once more.
The second time, he found it easier to summon the light into his hands. But it was almost frighteningly easy - he didn't like magic to occur without him completely understanding it, as he knew the risks of using magic one could not fully control. Yet it seemed to come out of him in a rush, and light began spilling not just from his hands, but from his forearms as well, and despite his alarm at the sheer amount he could call to his bidding, he couldn't help but feel a peculiar sense of exhilaration -
Stop it.
An intense pain in his chest, and suddenly, like someone had thrown a switch, the light that had surrounded his body was extinguished, and Kuu dropped to the floor, clutching his aching body. The bright whiteness of his mindscape was no more, and all of a sudden deep, dark shadows seemed to spart around the corners of both his mind and his vision. It was like something had burnt him from the inside, and it wasn't going away.

Now she just sat back and watch him develop; it was different from the other perspective. There was a sense of pride to watch him get accustomed as she can genuinely see he had interest in harnessing it with the light fron that dotted on his face. That motivation was adorable if anything else. The teacher sat silently with a happy smile that even twinkled in her eyes as the light engulfed his forearm.
"See you're getting it. Just trust yourself and you can trust-" the light was snuffed out; her brows dipped lightly finding something off about it. She couldn't put her finger on it, but the idea was punted out the window when Kuu hit the floor. This wasn't normal, this reaction after wielding light. Something was off, and she still couldn't put her finger on it.
Getting up on the ball of her feet, she lunged forward to roll him over,"Oh my god oh my god, Kuu what's wrong? Hey, HEY, say something; speak to me."
His answer only confused and concerned her more. Why would his heart be so strained after that? Maybe there was definately more to him then she knew. Why would it be so sensitive with how much light it project? Was there such thing of a delicate heart...or was there darkness involved? Regardless after that, she was unsure in pushing him with it. A hand reached out to brush his snow white hair, "Hey all will be fine...just breath....probably over-exerted yourself."
She wished she can just snap into "Princess of Heart" mode if there was such thing and figure out what was wrong. One would think being dubbed so, she would have some connection with hearts in general, but that was limited to people she was close to...well practically grew up with. Can she even see what's going on even if she truly wanted to help him?
Her free hand rested on his chest, while staring at the spot with a hard question gaze that was borderline a frown. What have you gotten yourself into? Those unknown years of his life left a souvenoir. She'll find out...eventually; she made a silence promise to as light dully luminated her hand. She knew trying to heal or at least coax his heart with her own light would be mediocre and far-fetched, but it was worth the try than just whispering gentle words to calm him down.
As Kairi's hand drew closer to him, a resentful surge of pain bubbled up from his chest and he was suddenly gripped with the almost uncontrollable urge to strike her, to swipe her aside, just get as much distance from her and her light as possible. He was shocked with not just the physical hurt, but the intensity of the repulsion he inexplicably felt.
Get AWAY!
Kuu's fist shook with the effort of keeping it tight against his chest instead of lashing out at the auburn haired girl. He had to get control of the situation quickly, before he really did snap and do something stupid. Focusing on the light he had found earlier, he attempted to manipulate it within him to enclose the strange shadows invading his consciousness. In the back of his awareness, he faintly detected a whirlwind of emotions - confusion, anger, and hurt - fighting against his efforts to surround and contain it by hammering his mind repeatedly. Kuu felt like his head was being kicked in over and over again.
Kairi... Kairi's light. I can use it.
Scrabbling around mentally for Kairi's magical focus, he finally grasped it and connected it with his own light. Suddenly, as if he had just unlatched an unimaginably large door, his entire being was filled with an indescribably pure bright radiance. Within the first few seconds, he had more than he needed, but yet he couldn't stop the flow of light from her to him. It was as if there was something else drawing it from Kairi endlessly, without any sign of stopping. The darkness was pushed back almost immediately, and all of a sudden, Kuu was left with a seemingly infinite amount of light that was overloading his being.
This can't be good, especially for Kairi, he thought. I have to stop this.
With a cry of effort, Kuu pushed Kairi away with both his feet, ripping their bodies apart and breaking the contact through which the light was flowing. He felt the raging torrent slow then settle within him, and he let out a ragged breath, exhausted.
Kairi is definitely not an ordinary girl, he thought, surer than ever of the fact. Such an incredible amount of pure, refined magic that lies within her - not even the most powerful mages could replicate it. And that aside... what the heck was all that about?

A kick to the stomach wasn't the answer she was looking for, and the swift abruptness forced her to exhale sharply. Her concentration of aiding him snapped like a twig, and her light broke away with a crackle before dissappitating. She didn't inhale again until her back was planted on the wooden dojo floor as the initial shock died off.
That was not normal.
Acting on an impulse, she pulled herself up, and her right hand was now weighed down by the keyblade. It came to her without request due to the present circumstances. It didn't look anywhere near normal for someone to reject light. Those with reasons to had a conflicting reasoning; heartless feared it since they light's opposites, and nobodies are overall rejected by it. With that general formula, where does Kuu lie? She didn't feel anything heartless about him; actually it was all on the contrary. She didn't knew so much about nobodies to bridge a connection to this anomaly if they even could be linked. For a moment, her mind flicked over to Riku; why is it the one who may be able to identify this better than her was worlds away?
Either way, she found herself being cautious; this never happened before, so she suspected anything and everything. Naturally she was conflicted in whether to approach him or not for his and her well-being. Wha-what happened to you?
Her eyes stung with the yearn to cry; she felt something was wrong, but had no idea what or had any idea how to allieve it. There was something going on with his heart of all things, and now that she played back everything in her head, she swore she felt something cold and eery within him. She hoped she was just over-thinking all of this including the sudden threatening chill it thrust upon her down her spine when she fed light to Kuu.
For that moment she had linked with his heart, she felt the residue of being empathic; whatever was going on was freaking her out. If only she could shake it off and call the over-cast shadow just an imagination. Still she had to focus on the real world as her eyes looked down at the silver-haired teen cascaded on the floor, "Kuu...you alright."
With anxiety peaking up, while her adrenaline was fluttering down, she could feel exhaustion creeping over her shoulders,"Kuu?"
Kuu didn't think he'd have it in him to answer. He was unnaturally drained from what had just occurred, and he had neither the energy nor the means to work out the reason why. Perhaps it was the effort of attempting such abstract moulding with magic he hadn't yet quite got the full hold of, but somehow, he didn't feel it was because of that. It was not the sort of weariness one felt after using too much magic. No, rather it was more similar to the unsteadiness after using a new muscle one had never used before. Whatever it was, he was spent - he couldn't even turn his head.
No, Kairi... I need to get my act together. I need my body to... come on, sort yourself out!
Suddenly, there was a swell within his body as a warmth expanded throughout him and he could use his fingers again. It was if he had been holding a breath for a very long time and had finally had the chance to take that much-needed gasp of air. Sitting up gingerly, he looked down at his fingers, and saw the fading remnants of light disappearing from his fingertips. He remembered what Kairi said about how light magic could be used to heal, but he hadn't reckoned on it happening like this. Perhaps it was the residue of the massive amount of magic that had seeped into his system, and this was its way of evening out the balance again. He'd work it out later.
'I'm fine,' he said to her. 'I don't know how, but the pain's gone -'
He stopped, as he saw what was glinting in her gaze. Worry, concern, exhaustion, but what pained him most was the insuppressible fear in her eyes - all of a sudden, all those hours spent regaining the time lost between them those long years ago seemed to disappear, and they were back to being strangers. Kuu didn't know how seeing an old friend felt before her, but now he realised how lucky he was not to know just how unpleasant really losing one could be. And he didn't know what to say.
