Two years after the events of Dream Drop Distance, the Darkness became so great that it swallowed the worlds, locking them away within its merciless abyss.
Twilight Town, now covered in eternal night, stands as one of last Sanctuaries of Light. It is where players begin their journey.
Ever resourceful, the Moogles have created a safe place for refugees. They have charged the Denizens of Light with finding Castle Oblivion: it holds a key to the puzzle of the lost worlds.
But within the dark shadows of the sanctuary world a powerful dark force still looms, waiting to strike. Each survivor must choose whether to go to Castle Oblivion or stay behind to protect the world from the dragon that lurks in the shadows.

Star Seeker ( Mog) Depending on distance, Serah’s Moogle companion, Mog, can transform freely between a bow and a sword. He usually changes according to the distance of the enemy, the bow for long distance, and the sword for close up. (Mini Mog Profile) Age:[/b]unknown Powers:[/b] Mogs main ability it to transform into Serah’s weapon. But the Moogle is also rather good at sensing things around Serah and him. This comes in rather handy in new areas. Appearance:[/b] He’s a Moogle. The only thing unusual is instead of a ball on his head, mog has a pink crystal that glows brighter if he’s either found something, or just wants to get Serah’s attention. Personality:[/b] Mog is slightly picky when it comes to people. He doesn’t like to speak to just anyone, but he really likes Serah, so he trusts her judgement. History:[/b] Not much is known. Mog was given to Noel by Lightning so He could give him to Serah. Lightning claiming Mog is Serah’s good charm.
Appearance: Serah is a rather non threatening looking girl that stands at 5 feet 5 inches tall. She has long, layered pink hair that is pulled over to her left side in a ponytail. Serah’s eyes are an icy blue color, and her over all face is very sweet, and generally as a smile, or kind expression.
Serah wears an interesting necklace around her neck at all times. It is a silver sphere that has a hole in it, revealing a crystal in the center, then the necklace spirals down starting from a big spiral, gradually going to a point. On very top of her necklace, there is a ring. This was supposed to represent her engagement to Snow Villers; he has since gone off on his own to look for Serah’s sister Lightning.
As for Serah’s clothing, she tends to wear rather cute and girly clothes. Currently, she wears a little bit of a strange outfit that has been named “Pulse Fashion” by some people who still live of Cocoon. The top of her outfit consists of two toned pink straps that go over her shoulders in a V shape, and cross in the back. The straps connect to a white tube top of sorts that stops just below where her ribs end. Just under her chest however, is where her “skirt” starts. It’s almost a triangular shape in a maroon color on the front and back, and the bottom is trimmed with white. On both sides of her body, she has a flap that’s made of a lighter pink, white, and gold fabric. Up near her hest again, Serah has a metal looking plate, and a few other metal items. The sides of her shirt have the same kind of ribbon straps crossing in an diamond shape on both sides.
On Her upper arms, Serah wears an armband on each. Her right is a gold version of the arm bans worn by her sister, and on the left is another more decorative armband to hide where she once had a L’cie brand. Serah wears gray gloves on her hands, and they also have the same maroon/ pink trim on the top. Serah wears leg warmers that go up past her knees that are all of the previously mentioned colors, but have a black sort of cuff at the bottom. A paint of gold wings are also painted at the bottom. Serah wears a pair of Velcro strapped white and light purple, low heeled boots on her feet. Lastly, Serah wears a thin decorative gold belt that holds up a bag on her side, to easily carry things.
Personality: Serah is very good natured. She has in mind what is best for everyone else before really thinking about herself. She’s very sweet, and seems to be rather innocent minded unless you get to know her, or get her on a more serious topic. She also can seem rather frail, or helpless, at times; but a lot of those sort of habits died down after both Lightning and Snow left her and she had to live on her own. Her journey with Noel Kreiss also helped her to grow into a much stronger minded young woman. Serah is a very good listener, but is not afraid to question things, or people she doesn’t understand. She is a very curious person and sometimes that can get the best of her. She is the kind of person who likes to know a lot about the situation at hand before acting. Serah isn’t the type of that would forget someone once she’s met them, and makes friends quite easily. She is unusually trusting. This could be considered good or bad. She seems to believe that everyone has the best intentions, even if they really don’t, if they smile and tell her everything will be ok, she may actually believe them unless she knows otherwise. Lastly, Serah can have a bit of a temper. As Noel once said: “As quick as Lightning, she could turn from smiling angel to angry ogre.” It is probably best not to get on Serah’s nerves. This is rather difficult to do, considering Serah is rather patient, but it is almost a flick of a switch if she is to become upset.
Original World: Cocoon / Bohdem Current World: Traverse Town
Movie/Video Game(s): Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2
History: (FF13 history) Serah grew up on a world called cocoon, a world basically floating in the sky above the world called Grand Pulse. Specifically, Serah grew up in the sea side town of Bohdem. While she was very young, her parents died, leaving her older sister Lightning to take care of her. The two of them became very close.
At the age of 18, and about to head off to college, Serah’s life started to rapidly change. First, she fell in love with a man named Snow Villers. Then soon after she became a L’cie, an evil race on Cocoon, due to her own curiosity of a local landmark called the Vestige. Everything started to go down hill from there, as she soon, had to tell Snow that she could no longer see him, and then had to find some way to break this news to Lightning. After all, it was her duty both as a soldier placed with keeping the piece, and as her older sister, to deal with her. A few days after becoming a L’cie, Serah goes out with Snow to find a birthday present for Lightning. She gets her a survival knife to help protect her while on duty. At the same time, Snow slips away to buy the engagement necklaces that they both wear, and “pops the question”. Later, Snow accompanies Serah to tell Lightning about her being a L’cie, and their engagement. Lightning is nothing short of furious and pushes them out of her house. Serah and Snow then go off to attempt to talk with the Fal’cie, which is strictly off limits. It ends up capturing her and inevitably bringing the group that will carry out the rest of the story together, herself turning to crystal.
After the rest of the group defeats Orphan, and the balance is restored, Serah awakens from her crystal sleep, and greets snow, and hugs Lightning, telling her that she is sorry, and then gets her blessing for Serah and Snow to get married.
Or so Serah thinks. (FF13-2 ) The rest of the group is convinced that Lightning was never there to begin with, and she is helping to “hold up Cocoon”, along with Vanille and Fang.
Life goes on for Serah, as Cocoon starts to become less inhabitable. She, and the NORA group move down to Pulse, and make a village named New Bodhum. Serah becomes a grade school teacher there, and everything seems happy, but Lightning is still gone. Snow also makes Serah a promise, he’ll go search for Lightning, and won’t return without her. Serah then lived on at the NORA house, waiting for them both to return… but she had dreams about them and no one will listen to her when she says that she thinks Lightning is still alive somewhere, not in the pillar of Cocoon like everyone else believed. -New Bodhum- One night, a meteor started to fall from the sky, and everything seemed to change again. Now 21 years old, Serah awoke from a dream again, and found herself in new clothes, and in the middle of a battle. She soon met a young man named Noel, who assists in their fight, and claims to know her sister. He gives her a Bow/blade, which is actually a Moogle named Mog, to fight with. Noel states that this is a gift from Lightning, and is Serah’s good luck charm. Not long after Noel tells everyone that he is from 700 years in their future, in the time of the end of the world. No one really believes him at first, not even Serah. But soon she warmed up to the idea. After finding an artifact, they left New Bodhum after the goodbyes from the NORA group. -Bresha Ruins 5 AF- The first world they encounter on their quest through the Historia Crux is Bresha Ruins, only a few years into Serah’s future. They fight a large invisible giant, Atlas, who just appears as a giant arm at first, until they are “assisted” by PSICOM ships. Serah attempted to obtain their help and her and Noel are arrested. Not long after, a young scientist named Alyssa helps them out. She helps them discover the way to defeat atlas. Then the two are on their way again. -Yaschas Massif 10AF- For normal people, five years have passed. The world is dark, suffering from a solar eclipse, 500 years before Noel was even born. After exploring further, and fighting a few monsters, they made it to the main inhabited area of this dark place. They find no one other then Hope Estheim, who is now the director of the Academy. They also run into Alyssa again. Hope shows off something they had discovered, the Oracle drive, where visions of the future are stored. It shows Lightning fighting in Valhalla. They then learn about the Farseers and the Seeres named Yuel. Hope gives them an artifact and they are soon on their way again.
-Oerba 200 AF- The next world is Oerba, the former home of Vanille and Fang. Oerba is being devoured by darkness all around it. After solving many paradoxes however, it disappears leaving Oerba empty and basically lifeless…. except for a garden of flowers. There Serah and Noel met Caius Ballad and Yuel for the first time. Caius tells them that they need to be punished for their crimes and naturally, a fight breaks out. Yuel however stops the fight and warns Serah about the future before leaving with Caius.
-The Void Beyond- The group takes a short trip back to Yaschas Massif, and the world is bright again. They go back to hope and the Oracle Drive, where it now shows images of Cocoon falling. Noel then explains Cocoon fell a long time before his birth, and put his world in the state that it was in. The next world was a little odd. It resembled that of Valhalla, but unfortunately was not it. Serah gets a little frustrated here, but Noel soon calms her down. “Every time we pass through a gate, we get closer to lightning… sound good?” Noel tells her before entering the next gate.
–Sunleth Waterscape 300 AF- While exploring Bresha again, Serah has her first vision. A giant flan causing havoc in a forest, and… Snow? Serah runs off in a hurry to find Snow. She soon finds him on the ground near the giant flan “Royal Ripeness” and helps him up. Noel joins in again soon after. The group talks about the crystal pillar, and the miniflan that must be signifying a paradox. They also learn why Snow started to travel trough time. Serah and noel soon leave Sunleth, without Snow, to try and fix the miniflan paradox.
A short trip to the coliseum happens after this, and Noel makes a deal with the Arbiter of Time to give them the artifact that had been bad for the coliseum. Noel then displays distrust for Snow, and Serah fights him back on it.
Another short trip occurs, this time to Archylte Steppe.( fave song of soundtrack X3) Serah and noel have to do a few things around this time before figuring out the paradox on Sunleth has to do with a large dragon in this time. Once the dragon was defeated, back to Sunleth.
Snow naturally was not waiting for them, and instead decided to take “Royal Ripeness” on on his own. Noel chews him out for this, and generally Snow’s actions in general. The group then defeats the giant flan, and Snow begins to fade away, leaving Serah clinging to his back, and begging him not to go. Snow claims “ A Hero never fades” before vanishing.
-Academia 400 AF- Serah and Noel get dropped into the Void beyond again, but after talking get taken to Academia 400 AF. ( worst world ever >.< ) Caius appears before them again, threatening to kill them for tampering with the timeline. He then disappears, forcing Serah and Noel to chase after. Eventually the to find Yuel after being attacked by thousands of Ceith. An ugly monster called a Zenobia then lifts and throws Yuel to the ground. Serah and noel fight it, then Noel cradles Yuel in his arms. Yuel soon dies, and leaves an artifact behind. Noel then tells Serah about the curse of the Farseers. Each time they have a vision of a changed future it brings them closer to death. Yuel had died many times, and always very young.
– Augusta Tower- Hope creates a proto-Fal’cie in his attempt to keep Cocoon in the air and prevent the fall that killed so many people. They soon discover how ever that nothing here is as it seems. They find a clone Alyssa, and then find out the real hope and Alyssa where assassinated. The tower sends out dozens of monsters then, trying to kill them since the knew too much. At the top of the tower, they see Yuel again, the same one from Oerba. Yuel explains more things about what had been happening, why lightning disappeared, and about the fate of the timeline. After going through another gate, Serah and noel are thrown into a battle against Hope’s Proto Fal’cie. No matter what strategy they try, nothing seems to work. Finally Serah screams at hope in frustration “Hope your machines are driving me nuts!” Then suddenly, it was gone. Serah then has another vision, and falls into Noel’s arms. – Academia 4XX AF- The world where the Proto Fal’cie was never created. Academia is far more peaceful now, and Hope and Alyssa still alive. Hope then sends Noel and Serah on a mission through time to find gravitational cores so he can lift Cocoon on his own. When they return again, Alyssa gives Serah and Noel a booby-trapped artifact.
Serah, Noel and Mog are then separated from each other in the Historia Crux.
– The void beyond - Serah wakes up alone in the Void beyond. She finds several Yuels on her way to Etro’s throne. She then has to fight Caius on her own. Caius tells Serah that Noel quietly accepted his fate, death, and was now after Serah. She did not give up easily. Caius used his power of Chaos to freeze Serah, and then stabbed her through the chest after telling her their meddling was over.
Serah awakens again back on New Bodhum. Back in her old clothes, and everyone she loves is there… even lightning. But Serah can’t remember someone… Everyone just says that she’s being silly, but Serah being Serah doesn’t just let it slide. She finds Lightning who offers her this dream for eternity. Serah declines. Serah runs back to the location of the gate, trying to escape this dream and is greeted by Vanille and Fang. Fang opens a space time distortion so Serah can retrieve Noel from his own dream. Serah wanders around the Dying World until she spots Noel. She chases after him, trying to get his attention. A lot of Noel’s memories are displayed then Serah is finally able to reach Noel, and saves him as well, just before he gives up hope.
–New Bodhum 700 AF – Serah and Noel appear here next. Serah’s hope in New Bodhum, destroyed. After wondering, Lightning Finally appears and gives them information. “Hey Lightning… we’ll be able to be together again.. right? After all this is over?” Serah asks, to no real reply. Lightning responds “One thing at a time Serah.” and leaves.
- Academia 500 AF- The last time period on their journey. The city is now filled with confusing gold puzzles and moving platforms. They find Caius a few more times before finally engaging in their last battles with him. Hope and Sazh help best they can in the fight with the academy ships. Caius then warns Serah that even if she saves the future, she will not live to see it, but Serah does not care.
The last place they end up in is Valhalla: the place where time doesn’t flow as it should. Noel attempts to reason with Caius so that he does not have to kill his friend, and he doesn’t have to continue to destroy the timeline to save Yuel. Unfortunately Caius grabs Noel’s sword from him at the end of this battle, and stabs it through his own chest. Serah attempts to comfort Noel, and then the world starts to look bright again.
They step through the final gate Everything seems happy. Serah and Noel stand atop an airship piloted by Sazh. Serah then turns to Noel. “Noel…. Thank you.” Is the final thing she says before her eyes show the sign of Etro, her final vision. Serah then dies and is pulled into Noel’s arms.
-Requiem of the Goddess- ( - I’ve only seen the end, and twice, so forgive me~ )
After some time had passed, Serah’s body would appear in Valhalla, where her sister, Lightning would mourn over her death. Serah’s spirit however, wanted a last word with Lightning, so after a rather sad goodbye, Serah asks: “Promise me Lightning. Promise you’ll remember me.” before finally fading away. Lightning then froze herself, to preserve her memory of Serah for Eternity.
( my plot ) However, that would not be needed. Before finally passing away, the goddess preformed one last miracle for the group of which she had tried to help. She freed them all from her curse, granting them all life again… Human life. So Serah would soon be reborn again. Unfortunately, the heartless where already working on nomming Pulse, and Bhunivelze when Serah was reborn. So instead of waking up in her home world, which was what was supposed to happen, she would awaken in Traverse Town.
Role Playing Sample:
Death, wasn’t as bad as people had set it out to be. It was just like being a crystal, accept… finally… Serah’s mind was allowed to sleep. There was nothing for her to do any longer, but being blessed by the goddess, all Serah’s sleeps would come to an end.
Serah awoke in a dark place. She opened her eyes… but still saw nothing. “W-What?” she asked quietly. Serah knew of her fate, and what had happened to her. The last thing she had done was finally being with Lightning again. How is this possible? How am I…. alive? She thought to herself. Serah sat up. She could tell that she was in her own body. It was dark, but se could make out the shapes of her own arms and legs. Why was I reborn? Am I fated to be just like Yuel? Caius is gone… so how is that even possible? Serah’s head was swimming with questions, but no one was around to answer any of them. Serah shakily got to her feet and started walking, trying to find out where she was… if anywhere. “Serah… wait for me Kupo~” She heard a voice call to her faintly. “M-mog!? Mog where are you!?” she called to her Moogle companion. Suddenly, Mog’s pink crystal lit up as he seemed to regain life as well. Serah spotted this light, and immediately grabbed and squeezed the poor Moogle. “Mog! Oh thank goodness, I’m not alone!” Serah almost cried happily. Mog let out a little chuckle “I’m happy to see you too Kupo!” “Mog, is anyone else here?” Mog wiggled out of Serah’s arms and cast his sensing spell. “Not that I recognize Kupo. No Noel or Lightning or Snow.” He said a little sadly. “How weird. Well, Mog can you lead the way, it’s dark and I have no idea where we are.” “Sure Kupo! Don’t worry Serah! We can figure things out, just you wait. I’m sure if you’re ok, everyone else is too Kupo!” Serah smiled happily. “Thanks Mog.” She said and held the Moogle in her arms again, before letting him fly ahead. He was rather easy to spot thanks to his glowing pink crystal on his head. But that wasn’t the problem, more so it was maneuvering around what seemed like... an alley way in the dark. Suddenly Mog’s crystal grew much brighter, signaling he had found something. “Serah! I found lights, and a street kupo!” he called too her. “Good job Mog!” she said and hurried a little. She met the Moogle near the entrance of a street. This place looked strange. “This place reminds me of Academia, in the time where the Proto Fal’cie still existed, and the Ceith roamed free.” “You’re right Kupo! It does seem a lot like it, but I don’t think we are in Academia Kupo…” “ I don’t think so either, I wonder what time this is….” Serah continued to look around curiously. “We should find someone and ask Kupo!” “ Right, Let’s go!”
