Name: Jin
Nickname: N/A
Age: 19, both in appearance and in actuality.
Gender: Male
Species: Juuka
Jin is what’s known as a Juuka. While they appear human, their internal biology differs quite significantly. Though he boasts no practical knowledge of his race’s physiology, he’s fairly certain that his blood naturally contains a fair bit electricity. Whether this is a natural magical affinity or a physical trait is something he’s unsure about. This also leads to hastened closing of his own wounds.
Jin can also say for certain that he’s not the only one rummaging around inside his mind. His instincts seem to have a personality of their own, and he often has to compete with them over choosing the proper course of action. He’s never had problems with it taking control of him, however. All it has going for it is that it can be very persuasive.
Position: Chaotic Neutral: Jin doesn’t particularly care what other people do, though he’s privy to interfering in a situation if he senses something unfair going on. However, his decisions on what’s fair and what’s not are often decided by input from his emotions, opinions of the people involved in the issue at hand, and comments from his instincts. Because of this, he also tends to not care about what people think he’s doing, as he tends to believe he’s fine with doing whatever so long as he’s not actively hurting another person.
Powers/Abilities/Techniques/Skills: Blood of The Juuka:This more or less covers all of Jin’s supernatural abilities. His blood is the source of most of his abilities from his control over the electricity in his blood to his limited psychic powers. The electricity in his blood is his race’s substitute for a mana pool, and most of his energy comes from it. It’s what keeps his heart beating and his muscles moving with the amount of force that they can. However, the drawbacks to this are that he only has a finite amount of energy he can use. While he’s not likely to show typical signs of exhaustion, the more of his energy he uses, the closer he comes to running out. If he does run out of energy, he’s likely to die if he doesn’t get some sort of a charge quickly.
A simple way to track this is to imagine a simple gauge that starts at 100% capacity in each new thread that Jin joins unless otherwise specified. Different uses of powers use up different amounts of the gauge. Consumption will be outlined below.
ChargesThe electricity is capable of being channeled into most objects, though whether or not they actually conduct it is completely up to the individual materials themselves. Jin has had training with transmitting it into various things, and he’s capable of controlling the flow when he comes into contact with metal, water, or other living things. However, he needs to exert minimal conscious effort in order to keep it from going out of control, so if he’s fully unconscious, coming into contact with him physically could prove to be dangerous.
Charges use up a minimum of 1% of the gauge and a maximum of 15%. This varies depending on how much force is put into the charge and how long the charge is held. At most, a charge can be held for three posts before a one post break must be taken.Mental LinksAs for his mild psychic ability, he’s capable of linking up the electrical impulses in his own mind with those of another person’s, granting him limited comprehension of what’s going through the person’s head. It’s often nothing more than thoughts or maybe a single sentence, and while he’s performing this action his focus on that person entirely, so he’s unable to utilize it in a fight of any sort, especially against creatures with less sophisticated minds that are significantly less intelligent than a person. He’s also unable to get a read on the person if they have any sort of mental block in place or if they’re trained to block mind reading. This means that he cannot recover people’s lost memories or figure out the things that they desperately want to keep secret with this ability.
Linking will take up a constant 3% of the gauge per use. It is subject to multiple uses per post.SpeedWhile the electricity in his blood is able to augment his physical strength and speed to a certain point at the risk of muscular damage due to the overflow of energy to them, when it comes to travelling quickly, he much prefers an alternate method. Using the energy, he is able to break down the chemical bonds between his molecules and use the resulting energy to propel himself in a direction at high speed. The further he travels, the more bonds he’ll need to break down, making prolonged use of this power dangerous. Also, due to the speed at which he’s propelling himself, he needs to figure out his destination beforehand and travel in mostly a straight line to get there if he doesn’t want to pause in between dashes. The ability takes a brief moment to charge and use, and anything he collides with while sprinting in this state will exert the same amount of force against him as he exerts against it. This makes running into anything risky depending on what it is and how much inertia that it has.
Speed carries both a physical and an energy affliction. While physical affliction will be varying based on my own judgement, this power is capable of moving Jin short distances (1-25 meters) for 5% of the gauge, medium distances (26-50 meters) for 10% of the gauge, or long distances (50-75 meters) for 15% of the gauge.Energy BoltsPerhaps one of his most powerful and draining abilities is firing off literal bolts of lightning from his body. While these are typically fired from the hands due to their natural dexterity, he can fire them off from any point of his body. The only difference is the amount of focus it will take to shoot off the round. This wastes his energy more quickly than others simply because of the large amount of charge that it requires to launch a blast, and is only accurate at distances up to 100 yards. For these reasons, he prefers to fight with his opponents up close. He is able to build up charge by moving around and generating static electricity, which he then retains as part of his natural electrical charge. However, due to the very small amount of static electricity that is typically generated through movement, this extension is barely noticeable at times.
Depending on the strength of the bolt, Jin will lose anywhere from 5% to 30% of his gauge. The larger the blast, the more damage done and the more energy taken.Warrior Spirit:Simply put, Jin is unbelievably stubborn. No, seriously, it’s extended to the point where it’s basically a skill in and of itself. He was trained as a warrior from his childhood by his late father, and the confidence and skill with his swords and his bare hands that he’d picked up from the man that had taught him have carried him through life. In fact, some might even say that this stubbornness is what created the voice in his head that he refers to as his instincts. While people may treat it as a form of Dissociative Identity Disorder, Jin is almost always the one making the final decision on which course of action he’s taking. However, this fighting instinct gives him keen insight into observing how his enemies fight. Whether or not he finds a weak point he’s capable of using is all based on how skilled the opponent is at what they’re doing.
Also with this ability comes the unfortunate side effect of an aggressive adrenaline addict being stuck in his head. His instincts are those of a warrior, and because of that are always looking for a way to release some of its pent up frustrations. While Jin is able to deny it what it wants for a time, he’s also a bit of an adrenaline junkie himself, and will go out looking for fights from time to time in order to shut it up when it gets annoying. This can often get him into bad situations, as he likes to target people he thinks would be a challenge.
Weapons/Items:Twin SwordsJin carries two swords on his person at all times. They are of opposing color designs, one having a light silver blade and dark blue wrappings around the hilt and the other a dark grey with green wrappings. They are his personal weapons of choice when not using his bare hands for many reasons. Perhaps the most is the magical properties behind the metal that allow them to hold a charge much the same as he does. The silver bladed one he received from his father during his training as a child, and the one with the deep grey blade was stolen from his brother, though for good reason.
He uses these weapons to deal combat in wide, sweeping attacks at high speed. His focus is not on defense, which is one of the major flaws of his style. However, which he doesn’t use blocks, he is more than able to dodge around attacks. Such efforts often prove to be more of a waste of energy than anything, though. He often finds himself between a rock and a hard place when it comes to pacing himself and dealing strikes.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the pair of swords is that they seem to be able to choose what they can and cannot cut. For instance, the silver one seems to be incapable of cutting anything living, whereas the dark grey one will more often than not have no issue cutting into flesh.
Appearance: Jin has a distinct shade of orange hair with silver highlights. While this might be perceived as a dye job by many people, it is actually the natural color of his hair. His eyes are a dull grey, and while his pupils usually appear normal, they are prone to turning into animalistic slits when he becomes excited due to anger, adrenaline, or a variety of other strong emotions. While he boasts to be a fighter, he does not usually clad himself in armor. Instead, he wears a simple black pair of jeans that fit loosely and a white t-shirt. His sword belt is grey and made of a soft fabric, and he also sports a blue headband with matching wristbands. Interestingly, he often neglects to wear shoes. This is understandable as the soles would wear out very quickly if he were to move at a fast pace while wearing them.
Furthermore, he wears sets of what look to be black hydraulic pipes around his ankles and wrists, the former being covered by the wristbands mentioned earlier. He also sports a similar set woven into a vest he wears under his shirt. They may be small, but they have act as seals for his electrical charge, storing the energy and converting it to weight. If he were to pour everything he had into the devices, they’d weigh around 100 kilograms altogether and it would kill him in the process. However, they act more like a reserve for him to draw on in extreme cases more than anything else.
At his full height, he stands at around six feet and one inch tall. A key defining feature on his face is the scar that trails down across his left eye and ends just below the left corner of his mouth.
Personality:At the age of four, Jin began training under his father, a warrior who had once lead a squad of fighters in a war that had gone on when he was younger. Unfortunately, the side that Jin’s father on had lost, causing the man to flee deep into the dense rainforests of the world to hide away from those that would see him dead. Jin was raised in this environment until the age of seven when his brother’s own Warrior Spirit turned him into a bloodthirsty killer when it burgeoned prematurely. Jin’s brother then laid waste to his home and killed his parents, leaving Jin after a battle that gave him the scar across his face. Of course, he likes to keep this a secret as he believes that tracking down his brother and taking revenge is his responsibility, and he does not want anyone’s help with it.
With his brother and the desire for redemption from his failure as motive to continue his training, Jin is relentless in his efforts to become stronger and stronger. He puts the burden of eternal training on himself, and is constantly looking for excuses to improve his skills. He prefers to keep to himself as a result of this habit of his, though he is sociable when he has to be.
That being said, he hates the idea of being in crowds. Due to his spotty control over which mental impulses he picks up from others, he is prone to the wandering thoughts of others that he is unable to ward off at times. He find it especially difficult to ignore thoughts directed at him, much like how a person is better at hearing their own name better than any other word. As he wandered the world for most of his childhood, not being taken in by anyone for more than a few days before they discovered his powers and reported him as a potential threat to the faction that had won the war and taken over the world, he is quite used to being alone. He also doesn’t have any sort of formal education outside of what his father taught him about fighting.
He likes the idea of someday learning to make weapons, and magic is certainly interesting to him despite his being totally rubbish at it. At his core, he’s interested in learning about different ways to learn how to fight. He sees it as a form of art more than anything else, but he also recognizes it for its dangerous side. Outside of training, he doesn’t have many hobbies, nor does he have many talents outside of fighting or other various physical activities. His active means of dealing with issues is to beat them down until they’re no longer issues. However, if he had a problem with a person or a group, he has no problem just ignoring it and leaving it be.
Should he need to join a group for some reason or another, he’ll be capable of following instruction to an extent, but he does not like being ordered around. He will show you the same amount of respect that he believes you are showing him. This could lead to various issues within group mechanic, but because he’s passionate about keeping everyone alive, he’s not likely to do anything that he’s certain would royally screw the group over. He just doesn’t want to see anyone else die in front of him.
Original World:TamniaTamnia is a world with one central super-continent of land that holds a majority of the populous and is surrounded by vast oceans on all sides. Other smaller areas of land exist as small islands that physically move through the seas, though what controls the paths they take remains a mystery.
Current World: Twilight Town
History:Jin was born shortly after what was widely considered the final battle of a war that had spanned for the past two decades prior to his birth. In that period of time in that world, a large group of that world’s residents were developing powers that wouldn’t be considered normal. The response to this, the governments of the world had come together to form a structured force in an attempt to keep control over the newly empowered individuals. However, as many political forces do, this one developed a certain degree of corruption. That corruption lead to the mistreatment of several of the “Gifted,” as they were called. Eventually the corruption grew into apathy, and apathy grew into hatred. Experiments, torture, and blood sports involving the Gifted were growing to be commonplace by the time the war struck.
It was a violent and bloody conflict. Military technology had been developed using the information received from past experiments on the Gifted, and the Gifted seemed to grow stronger with each passing battle. Slowly, they were gaining more control over their abilities. This is where perhaps the single most important part of any battle came into play. Potential.
Eventually, the tide would turn against the Gifted. Their forces were growing older, and the Government’s technology was growing stronger when paired with the new recruits of the much larger population of people willing to fight for the Government’s cause. Years of propaganda had made sure that the numbers were skewed in such a fashion.
Jin’s father, a man named Hiroshi who had been raised in a strict warrior culture most of his life, was one of the leading members of the resistance. His group – a ragtag group of friends he’d met along his journeys through the world – was charged with taking pivotal territory in the conflict. A large weapons storage and manufacturing facility codenamed “Caelum” was what he was aiming for, and claiming that territory would mean making a huge dent in the Government’s offensive capabilities.
The defenses of the base proved to be more than was expected, and Hiroshi lost many of his friends as collateral for the mistake. The battle between the Gifted and the Government that followed marked the end of the war and the victory of the Government over the Gifted. As a result of the shame and an overbearing will to live, Hiroshi went into deep hiding in the forests of the large planet’s supercontinent.
Along with Hiroshi was a girl named Shayla. She’d been the only other survivor of his group, and as the man sped away from the conflict at the high speeds he was known for, she took to work treating his wounds with her special brand of healing magic. The girl had always admired the boy, and the relatively nomadic lifestyle that they lead during their time in the rebellion carried on for quite a while. In fact, they only really decided to settle down when Shayla became pregnant with Jin and Leviathan.
For the entirety of the time that Shayla and Hiroshi had been travelling, the boy was blaming himself for all that had happened in those last few days of the war. He felt responsible for the loss of his comrades’ lives, and on most days Shayla was hard pressed to get through to him on anything regarding the war. Hiroshi seemed to want to ignore it. However, fathering two sons changed all that. He realized that his focus needed to shift to the boys at that point, and while he was still a very melancholic man most days, he was able to show his boys the fatherly affection they needed for the time they were able to have it.
Jin’s relationship with his father was simple enough. He looked up to the man like he was a god, and his father returned the affection. Hiroshi was confident that nothing could hurt either of his sons, but Shayla’s constant input as to the fragility of her precious children more than likely saved them from dozens of scrapes, bruises, and broken bones. It was on the part that Jin wanted to be as fast as his father that he developed his own technique to boost his speed, though at his young age he was never able to match the man.
Leviathan was a bit different. He was always sort of a detached child, only relying on his parents for the pare essentials. A part of him wanted to see his father as more of a rival than anything else. He was a roadblock that needed to be overcome in the pursuit of the power that could bring justice back into their world. However, Hiroshi was careful to make sure that Leviathan understood his own limits and how the war he’d fought was much harder than anything he was going to put the boy through. Leviathan in all his emotional maturity was able to comprehend these lessons much more easily than his younger and more carefree brother, and that was part of what Hiroshi admired about the boy.
The war of old played a direct hand in the shaping of the two boys’ childhood. They were the sons of two of the fighters in the war, and as a result of that, they developed powers of their own. Unfortunately, they weren’t that good at hiding them from the outside world. It was a subject that their father had warned them about in the past, but true comprehension on Jin’s part wouldn’t come until shortly after a match he’d had with Leviathan where their destructive abilities would come to light in more ways than just one.
The Government was able to track down the rather noticeable usage of powers on the part of Jin and Leviathan simply because of their bright and flashy nature. The nearby village that had loose affiliation with Government forces reported that there was an unusual amount of electric activity in the area, and when the troops were sent in to investigate, they discovered the two boys. Catching them by surprise, Jin and Leviathan were both captured and taken to a holding facility. It was on the rather low end of the security ladder seeing as no one expected much out of the group of children that was being kept there, but not raising the security to a higher level would be a key in allowing the boys to escape when the tests that were being run on them proved to be leading up to their rather untimely disposal.
It was the ultimate goal of the Government to study the Gifted and use their powers to further develop their technological point of dominance on the world before getting rid of them. That’s the reason Jin and Leviathan were able to survive long enough to escape. Well, that combined with the fact that Hiroshi had assembled some of the remaining Gifted rebels to help him hunt down his sons. He would have struck earlier, but memories of his past failure as well as the time it took to gather a respectable force prolonged the planning stage of the assault for a month. Thankfully, the forces that had rounded the two boys up for the kidnapping had been small and not well-connected to the larger body of government that was composed of the winning faction from the old war. Jin’s father had stopped the location of their residence from being revealed, claiming that he was done moving from place to place like a coward while he had a family.
A time of peace descended upon Jin’s life after that, though it wouldn’t last for long. His little sister Kailyn was born when he and Leviathan were both nearly six. It was at a point a few months later when Leviathan’s Warrior Spirit awakened, and his instincts proved to be vicious. The instincts of the child had been shaped in the first six years of his life, and they had plenty of negative emotions to feed off of. Leviathan had kept a rather large secret from his family for a long while. Throughout his childhood, the boy had been taking visits to the town nearby their house in secret. He’d seen the way people treated the very few Gifted that were still around, and the abuse and torment made him sick to his stomach. However, he was also too scared of the opposing the forces that had caused his father so much grief. He wasn’t stupid, but he was a rather emotional child.
All of this eventually crystallized into the Warrior’s Spirit of the boy, a manifestation of his most primal instincts. With all the negative emotions the boy had felt up to that point, the pounding voice in his head telling him to strike out against the cancers of this world and put the power where it truly belonged were a lofty challenge to overcome. He was able to resist for a time, but when knowledge of an extension to his power over earthen energies came to light, everything changed.
Killing creatures with the energy he was capable to produce from absorbing earthen material would in turn convert those creatures into that energy. Killing small prey would grant him almost no noticeable boost, but as the power of the slain creature rose, so did the boost that it provided. His Warrior’s Instinct drove him mad, screaming at him to find someone strong and kill them to attain more power; the kind of power that he could use to restructure the balance of this world. Perhaps the worst part of this was that the more he listened to the voice, the more he compromised the small things, the more influence over him it developed.
This all culminated into one final snapping point. The boy’s mind was thrown into disarray, and as a result his instincts were able to take total control. No one was safe after that, not even the boy’s parents. Hiroshi may have been fast, and he was skilled with a sword, but he lacked his sons’ talents with elemental energies. There was only so much that the man could do to stop the boy once he’d gone completely berserk. Soon after that point, he died.
Around the same time that Terra, Ventus, and Aqua confronted Xehanort in the Keyblade Graveyard, Jin confronted his brother in the wreckage of his home. He stole the sword Leviathan had been given by their father to better his odds. Still, with no practice in a dual-wielding style to speak of, Jin was at a major disadvantage. It was a common flaw in the young boy’s logic, but it proved to be his undoing.
Leviathan ended up being far too much for him to handle, and left Jin to die in the middle of the forest with a deep cut across his face. His mother was able to drag herself to him, working in tandem with her son’s electric blood to heal the boy. In the end, she used up the last of her energy and life force completing the job. All that was left was the deep, tanned scar across the left side of Jin’s face. He would use this mark as a memory of his drive and determination as he set out to find ways to gain strength and avenge the loss of his family. Sure, he was strong enough to deal with the average run-of-the-mill Government agent, but anything more than that would soon prove to be far too much for him, especially now that Leviathan was growing stronger with every town he passed through.
Jin was a traveler for many years after the massacre of his family. If the guilt over the loss was painful to the boy, then the knowledge that Leviathan was using his newfound abilities to raze the land like a farmer would crops was soul-shattering. It would be quite some time until he even allowed himself to speak to another person, let alone enter any sort of populated area for an extended period of time. He was afraid that Leviathan would pop up again, and that he’d be left to try to fight the boy while failing to protect others. He hid his fears, of course. His experiences had a rather large impact on his emotional stability in the fact that it shifted towards the nonexistent side as his apathy took hold. He was only a kid, after all. Why did he have to worry about all these other people and all their stupid problems? He was having a hard enough time dealing with his own issue, so everyone else could just learn to take care of themselves like he’d had to.
So with his family now dead, Jin was left to wander the world as he saw fit. He’d have preferred not to do so, but the romance of exploration grew on the child. As a Juuka, he was fundamentally different than the other Tamnians. He was Gifted, but that wasn’t all there was to the story. Plenty of people were Gifted in the world around him, but none of them seemed to have quite the same burdens resulting from their powers that Jin did. They didn’t have a voice in their head speaking on the part of their instincts, and very few of them seemed to give off the same feel that the family he knew did. Of course, that could simply be chalked up to a difference in ability type, but there was always a feeling of something different being there for him that he only ever saw in a few people.
Of course, that all changed at the age of twelve when he was captured once again – this time by a more competent division of the government – and forced to fight in an arena. It was there that he encountered his sister Kailyn. Of course, this was the confusing bit. As far as Jin was concerned up to that point, his red headed younger sister had been dead since the murder of his family. In all actuality, the girl hadn’t been so much as touched by Leviathan during his actions. The boy might have been a seven year old mass murderer, but he still loved his little sister more than life itself.
So, when the Government came in to assess the battlefield – this time coming in with more backing from the main branches of the system – they quickly found what they believed to be an orphan of a crime committed by the same one who had destroyed the large portion of the forest that Jin and Leviathan had fought it. Who it was that was responsible for the damage was unknown by the group at the time, and the girl would be next to useless to them as for information gathering due to her age, so they did the only thing they could do. Kailyn was given to a local family willing to house victims of just this sort of tragedy.
Eventually, her powers were discovered. However, the kindly family that had raised her for the past few years simply couldn’t bring themselves to turn the girl over to the Government, who was now actively hunting down any Gifted that they could even catch wind of. It seemed that the new generation of them was proving to be even more difficult to deal with than the last, and they were taking none too kindly to that. So, the family allowed Kailyn a chance to run. She too had lived on her own for a short time like her brother was. However, at that point she had matured to a level that she was more able to deal with the mental stress that such actions would put on her. The fact that her healing powers were also very easy to conceal also helped her out in the long run. However, as she was incapable of self-healing, she still needed to be very careful about what sort of messes she got herself in.
Eventually the girl had been captured and taken to the arena. She’d heard of it before. This was where the Government held its Gifted blood sports. Rumor had it that in many matches, the opponents would be forced to kill each other. If the victor refused, both would lose their lives. However, her healing powers and hair color weren’t the only thing that made Kailyn similar to her mother.
The girl had the same fiery temper that his mother was known for, and the spark he remembered from his family was present with her. However, at first he wasn’t entirely aware of her relation to him in the past. It had been around nine years since he’d seen her last. Still, the pieces eventually added up when he figured out that she had a Warrior’s Spirit as well. That was another thing about his family that Jin didn’t quite understand yet. None of the other Tamnians that had Gifts had Warrior Spirits. Why this was, Jin still doesn’t know. However, his more present concern is the situation regarding his world.
The arena had been a tricky situation to get out of. It was made even trickier due to the appearance of Leviathan. While Jin had a workable escape plan that he was tempted to try with the help of a few other competitors in the glorified prison, Leviathan seemed to think it more fit to blow a massive hole right through the side of the most populated area of seats and fly in, busting up anything that got in between Jin and himself. Leviathan had always had a knack for tracking people down. It was likely due to his connection with the planet itself, but Jin wasn’t going to waste his time learning the why and the how when his focus needed to be on the when.
Kailyn, rusty claymore given to her by the arena to help her stand a chance in combat, had been daft enough to try and back her brother up despite not knowing about the relation between the three siblings at the time. Jin had been split between protecting her and fighting against Leviathan. Again at a disadvantage while fighting his brother, Jin was very quickly beaten to the side, but not before dealing critical damage to his brother in the process. Both parties incapable of putting up any sort of a fight for the next while, Leviathan was forced to retreat when Government forces finally rallied to intervene with the issue. Thankfully, a short healing system on the part of Kailyn restored enough of Jin’s stamina so the two could make a thrifty escape.
At the age of fourteen, Jin took to travelling around the floating continents that sailed through the clouds of Tamnia alongside his sister while they avoided the forces that were no doubt pursuing them at this point. They’d spent two years trying to avoid them on the ground, and at this point there wasn’t much else for them to do down below. They’d thought it would be better if they got higher up. However, Jin soon met a boy named Trey along the way. What made Trey special? Well, he was a boy with a Warrior’s Spirit from a family that seemingly had none. Jin’s own Warrior Spirit didn’t react well to this. When asked, the construct of Jin’s instincts was more than happy to explain why it was that such an occurrence upset it. While Jin wasn’t entirely sure of the origin of his family or his kind, his Warrior Spirit seemed more than well-versed in that sort of knowledge. It was just unwilling to part with the information for a “host” that had yet to even defeat it when he had the advantage of his mind being the field of battle, seeing as combat strength was just about all it valued.
It was Jin’s Warrior Spirit that eventually revealed the hereditary nature of Warrior Spirits to the orange-haired boy. Putting two and two together, Jin was quickly able to deduce that Kailyn was really his sister. He’d had his suspicions, what with her similar appearance to his mother and her powers as well as her name, but he simply refused to believe it. The boy had grown up without a family for so long that he couldn’t comprehend the idea of having one anymore. He had always been on his own, and he was certain that until he met Kailyn he’d always be on his own.
Besides the simple fact that Kailyn had been four at the time Leviathan had killed her parents and couldn’t be counted on to remember things in much detail, she’d also apparently suffered from some sort of head injury during the tragedy. She didn’t remember much, and due to the limitations of Jin’s psychic abilities, he couldn’t dig out any of those memories. The most he caught were bits and pieces of the nightmares she claimed to be having that featured shaded, heavily distorted figures laying waste to a forest that looked like the one that Jin remembered from his childhood on a much larger scale. In fact, the similarities between the redhead’s nightmare – a bad dream that had plagued her on and off for most of her life – and Jin’s real-life situation were the only reason that the orange haired boy allowed her to follow him. Taking her along for the ride had been painful, but his Warrior Spirit deemed it necessary for reasons he was now aware of.
With the importance of this boy’s Warrior Spirit revealed, Jin found it necessary to further investigate the situation that the family that Trey belonged to was currently in. The problem was that Trey’s family was heavily affiliated with the Government. Of course, after a little digging it was discovered that Trey was the only one in the family with any sort of Gift. Suddenly, everything started to put itself together for the boy. These people were somehow distantly related to him, but they had a way of either suppressing or killing off their Warrior Spirits. The side affects of this action were the loss of their powers, which explained the correlation between Trey’s control over wind and the presence of his Warrior Spirit.
So, Jin felt that it was the best course of action to offer to train the boy as they ran. The Government had soon discovered Trey as a Gifted as well when the boy had tried to hold them off while Jin and Kailyn ran. Jin had shot that plan down almost immediately, but it still wasn’t soon enough to stop Trey from revealing his powers. It was at moments like those that Jin wondered if Trey was genuinely that naïve about their situation or simply had a death wish. Regardless, the boy had bought them all time somehow, and now Jin owed him, which was something that the orange haired boy had learned to avoid while growing up on his own. Owing debts was never a good thing, because there would always be some form of collection. So, not giving the kid much of a choice, Jin dragged him along for the ride with his sister and him.
Jin’s world fell into darkness when he was seventeen years old. In the time between then, Trey and Kailyn had become a new sort of family for him. They were people he had to protect, and because of that he had a purpose when it came to fighting the Government. Leviathan was still at the front of his mind when it came to training, but the much more common evil around him was the Government. Choosing between two equally menacing opponents had been tough, but in the end Jin had realized that Leviathan When the Heartless came, he was unexpectedly flung into Traverse Town. He’s still not sure entirely how this happened. All he remembers is being in the same area as his old home while resting in between his training sessions. He’d been drawn back to that forest for some reason on that day, and he had abandoned the rest of his group to get there. He’s not quite sure where they are at the moment, or even if they’ve been lost to the darkness. In fact, he wasn't entirely sure of anything that had been going on with the Heartless or the Nobodies at that moment. He was new to the land, and his senses only allowed him to understand so much on the scale of inter-world conflict.
With time, he eventually picked up on the basics of everything. He began to understand the issues facing the worlds. While his clarity had increased, one thing remained certain. It’s his primary mission to figure out what the hell happened to his world and how he can fix it. Between stopping Leviathan and putting an end to the Government, he has far too much to do to be caught up in the affairs of other worlds, and he doesn't even want to think about how this new conflict is altering things on this world. He needs to solve the issues of his home before he moves on to the issues of others. In order to solve those issues though, he’s going to have to find his world first.
Role Playing Sample: This town was both a strange and foreign place to the orange haired boy. None of his friends were here as far as he could tell, though that was a given. He’d gone out of his way to ditch them for a while in order to train. He had no idea just what the hell was going on, and he had no plans to stay here long enough to figure that out. Closing his eyes and opening his senses, Jin tried to locate just where the portal he’d come from. Doors didn’t just open and close themselves, so whatever pathway he’d come through had to be welcoming entrants still, then. It was as simple as that.
When his senses didn’t turn up anything other than a few spikes in activity from the minds around him, he sighed in defeat. There wouldn’t be any poking and prying his way out of this place on his own. He’d need to look around and ask the locals about where in all of Tamnia this place even was. From there, he’d need to figure out which way would bring him back to where his friends were supposed to be. He’d probably waste a fair bit of energy and need to take his weights off to cover any sort of longer distance, but he’d be back with his group.
So he walked out into the town and began questioning people. Of course, when he’d finally gotten hold of a map he’d scratched his head in confusion. He didn’t recognize any of the places listed. Not only that, but the architecture and dressings of the people seemed to be totally different than what he was used to. If he was going to get back, he’d need to figure out just where in the hell he was.
Just what had sent him into this strange new area? Did it have something to do with those little black creatures that had been popping up here and there in his world as of late? He remembered the fights he’d endured against those things. Alone or in small groups they were no big deal, but when they began ganging up on you, they proved hard to deal with. He’d had a friend of his looking into it when he left to train, but apparently there hadn’t been enough time to come up with an actual answer as all he’d heard was conjecture and phrases along the lines of “Get off my back or you won’t be getting an answer, period.”
Sighing, Jin trekked off deeper into the town, trying to figure out just what his next course of action would be.
