In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Rikku looked at the triangle custard thingy that sat in her plate, then looked at Merida; Rikku never indulged in these...pies whatever pies were. Her inquisitive nature poked at the crust and watched crack with a pressuring fork. Blinking at it curiously, her head titled and poked at it again until getting some jelly-like innards. It looked gooey, and a cold shudder ran up her spine thinking of those forsaken flans that would ambush her at the opportune moment. It wasn't making a miffed kitten face and attacking her, so this treat wasn't demonic or alive by no means.
Being called an apple pie, Rikku assumed that the slices within it...where apples. Apples were safe, so she placed her best bet there. Plucking up a slice, she bit into it; it was softer than what she was used to, and the heat was enough to scorch her tongue. Flailing, she backed up and eyes the forked as if it cast a spell on her, "Be careful."
Green spiraled eyes narrowed at it as if its under questioning, "It's...hot."
Looking at her new housemates, Rikku watched them wondering who was going to take the first bite. Rapunzel sat across from her asking how was this...pie.
"It cast fire on my tongue," the Al Behd chirped before blowing on the slice of fruit, then ate it, "Mmmm sweet."
If her pies can be this intriguing and edible, hopefully her dinners can keep the girls sated for their stay; Rikku wasn't going to let a legit cook slip by. She could only eat messily sandwiches for so long.
{All right, everyone, I really think we should wrap this thread up. This is going to be my last post as Merida in this thread, since there's little that can happen now that requires character development for her - unless something happens that she absolutely needs to respond to. I just have a lot of threads I'm keeping track of right now, and this one's been going on for ages and I think we all already know what happens at the end of it - Rapunzel moves in, the three live together as unlikely friends for several months. Also, it's worth saying that I have pretty much zero muse for this thread right now.}
The pie looked like no pie Merida had ever seen; sure, she was used to an abundance of pastries, but this pie was unusual to her. Rapunzel had called it an "apple pie," though, and being she was incredibly fond of apples and pastries, she figured it would probably be a good thing.
"How'd ye faind all th' ingred'ents t' scraipe this together, Ah wonder?" Merida mused aloud, staring at the slice on her plate. She chortled a little when Rikku burnt her tongue - hadn't she seen the steam rising off of it? it was obviously quite hot - and took care not to make the same mistake, blowing on her own slice before taking a bite.
Ahh, but that was good! She swallowed, hastily digging into the rest of her slice. This 'apple pie' was quickly rising to the top of her favorite foods; after all, considering its combination, that was hardly a surprise. Rapunzel's earlier comment of her mother simply calling it "all right" seemed like a downright insult after taking a delicious bite.
When she'd swallowed the last bit of crumbs - aye, she'd been a mite hungry - she let out a rather unladylike burp (ah, that felt good) and looked Rapunzel squarely in the eyes. "Ah reckon yer mum's off 'er heid fer sayin' sooch things," she said in pragmatic tones - though it still managed to be a compliment (if Rapunzel could dissect what she'd said through her accent). With that, Merida let out a lion's yawn, stretching up.
"Ah think it's taime fer bed," she said, cheerfully, and rising. She figured Rikku would take care of the blond. She walked out of the kitchen, giving the two of them a slight wave of her hand, before stumping up the stairs to Yuna's bedroom.
