In a cataclysm known as the Nightfall, the worlds were almost completely destroyed by a harrowing surge of darkness.
In the shadows of the ensuing chaos a new group has taken shape. Led by an Aegyl named Kalos, the 11th Hour touts an esoteric knowledge of how to combat the darkness and restore the worlds. They might be the worlds’ best chance at survival; but nobody really knows enough about them to confirm or deny their claims.
On the brink of collapse, the universe holds its breath in anticipation. Of restoration? Of destruction? It is up to individuals like yourself to decide.

In addition to the plot summary / concept that you received from another source, Cadence, I would like to add:
-Perhaps in the wake of the over-arcing plot concept aforementioned, we could incorporate Syn's idea on multiple levels. The basic idea would be to have multiple items in the world people could work to attain / strive for. (It would require adding new ideas / items as the old ones become claimed, but I'm willing to take this job myself). Each item would give members a reason to move forward toward something, and with only one viable recipient per item, it creates a friendly and creative momentum that gets people to progress toward something. Whether the item may help the over all story of the site, or just further a character's personal agenda. Some suggestions for treasure items could perceivably include:
1: Unique items (like the treasure Syn mentioned that could be rumored to return a Heart). Perhaps these types of item(s) could be physical, thereby making it the player's choice to use it themselves, or give it to another character (through RP) to return a friend to life.
2: Unique spells: (Something other than the basic element spells most people apply for) -Maybe these could be a special summon, -A weapon enchant that can add elemental damage to a weapon for X number of turns, -Tag-along companions (a fairy or some other tag-along type of character that a person can journey with for the duration of their time on World Destiny.).
3: Keyblades. We have had a pretty tight control over keyblades, and this is understandable, but it would be fun if a cool event / someone seeking in the right place, or so forth could unlock a particular keyblade. Even running purely by the already-known Keyblades, we would have a decent pool to pick from. (Keyblade events could be rarer, but still exist to promote interest within the site.)
I'm sure there could be more items with other uses, but these are just what I was thinking over last night, while I thought of the story. =] I'll try and keep more strictly story-ideas in mind, but I hope this could be augmented additionally. I think Syn made a pretty good point.
1 and 2 of the above aeticle are being worked on in thr Experimental rp. It is still young so I don't have good notes to share just yet but please feel free to join or observe and use whatever is helpful
The X-Blade. Apparently a mystical figure within the Kingdom Hearts world, the pieces (the number of shards can be decided/agreed on, or can just be changed depending on activity) are scattered through interspace (or that's what Cid called the blanks between worlds in the first game). Perhaps we should hold competitions, events, and secret threads/random events in which strong-willed individuals find a shard of the X-Blade. The idea is that it incorporates OC's more into the overall plot, combining all of the pieces to recreate the blade or destroy it, but it also allows a bit of danger, mystery, and suspense-
Because you can't just tell people you have a shard of the X-Blade in your body. Those with the Dark shards are searching for the Light in order to fulfill its rebirth, and the Light seek to purify the Darkness to prevent its creation. It could be a site-wide story/backstory and in the event that someone goes inactive/leaves the piece can just be transferred onto another member. AND it allows multiple ways to obtain said pieces, so all kinds of RPers might chance across one.
And it won't be in an instant. Let's do an arc. Act I, Discovery could focus on the Light discovering the shards
Gimme yer opinions!
--- Will most likely add more later, I'm in a bit of a rush.
BBS would also be in the past, so we could move on to DDD. I'm new, but maybe I could help with the plot. I would consider something happening while Sora and Riku take their exam, but Dark XII wouldn't be included, cause Lea turns good in DDD. Maybe another of Xehanort's allies tries to sabotage Sora's exam, and good characters would try and stop him. Or something like that. I dunno.
Are we still sending pms?? I did that, so I won't talk about any ideas unless it's asked...
Syn asked for opinions on the X-blade, and what I like most about it is the fact that if a character becomes inactive or dropped, the shard in their heart automatically gets transferred to another character. Whatever plot happens, I think this is key, though there needs to be clear communication as to who has what and when shards are transferred. I understand metagaming may be a problem, but I like to trust that we're all experienced enough RPers and good enough writers not to be dumb about it, haha. A private board with those that have shards would keep things private but in knowledge of those characters, so newer members just getting into the plot won't automatically know spoilers and such.
I have personal OC plots I'd like to see come to fruition. I'm working towards those, but those are personal and I think only Zephiris knows what my full plans are. I'm uncomfortable displaying them except to those that are willing to listen. But along these lines, I think OC plots might be the way of the future. There are fewer canons than OCs here, and OCs continue to grow at an exponential rate while the canons are either held by inactive members or not being used, I feel... Take the KH concept, grab some well developed OCs and authors with plans, and help them develop them.

so dude this is when I go...you do know that the Princess of Hearts are what make the x-blade right. Yeah like...that's what KH3 is pretty much about...recapturing them AGAIN but this time knowing they make the x-blade. (Which sounds pretteh dumb :/ since that was attempted in KH1 unknowingly they make the ultimate weapon) Is it a spoiler? Not really...but a plot element.

And this is where we are losing the ability to be unique and interesting because of a plot element that was hashed together under time constraints and thrown on at the end of a game about time travel.
I'm saying screw everything the Kingdom Hearts 3D talked about. Because if we're going to include 3D that means that we are headed directly into that game if we're sticking to the plot. From here I say we make our own story. The time for Princesses are over- sure, they open the Kingdom Hearts of Men. But that's been sealed. What further purpose do they have? Why not have the X-Blade as something tangible and obtainable rather than tying it to canons? We're trying to get away from canons in the first place.
I mean sure, a canonical character can have a fragment, but it shouldn't be bound to just canons.
My deal is, I don't know what happened after Kingdom Hearts II, but 3DS was horrible. The story was just bad. We've seen the X-Blade within people before- Ventus and Vanitas. I don't see any reason why the shards left behind wouldn't find proper hosts, just as the Keyblades did. And if the shards can move then inactivity won't be an issue.
I mean sure, a canonical character can have a fragment, but it shouldn't be bound to just canons.
^ Agreed. My vote, should the Shard concept pass, would be to distribute the Shards to non-canon characters as well, which opens a world of potential for RPers of Original Characters to have a shot at something that makes their Character unique.
I want to tack on an additional point and say that, if the X-Blade shards are voted in, to appoint a volunteer or two whose job is to keep tabs on shards, that way should inactivity happen / a person leaves for good who's in possession of a shard, the person(s) keeping tabs on the shards will be able to redistribute as needed. (Or maybe all that's implied already and I'm typing mindless babble? Could be possible.)

I've actually been kicking about the idea of "fragments of the original X-blade" since BBS. Personally I would like to do something with it. Until then we need to finish up our current plottings first. xD

Now I've always witched about 3D horrid time travel, but time traveling have NOTHING to do with the Princess of Hearts being who they are.
A.) They are the only individuals existing with pure hearts. Why? Oh not only to bring forth the final keyhole, but to also make a key. They are the very fragments of the X-blade from...the genesis of the game series. That is their purpose to always have pure light remain in the worlds no matter what happens.
B.) Ventus and Vanitas was another route into creating it. They didn't have actually shards of the X-blade in them
So yes you can say "let's make our own story", but truth is...that plot device is sound and hardly weak regardless how weak the game it showcased in was. By that...you're picking and choosing what plot element is worth using more by preference rather than...logic and sense. You have nothing solid against the Princess of Hearts' origin.
Also this isn't saying that OC can't shine. Remember you're dealing with a game that have canon, rules, and laws...get over the fact that canons will have importance in some instances. I'm sorry...you can't duplicate Princesses of Hearts; they're like Tiggers...they are the only ones.
Now if you don't want the plot be canon dependent...then don't choose plots that would naturally be connected to canons. Go make an X-blade like Ventus and Vanitas...you don't need a canon for that, but using X-blade shards...sorry...they exist already.
All this talk of shards and pieces confuses me, but I do think at this point, it makes sense to go a little AU. I would love for some kind of discussion on what Kingdom Hearts actually IS. It's treated like an abstract concept in every single one of the games. It's a source of power and knowledge they say. Ok, well, how do you even harness that power? Power to do...what precisely? Knowledge? Is there a really big library inside Kingdom Hearts? Do you plug into it Matrix style, get loaded up with data and wake up saying, "I know kung fu." or what?
If we could solve some of the mystery and make up some stories of our own, I feel like we could generate a plot that is both unique and a part of the Kingdom Hearts universe.
The X-blade was just an example. It doesn't matter if it's canonical or not, I don't care whether it actually happens. I don't care whether princesses of heart are necessary, or whether its canonical for the shards to go to other people. All I am saying is this site is dying, and there's nothing wrong with stepping out of canon/changing things.
We have to be malleable. We have to have an intriguing and immersive storyline. And most of all, we need to create something new. Nothing off the wall, like a complete re-vamp, no. But there are plot elements that we can change, objectives we can set, so let's do it!
Aryn's right- let's actually incorporate Kingdom Hearts this time instead of skirting around its edges for five years. Let's talk about the power it holds and how it could affect the members. How dangerous it would be if the Organization/Dark XII got their hands on it... And specifically, how our members will fight for it.
Is it a race? A competition? Do people know where it is? We know that the Door of Worlds' Hearts is closed- Sora and Mickey locked it years ago- which separated all of the Worlds until they unlocked them again in Kingdom Hearts II. Since those Worlds are once again unlocked, why don't we talk about that having the same mirrored on the original Kingdom Hearts?
TLDR: Locking Kingdom Hearts locked the Worlds, why not have unlocking the Worlds unlock Kingdom Hearts?
And for every Emblem Heartless killed, the Hearts eventually traverse to TWTNW and reform into a new Kingdom Hearts, the Door of Mens' Hearts. We can use this as a plot device as well, provided we have Keyblade users. The Organization and Dark XII could war over the Kingdom Hearts' control.

This. I like it.
It's creepy (to me). It's something we can keep complete control of. It implies a endgame we can see and understand, which provides incentive to stick around. We could actually keep count of exactly how many emblem heartless get killed, and have an exact number of kills to complete Kingdom Hearts. It would provide structure but there's also plenty of room to improvise.
EDIT: I mean...here's a crazy thought. What if the plot surrounded creating and harnessing Kingdom Hearts? I know, I know, "But, Aryn didn't we see that in the games already?" but think about it! If staff members dispatched heartless and it takes I don't know...1,000 killed Heartless to complete Kingdom Hearts, think about how interesting that would be to rp out. There would be real stakes and a real time limit and real control with very simple elements. Keyblades could be earned perhaps by completing certain tasks that test a character's strength of heart or going through certain ordeals.
There could be a gauge that shows exactly how completed Kingdom Hearts is, exactly how many Heartless to go before all hell breaks loose.
The other details would still need to be hashed out, obviously, but the focus would be simple and powerful. Thoughts?

So I have an original idea for an overall site plot, loosely tied to canon, but it's something I think can involve both canons and OCs equally. I talked to Syn and Era about it, who helped me organize and refine my thoughts, so a lot of credit goes to them.
In Chain of Memories we learn that there are chains that link everyone's memories together, and it was this rearranging that was the basis of the game. Let's say these chains all connect to each other's hearts, so what happens when a heart falls to darkness, becoming a heartless? The anchor to that person's heart is shattered, destroying the chain, but something has to continue to exist to remember that person. What if a fragment of that person's heart remains, dwelling in another's?
By the same token, worlds have hearts, and therefore have these same chains that link to its people's hearts and memories. When a world falls to darkness, the very same thing happens. Anchors are shattered, chains are destroyed, but a fragment of that world heart continues to dwell in the people that survive its collapse.
So what happens when someone learns of this and begins collecting these fragments? As the collection grows, they begin to resonate with each other, acting as a sort of compass which could lead them to the Door to Darkness (or the Door of Worlds' Hearts as Syn referred it), which beyond that lies Kingdom Hearts.
How does one extract these fragments? By use of keyblades, the same way that Sora unlocked Kairi's heart from his own in the first game.
Syn actually wrote a little trailer about it:
~~~~~~~~
Kingdom Hearts, the white door in the dark abyss, was lost two years ago when Sora locked it away for good.
But when the walls once again shattered, the Worlds became open and it too was unleashed.
In the heart of every survivor there exists a gem—a fragment of their World. It resonates with the Heart that now slumbers in the dark abyss.
If they are compiled, a compass can be created.
To lead one to Kingdom Hearts.
*flutters about*
And Aryn, I did not mean to ignore you. I just wanted to get this out before I couldn't anymore, haha.
(Not ignoring you Blue, but since I've already put in my word of advice I'll just target Aryn here.)
I like the idea that a certain amount of Heartless should be killed. It mirrors Kingdom Hearts II very well. But organizing that would be very difficult, just because there are MANY threads and not enough Keyblades. So what we could do is have the Organization/Dark XII begin 'collecting' Hearts. The Heartless can do this, and any Heartless that's not Pure oftentimes has a Heart or two inside of them, ready for releasing.
This would mean that basically there would be a 'raid' thread in which the member(s) are on a World and people have the option of stepping in and saying 'hi there thats a lovely Heart you shouldnt be holdin'. It's true that it's mostly character development/arguments/action, and less exact math, but story progression can be estimated. We didn't see every Heartless killed for Xemnas's Door.
