In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

Seeing as not everyone has a ready way to get about worlds, I’d like to propose a Moogle Taxi service.
In the Final Fantasy canon, as well as the KH one, Moogles are depicted as creatures who are inventive and ambitious service providers. IN FF9 they offer a mail service, 12 they run the elite monster hunting faction, in KH they offer synthesis and shops… so why not taxi services?
As I have it in my head: they will only serve specific locations, and offer trips to specific worlds. They will not offer trips to more volatile worlds, and their destinations could change from time to time should a world or another become embroiled in strife.
To avoid abuse of this, PCs will need to negotiate with the moogle taxi’s to obtain their service – moogles will want something in return. Payment, a favor done, etc. Maybe slowly introduce a munny system and a mini quest system for people to do. A job board when a citizen hires an aspiring hero to take out some Heartless infesting their basement or the like and pays/rewards them for it (another idea to perhaps expand upon in a later thread. Sounds like something that could get activity up).
Discuss – but please, not to the point of oblivion. Some of you know what I mean.
I absolutely love this idea. I think it'd be really fun to have the Moogles hand out mini-quests versus the whole munny system. Granted, a munny system eventually being introduced could be useful later on. But, I think for now the mini-quest system would be absolutely wonderful. It'd add some interesting plot things for characters and it's just glorious. <33 I wholeheartedly approve.
Yeah, I'm totes for this idea, as you know, Cade. My suggestion for worlds: perhaps "hub worlds," the ones were people from destroyed worlds most commonly sprout up in? For instance, Radiant Garden and Twilight Town. Traverse Town would be harder to get to, for Ice Queen reasons (which could be a plot point later on!), and maybe we could include Destiny Islands in the mix. Maybe it'd slowly reach out to the smaller, more specific worlds as time passes, but a three-world chain - Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, and Destiny Islands - would be nice and not-so-confusing at the current time.
Zidane is jacking taxi's and stealing munny like a boss
I see a lottt of potiential in this. I see those moogles asking for a bunch of random things, whether they be Kupo Nuts, or taking down heartless or saving someone.
Not only that, I can see this as a way to get more people to head to those uncommon worlds. I suppose the mods/interns can collaborate on moogles and stuff, especially to prevent abuse. We don't need people world hopping for dumb, mundane reasons.
Also I vote that Zidane gets free privileges 'cause he knows like a bunch of them and saved Mognet
Editz: Darn, everyone got everything. Also there's still the classic mail delivery...there's potential to hold contests with the moogles as well.

It would be nice to have such travel service around to make things easier and much more dynamic when it comes to people without gummi ships. But then again, that would also make "looking for traveling companions" plots pretty much pointless and useless since now everyone and their grandmother would be able to hop from world to world.
But if it's well done o.o sure, green flag from Shunny.
However, I am completely and utterly opposed to the munny system proposal. Let's just say my experiences with such perks haven't been satisfactory enough to make me want it here too @.@ plus the site's way too developed story and character-wise to just make it pop up out of the blue.
But then again, that would also make looking for traveling companions plots pretty much pointless and useless since now everyone and their grandmother would be able to hop from world to world.
Well, the way I see it at least, is that if people still want traveling companions, having a transportation service at the ready won't render that impossible. Plus, some of the things that the Moogles will want done might be easier with multiple people, or it might need multiple people to get done at all.
Plus, how are they gonna do future threads by themselves? XD But yea, I think that if people want traveling companions, then they'll still be able to get them.

"But then again, that would also make looking for traveling companions plots pretty much pointless and useless since now everyone and their grandmother would be able to hop from world to world."
The last time a transporting system like this was pitch; this was the sort of comment that slowed it down into nothing. He was so concerned that ti would just 'ruin' the good thing he had with a group of charries, which makes me want to go the 'entirety of this rp isn't solely about those people on a personal scale, so why should it dictate the grand scheme.'
Too many people feel stuck and can't move sensibly. So...why should we stunt those numerous people...just because of an egoistical thought that it endangers your bffs and finding other rpers to play off of IC. If your charrie lack friends...that's their IC personal problema (along with other stuff like inactivity and other what nots).
On the flip side, I think it may call for more interacting with people, because you're not bound by locations.
My Concern:
It'd take more effort and work to pull it off. the mini quests; I don't know how extensive it is, but seeing how we're not the smoothest chugging machine, this thing being a popular route of travel, and maybe high in demand...it may be overwhelming to do and keep up.
Idealistically it sounds fun, but given how WD is, simplicity is the best thing ever. You might as well have FF 12 crystals and just have people hop worlds. It's as if...the more moderation it needs (go find a moogle, do a request, finish the request)...it'd be harder to keep afloat.
Also I know the munny system has been brought up enough times, and every time it never sailed.
The dislikes and common usage on other sites: + dictate it by post counts People don't like to judge it by posts, because some rpers may have the case of quantity over quality, and they'll be the richest of the lands even if they are BETTER rpers out there.
+ they buy crap mainly power upgrades That pretty much detaches the relativity of charrie growth and gaining munny...to go buy a spell and upgrade.
I've seen it done with potions, gummiships, weapons. I wonder if people are trying to hard to simulate a MMORPG.
I think that a lack of moderation is required to be honest. Simply put, in other RP's they don't require you to post how you rode a horse to the nearby castle or bought a flightpath.
I get it- the worlds are separate. People are supposed to be stuck. But the entire story is based around how the walls have fallen, how the Worlds are open again. Nobody should be stuck on their World. If anything, since the walls have collapsed once more Gummi pieces should be easy to come by. Remember that the remnants of said walls crashing down on the Worlds they protect are what Gummi ships are made of. Therefore, it'd be easy to say that Gummi has become a commodity at this point.
I'm gonna ask you all to hold off on posting further here for a sec... I'd like to make a post addressing what has already been presented. Gimme time to cobble it up kthxbai. @.@
Edit: Alright, before I address some of the ideas/concerns you all presented, let me get one thing out of the way: please do not discuss the currency topic. I stated that THAT is an issue for another table (which may or may not be flipped), so please let’s focus on one topic, and one topic alone in this thread, which is transportation between worlds. One step at a time, alright? Alright.
Travel General
So, first thing I’d like to address is something Ellie brought up:
You might as well have FF 12 crystals and just have people hop worlds.
This. When I used the term “Moogle Taxi Service,” I was just being very metaphorical. The Moogles don’t HAVE to drive taxi’s or gummi ships. My initial idea was that they just provided a way for people to travel, and FFXII is a perfect, canon example of how the Moogles in the KH universe could do it. Simple, and instantaneous.
Now, regarding Syn’s comments about the potential of gummi ships being easily obtained: I understand where you’re coming from, but honestly I can’t see just about anyone and everyone obtaining a gummiship. While the materials are plenteous, there is still few in canon that know how to construct the ships and maintain them. Also, we can’t have EVERYONE getting their own gummiship… not right off the bat. And with most characters it wouldn’t make sense for them to… just have… a gummiship… We don’t need the plot convenience fairy handing them out. In the end I think owning a gummiship is a special privilege that people should work towards, and we really should not be too concerned with unless we plan on doing giant space battles with them. But that’s for another (flipped/un-flipped) table.
Traveling Companions?
Ellie and Doogie have both brought up both valid points. Don’t worry Shun, looking for traveling companions plots will not die out. It’s always more fun to travel with friends… and it’s dangerous to go alone, take this.
To Quest or Not to Quest
Hilariously enough… Those who are in favor of the quests are mostly regular members. Those generally opposed? Staffies.
Yes fellow staffies. I understand your dismay and your… inclination to not want to do quests. We’re understaffed, we’re busy with school, etc. etc. Trust me, I understand your qualms.
Again, it’s just a side proposal to the whole travel thing, to make it more interactive and give the member something more to do, activity, something this site so desperately needs.
I could think of an alternative to it, though: makes the quests only applied to going to SPECIAL locations. Like a world where an event is going on.
Say Doogie wants to go to wonderland. Well, Doogie goes to the moogles to take their crystal or whatever there, but the moogles, who in the past let people go there freely say “ehh… it’s… kinda not safe there right now. I can’t in good faith let you go.” But Doogie really wants to go to Wonderland, since now he’s enticed. What’s this? Trouble? Sounds interesting. Now I really need to go. So Doogie persists. Eventually the moogle relents, but there’s a cost: “fine, I’ll send you there! But first you need to do me a favor.” Doogie goes do a short quest for him, turns it in, and then viola, the moogle sends him on his way with a few parting words: “don’t say I didn’t warn you, kupo!” /example
And appetizer, you can call it. A small quest before the bigger one. when one is actually active
Hub Worlds
Quoting Ren for awesome brainstorming:
My suggestion for worlds: perhaps "hub worlds," the ones were people from destroyed worlds most commonly sprout up in? For instance, Radiant Garden and Twilight Town. Traverse Town would be harder to get to, for Ice Queen reasons (which could be a plot point later on!), and maybe we could include Destiny Islands in the mix. Maybe it'd slowly reach out to the smaller, more specific worlds as time passes, but a three-world chain - Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, and Destiny Islands - would be nice and not-so-confusing at the current time.
I like this idea. It’ll need to be mapped out, but I could see only specific world accessible from certain hub points, and hub points being all connected.
Here’s a quick image that I drew up in paint to kinda get what I’m thinking across: Click Me!
And of course The World That Never Was is left out of that loop entirely. one does not simply walk into the world that never was.
Having hub worlds may require more traveling to get to a desired location, but it’ll serve to foster more exploration and more importantly, members doing something.
That’s enough brain vomit for naow. Mousey needs tea and a table to flip. Further thoughts are now welcome. And remember, please no de-rails~ @.@

-thumbs-up at hub world map- That's really legit, I really like this idea. It forces people to intermingle on different worlds... it'd be interesting if the "taxi crystals" were spread out, so people would be forced to do at least a little bit of traveling - say, one thread's length - before getting to the next crystal, in an attempt to intermix cultures so people can learn from one another and maybe JUST MAYBE we all become better for it. but that thought's leaning on philosophical so I'll just go back to the topic at hand.
my only problem is, of course, access to Traverse Town; if Ellie could illuminate Jadis's policies on what can come in and out and whether or not the establishment of taxi crystals in her domain would be a thing she could consider, that would be swell. But if the Moogles did end up hooking up to Traverse Town, that map is really pretty nifty. I personally like how most of the "darker worlds" - sans Olympus Coliseum, but that's got the Underworld, so meh - are linked to Traverse Town, as that particular hub world has a bit of a shadier feel to it than RG or Twilight Town... and I like how the other two "hub worlds" - Disney Castle and Destiny Islands - are linked to what is probably the biggest "hub world" and the one with the most connections to it... this whole "hub world" connection is just really well thought out, I like it a lot.
and hey, there's also a chance that a crystal could randomly break down and/or be destroyed by hostiles, especially when they're newer and maybe not so stable, or if too many people try to use it in a too short period of time... this could lead to various oh noes, like "I can't get back to my home world!" or "dang it, that's where I was trying to go" or "this doesn't affect me at all, it's not one of the crystals I cared about"
on the topic of traveling companions: maaaan if people want companions they'll find them. Some people find plenty of ways to get off world without making friends; it's all up to user discretion. and people that randomly turn up in worlds because their home was destroyed - ala Merida - wouldn't realistically want to do a whole bunch of world-hopping without getting some information or rest first, and both of those things require interactions with other RPers. of course there are always the noobs that are like 'MUST GO EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME' buuuuut that's a discussion for a different time because it involves my opinions of whether or not people like that should even be allowed on this site, WD being intermediate/advanced and all... we're too lenient on them, myself included, but like I said, discussion for another time
the crystals as a method of transport is great... what was the other thing? OH. QUESTS. yes quests are neat! It gives people something to do besides wander. Basically everything Cade already said, I'm gonna vouch for. And hey, if you don't want to do a quest, I'm sure whomever you're RPing with that's being a Travel Moogle can just say "yeah man, go on through" (there are exceptions, of course, like if that taxi crystal really is broken down, then we can't bend site canon for an unwilling quester). But regular members need something to do. They can't just be content with reading, say, Rising Storm and then posting back and forth on a thread that's been going on for weeks that's just another "welp I'm still stuck here" thread. If people get stuck on worlds, RPs have the potential to turn horribly like The Sims: make a house, get some roommates, go get groceries, maybe a job, and basically just real life plus some Heartless or Nobody fighting in the side. People that have Dark XII or Org XIII members may be all like "nawww man we gots the plot" but the large amount of normal RPers that don't have access to that kind of plot can quite possibly get stuck in a sort of Kingdom Hearts/The Sims limbo. Maybe that's a bit drastic - some find ways around it - but, long story short, taxi crystals can offer quests and new places to go, which keeps the RP fresh and exciting.
To wrap this thing up, lemme just say that I hate The Sims 3 for the PS3 and would not recommend anybody buy it. You can't even build your own neighborhoods, what's up with that??? And I've been wanting to get into The Sims for AGES but ugh. it's just not good.
