Liu Bolin is a taller than average chinese human (due to an exceedingly nutrient rich diet) with black hair and black eyes. He is at the peak of physical conditioning, and as such is not so much muscular as he looks lithe, almost snake like.
He is dressed in a green jumpsuit, with yellow accents. It is open from the waist up, revealing his chest, which bears the mark of the Iron Fist. He wears a yellow sash at his waist, and a yellow mask over the upper portion of his head. Yellow slippers adorn his feet,
This battle suit is designed for maximum freedom of motion, and imparts no armor whatsoever.
The mark of the Iron Fist is a dragon shaped burn scar across the chest, as if the dragon were taking flight. No other discernible scars or features.
Personality: Liu is a rather closed off individual. After years of training and having to do battle with others to harden his body and mind, he has distanced himself from others greatly. It's not that he doesn't want people to be close to him, it's more of a coping method.
After years of intense training, fighting daily, he found it to be easier to not see his opponents or allies as friends and enemies, but rather as simple obstacles to overcome. This of course leads to difficulty in his personal relationships.
While not quick to trust, once you have his loyalty, you have it to the nth degree. He won't question your motives, preferring rather to trust the few people he allows to get close to him.
While mostly serious, the occasional smile may be wrenched from him if something perhaps reminds him of his training, or what have you.
His moral compass is dictated by his training. He adheres to the beliefs of the mystical city of K'un L'un, and while they may not always be the "right" thing to do, he doesn't know anything else.
Original World: Earth (The Incredibles)
Current World: Traverse town
History:Liu was born in the mystical city K'un L'un. Widely believed to be little more than myth, the city of K'un L'un only crosses the earthly plane every 10 years. While there was much upheaval in the U.S. about super humans, and the damage they cause, K'un L'un remained untouched by these problems.
At a young age, he was selected as one of his generation to be trained in the hopes of becoming the Iron Fist. His entire life was consumed with the pursuit of this goal. Eventually, word was that the current Iron Fist; Daniel Rand; disappeared. Thus it was time for a new Iron Fist. After a tournament to decide which disciple was to face Shou-Lao the Undying (the dragon who grants the Iron Fist their powers), Liu went to the dragon's cave.
The heat of the cave was unbearable. Liu could barely see as the heat made the air around him shimmer. Before he knew it, the dragon was upon him. It was all Liu could do just to stay out of the dragons jaws. Slowly, Liu felt his strength leaving him. If he didn't do something soon, he would die here, in this cave, eaten by this dragon he had worked his whole life just to have a chance to face.
Shou-Lao's heart had been mystically removed from his body, and sat in a brazier, behind the dragon himself. As Liu tried to maneuver past the dragon, he relayed the only way to reach the heart was to attack the dragon itself. That made this challenge just all the more impossible.
Liu saw an opening and took it. As the dragon lunged at him, he dove through it's jaws, and landed a few key strikes in pressure points, stunning the dragon. This wasn't enough however, and Liu had no intention of stopping. Liu continued to punch and kick the dragon, until he struck the scar where the heart had been removed. The dragon bellowed in pain and collapsed. Not wasting a moment, Liu ran to the brazier and plunged his hands into the dragon's heart, thus granting him the powers of the Iron Fist.
After gaining the powers, he was called to the chambers of Yu-Ti, the ruler of the city of K'un L'un. Yu-Ti spoke of the visions he had had over the past week of another dimension, where a darkness gathering. A darkness that could threaten all worlds. Due to the fact that Yu-Ti was in tune with much more mystical energy than anyone else, he could sense that this would indeed soon become a problem. While the Iron Fist may not be able to stop the darkness, he certainly could stem the tide.
Thus, with all the mystical powers of K'un L'un focused on this one task, a tunnel was opened through realities. With everything being prepared, the Iron Fist stepped through the portal, arriving in Traverse Town. The portal closed behind him. The Iron Fist could not open a portal back for himself, in fact, he didn't even have a way to contact his master. He would just have to trust in Yu-Ti and the rest of the denizens of K'un L'un to open him a portal at the right time and right place if he were to ever return home.
Now with no way to get back home, and no real information to guide him, except that there is a darkness that needs to be stopped, the Iron Fist has to figure out what to do.
Role Playing Sample: Arriving in this new place, new dimension, reality, whatever it was, was disorienting. Liu's head was reeling, his stomach sick. Even his bag felt heavy at this point.
Focusing, he was able to realign his chi, thus making his nausea disappear. Now he could potentially find some answers. As he walked through the town, he saw many things new to him: weapons, technology, creatures.
Suddenly, the Iron Fist realized he no longer knew his location within this city. Perhaps a wrong turn down a side street? Trying to retrace his steps only led to further confusion. It seemed this place was full of back alleys, dead ends, and passages that led to nowhere.
At this point, Liu began to worry. If he couldn't find his way around this new town, how was he to figure out this darkness mystery? As his thoughts became more and more negative, he felt a presence near him. Certainly not a benign one either.
Slowly putting down his satchel, so as not to give away that he felt the presence; make that presences; he began to focus his breathing to prepare for battle.
Gracefully, he dodged the first strike. It came from low and behind him, much faster than he had anticipated, and only through the years of vigorous training had he been able to dodge it.
There were five of them. Four were small, almost nothing more than mere shadows on the ground, coalescing and undulating. Hard to focus on them. The last was a very large one. This one was easy to watch, Slow and lumbering, fat even. It let it's arms hang at it's sides, no thought to protecting it's vital organs.
Faster than it could react, the Iron Fist lunged at the nearest shadow, striking it and watching it dissipate. As he moved for the next one, the large one swung at him. Easily dodging the haymaker, Iron Fist made quick work of the smaller shadows.
At this point, the Iron Fist considered his job practically done. This large one obviously had no idea of how to really fight, and wasn't going to offer much of a challenge. Almost without care, Liu struck at the things belly, hoping to knock the wind out of it. Liu's hand met a wall, and had it not been for years of hardening his physique, Liu's hand surely would have broken.
"Unexpected." Liu commented as he backflipped away from the creature.
Liu continued to try to strike this enemy head on. Each time, his fist, foot, elbow, knee, were all met by an unbelievably hard force. It seemed like nothing he could do would penetrate this thing; what was it, a shell? some sort of chi field? the darkness itself?
"No more of this."
As the large creature came after Liu, swinging wildly, he rolled underneath it's arms. Focusing his chi into a single point, Liu rose behind the creature.
Every time he did this, it made time feel like it had slowed. Liu watched his own hand fly out, glowing with a purple aura. The anticipation of the strike was almost unbearable. The fist had found it's mark.
Striking the small of the back, the Iron Fist felt no resistance at all. The creature practically exploded around his fist.
Now feeling no presence around him, it was easy to find his way to the nearest inn.
Tired and a bit woozy from the fight, Liu paid for a room and fell into bed for the night.
