In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

"Not yet," Zephyr said, near pleading. "Just a little while longer." She was warm, for once, and comfortable, as comfortable as one could be lying on their side on a hardwood floor. The way Leo was treating her as something exotic and treasured was so different from how the rest of society viewed her. Even to her own people she was nothing more than a freak, someone who deserved not their esteem but ridicule and ostracism. No one had ever considered her like Leo had, even her Master, who still had to be convinced she could perform the tasks he required. And after everything that had happened—losing Jispo, her Guardians, her world—the thought of losing this moment too made her anxious and distraught. She liked the attention and she did not want to give it away for something as petty as sleep.
The fire's essence filled the room, the log crackling in her ears, the flames dancing in her eyes, the heat enveloping her in a warm embrace. Zephyr did not want to move. She wanted to stay here, on the floor, in front of the fire, with Leo. She thought of his tale of sacrifice that forced his kin to ascend into spiritual forms. What was it like to have family and friends that would die for you? It was curious to her, she who had never known another Tamerran to care for her so much they would die in her stead, even her own blood. It was why she cared so much for her Guardians.
"Tell me about your family," she said.

"My family, eh? Well, it is indeed true that royalty often makes for a good family. But I can honestly say my family wasn't much different then other families of the Forest. My dad was the main leader, and he made diplomatic decisions. My mother raised my sister and I, teaching us magic and how to rule when our time came. She often let us play with the other kids, whether or not they were of royalty like we were. We had a good life."
As he took a pause, the fire crackled and spit out embers, creating a comfortable and surreal scene. He looked to the fire, then to her, with a little smile. Even though she was on the ground, she looked comfortable, for once, and he pondered asking her a question.
"Anything else you curious about?
Living in fear that no one will hear your cries

A steady, rhythmic breathing was the answer to Leo's question as Zephyr, curled up on the floor as she was, wrapped in a blanket in front of the fire, was fast asleep. Despite her best attempts, despite her desire to keep this moment and hold on to it forever, her eyelids had grown too heavy, and exhaustion finally bore its full overbearing weight on the poor girl. She slept soundlessly, her arms wrapped around herself, the blanket holding her in its tight embrace. A spot of drool began pooling from her open mouth.
Tomorrow when a new day would dawn, Zephyr would start her new life. A new life in a new world, without her Guardians, without Jispo, all alone. Nightmares would come, that was inevitable, but they were far off in the night, and neither she nor Leo would come to expect when they'd arrive. Right now, however, at that moment, while Leo talked of his family and Zephyr drifted off to sleep, she was for once at peace.
With a small smile, Leo watched as the winged girl drifted to the land of her dreams. As the fire flickered, he watched her, not as if she were prey, but with a mild curiosity. She had lost so much in such a little time... She didn't deserve this. Such a loss would have broken him to the core. Yet she fought, and she fought well. With a silent hope that she would avoid nightmares for the time being, he laid his head down on the couch, not having the energy to get up and walk to his bed. Or maybe it was because he felt safe around the girl. Who could tell?
Certainly not the Prince. Within seconds, he was in his own land of dreams. Dreams of tomorrow, of the future... Tomorrow was a new day.
